Created new Apple ID, redeemed $20 gift card, now Apple doesn't recognise my Apple ID and the $20 Gift Card says it has been redeemed when it has just disappeared into my Apple ID that can't be found. I'm going around in circles trying to find my $20 gift
I was given a $20 iTunes Gift Card for my birthday, I setup a new Apple ID, redeemed my card and now Apple doesn't recognise my Apple ID and the $20 credit has disappeared. I've logged on using my Dad's Apple ID, but where has the $20 Gift Card gone? I try to redeem it again and get message that it has already been redeemed. Not impressed with Apple at all. I've sent 2 emails to their support, no response. I tried calling today and the call centre is closed.
Can anyone help me sort out this crazy problem? Why does Apple make it so hard to sort out?
Hi thanks, When I enter the Apple ID I get a message that either my Apple ID or password are incorrect. I then go to Forgotten Password, enter my Apple ID, choose to get an email to reset the password, but no email arrives.
So if I can't find/reuse the Redeemed Gift Card due to the Apple ID problem, surely that doesn't mean I lose $20??
I first emailed one week ago. Have emailed for the third time today.

Why doesn't my plugin indicate that it has been updated when it has?
Checking the status of my plugins I discovered two that needed
updating. I went to the most recent updates and downloaded them.
Rechecking their status I discovered that they were still listed as needing an update. What am I doing wrong, or not doing?Sounds like it is time to take it to Apple and have them check it out for you.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).

After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
(2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Expanding on what Niel said, once you redeem a gift card, the amount of the card is registered in your iTunes Store account and the card can be trashed. All you need do now is log into your iTunes Store account, the one you redeemed the card through, and make purchases. The cost will be deducted from your credit balance automatically.
A couple of caveats/warnings:
- you can buy anything in the iTunes Store with the balance other than a gift for someone else;
- if you don't have a credit card also registered to your account, keep careful watch on your balance so you don't overspend it. If you do, the purchase will go through but you won't be able to download anything else, even free content or items you already purchased, until you add another gift card or a credit card to cover the amount you owe.

To remove the card's details from your iTunes account, tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account - on your account's page there should be a payments link. Or you can do it via your computer's iTunes : go into the Store > View Account menu option and log into your account, and on your account's details click on the payment details link.

What happens when you try to buy something ? If you are trying to gift content then you will need to have a credit card on your account, your balance can't be used for gifting ; if you are trying to buy for yourself and you have a credit card on your account then its details need to be correct and complete - but your balance should be charged for the purchase. -

If the TOR Browser Bundle is installed you would have two versions of Firefox: the original Mozilla Firefox and the customized TOR Firefox. You can try to start the Firefox that was installed by TOR. If you have security software (antivirus, firewall etc.) installed, you can try deleting all existing instances of TOR and TOR Firefox and its related processes/files in all the different configuration areas/modules of the security software like process monitoring, sub/spawned process control, virtualization etc. in addition to the main AV/Firewall module. Instead create new fully allowed/trusted rules for TOR and TOR Firefox + its related processes. I just want to check if the iTunes email gift card has been redeemed (without directly asking the recepient themselves). Is there a way to check that? Would I get an email notificaiton when the gift card is redeemed?
You can't log into any site and see your account's balance. You can log into your account on your iPad via Settings > iTunes & App Store - on my iOS devices my balance shows at the bottom of, for example, the Featured tab in the App Store app under my account id (or you can view your account via Settings > iTunes & App Stores and it should show on the screen that you are taken to). You may not see anything if your account's balance is zero.
Not sure what you mean by relationship iTunes has to products. You can buy music, films, TV shows, audiobooks via the iTunes app on your iPad, and apps via the App Store app - what you buy will be tied to your iTunes account. -

Hi, I have a problem on the ipod with this file "metadata_never_index". My PC doesn't recognise it. I need the program Apple Spotlight but I can't download it as well. Why? Any solution?
I am not doing it in ITunes, but i did down load the song from ITunes. I loaded the song on to my Nano, but in my menu selections it doesn't show the song or the artist in any search format. However, when i plug in my nano to my PC I see the Nano library on my PC drive listings and that song and artist are there. I can click on the song and it will play in Windows media on my work PC. I did notice that the format for most all the songs in my library on my Nano are MPEG - 4 audio Files.
