  • How to create a maintainance view for a table.

    Hi All,
Can anyone explain me how do we create a maintainance view for a table?
Also, what access is required to create the view.
Is it true that for SAP tables we cannot create a maintainance view?
    Appreciate any help on this.

    Hi
Can anyone explain me how do we create a maintainance view for a table?
    <i>
You can use the SE11 menu option 'Utilities-->Table Maintenance Generator' or you can use transaction SE54.</i>
    also check

  • Creating maintainance view for a customising table

    Hello Team,
I have a scenario where we have to create a maintainance view for a standard customising table. But all changes to entries for customising tables will prompt for a transportable change request. How to switch off this prompt for change request? Please let me know your views on this.
    Thanks!

create a maintainance view for a standard customising table
Doing that wont be a good idea.
If you only want to disable the transport request in a production system, then call transaction SOBJ. Give the name of the object = the maintenace view, set the "[Current Settings|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_glossary/en/35/2a2c6ad9685cd5e10000009b38f974/content.htm]" flag on. (eg. F-60 on V_T001B for "Posting Periods: Specify Time Intervals")

  • Reg :-maintain a table maintenance view for the z table.suggest me the code

i have question.i have created a z table related to pp module.the requirement is to maintain {table maintenance view} for this z table.how could this be done.can any one suggest me the code for this?

    Hi ,
We have a lots of queries on table maintainance creation in the forum posted and replied to.Pls have a look at it first.
In se11 -> change mode of the ztable -> goto -> utilities -> table maintainance generator -> click on it...
it will give a new screen-> enter the required details like function group , authorisation(use &NC& or leave it blank if you dont know)  and screens
2 step and 1 step means=> number of screens displayed in maintainace
if step1 is selected then we have a screen which will be like a table control for data entry.........
for step2 we have a table control screen and a more detailed individual field display as second screen
click on the button 'find screen numbers' so that system automatically proposes the screen numbers
after which click on the "create" button and follow the required instructions/messages
once done go to SM30 enter the table name to check if maintainance has been created properly
Hope it helps,Pls check and revert

  • How to create a authority group for our customer table(se54)?

    Hi,everyone:
I found a problem when I create a authority group for my customer table,I can't write the creation
to a request no(can't assign to a package),I want to know whether the authority group I created can be
transport to the PRD when I realse the request no.
    Thanks!!!

Auth Group is nothing but a table entry so for sure it can be transported to any environment, before Assigning any Auth group create one in SE54 when you try saving it it would ask you the TR number which you can transport to PROD.

    Hi Bruce,
Could you brief your concerns again.
Why don't you maintain long text in message class for long description.

  • Table maintenance generator for a custom table

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement.
I had created a custom table with 5 fields with partner_id as the key field.
I had generated the table maintenance for this.
But, when i maintain via sm30, the maintenance screen should display 7 fields, i.e
for the partnerid, the firstname and the lastname has to be display as the second and third column.
So, in the maintnenace screen sm30, i should have 7 fields display... but actually in real custom table, there will be only five fields (except firstname and lastname of partner).
Please guide me how to do this development.
Do i need to change the code generated via table maintenance and add these two fields in the table control and code to retreive the values for the firstname and lastname.
    Please help me.
    Thanks,
    Jaffer ali.S

it is not a wise idea to add your custom fields in standard sap table maintenance generator screens..
each time you do a re - generate, (in case you added a new field in the table, or changed a data element, ) you will have to regenerate your tabe maintenance generator, and you will lose your code...
in this case, it will be better to create a custom screen with these fields and write code to populate the table..
or to make it easy, create a maintenance view with all fields required,

  • HELP NEEDED: Use a new record for a customized table as a workflow trigger

    Hi SAP Workflow Gurus,
    Good day!
One of our requirements is to have the creation of a new record in a custom database table trigger a workflow. I read and followed the steps as indicated in this link
    http://www.****************/Tutorials/Workflow/Table/events.htm
As a summary, here is what I did:
    1. Created a subroutine for the custom table ZPA2003 for the create event
    2. Defined this event as a trigger for the custom workflow WS90000019
    3. Maintained and activated the event linkage via SWETYPV
Basically I tried following the instructions indicated on the link
Note that the entries for the custom table are created via a function module.
Now during testing of the workflow, the system was able to complete the notification message. However, when I triggered the event via creation of the entry in the custom db table nothing happened
    1. Is there a way to debug/find out whether the link between the subroutine in the table and event itself are connected?
    2. I also tried running the event trace to check the activities executed but found nothing.
Can you guys help me check on what I may have missed out?
    Regards,

    Hi All,
Basically these are the requirements for the work schedule substitution:
    1. Employee enters the request via ESS (custom portal transaction)
    2. Upon saving of the entry (request) in a custom  table, this should trigger the workflow at the backend
    3. The Manager should then receive a work item in his Universal Worklist at the MSS side of the portal
    4. Upon clicking on the work item, a new screen will pop up showing the work schedule substitution details as well as an interface which will allow him to enter his/her usage decision
    5. Depending on the decision, the workflow must execute the necessary notifications as well as changes in the custom and PA2003 tables
Now, we have accomplished step 1 and I am currently in the process for step 2. Now I have some queries:
    1. For the Manager to view and approve the substitution details, I used two methods for each process (view and approve) since our ABAPer mentioned that this cannot be done in 1 function module. Is there a way to simplify this step or is it really valid that they need to be executed in 2 different methods?
    2. As per our ABAPer, function Modules only import and export variables; they do not have the facility of say having tags on the details being displayed. Hence, if the details are 10001 (Employee Number), 10/20/2011 (Start Date), 10/25/2011 (End Date) the output would be 10001, 10/20/2011, 10/25/2011. Is there a way within the function module (or dynpro interface) to show it like this: Employee Number: 10001
                               Start Date: 10/20/2011
                               End Date: 10/25/2011
    3.  Speaking of dynpro applications, do I need to still develop one to allow the Manager to view and approve/reject the request via the MSS portal upon accessing the work item via the UWL? How would the work item go about calling the dynpro application? or is this even possible?
It would have been easier if the facility would not pass through workflows since it will be just direct web dynpro/ABAP calls. Having to include it as a work item in the UWL puts a certain twist to it
    Your inputs are well-appreciated.

  • DB view for union of table

    hi guys.
Is it possibile to create an ABAP DataBase view for an UNION ALL of 2 tables with same fields ?
From SE11 is possible to create only joined tables, i think...is it true ?
I must split records of one custom table into two tables (active records and archived records); so, i thought to create an union all (view) to semplify modification on abap programs needs both tables's record.
    thanks a lot.

    hi.
Thanks for confirmation it isn't possible to create union on abap DB view (se11).
    for Yukonkid:
    - on sql-92 "union join" is included
    - "SELECT form both tables and "union" them in an internal table"...a DB view intend to be a same solution but more easy to develop (easy=few abap's rows)
    for Sneha:
my target is performance: i have a big table (a lot of rows) with 95% archived and using index not resulted a good solution

  • Need to create maintenance view for a custom infotype

A custom infotype 90XX is created. The data cannot be modified or created through PA30 in this infotype. Through PA 40 actions only we can create/change the record/data. We have created some 1000 records in it. Now can we create a maintenance view for the infotype so that we can create, delete or change the data in the infotype as and when we want.

    Hi,
pls chk dat u have maintained the 'Infotype Charecteristics' and 'Technical Attributes' correctly.
    thanks,

  • How do I Create a Tabular Form for an Intersection Table

    Situation
There are three tables involved (PROJECT, STAFF, TASK)
    PROJECT(PROJECT_ID, PROJECT_NAME)
    STAFF(STAFF_ID, STAFF_NAME)
    TASK(PROJECT_ID, STAFF_ID, HOURS)
There is a many to many relationship between PROJECT and STAFF. The intersection table is TASK.
    Issue
I would like to create a tabular form for the TASK table. I would like to be able to click on a button (Add Row) to add a row to the existing tabular form. The row will have a LOV for the PROJECT_ID (showing PROJECT_NAME) and one for the STAFF_ID (showing STAFF_NAME) and a free form text field for the hours.
I've tried a bunch of different ways but am unable to acheive this functionality. I must be doing something wrong. This sort of thing is trivial.
    Any guidance/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Adding a new surrogate key column to an existing table is not that big a deal.
    alter table t add (pk int primary key);
create a before-insert row-level trigger to populate the key;Other than that, you are out of luck w.r.t the wizards. Yes, you can define a 2nd PK column in the wizard, but then the 2 PK columns becomes read-only (but you want to update them).
You can write your own tabular form using htmldb_item APIs and your own after submit processes to process the updates. See the manual Tabular Form Howto in the documentation.
    Thanks

  • Issue in data replication for one particular table

    Hi,
We have implemented streams in out test environment and testing the business functionalities. We have an issue in data replication for only one custom table all other tables data replications are proper no issue. When we do 100 rows update data replication is not happening for that particular table.
    Issue to simulate
Update one row -- Replication successful.
100 rows update -- After 3-4 hrs nothing happened.
Please let me know did any of you have come across similar issue.
    Thanks,
    Anand

Extreme slowness on apply site are usually due to lock, library cache locks or too big segments in streams technical tables left after a failure during heavy insert. these tables are scanned with full table scan and scanning hundreds of time empty millions of empty blocks result in a very big loss of performance, but not in the extend your are describing. In your case it sound more like a form of lock.
We need more info on this table : Lob segments? tablespace in ASSM?
If the table is partitioned and do you have a job that perform drop partitions? most interesting is what are the system waits nd above all the apply server sessions waits. given the time frame, I would more looks after a lock or an library cache lock due to a drop partitions or concurrent updates. When you are performing the update, you may query 'DBA_DDL_LOCKS', 'DBA_KGLLOCK' and 'DBA_LOCK_INTERNAL' to check that you are not taken in a library cache lock.
