Creating a Business Package for multiple Target Audiences

Hi,
I want to create a business package that will be certified later. The required target audiences are Line Managers and Specialists. From what I understand, a business package must be assigned to one of the following: Every User, Managers, or Specialists. I take this to mean that we must create two separate Business packages if we want to support both Line Managers AND Specialists. Is this correct?

the formal requirements in fact are "the business package must be located in one of the folders specified below. The user type assigned to the business package (Every User, Line Manager, or Specialist) during registration determines your choice."
Anyhow, the certification is a process which primarily cares about correct namespaces, namespace usage etc. So if from your point of view the business package only makes sense to be distributed as one package, just decide which of the terms in question will make most sense. Then put your complete content under this area.

I work for a company where we are rolling out iPads in big amounts. The problem is that they all need an Apple ID in the training they get about the iPad they receive because they have to install MobiControl on it.
It's no problem to let them create an Apple ID at home, but they have to fill in credit card numbers once they connect at work when they try to install apps. That's the problem... Not everyone want's or has credit cards...
Maybe it's possible to create an Apple ID for multiple users???

You can make apple ID's without a credit card, you just have to jump through a couple of hoops to do it since the default is that people will always give a credit card. The key to making an ID without a credit card is that you try to download a free app first, then follow the 'make an ID' prompt. That will get you the 'none' option for payment.

Multiple Business Systems for Multiple Receivers?

idoc > xi -> multiple receivers with xml payload
I have a scenario where i have to configure multiple receivers for each Supplier from an IDOC. All the receivers will be either HTTP or SOAP.
When the mapping would be the same for all the Suppliers but during configuration we have to determine the receiver based on an IDOC value to route the xml via HTTP or SOAP
For this to achieve do we have to create multiple business systems for each receiver?
If i create a receiver in the business service how can we determine the interface mapping in this scenario?

As you know,Business system is a logical name for the Techincal Systems, Theoretcially it is not required to create different Business systems for the each receivers.
Generally Business Systems are grouped/created based on the Business Process/Functionality/Type of Receivers etc.
So if you think, your each receiver is of type different type/process then create different Business systems.
It depends~
If you create Business Service, then you need to add your Message Interfaces explicitly into the Business Service( By open the Business Service->You can see the Sender/Receiver Interface tabs).

Business Package for Asset Services, implementation & integration

We have installed Business Package for Asset Services in EP6.0 and integrated it with back-end system. The package works fine but on some iViews (equipmentpartners, functionallocationpartners, equipment, functionallocation, configurationshow) we have following runtime error:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :

Dear Ranko and others,
The problem lies in the lowercase and uppercase of the specific shared ressources within the deployed file default.properties of the business partner. Also the link to the PDV isnt the same anymore.
I had the same problems and by analyzing the logs of the nwa I found this solution. Donwload the files and replace the names with lowercase and making the reference to th PDV as well. Then upload this packaged PAR file again.

Reports available in the Business Package for MSS and ESS

Hi,
I have searched sdn.sap.com throughout looking for a comprehensive list of reports available in the business packages for both MSS and ESS, i got a little bit of joy and found some of the MSS reports but not all on sdn.sap.com, can anyone please advise where i would find such information on both these packages, just to re-iterate, i am looking for a list of reports these business packages offer? any help much appreciated.

(1) ESS- We built our own custom PORTAL role/workset in which one of the worksets we created is called "Tools and Forms". Under that workset, we placed various pages/iViews that either are simple URL iViews that link to external documents and such (like vacation request forms since they do not do online leave requests yet) as well as a couple ot t-code iViews that run reports in ECC for the employee. Nothing very mind blowing there. Just some content creation on the portal side.....oh, and some config on the backend to create a Homepage Framework Area Page and all for it (I liked that part!)
(2) Wow....talk about perfect timing...I just had to document the way MSS sees the MDT reports in it's "reporting" area yesterday! haha Here goes the quick explaination....in configuration for MDT, you have various "scenarios". These kinda determine which "groups" of reports will show in MDT. For MSS for the Reporting webdynpro/service, the scenario is RPT0 (in ECC 5.0, at least). Soooo if you look at the function CODES assigned to RPT0, you will see several for Training and one for Accounting (Cost Centers)...you can reference the function CODES listed back to the "pool"/library of function codes a bit up/previous in the same config area for MDT(I think it is called "Define Function Codes"). However, there is one more piece you will see listed under RPT0....it is a DIRECT call to function MODULE "HR_HIS_READ" (this was a bugger to find because I could not find the "Maternity" report listed in the function codes and had to figure out where the heck it was coming from! haha). Anyways....what the function MODULE actually does is call the HR Information System (HIS) passing it the RPT0/MSS scenario. This returns the particular reports for Employee Data and Time&Attendance. You can see this if you run the HR_HIS_READ function directly and enter RPT0 for the second input value (first and third are not needed or you can just enter "*". Sooooo that is how the "magic" happens. Hope that explained it. From there, you can simply config you own scenario/reports to add into MSS if you like.

Ealier i have imported the Business package for Sales 60.1 successfully. I need some help in setting up the system connections. Since all the iviews in it run on ITS i have set up the ITS connection. But somehow it is unable to connect. can you give me a step by step approach for setting up the ITS connections for these business packages and pull the data?
When i click on the iview link it simply says:

I tried this solution earlier by adding multiple BPs in the partner tab of the contract having this partner function.
for ex: the partner function 000001 for sold-to-party in partner tab. i tried to select the same partner function for multiple BPs but system gives an error "too many sold-to-party entered Remove an entry". can you help me here. thanks!

Need to know the Business Package for CRM4.0 Sales in EP6.0

We are trying to implement the CRM4.0 Sales business package in our EP6.0 environment( Our Backend R/3 is in 4.6B) . We would like to install complete package for the Sales module (The main (Top level) menus in the portal look like the following ==>
Activities.. Account Management ... Acquisition.. Sales .. Products.. Analysis..   Home.. R/3 Integration .. CRM integration .. APO integration..
Below every top level menus there are sub menus.. For example under Sales we would have the folliwng ( Overview.. Quotation.. Orders .. Contracts.. Billing Documents )
In the list of package from CRM (available in the SDN) the following looks like the currect one, can anybody advice please.
Business Package for SAP CRM 4.0     60.2.3   SAP AG   Unrestricted Shipment.
However, since we are only interested about the Sales Portion only can we choose to import content that is relevant only to the CRM SALES as well as CRM SALES analytics and not anything else? If it's possible the what is the procedure? If not then I assume that we will have to import the entire content and activate only the portion that we need. Please advice.

Hi Arun,
When u download and apply a busiiness pacakge u will get the complete package.
After appling the bussiness package u will get a report showing whcih all roles worksets etc are added to the portal. And also In portal contants there will be a folder created. There u can see the roles , worksets pages iviews etc.
You can edit the role and put the desired iviews or pages according to u r demand.

Read the log file(generated after importing the BP) it will give u all the information abt the contents that are uploaded to the portal server.

Business Packages for Maintenance Technician

Hi all.
We imported the Business Package for Maintenance Technician and previously we followed the prerequisites on the documentation.
For the step "You have set up the system alias SAP ECC Manufacturing in the portal" the alias was created for the system SAP_R3, I simply create the alias n no more.
When i try to execute the preview of any iView i.e. "Create Confirmation" the following error appears:
"Exception in SAP Application Integrator occured: Application URL ':///sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/rman_prsp_conf_app/;sap-ext-sid=x2bvhbLxismPPWD3O5rgfA%3D%3D7AFrHLsz6dPb8oNUuj4jqg%3D%3D' is not valid! Please check the protocol and host entries for system 'SAP_ECC_Manufacturing'..

EP60 : Business Package for Communication & Exchange

Hello, I see that the Business Package for Communication isn't supported on SAP EP 6.0 SP2. Is there any other package available which can be used for Exchange integration and EP60 SP2? Sorry if this is an obvious answer but I am new to portals and part of our project sign off was the ability to do exchange integration.

Newer releases of SAP EP contain the groupware (GW) functionalities and some GW iViews automatically as soon as KM is installed with the EP. The integration with MS Exchange 2003 should work. If you look for iViews such as Send EMail, Create Appointment, Show availability and Room Calendar, you can use the iViews shipped by SAP. If however you need the EMail inbox or the personal calendar and tasks, then the native OWA iViews are the way to go. Business Package for Communication with NW04 and Exchange 2003?

Hi, we are evaluating opportunities to realize a groupware integration in the SAP Portal EP60SP2. A upgrade to Netweaver is planned, so the possible solution should work with Netweaver too. Our Exchange version is 2003.
I'm thinking about the standard SAP Groupware-Integration in combination with the Business Package for Communication.
Has anyone expirences with the Business Package for communication, Netweaver and Exchange 2003, yet?
I know, it's not officially supported, but maybe it works.
With the OWA-iViews we've got problems to implement our Styleguide and to devide into different iViews. The informations shown in the iViews of the Business Package are adequate and we would save ActiveX.
Is there another solution that works?
Are there other iViews from 3rd party developers, that show Outlook informations? Has anyone realized something like this in a project yet?
I would be grateful for any ideas.

Business Package for E-Recruitment

Dear Friends,
Can any one of you please do let us know what is the standard business package for E-Recruitment?
We are using ECC6.0 without any enhancement packages. We are having a addon for E-Recruitment. Name of the addon is SAPK-60014INERECRUIT. We are using EP 7.0.
Do we need to deploy the business package in EP like we do for ESS/MSS or else is it only in R/3?

Question about "BUSINESS PACKAGE FOR COMMUNICATION"

We want to configure "BUSINESS PACKAGE FOR COMMUNICATION_50_4_5" for EP 6.0 SP2. We have imported mentioned package in our EP 6.0. There are no errors in logfile.
In document "Transfer Collaboration Rooms from EP 5.0 to EP 6.0" (item 3.8) is described how we can create and configure systems for "Communication Framework", "Address Book Component", "Java Mail Connector" and "Mail Server", that was mentioned in documentation to "BUSINESS PACKAGE FOR COMMUNICATION_50_4_5".
But we can't create those systems because portal's archives: "com.sapportals.pct.comm.systems" and "com.sapportals.pct.col.sync.systems" are absent in our system (System Administration > System Configuration > System > Portal Content. Right click on directory and select "New From Portal Archive").
What we can do in this situation?

Hi Slava,
the Communication Package has been discontinued, it it not supported with EP6.
For the Coll.Rooms you have to configure the Groupware Connector according to the Admin Guide.

Error Importing Business Package for Projects 50.3.1

We are trying to import and use Business Package for Project 50.3.1. Our backend system is R3 4.6C. We are getting an error while importing the package. I am pasting the dump i received. If anyone can put some light on it then please do so.

Hi,
The syntax of the created SDA may be wrong
Check the main attributes defined in SAP_MANIFEST.MF are equal or not to their corresponding componentelement entry.
SAP_MANIFEST.MF file is located in META-INF subfolder in the .sda file.
The values of "keycounter" and "counter" should be the same. Also the values of "keyname" and "name" should be identical.
