Create with Approval User Editing an Item once approved.

Can a user with create with approval privilege go and edit the
item once it is
approved and then kick off the approval process again. At the
moment, through
trial and error, the user with create with approval privilege
has to add a "new" item
and cannot go back and edit.

When testing the 'Create with Approval' functionality in Oracle Portal (3.0.8),I found that sometimes (not always) items that not yet has been approved is shown to unauthorised users through a folder portlet in a portal page. When I navigate the content area, everything works as expected (Items awaiting approval is hidden from users without proper access rights). Have anyone else experienced a similar problem ? Could this have somrthing to do with the page caching content from content area ?

I have tested some more, I am now able to reproduce the problem at will.
It seems to me that the problem has something to do with the server caching page content (even though my page setup is: Cache page definition only).
If a user who has the privilige to se items avaiting approval is the first one to request a portal page containing a folder portlet after the content has changed (complete reload from database), he can see items awaiting approval in the portal page. If another user who does not have this privilige then access the same page, he will also see the items avaiting approval !!
If the public user access the page first, he cannot se item awaiting approval. Now the person who has the privilige cannot se them either until he provokes a complete reload of the content from the database by customizing a portlet on the page, editing content or similar actions.
I have tested this by using two computers that way eliminating that this is a problem with local cache.

Create with approval - Does notification work

When we set a user with privileges "create with approval" on a folder and he tries adding a item to this folder is the owner send out a notification mentioning x items await approval?
Is there any setup that needs to be done before having this notification functionality working?
Right now when an item is created by such a user the only way the folder owner knows about items awaiting approval is after logging into the portal and navigating to appropriate content area.

If you are the content area administrator or a user with approver privileges and you don't want to approve, then it means you don't want the item to be part of the content area. So, you can always afford to delete it.

New Apps User defaults with all User Edition Privileges - Security Breach?

Please check the following Scenario/Issue and please let me know if anyone has a solution for it.
1. In Apps, created following Responsibilities
- Payables Inquiry-Only User
- Projects Inquiry-Only User
2. In Discoverer Admin, Tools->Privileges, assigned following privilege to "Payables Inquiry-Only User"
- User Edition Parent only (unchecked all child privileges such as Create/Edit Query)
3. In Discoverer Admin, Tools->Security, mapped following Responsibilities/Business Areas (BA)
- Resp: Payables Inquiry-Only User BA: AP Payables
- Resp: Projects Inquiry-Only User BA: PA Projects
4. In Apps, created user DISC_INQUIRY_USER, assigned following responsibilities
- Payables Inquiry-Only User
- Projects Inquiry-Only User
5. At this stage, if user connects to User Edition;
- user is able to create new query in BA: AP Payables or BA: PA Projects depending on login Responsibility
- By default Discoverer assigns all User Edition Privileges to new Apps User including Create/Edit Query

1. Create new Apps User DISC_INQUIRY_USER, assign it Inquiry-Only Responsbilities
2. Login to User Edition - DISC_INQUIRY_USER: Payables Inquiry-Only User
- User can inquiry Workbooks associated with Resp: Payables Inqiry-Only user
- Should not be able to create new workbooks

Issue
There is time-gap between creating Apps User and login to Discoverer Admin to remove user privileges. This is security Breach, is their any way to change get around it.
- Discoverer gives precedence to Responsibility Privileges over User Privileges. Is their any way to change it?
- Is it possible to change default Privileges for new Apps User?
- I am facing this issue in Discoverer 4.1.48, Does discoverer Admin behaves differently in latest Versions?

and after that all became right.
Now please explain me this bug. And I have question - which privileges have IDs 1013 and 1018?

Order - create with reference - more information in Item selection ??

Hi all:
We are using "Copy control " from Quotation to Sales order..., it works OK.
But we are facing a problem now... The user used to copy all Quotation as 1 SO and now they need to choose the specific items.
So, they using VA01 -> Create with reference -> Item selection -> "Then Choose items"
But the screen only has information about "Item/Material No./Material description and Open quantiry"... not enought for user, they need more info like Plant, batch ... to choose the item.... any setting can make it??
I have tried "Table setting" and IMG but found nothing !!
I know we can copy all first and remove it, but is there any way we can choose them from "Item selection"...

Can users edit Library items?

Hi everyone. I'm almost done with my first Contribute site
and I had a question. My client has a small piece of text that is
shown in the header of every page and this text is something that
they want to change regularly. I added a Library item for this
chunk in Dreamweaver thinking that this would be the proper way to
allow them to edit it in one place in Contribute.
I found where I can grant permissions for editing the various
types of shared assets, but I don't see that they can edit the
Library item. Is there a way to do this or do I need to set this up
differently (server-side include, etc.)?

I think you should use a SSI in your Template and provide
your user with a link to that include-file, so they can edit it in
Contribute.

AUTO PO print out creates spool with RFC user.

We have classic scenario where AUTO SRM PO print out spool is create with RFC user. While PO data is passing to R/3 is correct with correct user (created_by). Out put is created on the name with RFC user not with user who create SRM SC& PO. BADI BBP_CREATE_PO_BACK will help?

Do they use custom PO SAPScript/Smartform?
If they do, you may want to check the print program (custom one) and the custom PO form. Perhaps there is some logic to set/display with the european decimal notation.
If they don't, you can also check the print program setting and do debugging (if necessary) to find out the logic to assign european decimal notation.

Dear All
I want PR item valuation price is to be copied in to the PO item as net price, when this PO item is being created with reference to a PR item.
This is required for both materials PR items and Service PR items
Presently for material PRs, system is coping the prices from material master, whereas for services no prices are copied as I am not following any service master.
I want prices directly from PR item. Is this possible in SAP (ECC 6.0)?

1. Go to SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Authorization Management > Define Function Authorizations for Buyers > Function Authorizations: Purchase Order > Here "New Entries" and define Function Authorization Key as "01" and give description.

Here under "General parameters" subscreen, cctivate "Adopt PO Price" indicator and select "Enter conditions"
In "Possible ref. objects", select "W/o reference" otherwise reference documents (for e.g. PR, RFQ, etc...) for PO creation will become mandatory.
2. Now go to SU01 > Enter User ID > Parameters Tab > Here for Parameter ID EFB i.e. Function Authorization: Purchase Order, maintain value "01" and check in PO, PR will become mandatory for that user.
3. Now during creation of PR in ME51N, under "Valuation" Tab, you will get option for PO Price Adoption as Net or Gross. Select as per your requirement and it will copy Price to PO.

Service Desk: Message from Sat.- to SolMan with different users

Hello,
I have a problem creating tickets in my satellite systems. The user in the sat. system is not the same than the user in the solman. Our systems run for educational purposes and the users in the satellite systems can be created by the lectures. So it is not possible, that the users in the satellite system are the same users than in the SolMan.
What I did was that I copied the Back-RFC connection and changed it, so that you have to logon to the SolMan with your username and password. The problem here is that the ticket is not created with the user that I used to log on to the SolMan but the user in the satellite system.
Does anyone know a solution to the problem?

Hi Laxman,
what user do you mean? The user in the satellite system or the user in the SolMan? The user in the SolMan has the right priviliges to create support messages, he is allowed to do so when using the work center. In the satellite system there are no roles for creating support messages.
Actually I don't want this use to create support messages, I only want the SolMan User, the key user to create messages.

Locks getting created with lock owner field ##

We are using ECC 6.0 system. We are facing a typical pronblem. Locks are getting created with ## in the user name field. Because of which updates are not happening. I solved this problenm by applying note 857439 but the problem again occurs after some days (That is locks getting created with ## in user name field)

There's not enough details to get a good understanding of your scenario, but it sounds like you're using some kind of date control to retrieve the date value and pass it to the report's parameter field at runtime. If this is correct, it sounds like the format of the date value from the control may not be what the report is expecting. To debug, I would first use hardcoded values when you set the report parameter fields to see what works. Then compare that to what the return value is from the control to see if they match. I suspect the formats differ. I did a quick search on the BOBJ kbase and found a couple of articles that may help you. Creating pages,item WITH approval.

Hi,
I found out how to create a page and add an item to that page automatically. But now I need to find out how to use this with approval.
1) I noticed that approval only exists on the item level and not the page level. Is this correct?
2) How can I make that the page/item I create automatically, has to be approved? The approval will be done in a normal way, through the existing approval portlet. Normally one should enable approval control on the page, create a user and give this user the 'manage items with approval' rights, all items published by this user, will not be published before approval.
Can someone provide an example, on how to mark an item for approval programmatically?
The function add_item contains a parameter 'p_author - Author of the item.'. Can this be used, as I enable the author to 'manage items with approval'?

Creating user defined pay items in a complex PO which will be created from an Approved requisition

We want to create user defined pay items in a complex PO which will be created from an Approved Requisition.
User will select the approved Req. through WebADI and update the pay Items which will be uploaded and a complex PO will be created with user defined Pay Items.
Approach 1:
The API po_interface_s.create_documents is running good but there is one issue with this API as below.
When we add user defined pay items to the po_lines_locations interface table against a line they are also getting added to the complex PO correctly.
But the issue is coming when the API is creating default shipment lines and distribution which we dont want.
Is there any way to stop creating the default pay items and distributions?
We only want the shipments we have entered in the po_lines_locations interface.
We can delete the lines from the PO_line_locations and po_distributions base tables for the default lines but that will be the last option to do delete on base tables.
Approach 2:
We can also do the same with the open PO import interface but it is not linking the complex PO to the approved requisition from which it is created.
Oracle mentioned that this is a future enhancement and this functionality is not available in standard PO import prog.
We are trying for Approach 1 so any suggestions/solutions are appreciated to achieve the requirement.

UDT cannot be created in sbo-common. You may create new db and work with table in this db (but it will be not UDT, but standard sql table), or create new company db only for this purposes and create UDT there.

How to create user editable Crystal Report with dynamic dataset

What I would like to achieve:
A program loads a report in runtime updates list of database fields (possibly includes sample data), open report in "Crystal Reports 2011" (or 2008) where user customizes report and saves it. Later on the program loads the report, fills actualized data and displays it in .net report viewer.
What I do:
CrReport = New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
CrReport.Load(TemplateFilename)
Dim Results As DataTable
DataTable is filled from a database
CrReport.SetDataSource(mResults)
CrReport.SaveAs(NewReportPath, True)
The NewReportPath is opened in the default program.
What are the problems
The report is open in preview mode (not in design).
