Hi all,
I am working on this weird requirement.
Basically, I have to create a detail table on a search resullt table. The search result is seeded search, for Item Advance search in Oracle PIM module which is not based upon a VO. The search result table is dynamically built at run time in the EgoItemSearchHelper class and that's where they build the search result VO (EgoItemSearchResultsVO).
Now, I need to access this VO in the controller class, and create a view link programatically between details table VO and this VO. The problem is since I do not have Impl class for the EgoItemSearchResultsVO, how do I accees the column that is the key attribute. Second I do not know how to create view link between the two VOs programatically.
Please help it's urgent.

Pratap, My problem is the seeded VO is in seeded AM and my details VO will be in my custom AM, I don't know if we can have a view link between View objects that are in different AMs.
To bypass that problem, I tried to create a VO in the seeded AM programatically and then created a view link. Now since the AM is seeded, and I am adding my details VO to this AM programatically, I thought of creating a table also programatically on the detais VO.
In the end it does not work, I end up getting a show button on the main table, but when I click I get an error (Cannot find <null> attribute in the EOGITEMSEARCHRESULTVO) which is the seeded VO class. Unfortunately there is no boolean variable on the dynamic seeded VO, so don't know what to put in oatablebean.setDetailViewAttributeName("") method;
Any clues on this, appreciate all responses from the forum gurus.

Create Organization Data programatically

I am using ALBPM 5.7 Studio and trying to create Organization data programatically - OU, Participant, Role etc.
I am able to fetch data but not able to create OU.

Dont insert values directly in dB as you have to update multiple dependent tables in case you start doing that way. Check this thread for available api to create an organization

SQL Authentication provider - create tables script

Hi all!
I'd like to use SQL Authentication provider for my Web application. I cannot find the script for creating users/roles tables used by the provider.
Can you suggest me a link where I can download them ?

Start Oracle XE DB and open SQL propmt to execute below commands:

Generally customers can add users directly in DB with help below commands:
insert into USERS (U_NAME,U_PASSWORD,U_DESCRIPTION) values('system','weblogic','admin user');
insert into GROUPS (G_NAME,G_DESCRIPTION) values('Administrators','Administrators');
insert into GROUPMEMBERS (G_NAME,G_MEMBER) values('Administrators','system');
But in this case password is not encrypted so either you can add users via console or via WLST script to store them in encrypted form.
We had executed above commands just to verify user which is directly stored in DB gets authenticated properly or not from SQL authenticator configured as below
Now start weblogic admin server and access console to create Data source by navigating Services ->JDBC -> Data sources
Create Data source named SqlDS
JNDI: SqlDS
DB type: Oracle
DB Driver: Oracle Thin XA driver
DB name: XE
DB host: <hostname>
Port: 1521
DB user: <username>
DB password: <password>
Keep rest of the configuration same and click on test Configuration. If its successful click on next and target it to "AdminServer"
Click on Finish and activate chnages
Now navigate to Security Realms -> myrealm -> Providers
Click on New and provide Name as SqlAuthenticator and select Type as SQLAuthenticator
Now click on newly created provider and make Control Flag as "Sufficient"
Navigate to provider specific page:
1. Check on Plaintext Passwords Enabled.
2. Provide Data source Name: SqlDS
Keep rest of the parameters as it is and Save this configuration. It will ask you to restart Admin server.
Now again navigate Security Realms -> myrealm -> Users & groups
Check user which was created directly in DB is listed in table with SqlAuthenticator, Once its listed go ahead and add users as below
B. Cretae users using Admin console:
Login to Admin console
Navigate to Security Realms -> myrealm -> Users & groups
Click on users tab and try creating new user
User name: <user name>
Select Authentication provider: SqlAuthenticator
User Password: <password>
Once user is created check DB table, this user musted be added with encypted password
C. Create multiple users using WLST script:
Navigave to $DOMAIN_HOME/bin folder and execute setDomainEnv file as below:
Unix: . ./setDomainEnv.sh (Do not forget to put two dots before / )
Windows: setDomainEnv.cmd
Now change below script as per your environment and execute as suggested in step 3:

Next lines create users. You need to add however users you need to create programatically.
Syntax : cmo.createUser('user_name','user_password','user_description')
Now save these commands in a file with extention .py and execute as below:
# java weblogic.WLST create_user.py
If your script fails the try executing each command separately. For this start WLST session as below:
# java weblogic.WLST
Now execute commands specified in above script. You will be able to debug if anything went wrong while executing script.

Here cs_tmp_wcl_xml_data contains a data of 600 mb in oracle directory

Logical error in creating tables using db link in solaris

Hi,
While creating table using the syntax create table newtab...as select * from tab@dblink .. I am facing a problem. The newtab table created is having a structure different (from datalength point of view of varchar2 and char datatypes) from the source. The data length is getting tripled i.e. if a column a is varchar2(20) in tab then it is becoming --- a varchar2(60) in newtab. This is happening in solaris environment when the two databases are in 2 different servers. Please let me know if there are any patches to resolve the problem.

I have a project that I need to do, what is the best approach for each step?
1- I have to create a table in Microsoft SQL Server.
2- I have to import data/ tables from Microsoft Excel or Access to Microsoft SQL Server. Should I use Microsoft Visual Studio to move data from Excel or Access?
3-I should populate the created table with the data from the exported data.
4-How should I add the second and third imported table to the first table? Should I use union query?
After I learn these, I will bring up the code to make sure what I do is right.

Sql ddl replication strange behavior with create table

Hello, I create the following table on my oracle DB server:
CREATE TABLE test (a NUMBER(*,0) DEFAULT 0 NOT NULL,
b DATE DEFAULT SYSDATE NOT NULL));
ALTER TABLE test
ADD CONSTRAINT pk_test PRIMARY KEY (a);
when I deploy and sync, on the mobile I have the table well created, but the not null and default sysdate on the b column on are not set. It's null with no default values.
Have anyone an idea ?

We do not replicate not null or default values on Oracle Lite 5.0.2.x. This functionality will be available in the 10g release of Oracle Lite.

30EA3 - Edit Table/Create Table(Advanced) - Table Name, Text Box Size

I am not sure if its the same on non-Linux versions, but in the edit table dialog, the table name text box size is tiny. Its only wide enough that you can see approx 7 chars.
Is it possible to increase this? The size of the text box in the simple create table dialog seems like a good size. As far as I can tell, it is not tiny to conserve space for other items.
Anyway, it's just a minor issue that wont prevent me from doing work - just think it'd be better a bit bigger. I am sure it didn't used to be this small.

Performance problem while creating table at runtim

I have pl/sql block like
Begin
Exceute immediate 'drop table x '
Execute immediate 'create table x as select .... stament (complex select by joining 7-8 tables);
Execute immediate ('create index ind1 on table x'); -- i am not writing the full syntax
End;
The select statement used in create table is fetching 10 millions of rows (approx).
The above pl/sql block is taking 30-45 minutes.
Without going in depth of query used in select (as i have to explain the functionality otherwise),
Could any one please suggest to create a table in fatset way like nolooging or seperate tablespace with bigger block size or any change in any DB parameter etc.
The db server is having excelent hardware configuration 32GB ram , multi CPU (16 CPUs) , Huge hardisk.

Any way to stop Pages (current) from creating Table of Contents (in this case Chapter 1) when
coverting from Pages to ePub. This messes up my book. The PDF file created is perfect!

How to grant create table privilege for a user on a specific table

Hi:
I created a user, for a test scenario. I granted this user create any table, and I made the default tablespace as example.
When I connect as the user and try to create a table, I get this:
SQL> create table T1 (NAME varchar2 (500), AGE number(2));
create table T1 (NAME varchar2 (500), AGE number(2))
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01950: no privileges on tablespace 'EXAMPLE'
How can I grant the necessary privilege to have user create/delete tables on tablespace example?

create user ADAM identified by radge default tablespace EXAMPLE
quota 10M on EXAMPLE;
for example 10Mbytes given to Example tablespace.... or you can write:
.....quota unlimited on EXAMPLE
and
grant connect to ADAM
grant create table to ADAM .....
or
grant connect , resource to ADAM .... although grant resource is not recommended...
....and something else....
you should define temporary tablespace in create user command... otherwise the system would be used...

If you want table name to be more than 30 Char.
I am sure,your naming convention is not upto the mark.
Its not possible in 10g as well as in 11g.
