Creating a BW system in EP 7.0
Hi all
I need to put up a BW report in portal..what option should i use in the system creation template..will that be a BI (JDBC/ODBO/SAP QUERY) system or an SAP system (dedicated app server / load balancing server)...
my BW is on WAS ABAP n my portal on another WAS JAVA which are in the same domain....
if at all i should i use a SAP system what is it going to be in my case?..
dedicated or load balancing server?
moreover i am unable to find out the parametres of WAS host/path/protocol...
i am unable to trace them out in RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET ...
pls help...

How do I create an archive system for a blog created with a custom app?
I had to create a blog using a custom app, because I needed an image to show up in the list view (a feature I can't believe does not exist in the blog module). Anyways, I am wondering how can I create an archive system? Do I need to create categories for each month/year and then classify the post each time we create one. Then manually create links each month to pages that filters listing by that category? This is the system I tried, but I was wondering if there was a better way.

I have searched google for hours, and even signed up for BC gurus tutorials with no real luck. I thought BC gurus was going to have the answer but it wasn't quite detailed enough. Create SAP Source System Failed
Hi all,
We are using NetWeaver 2004s BI and try to connect to ECC 5.0. I tried to create SAP source system but got error message saying "RFC user logon failed". When I check RFC destination in ECC 5.0 for BI, the test connection is ok, but the remote logon will pop up another logon screen asking for id and password. I am pretty sure that the id and password in RFC destination is correct. The RFC destination in BI is ok. Can you help me out with this? Thanks a lot in advance.Hi,
Check the Default Logon <b>Client</b> for ECC 5.0
and verifiy that the User is in the Same Client
Each RFC destination has a mapped user for specific Client..Check the Client and User in the same client

I have a project which I am trying to make simple and would like your help.
I need to create a 'navigation system' which at the moment is a series of Flash .swf files uploaded to a Dreamweaver HTML page.
Now I need to get them working together like a 'tag' or a search system, but I don't want to get a server involved.
Is it possible to create something that operates like a website but without being linked to a server?
I'm already greatfulyou can populate your data into an html table or xml syntax and then use srpy to create a search without the need for a database.

Problem in Creating a JDBC System - SQL Server

I failed in creating a JDBC System(SQL Server). I am using SAP EP 7.0 SP 9. I tried to create the JDBC system with the following properties:
I am listing them Category wise:
Connection Properties:
1. Connection Timeout: 300
2. Connection URL: jdbc:sap.sqlserver://<server name> : <port name>; DatabaseName=master
3. Driver Class Name: com.sap.portals.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
4. Validate Connection: Yes
UserManagement Properties:
5. User Mapping Type: admin;user
Please help me out in making this work. And let me know if any changes to incorporated.

I have tried this thing sometime back. But when i create a JDBC system, I never give the <b>Connection Timeout</b> and change the<b> Validate Connection</b> from No to Yes. I just give the <b>Connection URL</b> and the <b>Driver Class Name</b> in the Connection Properties dropdown.
Try making these changes and check whether the user mapping is done correctly. Also check whether the Connection URL and the Driver Class Name are correct or not. Have a look at the following link:

Although, I saw this thread Can Visual Composer talk to/connect to any Database?..
which says that VC7.1 can connect to SAP backend
and web services only, and there is no direct connection to the db.

I have a problem with the Task Scheduler. It is not opening properly it is giving Error Message box at this time i am unable to post. The Tasks Scheduler is starts with a error alert "No more threads can be created in the System.NAPStatus UI".
I am unable to view the history of the tasks schecduled.It is giving message as
"The user account does not have permission to Access the Task History."
How to fix it. It is frustrating as can't able to track my Tasks and Create new Tasks. Any Suggestions helpful.

I have a 21.5" iMac (Late 2012) running OS X Mavericks. I'm trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate via Bootcamp but whenever i get to the setup part it goes wrong
These are the steps I followed
I selected all the options since I didn't have the drivers or an install disk
it copied the Windows 7 iso image, downloaded the support software, and saved the support software to the flash drive (8GB)
I selected a partition size - I gave windows roughly 100GB
and I let it install
Right now I'm at the part where it says " where do you want to install windows? I selected the bootcamp partition and formatted it. It now says
"Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information"
WHAT DO I DO?I had to read the apple instructions several times before they started to make sense. I burned my iso onto a DVD and had the required USB for support software. Are you trying to use the single USB method?

Hi folks. So I ran the boot camp wizard and made a USB install key for windows from that. I boot to it and everything works until I get to the install. I format the Boot Camp partition as indicated in the walkthrough and then I get "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information." from the Windows installer. What do I do? Thanks.
just to add to the mix. . . i just got a new macbook retina.
Originally used a USB flash drive. Hit the same barrier described here.
Spent a few hours with drive unplugging / replugging silliness. No progress. Went back into OSX to attempt using an external DVD drive. There is no option for that in Bootcamp assistant now - must use USB.
Grabbed a different USB stick and started again. This time I used the other USB port on the macbook (the one on the left). Everything worked fine this time!?
You still have to go into "advanced options" and hit "format" when you get to the partition screen.
Moral of the story: different stick, different port. Sounds random. If that doesn't work, try changing your socks and putting on a hat.

Creating a Business system in the SLD
I am receiving an error message when trying to create a business system in the SLD. The error is "The selected client has an associated logical system nae that is already used for another business system. Select a different client."
Here is my issue. The business system that I am creating is for our R/3 4.6C production system. I currently have a business system for our R/3 4.6C quality system. Our prodution and quality R/3 systems do have the same logical system name and client number. This is because we recreate our qaulity R/3 system from our production system.
So, the question is, How do I create a business system in the SLD for my production R/3 system when the logical system name is used assoicated with and business system.
I should add that all my R/3 systems have been created as technical systems without any problems.

JimIt is recommended to have all ALE names unique.
If it is not possible the following workaround can be used.
Create one system in SLD (business system/technical system) which contains the ALE name. Proposal: The production system
Create the other systems(dev/QA) without the ALE name
During configuration the production system will be configured as usual.
For Dev/QA systems: Define in the receiver agreement the header mapping and use The Receiver service to reference the production system. Because you reference the production system the ALE name of the production system will be used to fill the idoc. -
Error when creating SAP source-system in RSA1

we have a new bi-installation. the bi-system is running in the SAME system as our erp 2005-system is running.
the bi-client is 700, our source-system (FI/CO) client is 101. I want to create a source-system in RSA1. at the end i get the following error message:
<b>Name D01MAND700 of client 700 is not the same as the name D01MAND101 of the Warehouse

Diagnosis
In order to guarantee error-free communication between the source system and the SAP Business Information Warehouse, the logical system names must be known to both.
The system has established that the selected source system name D01MAND101 in the SAP Business Information Warehouse is not the same as the logical system name D01MAND700.
System Response
Processing has been terminated and all changes undone.
Procedure
Create the source system under the name D01MAND700 in the SAP Business Information Warehouse or change the logical system name for client 700 to D01MAND101 in the ALE customizing screen of the source system.
Note that the logical system name for client 700 may already be being used for other ALE scenarios. If this is the case you are not able to change the name.</b>
i don't understand this error ? is it because the BI-system and the erp-system is the SAME system ?

 First log on to SAP R/3 server connections Go to SCC4 in R/3 & in Scc4 BW server. A screen opens in that logical name of the system would be opened in both (R/3 & BW).
 Take notepad in it save .R/3 & BW logical names go to R/3 & click SM59 to create R/3 connections click then a screen opens gives BW logical name in RFC Destination option & give connection. type 3 & give some description & then press enter.
 You will get another screen under it then at target host gives BW server name we will get it from BW logon change ID, IP address option & give the system no. The system no go to logon pad just drag it then you will see the name.
 Then click on log on securities go to log on give BW server details like No, client user Password. Then save it then click test connection tab if there are errors then it gives yellow color if they are no error the whole thing come as white.
 Then click on the Remote Logon then we go to BW server give RFC SM59 & click create. Then give the server name which is at the bottom right corner give it then give the no, name, password in logon Security save it & test connection & then remote logon.
 R/3 - B W - R/3
 Logical connection source system connection is used to transfer the data from R/3 to BW. Go to BW system& click RSA1 go to source system option go to top to the source systems right click on it. Then click create then a screens opens then.
 PC Flat file , DB  Database
 Select the option manual then a screen appears RFC Destination, Logical source name then click OK then it goes to opens other screen save it test connection then remote login then it go back to the then a screen opens then click only activate.
 BW  RS1  SOURCE SYSTEM  CREATE MANUAL AUTOMATIC CELL
 R/3  Test connections login  back  replicate method  active data R/3 Source system you will able to.

From R/3 to CRM create one logical system for CRM client 300.
Suppose i create one logical system for CRM in R/3 TO CRM scenario for client 300.another user wants to work on jdbc to CRM client 300 for this he wants to create another logical system for client 300 it is not possible,so,it is ok if he assign same logical system when he was working for CRM client 300 when he wants to create business system for CRM in JDBC to CRM.

Business Systems are te logical system name for a CLient in the SAP.
These can be reused again for different configuration scnario that you must have created for different interface.
All you need to do is assing the Business system to your configuration scenario and Communication channel to the same.

** File to IDoc scenario - IDoc not created in target system
Hi friends,
We are doing File to IDoc scenario. We made required setting in both application as well as XI system. While test the scenario, the file is picked up and successfully processed in SXMB_MONI, but the inbound IDoc is not created in target system. What could be the problem?
We are using DEBMAS message type DEBMAS06 IDoc type. We checked the following.
1) SM59 - Connections are OK both application and XI system
2) IDX1 - In XI System, we have assigned SAP<R/3> port.
3) IDX2 - IDoc is imported.
4) In ID - Sender File - Business Service - Adapter-Specific Identifier - Logical System name is given.
5) In application system. - Partner Profile maintained correctly.
6) SM58 - There is no error.
So, what could be the reason ?

Check all the steps ..
File to IDOC
Do these configurations in R/3 and in XI...
SAP XI
1) RFC Destination (SM59)
a) Choose create.
b) Specify the name of the RFC destination
c) Select connection type as 3 and save
d) In the technical settings tab enter the details SAP SID/URL and system number#.
e) Enter the Gateway host as same details above SID/URL.
f) Gateway service is 3300+system number#.
g) In the Logon /Security tab, enter the client user & Password details of Destination system.
h) Test the connection and remote logon.
2) Create Port (IDX1)
a) Select create new button
b) Enter the port name as SAP+SID (The starting char should be SAP)
c) Enter the destination client.
d) Enter the RFC Destination created in SAP R/3 towards other system.
e) Save
3) Load Meta Data for IDOC (IDX2)
a) Create new
b) IDOC Message Type
c) Enter port created in IDX1.
SAP R/3
1) RFC Destination (SM59)
a) Choose create.
b) Specify the name of the RFC destination
c) Select connection type as 3 and save
d) In the technical settings tab enter the details SAP SID/URL and system number#.
e) Enter the Gateway host as same details above SID/URL.
f) Gateway service is 3300+system number#.

a) First Select Transactional RFC and then click create button
b) Enter the destination port name as SAP+SID (The starting char should be SAP)
c) Enter the destination client.
d) Enter the RFC Destination created in SAP R/3 towards other system.
e) Save
3) Create Partner Profile (WE20)
a) Create New
b) Create the Partner no. name as same the logical system name of the destination system.
c) Select Partner type LS
d) Enter details for Type: US/USER, Agent, and Lang.
e) Click on the + button to select the message type.
f) Select Partner no. and LS which ever create above.
g) Select Message type
h) Select Process code related to the Message type.
I) save.
