Create space in iMovie app on ipad

I'm trying to create space on an ipad running iOS 7.0.4.  I have a number of iMovie projects on it.  I first shared two big projects with iTunes on my iMac, but then I discovered that I could not import the .iMovieMobile files that were created into my iMovie v10.  Then I tried to "Save Video" in iMovie on the ipad, initially choosing a large format file.  It got part way through then told me that there was not enough space to complete.  So I tried a slightly smaller format file, and the same thing happened.  Finally I tried the smallest format file and the same thing happened.  Then I realized that these partially completed files appeared to be persisting on the ipad somewhere, because my free space went from about 8 GB to virtually nothing.  I need to create space on the ipad by deleting the partial files fut have not figured out how to do this.  I restarted the ipad, tried synching it (got error message), and tried hooking up to a different iMac.  Does anyone know how to get rid of these?  Thanks for any help.

on the iphone it is not possible to create albums you have to create them from you computer and sync it with itunes

  • Create space in imovie & backup projects and used clips

My imovie app. is full of projects and the clips used to make them. Wondering best way to organize and safely export both to clear space on the HD?

    Chet,
If you have one large Source Clip, and only have a small instance of it, the link to the large Source Clip will be unchanged.
That physical Clip is not in your PRPROJ file, but is only linked to, so it does not affect anything, regarding size.
If you have to pare things down to just that instance of the Clip, you could then Export to an intermediate file, say with the Lagarith Lossless CODEC, and then just Import that resultant file into a new Project. Again, in the PRPROJ file, there will only be a link to that intermediate file.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • IMovie app purchased from iTunes

I have today purchased iMovie (OIS App) for £2.99 (through iTunes I recall) but when I start the app it does not look much like the on line tutorial details. Just has Video/Projects/Theater and create a new project. Any advice please? Have I actually purchased the app or some simple equivalent?

You purchased the iMovie app for iPad. Being designed for a handheld device with less storage and processing power than a Mac it has less features than the equivalent on a mac. Perhaps you have seen the online tutorials for iMovie on a Mac? iMovie on a Mac and iMovie on an iPad  are completely different programs.

  • Can I create black and white movies using the iMovie app for the iPad?

I would like to make a black and white movie using the iPad iMovie app.  Is it possible to film in black and white instead of color?

This may sound strange, but I actually got to the stage of regretting ACR several versions back, because you ended up with nothing to do in Photoshop.  When you think how far ACR has come since then, you can see how Lightroom (with the same RAW conversion engine and features) is all most photographers need.  Adding ACR as a filter inside Photoshop was a master stroke.  I wonder who thought of it?  Russell Brown would be a good bet, but Chris Cox has made it clear on more than one occassion, that us lay folk dramatically underestimate what goes into coding, intergrating, and proving new features.
BTW  That was not a straight line for some joker lauch into tails of woe about all the bugs that make it into final release versions.

There are third-party browser apps that have settings within them to identify themselves as full browsers e.g. Atomic Web, and I believe the iCab Mobile browser also does (I don't have it so i can't check)
iCab indeed does allow for that

1, you can't at the moment, though with iOS 5 in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device
2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad

  • I created movie using iMovies on iMac. Sent movie to iTunes on iMac. Transferred movie to iPad in iTunes. I can not find it on iPad. where should I look?

I created movie using iMovie on iMac. Sent movie to iTunes on iMac. Then sent to iPad using iTunes. I can not find it on iPad. Where should I look? When iPad is connected to iMac it shows it to be in movies. When I look under iTunes movies on iPad I get movies I can rent or buy. when I look under videos I get a blank screen

Are you looking in the Videos app? iMovie on the iPad? The Photos App? I don't use iMovie but those are the three places where you should look.

  • Can the new pre installed apps in iPad 2. Like garage band, iMovie be sync back to i tune, and then sync these new apps from ipad2 to the old iPad 1?

Can the new pre installed apps in iPad 2. Like garage band, iMovie be sync back to i tune, and then sync these new apps from ipad2 to the old iPad 1?

    GB and iMovie pre installed?
    http://www.apple.com/ipad/built-in-apps/
Click: Browser All Built In Apps
iMovie and GB must be purchased.
If you have installed GB and iMovie on the iPad 1 and synced using iTunes, just sync the those apps to the newer iPad with iTunes. No re purchase necessary with the same iTunes account.

  • I want to shoot a movie on my iPhone and edit it on my iPad using the iMovie app. How can this be done via iTunes on my computer?

I want to shoot a movie on my iPhone and edit it on my iPad using the iMovie app. How can this be done via iTunes on my computer?

You can't drag video into the filesharing pane of iTunes, you can only transfer projects.
Videos need to come in via the photos tab of iTunes.
The easiest way to get videos from the iPhone to the iPad is via the project export import.
Projects can be exported from the iPhone, then imported to the iPad like this:
iPhone Send a project or trailer to iTunes
If the marquee screen isn’t showing, tap the My Projects button .
Scroll to center the project or trailer you want to share.
Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen, and then tap iTunes; tap OK when iMovie indicates that export is complete.
Connect your device to your computer, and then open iTunes on your computer. After a moment, your device appears in iTunes, below Devices on the left.
Select the device, and then click Apps at the top of the iTunes window.
Select iMovie in the Apps list below File Sharing. (You may need to scroll to see it.)
In the iMovie Documents pane, select the file you just shared, and then click the “Save to” button; save the file to your computer in a place where you can find it easily. You can also save the file by dragging it to the desired location on your computer.
Disconnect the device from your computer.
iPad Import a project or trailer from iTunes
Connect your device to your computer, and open iTunes on your computer. After a moment, your device appears in iTunes, below Devices on the left.
Select the device, and click Apps at the top of the iTunes window.
Select iMovie in the Apps list below File Sharing. (You may need to scroll to see it.)
Click Add below the iMovie Documents pane; in the window that appears, navigate to the file you want to add.
Select the file, and then click Open to copy the file to your device. The file appears in the iMovie Documents pane when copying is complete.
Open iMovie on your device; if the marquee screen isn’t showing, tap the My Projects button in the upper-left corner above the viewer.
Tap the Import button at the bottom of the screen, and then tap the name of the project you want to import. When the import is complete, the project opens and can be edited like any other project.

  • When i import movies from my iPhoto app to my iMovie app does it make a copy (thereby using double the hard disk space) or does it link to my iPhoto app? The reason i ask is i want to archive all my videos from iPhoto/iMovie. HELP!

When i import movies from my iPhoto app to my iMovie app does it make a copy (thereby using double the hard disk space) or does it link to my iPhoto app? The reason i ask is i want to archive all my videos from iPhoto/iMovie. Do i need to archive the movies in iPhoto AND iMovie? HELP!

Hi - I'm having the same problem with freeing up space on the HD. If I can't free space if I'm using any part of the clip, how can I split up the clips so that I can discard the part I won't use? This is crazy! I have only 4 GB of free space left!
Also, I've tried to transfer the project file to my external HD but I keep getting an error saying I can't transfer it. I've been told this is because I don't have enough space on the HD for the transfer. I tried a similar transfer with another computer with plenty of HD space but the same error occurred. Is there a way to break up the project file into small pieces for the transfer (I'm thinking the whole movie file is just too big)?
    Thanks for any info!

First, you need to send the project to iTunes:

From there, you can then sync it to your phone:

  • 1  year old ipad and want to download free imovie app

Only imovie app I saw was a $4.99 version.  Is there a free app for playing an imovie clip?

You should be able to iMovie videos on the iPad without an app. Try to download VLC Player app on iTunes and try to open the video on there.

  • Has anyone found an app for creating fillable pdf forms on an ipad?

I have found many apps that allow me to fill in already created fillable pdf forms on an ipad, but I'm wondering if there are any apps that allow the creation of PDF forms on an ipad?  (similar to adobe professional...?).  Thanks for your time!

PDFpen pro can be used on the Mac to generate fillable forms.  It is much less expensive than Acrobat.
For IOS, I would check out
    PDF Expert by Readdle
    DocuSign Ink
I know the allow you to sign your name on PDF forms.
I would think they can extend that to fillable forms.
