Create view that shows resource work in hours per month for top level tasks on the project

I'm relatively new to project so hopefully this is easy.
The management for the organization I am working at now wants me to break out every resource on the projects hours by top level tasks per month. Resource usage gets very close but I can't figure out how to make it show only the top level tasks. Does anyone
have any ideas on how to do this?

Hi Nick,
I'd suggest (assuming you're working with Project Standard, not connected to Project Server) to generate a visual Excel report (project tab of the ribbon, then visual report), choosing the Budget work report template. Then in Excel, inserting the resource
and task column, you'll see the work consolidated at any task level by resources.

I have a Time Reporting site where users log in their time twice a month.This site uses only Out Of Box functionality. There is no scope for coding in my site.
In the list i have created a view which shows the Time Report of the user logged in for the current month only.
There is a new requirement : Current month's Time Report should be visible to the users in the next month for 5 starting days of the month only so that users can edit this month's Time Report in the next month's 1st 5days incase they forget to edit it in
the current month.
e.g: If i am absent on the last day of the month , my time report for this month(March) should be visible for 5 days in April so that i can stiil edit March's time report. However after 5days the Time Report for March should not be visible. After 5days only
April's time report will be visible when submitted(April's time report).
Please can anybody help me out with this.

Hi Guru, you have a couple of options: 1) set a retention schedule through the list's settings> Information Management Policy Settings. Where the start date < start date + 35.
2) create a view and filter by the date like above.
These aren't perfect scenarios, but will get you close to what you want.

I have a computer running windows vista that I pay per month for photoshop, I want to use photoshop on two other computers I have, not that it matters but they are both identical hardware wise, and software one runs xp and the other runs vista, I can upgrade but I am not intrested in other os. When I attempt to download I am told that my os is no longer supported. Now i know that I could find an offline version and should be able to get it installed but im not sure of a safe site that provides the iso or install exe. Michaelt65951582 I am sorry but you will need to run at least the minimum operating system to use Photoshop. You can find the system requirements at System requirements | Photoshop. I would recommend upgrading to Windows 7 or later. You may find that your computer can support the more recent operating system depending upon the hardware installed.

According to your description, you are using Enterprise Core edition and you are prompted that you can’t use remote data sources.
In your scenario, we neither ignore your point nor be doubt with what you say. But actually we have met the case before that even though the SQL Server engine is Enterprise but the reporting services is still standard. So I would recommend you to find the
actual edition of reporting services you are using. You can find Reporting Services starting SKU in the Reporting Service logs ( default location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\<instance name>\Reporting Services\LogFiles). For more information,

This Could be a double hop problem or some thing could have gone wrong with your SPN
This could also be non trusted Service Account under which your SQL Server is running

Why do the LabVIEW examples that use the queue design have one loop in the top level and all the others as subvis?

Specifically the Weather Monitor example under connectivity/Web Services and the FPGA design examples.
There are several parallel loops. One of the parallel loops will be in the top level VI. The others are all in sub-VIs. After the third example I was looking at it seemed obvious this was being done as a standard, but I don't know why it matters.
Why not all of them as SubVIs? Why not all of them as top level loops? (Well OK maybe not that one.)

For me, it depends on what is happening in the parallel loops. When I have modules that just need to run in parallel with the main loop, it helps reusability to have it a a subVI call. I can then just copy that library to another project and use it.

I need to create a view tha displays all work items assigned to me and my group. And I sill need to sorte this queue by the target date calculated by the SLO. Anyone know a solution?
I've tried to create a query based on SLAInstanceInformation class, but when I click the record the related work item does not open your form. Have also tried to create based on work item class, but your relathionship WorkItemHasSLAInstanceInformation is
1 to n.

I had never created a custom task. I did the following steps:
1. I made a dll with the following code and compiled successfully.

I would like to create a database object "View" to hand it over to a user and run the script. How I would create a a view that would accept an update statement. Are any work around to accomplish this goal

Not quite sure what you want to achieve.
However, if your view displays rows from a single table and each row relates to exactly one row in the source table (no aggregates, no join, no transformation) then you can update it. The update will be executed on the table it refers to.
If you view is more complex, contains joins, aggregates and such, you can create a trigger on it to update the base table(s).
The conditions for a view to be updatable are a little more complex then what I wrote but you can find it here under "updatable view":

In the end, you would have a view which displays rows and can be updated.
If all you want is to modify rows without viewing them then HuaMin Chen's solution is the one for you, create a stored procedure instead.

"Image Viewer" slide show wont work.
