Creating 3-d rotation

Hi all
I was wondering if this is possible in Motion...I know you can take a 2d object and make it appear 3-d by rotating it but is there anyway I can create a full 3-d product video? For example a phone or computer that rotates and shows itself at all angles in the right thickness?
thanks!

no, coz as you say motion takes 2d planes and can rotate them in 3d space. You're going to need a 3d app to make your product. I can recommend cheetah3d for a cheap very mac app. Or you can go the Blender route which I believe is free. I don't think the 3d plugins you can get for motion can handle very complicated shapes, but I might be wrong.

You may be better off searching for a 3D model then trying to create one with Photoshop. IMO Photoshop 3D is a nice add-on but Photoshop is more an image processor with some 3D capabilities not a full blown 3D application.

  • How do I create an interactive rotating model in Flash from a 3D model created in Maya?

    Hi,
I have never used Flash before!
I have created a 3D model in Autodesk Maya and I would like to use it to create something a user can interact with i.e. rotate it or zoom in and out using a mouse. I have been told that if I create a 360 degrees rotation animation in Maya and render it into JPEGs I can then import them into Flash. The next part is where I need help! Is there a way of doing this?
    Many thanks.

Whatever interaction you want to involve will dictate what you need to do internally to make the movieclip react to interaction.  Being that you have never used Flash before, you need to learn how to implement event listeners, for either or both the mouse and the keyboard.
Your best bet at finding some help with learning about event listeners would probably be to search Google using terms like "AS3 MouseEvent tutorial".
As far as exporting goes, what you are most likely to end up doing is to publish an swf.  As far as my experience goes, Flash automatically sets up your Publish Settings to create an swf and an html page to display it in ( including whatever supporting javascript files are needed).  If you wish to tailor the Publish Settings to produce other outputs, or want to change aspects of the defaults, then you need to acxcess the PublishSettings in the same File options where you find the Import command.  The Publish command is also located there.

  • How to create Mouse rollover/rotate actions

    Hi! Thanks for reading.
I'm interested in learning how to create a "3d" object that a user can interact with using their mouse. I've taken 60+ pictures of a camera rotating by 5 degree increments and I'm trying to put together something similar to what Verizon has on their website for phones -  Where your mouse rolls over an object and rotates it.
I've seen this done with Java as well, but I'm interested in how flash does it. Can someone help point me in the right direction on where to start please?
    Thanks for your time.

I am sure it is not the best way to do it since I don't have coding skills. I would create multiple narrow buttons that have a rollover to call up the desired image.

  • Created duplicates of rotated images

    Hi
I have just imported a large iPhoto library into Aperture 2 which has created two masters of any image which at some point in iPhoto had been rotated. So now in Aperture a large percentage of my images have two versions - a portrait and a landscape. Can I quickly delete the master which is the wrong orientation? I really hope so!!

Yeah I wish they'd warn you about that.
When you rotate an image in iPhoto it copies that image into the modified folder and keeps the original in the originals folder. (Just in case in a bizarre moment of vertigo you decided to rotate it back) Aperture then, as you've just discovered, kindly imports both thus giving you the mild headache that you'r having.
The nice thing is that Aperture appended different metadata to each image. The original unrotated images are tagged +iPhoto originals+ and the are tagged +iPhoto modified+
If you create a smart album of all images with keywords 'iphoto original'.
And then sort that smart album by orientation
You should be able to weed out the sideways ones.
    Post back with your results.
    M.

  • Create Placeholder for Rotating Image Link

    Hello,
The other day I created some rotating banner ads on my site thanks to the fantastic help I received on this forum.
Once thing I notice on my site is that when the banner ads switch the spacing on the page shifts so that the text/jpgs that are below the ads bounces around.
I was wondering if anyone knows a way that I can create a placeholder to contain the banner ads so that the other content would stay put?

The anti-right click script you have is useless. If someone can see your images in their browser, they are already downloaded to their computer. Taking away the right click function will not stop them from taking the images if they are so inclined and it is supremely annoying. If you want to protect your photos, use a watermark that is difficult to remove from the image instead.
You have some errors in your code that are being caused by having things out of place. Run your page through the validator at http://validator.w3.org so you can clean those up.
As for the shifting issue, that is being caused by the container of the images going empty for a moment and shrinking it's height. Set the height of that container in the css to an appropriate number and it should stop.
    Something like...
    #bannerid {
         height:50px;
Set it to whatever the height of the banners is and it should fix the problem.

  • Business Catalyst Help | Create an ad rotator

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/partner/create-ad-rotator.html

The content editor on BC won't let you really move it around, per se.  To insert your ad rotator into a page you use a module: {module_adrotator} so you can just cut and paste your module code to where you want it in your HTML code.

  • Flex Help - Creating Resizable, Draggable, Rotatable Shapes

    Hello,
Hopefully some feedback from this forum can guide me into
creating what I hope to accomplish.
What I want to do is have the user be able to draw shapes
onto a canvas/panel. The shaeps are standard squares, rectangles,
circles, etc. .... This is the easy part.
Once the shapes are drawn, I would like for the user to be
able to click on a shape, and have 4 squares show up at each corner
of the shape. When a user clicks on one of the squares and drags
the mouse, the object expands in size. Furthermore, I would like to
provide the functionality so that the user may rotate the shape.
I have currently completed the user being able to draw
shapes, as well as drag them anywhere on the application. I have
used sprites for this. Can someone please guide me on how to
incorporate the other functionality such as the user being able to
resize the shape by selecting a tiny square at one of the corners
    of the object. Thanks

As cxf02 mentioned in a separate thread:

  • Create buttons for Rotate,  Zoom, and Pan in a 3dscene

    Hi,
I am designing a 3dpdf  and my client wants to play it in a touchscreen monitor.

If you want to replicate that effect in the same way, you should ask this in the Flash forum. The effect was created in Flash.

  • Month on, month off crew rotation scheduling

Good morning! I am looking to create a crew rotation schedule that is month on, month off, using Project 2013.
The situation is that we have about 30 people for 2 work sites, each with 5 different roles that need to be filled for the next year.
So, the project lead 1 would work for a period, then a period off, to be replaced by project lead 2, etc. until the end of the project.
I've included an image to give you an idea of what I'm wanting, each color being a different person for that role (excuse my terrible paint skills)
Is this possible in Project 2013?

    Hi,
I would use a different approach. Create your resources and assign them to your activities. For example, set your activity duration to 4 months and assign project lead 1 and 2.
Then split your screen, display the task usage in the lower panel with a monthly timescale and enter manually the work as per the screenshot below:
    Hope this helps,
Guillaume Rouyre, MBA, MVP, P-Seller |
Thank you, this is getting me in the right direction.
However, this process is exposing my inexperience with Project. Here's the problem I'm running into.
Say I create Task A and assign Team Lead 1, 2, and 3 to it, Project will automatically divvy up the task among them (even if I have Auto schedule turned off and auto-calculate off)
When I try to fix it, (like in your example, you have it set for 20d for PL1 and 20d for PL2), if I match that, it will randomly extend the project or move the dates entirely.
I went into options > schedule and set days to have 24 hours, weeks to have 7 days, and months to have 30 days.  Each resource is set to 400% workload with a 24 hour calendar (all of our projects are round the clock, how the work is divvied up is
decided by the crews themselves, we only need to manage the high-level "This person goes here for this  amount of time" part of scheduling)
If I'm asking too many questions that are obviously answered somewhere else, could you point me in the direction of the documentation?  I'm finding a lot of tutorials online but few seem overly relevant to my specific application.  Thanks for the
help so far, it's been greatly appreciated.

  • Stock selection for supplier rotation

    Hi
SAP assumptions: SAP with WM and inbound handling units turned on. with carachteristic captured against the material (Age, PO number)
Our 'supplier rotation' business requirement is to be able to report and analyse current stock levels by each supplier by looking at the age of the equipment that is related to the physical item in the warehouse. We want to be able to create a request from SAP ERP by selecting the unique handling units that are aging and create an order request for the warehouse to move the stock from the bin location to another area in the warehouse (rotation area), Whilst doing this we want to capture the serial number of the item (our suppliers need the serial number in order to approve the rotation requst).
Once the warehoue have moved the equipment to the rotation area we want to run a report to show all serial numbers and original purchase order (which will be tied to the handling unit / material record). We will give that report to the supplier for approval.
Once the supplier has approved the request, we want to be able to create a supplier rotation order with refernece to the equipment that was moved. The warehouse will then be directed to the rotation area and physically pick the equipment from there.
Can anyone suggest how we do that?
    Many thanks

    Ajit,
One method would be Characteristics based availability checking.
Characteristics-Based Product Availability Check - Product Availability Check - SAP Library
