Created duplicates of rotated images

Hi
I have just imported a large iPhoto library into Aperture 2 which has created two masters of any image which at some point in iPhoto had been rotated. So now in Aperture a large percentage of my images have two versions - a portrait and a landscape. Can I quickly delete the master which is the wrong orientation? I really hope so!!

Yeah I wish they'd warn you about that.
When you rotate an image in iPhoto it copies that image into the modified folder and keeps the original in the originals folder. (Just in case in a bizarre moment of vertigo you decided to rotate it back) Aperture then, as you've just discovered, kindly imports both thus giving you the mild headache that you'r having.
The nice thing is that Aperture appended different metadata to each image. The original unrotated images are tagged +iPhoto originals+ and the are tagged +iPhoto modified+
If you create a smart album of all images with keywords 'iphoto original'.
And then sort that smart album by orientation
You should be able to weed out the sideways ones.
Post back with your results.

  • Create Placeholder for Rotating Image Link

    Hello,
The other day I created some rotating banner ads on my site thanks to the fantastic help I received on this forum.
Once thing I notice on my site is that when the banner ads switch the spacing on the page shifts so that the text/jpgs that are below the ads bounces around.
I was wondering if anyone knows a way that I can create a placeholder to contain the banner ads so that the other content would stay put?
Thank you so much for any help that you can provide.

The anti-right click script you have is useless. If someone can see your images in their browser, they are already downloaded to their computer. Taking away the right click function will not stop them from taking the images if they are so inclined and it is supremely annoying. If you want to protect your photos, use a watermark that is difficult to remove from the image instead.
You have some errors in your code that are being caused by having things out of place. Run your page through the validator at http://validator.w3.org so you can clean those up.
As for the shifting issue, that is being caused by the container of the images going empty for a moment and shrinking it's height. Set the height of that container in the css to an appropriate number and it should stop.
    Something like...
    #bannerid {
         height:50px;
Set it to whatever the height of the banners is and it should fix the problem.

  • How do I create a 3D rotating images animation

Hi, I'm trying to create an animation like the one on www.ibuypower.com
I have 4 images that I would like to array in a similar 3d animation that users can manipulate like the one on this site.
    Any tips?
    Thanks

If you want to replicate that effect in the same way, you should ask this in the Flash forum. The effect was created in Flash.

  • Aperture 3 creating duplicates

i have just upgraded to Aperture 3. I love the new tools, but still getting use to organization of files. A3 seems to be doing weird things. As i started to delete some masters in a newly created library project, it creates 2 duplicates of some of the images in that project. When i trash them , it creates duplicates in subsequent images. What is going on ????
    pam

This is a year-old thread.  You'd be better served to start a new thread.
This page from the User Manual should help you find the "Do Not Import Duplicates" checkbox.  The User Manual is available on-line, and should be your resource of first recourse.  I searched for "Duplicates import"
Aperture, in identifying duplicates, scans for file name and date.  If you change the file name on import ("Rename Masters"), you will get duplicates.
The original thread is about Aperture showing duplicates for photos edited in iPhoto (afaict), which is a misunderstanding of Aperture's behavior.

  • Can I create a rotating image with sevaral images in  Photoshop?

I was wondering if I can  create   a rotating image with sevaral images in  Photoshop?    Much like a gif? Would this improve my page load time or would it be the same as loading a slideshow?  Here is an example of what we wanna do vacationsalabama

Yes you can create a gif in PS to do this but it would be much easier to accomplish with some simple JQuery Image slider.
    Several examples here
    and here
The benefit is they load faster, have speed options, and switching images out is a breeze. They can also have links asigned to the images as they appear.

Every time I sync my iPhone (IOS 7) in iPhoto it creates a duplicate, but not on my Mac, how do I slove or fix this? even if I delete all of the duplicates manually on my phone or Mac, if I sync, it creates duplicates

Have you ever had all 7 of them synced before? Are these ringtones you made yourself? Is there a chance they could exceed 30 seconds in length? Is there a chance you have moved the original file location on the computer? May need the answers to a couple more questions to try and determine an answer.

  • Unable to create an encrypted disk image with Disk Utility

    Hi:
With our upgrade to Lion a few weeks ago, we're now unable to create an encrypted disk image of any type using Disk Utility any more. This problem occurs on 3 different machines, and is reproducible whether one is using an internal HD or an external FW HD. We can successfully create nonencrypted disk images.
This is a duplicate post with all the details here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/18469359#18469359
We haven't had any luck with a solution trying various permissions fixes as helpfully suggested by other readers in response to the error message # (-60008 error), so I'm hoping that someone else has run across a solution from the encrypted disk image perspective and that this tag line will generate some help.
    Thank you!

  • How can I create a high res image gallery, need to have print res photos for a pressroom section.

How can I create a high res image gallery, need to have print res photos for a pressroom section.

If you want Muse to "pass through" your images and not adjust, compress, crop etc - you need to place your images in the lightbox EXACTLY at the right size, pre-cropped and prepped in Photoshop.
So if your light box is 800x600 the image you're dropping into that must be 800x600 exactly with no effects, rotation etc added to the lightbox frame. This stop Muse fiddling with your images, if they are perfect when inserted and you're not asking Muse to crop, expand, add effects etc. If it's perfect when inserted, Muse SHOULD also leave the resolution alone too, but I have not tried that one, but in theory, it should work.

  • Create a single tall image from a multi-page pdf file

I would like to take a multi-pake pdf file, and have all of the pages "appended" from top to bottom edge to create a single tall image. I am a teacher, and I currently do this by hand, I am then able to annotate the entire page and croll down an entire document inside of Photoshop.
Here is an example: I have a pdf with 4 pages. Currently I open the pdf in PS, I end up with 4 images; I adjust the vertical canvas size of one of the images to be 4 times it's original size, then one-by-one I copy the contents of each image to that new tall image and move that layer vertically below the previous one. So the result is say a 1024x6400 pixel image.
I would like to be able to just open the pdf with a script and get this all done in one step.
    Any help is appreciated.

Thanks again c.pfaffenbichler. I had most of it worked out in my own way before you got back to me, but I wasn't able to get the final naming part down.
Like I said, I am a math teacher, and I use photoshop as my whiteboard, and draw with a graphics tablet. So I can print to pdf from any program, now I can import any document into photoshop basically to write on it. So this is wonderful. I have never seen another teacher use PS as a whiteboard in class in this way, so I am most likely the only person in my county or state that would need such a script.
After I got everything worked out, I added some things to the script. Some of my colleagues will use my files as a whiteboard if I send it to them as a tall single page pdf that they can scroll down and write over; so they don't need photoshop. So I have scripted in the saving of that pdf as well. Here are my changes; most of what I changed is in the section commented MY WORK.
    // opens all pages of pdfs cropped to trimbox with set settings and arranges them;
    // 2011, use it at your own risk;
    #target photoshop

  • Rotated images in inDesign

I have used CS6 on my Mac (10.6.8) to create a 240 page book with several images on most pages. Some of these have been rotated by about 20 degrees or so for effect, and are fine when viewed on inDesign. However, when exported to pdf in high quality mode a grey (un-rotated) box appears around each of the rotated images. It's faint but it is there. I did try rotating in Photoshop first and then creating a clipping path, which I have done for other images but this appears compromised by the rotation also. Grouping a number of images before rotating, as I have done on the cover, also seems to cause a particular problem, with the crop then coming in at an angle also. Even if you then ungroup these, the program seems to remember they were grouped before and still refuses to do a vertical crop, though it behaves ok with the rotated image before it is grouped. Drop Shadows on the title text appear VERY dull on my screen when viewed in the high-quality pdf mode also, though a friend viewing the same file on his computer does not get this effect. I think I can work round most of these, but the grey boxes are a real issue.
    Thanks
    Les Brown

    Hi Peter
interesting. I was just clicking on the file, so I think it was Apple preview. However, if I select Acrobat 10.1.1 the image looks good against a white background (my main problem.) Does this mean the file is OK to send for printing in this form? I note that for the cover image (blue background) the drop shadows are still very dull and there is still a slight colour issue with the rotated image.
    Thanks

  • How do I prevent Lightroom from creating duplicates if the edit in photoshop is not saved?

    Hello!
How do I prevent Lightroom from creating duplicates if the edit in photoshop is not saved?
So... Quite often I choose to 'Edit in photoshop' from Lightroom but then end up not saving the result. (for example, because I just wanted to experiment with the photo, or I'm not satisfied with the results)
However, Lightroom always creates a copy of the original photo, which stays in the catalog even if the photoshop changes aren't saved.
Is there a way to stop this, and only add a photo if it has been edited in PS?
    Using LR5 with PS CS6 on a Mac 10.9
    THANK YOU!

Select 'Open the Image in PS as a Smart Object'. The image will be rendered by ACR in memory without being written to disc until you save it from within PS.

  • Rotating images in separate htm document (DW CS4)

    Hi all,
    A few questions:
    1. I created a rotating images htm document by using the swap image function and then changing the code a bit (found this on internet). This works just fine on my PC (LiveView) and the htm document is switching between 3 images. I have placed the document in the images folder. However, when uploaded it doesnt work:
    http://www.competenciagroup.com/images/RotatingImages.htm
    2. If i get this htm document to work on the net I would like to input the htm document with the rotating images into the heading of my main document:
    http://www.competenciagroup.com/ColombiaTravel/index.html
    (just above the menu)
I could not though figure out how to input the htm document into the existing html document.
Anybody have any clue on the 2 questions above?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ingvar Malde

I know plenty of people run into the issue of not being able to see their images while in design view, but mine is the exact opposite.
My images show up as a tiny blue question mark box in Live View... As well as when I preview it in a browser localy on my machine.
I think I know why it might be happening but dont know how to fix it...
When I insert an image DW codes it as such:
    <img src="/images/madintro.jpg" width="470" height="267" />
The problem seems to lie in DW adding the "/" in front of "images"
when I manually go in and take out the "/" the image shows magically shows up as it should.
Why has dreamweaver suddenly defaulted to making bad code? what did I do to cause this issue? And obviously how can I change it back to work again and make the image show in my DW workspace?
Yes, the slash is exactly the problem. That is known as a Site-root relative link. These types of link are good to use in Templates because they are always the same. They don't need to be "fixed' when you generate a page from your Template into a different folder.
The downside of using Site-root reltive links, is that you can't access the files locally. You must get the page from a web server. One exception to that is using Preview in Browser (PIB) "Temp" files.
Read this Tech Note about setting up a Testing Server so you can see these files in Live View and PIB:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2008/12/live_view_and_siteroot_relativ.html
If you want to switch back to using Document relative links, then setthe Relative to: field to be "Document" in the "Browse for file" dialog (folder button next to Link field in PI). This setting is sticky, so all future link will use the same setting.
    Hope this helps,
    Randy

  • Rotated Images

When I download a picture to Desktop it transfers the picture to a folder called Rotated Images no matter which ISP I am using. It also happen if I drop an image /picture onto the desktop: it sits there apx 3 seconds then creates a Rotated Images folder & the picture is there rotated 90 degrees.
I have tried deleting the folder to Trash, emptying the Trash, and Restart. Same thing happens. Although there is no Rotated Images folder on the Desktop, as soon as I drop any image on the Desktop it creates an Rotated Images folder and the picture goes in there and rotates 90 degrees. It seemed to suddenly start. I don't believe I installed any app that would cause it to happen (I hadn't installed an app at the time it started).
I don't know if it was 'spammed' to my iMac -possibly?
When I use Spotlight it doesn't find Rotated Images except for the newly created folder on the Desktop.
Has anyone encountered this problem? Has anyone found a solution? It is confusing and annoying. I have to add it to iPhoto then rotate it and Revert to Original rotates back.
The work/around is to Rotate & Save in Photoshop, then Import to iPhoto. Bummer.
    Thank you.

I tunes match is creating duplicates in my library

As stated above you can still add your artwork manually:
iPod & iTunes for Dummies - Adding Album Cover Art or Images in iTunes
Add Song Information, Lyrics, and Artwork to My Tunes
iTunes: How to Add Artwork to Songs
If you have an iPod make sure it is enabled to show the artwork.
A tip for finding suitable artwork is to go to Amazon, locate the album, save the picture to your desktop and drag it to the iTunes artwork pane. Another way would be to locate artwork using Google image search and put the artist or album name and save the picture you find there in the same way. There are also some programs like this one: iTunes Art Importer or MP3 Tag

  • Rotating Image With Reflections

A few years back I bought a manual for Director 6.0. In the
back of the manual there was a demo disc showing some samples of
other people's work. One of the samples was called Big Top. It was
a totating logo in shinny gold, and as it rotated, you would see
reflections of objects and light on the surface. At one Time I
asked how it was done, and was told that an ap called RayDream
Designer could do it. I was told that in that ap, you could draw a
3D room, with the four walls, floor and ceiling, and when you
placed an object in the center of the room and rotated it, you
would end up with a rotating image with the reflection from the
walls. I never tried it, and long ago RayDream Designer stopped
being supported. Recently, I was told that the same thing could be
done with Photoshop or Flash, but I have not figured out how it is
done. What I want to do, is create a 3D image of a logo in gold,
chrome, or somethign reflective, and have it rotate with the
reflections as it rotates. I have seen similar thing on TV
commercials, but I think I need a little help on figuring out how
    this is done.
