Create WiFi-profile on iOS

I am working with the setup of MDM with intune to a bunch of iPhone 6's.
Generelley everything works until now. So far so god.
But i have discovered, that when i try to create a wifi-policy, I am not able to enter the Preshared key. The network is a standard WPA2 with preshared key.
How do I create this network on the phones, so that the users do not have to do this.
(Solutions is with Intune and Azure AD - No SCCM)

You can't do this. You cannot deploy the profile with the key (only the profile itself). Users will have to enter the key on first connection.

you might be able to block it if the app uses Internet access
and depending on your wireless you might be able to block a specific user

some firewalls offer application filtering but I'm not aware of any that work with ios apps

• IOS WiFi profile

I have deployed a WiFi profile to an iOS device which for whatever reason doesn't work. I now need to remove it as it is preventing me from joining our corporate WiFi through the traditional method. Technet advises that removing the deployment (which
i have) will not remove the profile and that it must be removed manually. However, in the profile section i do not have the option to do this. Any ideas without having to remove the entire management profile?
On a separate note, when changing a setting in the configuration item is anyone else finding that they are waiting for hours for the change to be reflected on the device if at all?

I know this is old but I’m trying to clean up old posts. Did you ever solve this? If so it would be good if you could post the solution to assist others. If not, at this stage,
as nobody has answered, I would recommend that you call Intune support.
You will find your local Intune support number here

MacBook Pro that my Airport Express WiFi profile was created crashed. Can i reset the Airport Express either to an iPad or Windows 7 computer?

Get the Airport Utility for the your iPad from the App store. You will need to know the password for the Airport Express (not the WiFi password) to access the AE. The iPad utility will, I think, do all of the actions to control your AE.
You can reset the AE back to factory default but with the iPad app you should not ned to.

seem to have lost my WiFi profile on my Macbook air. How do I create another profile, or get the old one back?

The profile will automatically be added back again when you connect to the network again. Here, I assume that you have a check mark in the box next to Remember networks this computer has joined.
If the box is checked and the network does not appear, then there may be an operating system problem with your Mac.
That would be beyond the scope of what we handle here with the AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule, so you would want to post in the appropriate operating system community to follow up on that.

• SCCM 2012 R2 / Wifi Profiles

Hi
New to SCCM with this release, so apologies if this is a newbie question. Searching doesn't turn up very much!
I am evaluating pushing Wifi profiles to mobile devices using the Intune connector. All seems to be set up and working OK, however I don't seem to be able to create any Wifi profiles that use Pre Shared Keys. Is this correct, or
am I missing something obvious?
If this is the case, please can anyone shed any light on why this might be the case, and whether there are any tweaks / workarounds / 3rd party addons that might be able to do so?
Many thanks for looking
Jon

What's the device type ? (Android,Ios, WP)
There's some restriction depending of the device type.

• Since upgrade to IOS 10.9 and associated iTunes 11.1.3, I can no longer WiFi sync iPad (IOS 7.0.3) nor iPhone (IOS 6.1.3). USB connection is required. Formerly I could sync both devices without locating them physically (not necessarily charging).

Since upgrade to OS 10.9 and associated iTunes 11.1.3, I can no longer WiFi sync iPad (IOS 7.0.3) nor iPhone (IOS 6.1.3). USB connection is required. Formerly I could sync both devices without locating them physically (not necessarily charging). I have restarted both devices, turned off and on "Sync with this iPad/iPhone over WIFI" and restarted WiFi. WiFi is operating (iPad has no SIM). What next?

I'm also affected by this bug in exactly the same way as you.
Some users have had success by closing iTunes, enetering (on OS 10.9) settings --> network --> edit locations, then create a new location with the same wifi/network settings. Then restarting iTunes.
Others have had some success by editing settings --> iCloud --> de-selecting keychain
neither of these fixes have worked for me.
It appears that the iPad can "see" iTunes running on my iMac because when I open settings --> general --> 'iTunes wifi sync', "sync now" is greyed out if iTunes is not running. When iTunes is started, "sync now" is enabled but just doesn't work. Nor does the iPad appear in iTunes.

• 802.1X WiFi profiles

Hi,
I recently upgraded my Late 2011 Macbook Pro 17" to the 10.7.3 and since my WiFi profiles have disappeared. The reason I set up profiles is because I have to go via a proxy at work, and at home my router connects straight to the internet.
I have imported the profiles again and Lion seems to use everything except the proxy settings. The profiles were created using iPhone Configuration Utility 3.5 and they work perfectly on my iPhone.
I have reset the PRAM and SMC and also reinstalled the combo update for 10.7.3.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue, or how to make the make switch between using the proxy and not, without me having to do anything?
Thanks

• Wifi Profiles with PreShared Key

Hey everyone,
I have a client with some pretty basic requirements that would like to see from SCCM/Intune. One of those is the ability to deploy WPA2-PSK Wireless profiles to newly enrolled Intune devices (iOS, Android, and WP8). They would like to deploy
the PSK as part of this process so they don't have to hand out the key to everyone. I see there isn't a way in the interface to configure a WPA profile with the PSK. Does anyone know if this possible any other way?
If not I guess unless your not broadcasting your SSID, what would be the advantage of deploying a WPA-PSK WiFi profile versus the user just selecting the SSID and clicking connect themselves from whatever device they are on? Maybe I am missing something?
Thanks!

Hi,
No you are correct it is currently not possible.. The only benefit of deploying the WIFI profile is that the device will connect to it automatically but still you would have to enter the password.

• Wifi profiles SCCM 2012 R2 and Windows Intune

Hi All,
A quick question regarding SCCM 2012 R2 and the new Wifi Profiles feature...
Can anyone confirm if you need windows Intune combined with SCCM 2012 R2 to be able to deploy WIFI profiles to users devices i.e Windows 8.1, IOS and Android platforms? Microsoft documentation is not clear on this subject.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards PowerShell90

It not as straight forward as one would hope. I am running the latest version of SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 connected to my Windows Intune subscription. There are a lot of hickups. One is that the direct of management needs to be all or nothing. In other words you
either need to use Windows Intune solely to manage your devices or SCCM 2012 R2 (via connector). If the later then you must do everything from in SCCM 2012 R2. You cannot hybrid manage your devices as this will screw things up.
Android for some reason is left out on a lot of features. I would think that MS Devs would work hard on the market share that being Android, not iOS. Any way, accord to some official MS articles Android is supported, but others claim that not all features
are, these being the important ones like Email and Wi-Fi Profiles. They simply do not work.
I think MS is heading in the right direction but there is a lot of work that needs to be done before this is a competitive product. I could care less if connects to my SCCM 2012 R2 server or not. Here are few things that I sent o a MS Support Rep today that
need to be address.
1. Better response time when updating devices after enrollment (e.g. Name change).
2. The ability to locked down uninstalling Windows Intune from device.
3. The ability to locked down certain features in the Windows Intune app on device (e.g. User can reset device with Windows Intune app, rename, etc...).
4. Ability to rename device in either Windows Intune Admin Portal and/or SCCM 2-12 R2.

• Create Separate Profiles?

Hello,
I really like Safari, and want to make it my default browser.
But here's the thing: my wife has a whole set of bookmarks she keeps, and I have a whole other set. We also have a few different preferences.
How do I make it so we can each sign into Safari with a different set of bookmarks and other preferences?
I've been using Firefox, because it allows this "profile" feature. But I'm ready to switch.
Someone tell me how to create separate profiles in Safari!
Thanks.

Hi,
Someone tell me how to create separate profiles in Safari!
You can't I'm afraid. Firefox inherited that feature from the old days when people usually didn't have different user accounts on their home PCs.
The only way to do what you want is to create a new user account for yourself or your wife and use your own accounts going forward. From a safety/security standpoint it's recommended anyway - you can't accidentally delete her things and vice-versa. Depending on the access rights each account has it can also mitigate damage from malware/viruses as well.

• Apple TV unable to join network without creating a profile.

I am trying to connect my Apple TV to the WiFi network at my university. There are several networks. When I try to connect to the main network which I connect my laptop to, it says I must create a profile. I followed the steps on the Apple TV support website to create a profile but it was unable to be installed on my Apple TV because of two errors which said that it was unable to activate the profile. When I try to connect to the other two networks, it says that the connection is successful but is unable to set the date or time and is otherwise unable to perform any functions that require internet. I am not able to restore my Apple TV because it says I need to install the latest update first, which requires internet connection. I have tried resetting the Apple TV multiple times.

If the school network requires login via webpage then that will not be possible. You will need to speak to the IT dept in order to get onto the network.

• HT5437 issues with Apple Configurator 1.3 and provisioning (wifi profiles)

I had a configuration profile which worked well using the previous version of apple configurator. Now with the new version something has changed, so it does not work anymore.
The documentation on how to provisioning a profile to the apple TV is still the same, eventhough the GUI and the procedures have changed in "Apple Configurator". Can you please help me, understanding the changes that have been made to v1.3, in order to properly create and provision the wifi profile to the apple tv, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5437
thank you

Have you check the following?
Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings
Ensure that your device is using the latest software.
If your issue is still unresolved, perform a software restore in iTune

• How can i use "phone relay" on a iPad mini over iPhone created wifi hotspot?

How can i use "phone relay" on a iPad mini over iPhone created wifi hotspot?
It works nicely over home wifi, but for example, i am sitting in my car, phone is in my pocket and I'm using the iPad, call comes in and i don't want to start digging for my phone.
Is there any way?
devices:
iPad mini cellular (no SIM card at the moment)
iPhone 5S
Thanks!

well yes, but it basically makes wifi for the other devices, it basically mimics wifi.
as i get from your answer, it is not possible?
it would be common sense to make it work this way also. directly from device to device. no bounce between WiFi router
Then again, common sense is not that common these days...
