Create user during Down Time

Hi,
We are facing a problem during phase PMVNTAB_UPG, at this point shadow instance is no longer used and the system has been switched to the new version (6.0).
The problem exists with a Z view that does not exists in the database and we did enter using SE11 to the system but the only users allowed to enter the system are SAP* and DDIC, other users are not permited and an "Upgrade in progress" error do not let anybody else to enter.
I tried to create a user copied from DDIC but when trying to save the user an abap dump shows up and I can´t save the user. At this point I´m not sure if creating a new user won´t heart anything and in fact I´m waiting for SAP response to the problem because we can ignore this view as long as it is not used at all.
Now the question, have sombody ever used the UPGADDUSR
report to create the user upg_tmp_user? this is supposed to be a user valid only during a week that can be used to solve this kind of problems. I haven´t run the report but I guess it won´t work as it will probably come up with the same abap dump that SU01 gave me.
Thanks,

Ok, I found how to unlock the system so we are able to enter to the system.
I use tp unlocksys... and tp_locksys as per note 1062559

  • Creating User Accounts on Time Capsule

Just got my Time Capsule. It's beautiful! My situation: I will be the only one using the disk for a TM backup. Other users just want to store data on the drive. Is there a way to limit access to user data? I don't everyone to be able to see all my files.
    Thanks for the help.

    getmilton wrote:
It's actually not that hard. Open the Airport Utility. Select the Time Capsule. Then select Manual Setup>Disks>File Sharing>Secure Shared Disks>With Accounts
Then click Configure Accounts. You'll see a + sign. Add an account. I used my User name and password, for ease. Update the station and you're set.
A warning: Once you create the account you will only be able to see the data in your User folder on the TC.
in my case i see things a little differently.
in the sidebar I click on "Time Capsule" and it asks me to connect as (me). I then see 2 shares:
    1) "time capsule" and
    2) "me" (i.e. the/whatever account name i used/setup using the airport util per same method you describe)
    1) is public to all (other users on my mac)
    2) is restricted to the user / pwd combination i set up in the airport util
maybe this is a function/result of the fact that when i first setup the TC i didn't set up accounts, dropped a few files on the the drive, then set up a account...?
meanwhile it is all moot because i can't get Time Machine to work with the TC - backup fails because of link errors :s

  • Uninterruptible count down timer!

    Hi
I'm a newbe in Labview and I have the followning problem: When a event occurs a signal should should "stay high" for at least 30 sec.
So I need an uninterruptible count down timer! - that is when an event accours (boolean true/false) a count down timer should start! and NOT stop even when the boolean changes!! I have tried different approaches! and I can figure out have to create a count down timer! but NOT one that keeps going when the boolean "changes back"?????  hope you know what I mean?

SInce you say "for at least 30 sec", the precision does not seem too important and its not worth to spin fast loops.
You could just grab the current millisecond, then in a leisurly loop check every 500ms or so if the elapsed time exceeeds your timeout.
You could just set an occurence when the event occurs, then use "wait on occurence" with the desired time wired as timeout. Now just wait until it times out.
Another possibility would be to use the timeout case of an event structure.

  • OIM Provisioning - Error during OID Create User Task

    Hi,
I am getting the following error during OIM Provisioning to OID (Create User Task).
I added few more attributes to the OID_USR form and then to the "OID User" Process Definition.
Also, I added the Code/Decode Key Values in AttrName.Prov.Map.OID.
    DEBUG,08 Dec 2010 21:19:04,547,[XELLERATE.SERVER],Class/Method: tcDataBase/readPartialStatement entered.
ERROR,08 Dec 2010 21:19:04,555,[XELLERATE.ADAPTERS],Class/Method: tcAdapterMappingUtility/getRunTimeVariable Mappings encounter some problems: No data available for variable having key = 350
ERROR,08 Dec 2010 21:19:04,555,[XELLERATE.ADAPTERS],Class/Method: tcAdapterMappingUtility/getRunTimeVariable Mappings encounter some problems: No data available for variable having key = 350
java.lang.Exception: No data available for variable having key = 350
Earlier, before adding these attributes, the OID Create User Task was working. So I belive this is from the newly added attributes.
    Questions:
    - How to identity the attribute with this key? It looks like some of the attribute values that it gets during Run Time is not populated correctly. Any suggestions?
    - "key = 350"- Is there a database table that this gets stored? SPD? or anything else?
    Regards
    Vijay Chinnasamy

    @Keviin,
I added 13 new attributes and corresponding "* Updated" Tasks.
For all these, ProcessInstanceKey is mapped to Process Data -> Process Instance.
I am going to validate the mappings again. Also, I noticed, some of the fields that I am prepopulating is not populated.

  • How i can create multiple users at a time (User Administration) in EP

    Hi
I need to create multiple users at a time. How can i do that through User Administration in EP.
Please also tell me about import option in User Administration

    Hi,
    1.  First of all create a master user based on which you can create multiple users.
    2.  when you are done with it  export (by selecting the option at user creation) it.
    3.  you can see some text in a window copy it create  a txt file with it, and add as many users as you want
by cpoy pasting the text multiple times and making necessary change as per the names etc...
    4. save the txt file.
    5. goto import option you were talking about and import the text file and update it.
    6. As it gets updated you are done with the creation of multiples users.
If you  get stuck somewhere  feel free to  let me know.
if  this answer satisfies your need, award points and close the thread.

  • How to audit a user at same time it is created?

Hi, I got a problem and I hope someone can help me.
Is there any way of auditing a user at same time it is created?
For example I create the user "Eddy" and I want this account to be automatically audited so I don't have to execute "audit session username;" each time a new user is created.

I wasn't aware but it seems that most of DDL operations are not available directly from system triggers. Anyway, you can log the user created in a table (stored in ora_dict_obj_name) for being processed later with a scheduled job.
All in all, it seems much more easier to use two sentences create + audit.

  • Error in creating Java Users during Solution Manager installation

    Hi gurus,
First time trying to install SAP.
    Red Hat Linux 4
    Oracle
    jdk 1.4.2_11
While installing the Solution Manager, it errored when it was creating Java Users, SAPJSF, J2EE_ADMIN and J2EE_GUEST.
The error description read "jco$exception: rfc_error_system_failure: invalid request".
I want to create these users manually and continue with the rest of process.
I searched lots of entries, notes, etc., but somehow, my "old" pair of eyes (and brains, too) failed to come up with something I could understand.
So, gurus, please help, help, help!!
There are no GUI version of anything installed, no Virtual Admin, no nothing like that. I have to rely on good old unix (Linux) command to do (add users) this.
Can you please, please post the instructions (step-by-step)? Please have a pity on me since this is my very first time dealing with SAP.
    Thanks and regards.

Creating users manually is not the intension of the SAP Installation tool. There are other solutions available
A good starting point is to check if SELinux is enabled or disabled. I've seen lots of broken installations on Red Hat because SELinux does not allow the installer to create users. Check if in /etc/selinux/config  the setting
    SELINUX=disabled
    is set.
I see, that you are using JDK 1.4.2_11. Is this the Sun JDK? In case you are on x86_64 you have to use the IBM JDK instead. You can download it from <a href="https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/iwm/web/reg/download.do?source=lxdk&S_PKG=amd64142sr7&S_TACT=105AGX05&S_CMP=JDK&lang=en_US&cp=UTF-">here</a> .
Also a new SAPINST may help. The current Installation Master CD can you download here:

  • Regarding R/3 down time during the INIT Run

    Hi All,
Please let me know the methods to reduce to R/3 Down time during the INIT Run.
What happends if the tables( Setup / Update) are not locked in R/3 during the INIT Run.
    Your help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

    Hi,
    To conclude..
    In Direct delta:
note that no documents can be posted during delta initialization procedure from the start of the recompilation run in R/3 (setup tables filling job) until all records have been successfully updated in BW: every document posted in the meantime is irrecoverably lost.
    In Queued delta:
The document postings (relevant for the involved application) can be opened again as soon as the execution of the recompilation run (or runs, if several and running in parallel) ends, that is when setup tables are filled, and a delta init request is posted in BW, because the system is able to collect new document data during the delta init uploading too (with a deeply felt recommendation: remember to avoid update collective run before all delta init requests have been successfully updated in your BW!).
don’t forget that, regardless of the update method selected, it’s ALWAYS necessary to stop any document postings (for the relevant application) during setup tables recompilation run !
    Hope its clear.
    reward if helpful.
    shylaja.

  • URGENT: Creating LIST item during design time.

    Hi All,
Is it possible to create LIST item [with MultiSelect option] during design time. The Developer guide has only programmatic implementation. So, Please let me know, whether its possible or not.
    Thanks.

Yes, it has to be done programatically only. There is no property in the Property pallet to do this declaratively as of now.

  • Can I switch users during time machine backup?

I have a laptop with multiple users.
I am trying to do a Time Machine back-up using a fire-wire connected western digital drive.
Either because I had not backed up in a few weeks, or had updated to 10.7.2, I am not sure, but when I connected the drive to do a backup Time Machine started doing a deep scan.
The preparing phase took several (over 5) hours before the backup would start, but it finally did begin backing up.
It is trying to back up 8 GB of files and is taking a very long time. It backed up 1.5 of 8 GB over the course of the entire day.
Then my kids came home from school and switched to their users.
Looking at the logs, it looks like the backup got canceled when we switched users.
After switching back to the admin user, I am back to the preparing phase again.
I thought you could log out, swtich users etc with Time Machine.
Can someone explain this behavior to me?
    Thank you

I just wanted to update all after my experieces:
Time Machine was not the problem. The problem was a defective WD external firewire drive (WD Green drive) which has since been replaced under warantee. Thank you WD for your comiitment.
Whenever I used this drive, I could hear it chugging and chugging away during mount and whenever I was accessing the drive.
I finally checked the drive (WD My Book) with DISK WARRIOR and the thing was toast. Tons of unrepairable hardware errors.
Thankfully the drive was under warantee and after receiving a replacement from WD (no issues with RMA replacement process, kudos to WD) have had ZERO issues with time machine and the replacement drive.
Initial 1st time- time machine backup was ~ 5 hours. (~120 GB of info). (I added the drive to spotlight 'do not index' prefs prior to setting up time machine.)
-This was a HUGE time difference. My prior initial backup with the defective drive was 3 DAYS, yes, DAYS.
If you are having these kind of problems, check you drive with Disk Warrior (Disk Utitlty does not cut it). If Disk Warrior reports problems, it is a hassle, but replace the drive.
    Good luck. Karma +1

  • Can we change values process data during create user running

    hi guru,
can be idm change the value in during create user running.
i have case in my idm :
in my Task Create user code have to checking user in target system, if the USERID already in target system , my code will be update the USERID+ INCREMENT 1.
so if the USERID+ INCREMENT 1 is OK . my code will be inserted to target system.
    my problem is :
The Task to Generate have any task can be running if my task create user is successfully. the name of the task is CreateUserDB
why in my task CreateUserDB . the UserID Value still used USERID not USERID+ INCREMENT 1
can i used setProcessform to update value USERID in my Task Create user in my code or .??
    thank's
    darvesth

What i would suggest is you create a pre-populate adapter for this User ID Field. In the adapter, use your code to pass in the current user's oim User Login. Then perform whatever validation is needed to see if the user id exists. If it does, increment your value. Then return the User ID you want to use. Then your create user task will use this value in it's process.

  • Can not create user in Times Ten 7

    Hi All,
I have installed Oracle Times Ten 7.0.4 in my machine. To connect to the databse I have used "connect RunDataCS_tt70_32;" which I found from the ODBC. (I even dont know whether this the correct way to connect or not). Now I have tried to create a user (" create user prashant identified by 'p1'; ") but the command failed saying "15007: Access control not enabled".
Can anybody tell me how can I create a user in Times Ten.
    Thanks,
    Prashant

To be able to create users and have access control applied you must install TimesTen with Access Control enabled (it is an optional feature). When you did your install you replied no (or took the default) to the question 'Do you want to enable Access Control?' (or you did not tick the relevant check box if you are using Windows).
You can enable Access Control for your installation by running the command
    ttmodinstall -enableAccessControl
you need to do this as the instance administrator user (the O/S user who installed the TimesTen instance).
I would strongly advise that you read through the TimesTen QuickStart Guide and other tutorial on the TimesTen OTN site beofre trying to use TimesTen as it will save you a lot of time and many questions to this forum :-)

  • Creating FBA user from the timer job

    Hi,
I'm trying to create FBA users from the timer job,
    The code to it:
    MembershipCreateStatus createStatus;
    MembershipUser user = Membership.CreateUser(strUserID, strPassword, strEmail, "Test Question", "Test Answer", true, out createStatus);
    switch (createStatus)
    case MembershipCreateStatus.Success:
    //SendMail
    break;
    case MembershipCreateStatus.DuplicateEmail:
//Log in to the error file
    break;
    But it throws the error:
Unable to connect to SQL Server database in the timer job
    Regards,
    Sachin

timer job has its own app.config, which is completely separate from the web.config
plus, this is a terrible idea.
