Created Apple ID but is rejected in iTunes

I have just got a new iPhone 5 and created an Apple ID. I try to register this in iTunes but when I enter my valid Apple ID (I know it's valid because I can sign in to the Apple ID webpage) it says 'You must enter a valid email address'. Obviously I've checked that it is the correct email address linked to my Apple ID (they are one and the same anyway?)
Any help? Getting frustrated - all I want to do is use my new phone!

Creating a new Apple ID isn't the way to fix that problem. All that will do is create a new Apple ID with no record of your previous purchase history or anything else related to iCloud.

Ipod nano 2nd gen either gets white screen or apple icon but is recognized by itunes! What now

So I have done the reset steps and I will either get the white screen or the apple icon with 2 audible beeps. The Ipod does show up in Itunes, however I cant play music. I dont know if it has been dropped or not as I am doing a favor for a friend. I was able to restore the ipod via Itunes as well but Im stuck here. I dont know how to put in disk mode when I cant see anything on the screen except the white screen or the apple icon. Any Ideas as what to do next or is this Ipod done?

I also have a 2nd generation, which I purchased after my ipod Shuffle stopped updating. We plugged it in, followed the instructions but the Nano was not recognised by my PC, however, my nano does get recognised on my husband's pc. My daughters ipod and my old shuffle both are still recognised on my pc. I need to delete the shuffle, as it is faulty, but more importantly, I need to get my pc to recognise the nano. Please help.

Also you country may allow yu to set up special account that is only good for free app. You can't. update an existing account to to not use a payment method. See:

Check the information on the song, Right-Click -> Get Info.
In the fist pane, (Summary), you will see the AppleId (Account Name) that was used to buy the song.
Be sure to login to use this account to register this computer to play the song
What I often see, Is that people have many different AppleID, sometime not even knowing it, which is a big problem.

If None is not available - On your computer launch iTunes and click "iTunes Store" in the left navigation pane. Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is apparently critical. This seems to come and go, or only apply to App Stores in specific countries, so you may not see the option for "None" when asked for a payment type.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free content without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)
