Created a 2nd template - how do I make it the default

Hello,
I have added a 2nd template for a data definition. How do I make it the new default so that the user doesn't have to go into Upon Completion/Options and pick the template each time they run the concurrent program? The other template is still needed, just not as frequently as the new one.
Also my Upon Completion form only displays the one template record (the old one) . The form allows me to create a second record (selecting the new template), but then ignores it. My only choice was to overwrite the first record by picking the new template. I didn't expect a grid to behave this way. Is this a known bug, or have I set something up correctly? Couldn't find anything on MettaLink.....?
Thank you for your assistance.

The Administration guide tells you how to assign a default template.
Login as System Administration (for Self-Service Web Applications, not System Administrator):
Navigator >> System Administration >> Concurrent >> Programs >> Search >> Enter Template Name >> Go >> Update >> Onsite Setting >> Template >> Select >> Apply >> Ok
It's also covered in this white paper...

Right-click on that saved image's thumbnail in Windows to bring up a menu.
Select "Open with..." and from that "Choose default program"
A box will open up with a list of Programs to  choose from. Photoshop CS6 64 bit should be in that list.
Make sure "Always use the selected program to open this type of file" is checked.
If you do not see it in the list, click the Browse button in this box and it will show folders in the Program Files directory. Double click "Adobe" then Photoshop CS6 (64-bit), then select Photoshop.exe and click "Open". It should add it to the list.
Click OK and when you double-click on your saved file, it should open in Photoshop.
Let me know if that worked for you or if you have other questions.

Well, when I've done things like that it always sems like a good idea to keep an application that you know the file will definitely open in...

  • How do I make Photoshop the default Edit App for .jpg in Windows 7?

How do I make Photoshop the default Edit App for .jpg in Windows 7?    I want to be able to right click on a .jpg file, select the EDIT option in the Context Menu, then have Photoshop edit the file instead of Paint.
In Windows XP it was very easy to use the File Manger to associate the file type .jpg and action edit with Photoshop.    No so easy in Windows 7.  It is easy to change the default OPEN application, but I would like to leave Windows Viewer as the default OPEN application and have Photoshop as the EDIT applicaiton.

Before I posted the original question here, I had probably spent a couple of hours trying to research it.   I hate to find no answer for something I know can be done.   So I spent some more time and found the following in the bowels of a Tech Forum that is generally way over my head.  I have modified it to be Photoshop specific.
These instructions will update the default EDIT action for image types - jpg, png, gif and the variations.     If you are unfamiliar with editing the program registry you probably will want to back up your registry or take a system backup.
    1. Open up the registry editor (Regedit.exe).
You will need to be signed on as a Windows user that is an administrator
    2. Find HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT -> SystemFileAssociations -> image ->  shell -> edit -> command
This seems like it would be easy but it is not, because there are many key names that are very close (like System.FilesAssociations).   Keep looking because you will find it eventually.
    3. Double click on "Default" (on right window pane) and update the program location.
You should see that MSPAINT.EXE is the current program.
Erase the existing value and enter you photoshop location in quotes followed by %1 in quotes.  For me this is "C:\Program Files  (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Photoshop.exe" "%1"
    Hit return.
    4.  Exit Regit and test.

  • How do I make Pages the default word processing program?

How do I make Pages the default word processing program, including Appleworks files?
I want any Appleworks file I open to open in Pages - is there a setting to make that happen?

    Hello ADW,
To change the default programme used to open a filetype, Get Info on one of the files you are looking to set, the change the Open With selection to Pages.
Then click on Use this application to open all documents like this one.
You will have to repeat this for each file type you want to use that way.
    Have a wonderful day!

I've just installed creative cloud 64 bit windows.  How can I make bridge the default program to upload pictures rather than lightroom?

Usually the default program associated with an image file extension is an image developing Program like Lightroom or an image editing program like Photoshop. If you want to change the default associated program to Adobe Bridge you would use Window's Controls Panel file association applet.

  • I want google as my search engine, not Bing. How do I make Google the default search engine in the "Search the Web" feature of the search bar; or, how do I remove the "Search the Web" feature of the search bar so that "Google" can be default?

I want google as my search engine, not Bing. But no matter what I do in "Manage Search Engines," Firefox seems to reset to "Search the Web," which uses Bing.
How do I make Google the default search engine in the "Search the Web" feature of the search bar; or, how do I remove the "Search the Web" feature of the search bar so that "Google" can be default? When I move "Search the Web" down and "Google" up, the search bar resets every time Firefox reloads.

Sometime Bing is not located in the Add/Remove programs section of the control panel.
6 Easy Steps to Remove Bing from Mozilla Firefox:
    1. Click on the "inverted triangle" located to the right of the orange Bing icon.
    2. Select the option "Manage Search Engines...". (A pop-up window will appear titled "Manage Search Engine List.)
    3. Select "Bing".
    4. Click the "Remove" button.
    5. Select the desired search engine from the list.
    6. Click "OK"
    All Done.... :-)
    Happy Searching...

  • How do I make Firefox the default browser in a non-administrative Windows XP account, where clicking to do so has no effect?

I have two accounts for myself on my PC running Windows XP. In the administrative account, Firefox is already the default browser that opens when I double-click an HTML file, etc. Firefox knows it's the default browser there.
In my other account, every time I start Firefox, it tells me it's not the default browser. Clicking there to make it the default, or in the options, does nothing.
When I go to Set Program Access and Defaults in the administrative account, "Use my current Web browser" is selected. Mozilla Firefox is not listed as an option. In my non-administrative account, the Add or Remove Programs control panel can't be used. It says I don't have permission.

To check that in the other account you would have to give it temporarily administrator permissions.

  • How do I make Pages the default program?

    Hi,
This may be quite basic, but I can't seem figure it out.
I've just migrated from a PC to a Mac and I have a lot of .doc's. I want to make Pages the default program to open all of my MS Word documents; however, when I select >open with>other>iWork08>Pages, and check the "Always open with" option, it only opens that particular document with Pages, not every .doc file on my computer.
Windows has an "always use for this type of file" option, but I can't find any such thing on my Mac. I have WriteRoom installed and this is somehow the (default) for .doc's, though, I didn't make it that way... just happens to show up first on the list for some reason.
    Thanks!

Point to a .doc file in a window using the Finder. Command-i (or right click, then choose "get info") on any .doc file. Under "Open with" specify Pages then click "change all". This will make all .doc files open with Pages by default.
If you don't like this setting, you can change it back. And bear in mind that opening a .doc file with Pages does not allow you to simply save the file using Pages. You have to save a second file in Pages format (and perhaps may wish to then delete the first .doc file). The fact that Pages doesn't save Word documents "natively" like this can be a pain, but there's no way around it because that's how Pages is designed.

  • How do you make Firefox the default browser when the normal way doesnt work?

Im trying completely from chrome after a friend showed my how much firefox has got its act together. However i cant for the life of me set it as the default browser. I have tried the "make firefox the default browser" button in firefox, which simply opens the windows default programs panel. Whenever i try to use the panel it simply sets the http protocol to nightly which isnt even installed!( http://puu.sh/2vJHM ) I think a possible fix would be to manually change the registry, but i wouldnt know where to start.

Did you check the box on ''Options > Advanced > General >[X] "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup"?
Have you restarted Firefox and if so, or when you do so, what does that section on the advanced Firefox options show?
Have you tried restarting your system after setting the default browser using the second suggestion and, after restart, check the setting per the second suggestion to see if that setting is holding?
Updating your Plugins would have no affect on the default browser question. It was something that you needed to do to avoid security issues online by using an out of date version of Java. Java is not involved in the default browser issue. That is why I separated it from the first part of the reply with a line and began with the word "Other".

  • How do I make preview the default pdf viewer after clicking a link?

I have Preview as my default viewer for files I download.  But Acrobat thinks it can make itself the default for pdf links I click on the web.  I hate Acrobat on the Mac, and I only need it once a year for filing my state taxes online.  How do I eliminate Adobe's "entitlement mentality?"

  • Vista - how do you make iTunes the default player for audio files?

Having started using iTunes on a new Vista PC, I've found that it defaults back to Windows Media as the default audio file player every time the machine is rebooted.
But worse than that, I cannot find any option to make iTunes the default player for MP3 files - under the Vista settings, the ONLY option offered is Windows Media: there is not even a box to tick for iTunes.
Have others found this? Is there any way around this?
(I thought that Microsoft was legally precluded from making these kind of enforced settings now???)

Although I now seem to have successfully made iTunes the default player for audio files, iTunes has started putting up this message:
"The iTunes Music Library file cannot be saved. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."
A quick scan of the forum shows this problem has come up quite a few times, but I'm far from clear if there is a definitive answer/solution. I am the administrator for the computer. It sounds worrying that the Library file is not being saved - should I be worried?
