Welcome to the Apple Community.
The difficulty in restoring iCloud data from a back up is that the back up is older than the current version on iCloud and anything that is restored gets removed again when an iCloud sync occurs. I have previously suggested ways to recover contacts, calendars etc, and other users have confirmed that they work, as such I am making the following suggestions to recover lost notes, but please note, as yet success is unconfirmed ***.
Recovering your notes is quite time consuming, you may wish not to save all your notes to save some time, if they are not of importance.
Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
Start the restore from iCloud back up.
Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
Wait for the time out confirmation.
Open the 'Notes' app, and open your first note (assuming your deleted notes have now been restored).
Select the share option at the foot of the screen (rectangle with arrow) and choose mail.
Send the email to yourself (If they won't send, save them to draft)
Repeat steps 7 & 8, until you have copied all the notes you wish to save to email.
Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
Navigate to settings > iCloud and make sure 'Notes' syncing is enabled.
Open the 'Notes' app, check that iCloud notes have reverted to how they were before starting the restore.
Open the 'Mail' app and open the first email you sent yourself and copy the text you want in the note.
Open the 'Notes' app and create a new note in the iCloud, paste the text you copied.
Go to iCloud.com on a computer and check that the note has synced to iCloud.
Repeat steps 12, 13 & 14 until you have recovered all your notes.
May I suggest that you carry out a back up to iTunes before you try anything, that way should things become even worse, you can at least restore back to where you are now.
*** As a matter of protocol, anything that I can’t test myself will need to be confirmed by at least 5 individuals before I’m willing to accept it as confirmed. At this time only 2 individuals have confirmed it to work. -

If you will do this I will email you my apple id info. It just really ***** that apple added this restriction especially because they are still selling the 3gs. If anyone knows of another way, I am willing to try. Thanks.

My nephew set up his own iCloud account on my phone, and I want to delete his iCloud account, without losing all my data, including, my apps, contacts, calendar events, music. Deleting the iCloud account from your phone only deletes the account and any data you are syncing with the account (that is, any data that is set to On in Settings>iCloud). However, when you delete the account you are prompted about what to do with the iCloud data. If you want to keep it on your phone, be sure to choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted. Also, be sure to save any photo stream photos that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else before deleting the account. To do this, open the photo stream album, tap Edit, tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
Deleting the account will not touch any other data on your phone (music, apps, etc.). -

I've recently started to use Numbers on my macbook pro but when I try to sync to iCloud it asks me to create a new iCloud account. Problem is I already have one and that's the one I want to use.

The only option I'm being given is to create an lCloud account.
Any guidance? Thanks.The last thing you want is a second iCloud account. Try logging out and back in in System Preferences. If that doesn't work, I'd get AppleCare on the line.

You would have to delete the existing iCloud account and create a wholly new one - you cannot change the @icloud.com email address of the one you already have. To make a new one, you will also need an new AppleID as any AppleID can only have one iCloud account associated with it.
Deleting the account will not delete anything off your device (if prompted for things like contacts, choose to keep them). You will have to sync everything anew with the new account as you cannot move your sync'd content, your old backups or anything else from one iCloud account to another. You will have to set up sync again and let it sync to the new account, and then make new backups to the new account as well. -

All you have to do is this: Sync your 3GS to create a current backup. Then either: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings or restore it as a "New" device in iTunes. Both accomplish the same thing, erasing all of your data & settings from the phone. You can now give it to your sister, she can plug it into her computer, name it what she wants & sync her content to it. You then restore your 4S from the backup of the 3GS you created when you started. Follow this by syncing your content to your new phone & your 4S will look just like your 3GS.

I should not have created a seperate icloud account for our second device
I have my sons ipod and my iphone on one icloud account. When my husband bought an iphone I created a seperate icloud account for his phone and now want to have all three devices on one account.
First, are there any issues with having all of us on one account?
Second, if I can proceed, how to do I change his account?Then sign in at settings > iCloud with seperate ID's for each user, if you are already signed in with an ID you don't want to to use, delete the account.
Use your own ID's for signing into settings > messages and settings > FaceTime (if you use them), but when it comes to signing in at settings > iTunes & App Stores use the same ID on all devices, use the one you have already made purchases from. -
My email recently changed and so I updated my Apple ID to reflect my new email, but my Icloud account still shows the old email as the username on both my Iphone and Ipad and for the life of me I can't figure out how to change or delete it. My password doesn't work with the old email address. When I look for my old email address in the Apple ID support area it says that the ID doesn't exist. Help!!!
You have to go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your updated credentials. This deletes the account and your synced data from your device, but not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing to a different account, your data will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.

thanksYou can't use icloud to store photos. There's a service called photo stream which is used to sync photos from one device to another, but this can't be used to store photos permanently.
Always sync photos from a device to your computer, Then you can delete them from the device.
