Create WebServices invoking a Report (with params)
I'm using oracle reports 9iAs on a web appl; another one need to call my reports. My idea is create a Web Service that run my reports. It's possible? Oracle Reports support Web Services?

actually starting with 9.0.4, oracle reports serivices provides a web service with similar functionality as the reports servlet. if you want to create your own web service, you would create one that submits URLs to the servlet, or use the servlet directly via HTTP url to submit the requests.

Go to Solution.You can use Parameters.Step.Name to get the failed step name. You can also use something like Parameters.Step.StepType.Name == "NI_MultipleNumericLimitTest" to filter different types of steps.
As far as finding the entire failure chain...
You can check RunState.CallStackDepth to see how many callers deep you are. Based on that information you can use RunState.Caller.Caller.(continued for however many callers deep you are).RunState.Step.Name or .Sequence.Name
So if the CallStackDepth is 1, you would only need to use one Caller. If it was 2, you would need to recursively use 1 Caller and then 2 Callers and so on.

create a custom PF status and create push buttons and assign your ok codes in your PF status.

How to create user editable Crystal Report with dynamic dataset
What I would like to achieve:
A program loads a report in runtime updates list of database fields (possibly includes sample data), open report in "Crystal Reports 2011" (or 2008) where user customizes report and saves it. Later on the program loads the report, fills actualized data and displays it in .net report viewer.
What I do:

How to create a matrix like report with description column

currently i have two tables - one describing a job and another describing the stock. it is a simple relation where a job uses stock.
i join job and stock using stock_code. there are three categories of stock - namely envelope, insert, stationary.
i wish to create a cross tab report - basically i would like it to look like

unfortunately this doesn't give me exactly the output i want. i would like it to show the first piece of stock in each category on the first line, and each subsequent stock on the line after that for each job group. my solution at the moment will put the stock in the corresponding stock category column but i have been unable to find a solution to removing the blank space.
i have created the matrix report in developer and it can do what i want, however, it will not show the description for insert only. the way i have grouped it, it wants to show it all, and being a reports newbie i have no idea how to fix that
any solutions would be very much appreciated!This feature is supported in MS Access and known as CROSSTAB through TRANSFORM function.
In Oracle this exists but not in a elegant way as in MS.
You have addition function GROUP BY ROLLUP and CUBE and GROUP BY GROUPING SETS, available in 10g, which can help you.

Create new sheets in report with script?
Is it possible to create new sheets in the report using VBscripts?
I am writing a script that will create a report with different sheets. The number of sheets in the report will change in each report depending on the number of groups added in the data portal. For example: If there are 3 channel groups in the data portal I will need 3 sheets in the report.
I searched for the instructions but I could not find how to do it.
And another question: how can I insert the name of a channel group in the report?
I am using DIAdem 9.0.

I am taking assumption that you have already merged both the table at report level on common column.
So for Analyst column in report you want to display :

Else IF dbo.MetricRequestTeam.MetricRoleTypeKey = ‘4’ THEN "Analyst"
Am i Right??
For this just create a variable ( I think here it will be a Dimension) with following formula:
=If([Column_Name] =2) then "Lead"
Else (IF([Column_Name] =4 then "Analyst" else "None")))
Drag this variable to analyst column it will give you desired values.
Points to remember:
If the data type of column "dbo.MetricRequestTeam.MetricRoleTypeKey" is string then put "2" or "4" in formula else it will give you #syntax error.
Alternatively you can also give following formula:
=If([Column_Name] InList ("2") ; "Lead";
(IF([Column_Name] InList("4") ; "Analyst" ; "None")))

Problem refreshing reports with params in the Interactive viewer from ASP
I have a problem getting reports to refresh by clicking the Interactive Viewer's refresh button and reusing the supplied parameters. I am seeing this exact same problem on both V9.2 and 11.5 unmanaged RAS servers.

If I set viewer.EnableParameterPrompt = false then I get an erro upon clicking the viewer's refresh button (error is: Missing parameter values. webReporting.dll error '8004100e' ), but if I set viewer.EnableParameterPrompt = true, then I get the automatically generated prompts appear but they are all empty. Either way, RAS doesn't remember the supplied parameters. I know the parameters are being read by RAS as the report's contents prove this fact, but they are not remembered after refreshing. If the automatically generated prompts are filled in and submitted, subsequent refreshes work correctly.
How do I get the report viewer to reuse the parameters that have been set programmatically after a refresh? BTW, changing my implementation to anything other than using ASP against an unmanaged RAS server is not an option at this time.

I want to have an Interactive report that will have in front of each row a checkbox that can be selected for batch processing. Is there a way to do so?
If there is please include some method to process those records i.e. for each selected record create a new record on a different table and update the record itself as processed.

I wish to create objects in my DIAdem reports such as text boxes, frames, pictures, and graphs using VB Script. I know I can use the command "GraphObjNew(ObjType, GraphObjName)". But where can I find a list of ObjTypes? For example, I know that if I want to create a 2D Graph, the ObjType is "2D-Axis". However, if I want to create a text box, I do not know what to pass as the ObjType parameter.

Is it possible to create a new crystal report with java?
Do you have some classnames, methodenames, etc that bring me back on the right track?
I found: "With the latest versions of Crystal, there is no way to actually allow your users to create a report. There used to be a COM component called "RDC", but that was deprecated with Crystal XI and is no longer available."
My Version is Crystal Reports 2008 - is this still up to date?

You can then find samples for Report Modification [here|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsJava+SDKSamples#CrystalReportsJavaSDKSamples-ReportModification]
Generally you need to start with loading an rpt file, but this report can be blank. -
Executing a Webi report with input parameters
How can I schedule a BO4 webi report dynamically? I have a set of tables which contains the required parameters for the reports and I need implement a mechanism which will invoke these reports with the parameters. Then I would want the reports to be placed at a specified location. I am told that this can be achieved using webservices integration. I just dont know how. Please advise.
