Can't open movies with QT 7 Pro
I have QT 7 Pro and verified the key number in registration area. It clearly says I have it installed.

If these remarks are directed at me, Julie, then I thank you for the recommendation and will certainly check out the latest version of iSquint (v1.2.3) in order to compare it with previous versions. However, while I might agree that this utility may be easier to use for the novice, I still prefer a more flexible free (not sure how you get "free-er" than free) application like MPEG Streamclip when it comes to adjusting brightness, contrast, saturation, and volume while simultaneously cropping, rescaling, and deinterlacing 20-70 year old media for play on my iPod using my own preferred custom settings (which are frequently modified based on content). As to speed, even QT 7 can perform realtime/faster than realtime conversions if you switch from the dedicated iPod preset to MPEG-4 presets and utilize the MPEG4 rather than the H.264 codec. Of course, everyone has their own personal favorites when it comes to actual software and workflow. -
Can I open bkf with my Mac Pro? I have my old files with bkf format how can I open it?
That is a Windows Backup file. I seriously doubt that there will be any way to read that on a Mac. Do you have a Windows machine that you can use to open those files and save the contents in a more friendly format?

HD: 1920x1080/60i (FX or FH mode)
HD: 1440x1080/60i (HQ or LP mode)
SD: 720x480/60i
1080/60p (PS mode) seems to be the default mode in your camcorder. FCE only supports progressive video in 720p50 or 720p60. That's probably why you have had to import via iMovie.
It would be better to upgrade to Final Cut Pro X, the version currently supported. FCE was discontinued over 18 months ago and is not supported on Lion or Mountain Lion. -

Final Cut Express HD transfer from Intel to new Retina MacBook Pro
Final cut express HD will not open on new macbook retina using my intel version serial number. Do I have to purchase it again!!?
RAM may be an issue, if you can upgrade it that may help.
Also, make sure all your Media is on an External Hard drive. It's not a good idea to have your media reading off the same drive as your Application.
You could also try Trashing your Preferences and see if that helps.

While trying to Create Projects using the API, I'm getting two types of errors -
The first is : 'API failed in one stage 1 Customer Name is a mandatory Quick Entry field. Value must be passed'
The second is : '
'API failed in one stage 1 Project: '<Project_Number>'
The class category is invalid.'
Both the messages are produced by our custom program. .. however I am not able to understand why the underlying errors occur.
The first error ( Customer Name is a mandatory quick entry field), is caused by Projects that are to be created from Project templates where it is configured with Quick Entry Customer Name required. We are passing Customer Site number ( Party Bill to site number and Party Ship to side number). The site numbers being passed are also set as 'Primary'. Yet they are failing.
For the second Error ( The Class Category is invalid), I rechecked multiple times, the Class categories for the Projects I am trying to create, with the Config in R12 and they are fine. Can't understand the reason for these two issues. Has anyone encountered such an issue ? If so how was it resolved?

I resolved both the issues. In case there are others facing similar issues, following was the cause and resolution of my errors
1. Error 1: Customer Name is a Mandatory Quick Entry field. Value must be passed.
The cause was that the data loaded into our custom staging table was not in the right fields. This was because the data file values and the CTL were not in sync.
Resolution:
Corrected the data file to be in Sync with the structure defined in the CTL and this loaded it successfully
2. Error 2: The class category is invalid.
The cause of this error was that in the Projects Template (used to create the project from), the Quick Entry setup had a Class Category set as required and I was not passing a value ( a class code value) for that Class Category.

I am trying to install Final cut pro 5 studio V1.0.1 (2005) on OS X lion. I get a message "You can't open the application final cut studio.mpkg because power pc application are no longer supported. My computer is New. Is their a link I can go to get tech support?
You won't find any help at tech support ... other than telling you the facts: Intel processor Macs require FCP 5.1 or higher. FCP 5.0 and earlier were written for PowerPC processor Macs, long before Apple switched to using Intel processors.
And then there's the issue of the OS. OS 7 will allow FCP 7 (and sometimes even FCP 6) to work OK, but versions earlier than that have spotty operation on Lion.
Here's a brief history of full FCP versions and recommended OS compatibility:
* = requires PPC ** = works with both PPC and Intel *** = require Intel
FCP 1.0* OS 9
FCP 2.0* OS 9
FCP 3.0* OS 9, OS 10.1, OS 10.2
FCP 4.0* OS 10.2, 10.3
FCP 4.5* OS 10.3
FCP 5.0* OS 10.3 (OS 10.4?)
FCP 5.1** OS 10.4, 10.5
FCP 6.0** OS 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 (OS 10.7?)
FCP 7.0*** OS 10.6, OS 10.7
FCP-X*** OS 10.6, OS 10.7
Essentially, you have a newer Intel processor Mac with a new OS and very old, incompatible software. You might be able to find a used version of Final Cut Studio 3 on sites like ebay or craigslist as it is no longer offered by Apple as an upgrade.
Alternatively, you could purchase and download FCP-X, but it is an entirely different application, sharing virtually nothing with previous versions of FCP.

Bear in mind 10.7 and FCE are not supported working together.
FCP X is the supported application for Lion.
Users find FCE can mostly work to not working at all with Lion.
You can dowmlaod a trial of FCP X from the App Store.

Can you do this with Final Cut?
I'm putting together a video and want it to look like you are watching a tv show. I have a .jpg I was to use to outline the video. Can you do it with Final Cut? In other words, the video will have a tv screen look. And then I want it to zoom in slowly to eventually lose the tv outline.
When you are using still images I usually do things like this using the 4 or 8 point garbage matte.
Drop the video jpeg on track 1.
Drop the television jpeg on track 2.
Drop the garbage matte on the television jpeg and use it to cut a hole that will be filled with the image on track 1. You may also have to use the motion controls to size and position the image on track 1 for location and perspective.
Play with the choke and feather matte controls till you get it looking clean.

The figures you mention only make sense on your intranet. Are you still using the same wireless router. The verizon one is somewhat limited as far as max wireless-n performace. For one thing it only has a 2.4 radio. I like many people who wanted wireless-n performance before they even added a wireless-n gigabit router, have my own handling my wireless-n network.

How can I launch a site that I designed for a client using their MobileMe account? Can they 'open' my iWeb files on their iWeb software?
If you give them the Domain.sites2 file that iWeb used to create the site they will be able to open it with iWeb application (it has to be the same version as you have) and make changes. But if you're expected to also make changes you'll need a way to send that file back and forth between the two.
Also there's an online MacWorld article that describes a way that both of you could manage the site using Dropbox. Look at Managing an iWeb site from multiple Macs.

You must authorize the second computer with the same Adobe ID.
There are sometimes issues with this registration: if you have them ....
Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID. -

You don't tell us what version of Office for Mac you presently have, but I'm guessing it might be Office for Mac 2004. If so, in addition to the suggestion to download OpenOffice you can purchase the most recent version of Office for Mac 2011 directly from MS <http://www.microsoft.com/mac/buy>.
