Creating a connection to Orchestrator from Service manager

HI,
i have finish installing System Center Orchestrator 2012 R2 and i was trying to integrate Configuration Manager and Service Manager with Orchestrator, however i ran into a problem when i was trying to access the Orchestrator Web Service URL
for example  http://someserver:100/Orchestrator2012/Orchestrator.svc
and its showing the following error for the above URL,
Server Error in '/' Application.
The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL
and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Requested URL: /Orchestrator2012/Orchestrator.svc
Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:4.0.30319; ASP.NET Version:4.0.30319.1
I was wondering if there is some configurations that needs to be done on Orchestrator or did i miss something out in the installation part of the Orchestrator.
Another question that i had was that how does the two way communication works with CM and Orchestrator directly?     How does the two way communication happens with CM and SM?
Thanks.

Hi,
It happens sometimes. The Orchestrator's web service isn't functional for some reasons. For your other questions I can say that SM connects to Orchestrator using the Orchestrator's web service. It seems that Orchestrator connects to SM using SM's API.
Cheers,
Marat

The connection to the server was unsuccessful. Please check the server name and/or credentials entered.
Additional Information: The server URL is not accessible or the user does not have permission to access it (message: The request failed. The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

Someone sorted out this issue by installing API 1.2 and copying the dll files to the service manager server ,service folder and replacing it with API 2.0 dll files.
Also, your question is related to SCSM, please post at SCSM forum if you have further question.

  • Runbook for decommission vm from service manager end portal

    Hi,
I have created runbook for provision vm in VMware and it is working fine from service manager self service portal...
Now my next requirement is end user should be able delete the vm which he provisioned from the portal....
So, I have created one simple work flow for delete VM and only vm name is the input parameter...
Now when create the request offering user should get the list of vms which he provisioned...How can I get the list of vms in request offering?
Thanks in advance for your help...

    Hi,
This blog post show you query based list
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/servicemanager/archive/2011/11/08/request-offering-wizard-overview.aspx and this
    http://www.buchatech.com/2013/11/service-manager-request-offering-multiselect-user-prompt/
First you need to make sure you have the machines in Service Manager CMDB. If it is domain joined servers they should be in the CMDB, from the Active Directory connector. Then you need to have a way to filter out which machines to show for a user. When a
end user browse to the SCSM portal you can access the username from the service offering by a varaible named Token Portal User Name. The Token: Portal User Name is in format CONTOSO\leni (DOMAIN\username)
You can use it to filter which servers to show, if you add DOMAIN\username on a attribut on each server. For example if you add the owner of the VM to each server, in format DOMAIN\username you can then configure the query based list to show list all servers
were the notes field or owners field is equal to Token Portal User Name.
Once you have all servers in the CMDB and servers has owner in correct format you can start thinking about new runbooks.

  • Connecting to HP Business Service Management BSM ?

Has anyone tried to connect to HP Business Service Management using SNMP or do you know if a plug-in / connector is on its way for this.

Worked this issue today with Dell Pro Support and Microsoft Pro Support. We were not able to determine the root cause of this issue. It was something of a
firedrill, the VM was not responding to requests to shut it down gracefully. The disk in question generating the warning was Disk 1 for me:
    Event
ID 153 - The IO Operation at logical block address xxxx for Disk 1 was retried.
    andthis
VM has a physical disk0 so we are not sure what disk one was. Was able to turn off the VM from hyper v manager and then bring it online again with no issues. The warning 153 has cleared
    itself for now. Would like
know the root cause and how I could avoid this pitfall if it
happens again. But for now I will settle for all services running.

  • How to create a Domain user in a Specific OU using System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator and Service Manager

    Dear All,
I have a simple Runbook with the following details:
Initialize Data: (First Name, Last Name, Login Name, Deparment Name) --> Create User: Name:(Domain), Common Name, Display Name, First, Last Name, SAM Account Name (From Initialize Data) --> Enable
User: Distinguished Name --> Add User to Group: Group Distinguished Name, User Distinguished Name
Active Directory Management Pack in place and the Prerequisites Configurations are added Too (Configuration User Name, Configuration Password, Configuration DC, Configuration Default OU.
The Runbook is Synched with Service Manager, Request Offering/Service Offering and published to the portal.
When I filled the 4 required values (First Name, Last Name, Login Name, Deparment Name), the Runbook will kick off and the user is created in Active Directory.
The user is placed in the Default OU which is predefined in AD Prerequisites Configurations in Orchestrator.
I need to add another Required Value to my Request Offering (SR) called User Level Enum List (Low, Medium, High).
I need to place the user in a Specific OU based on the Level entered from SSPortal, If the user is Low, then Create the user in this OU, if the user is Medium then create it in this OU, etc...
How can I do this in Orchestrator? What I want to modify in my runbook to accomplish this task?
    Thank you,

  • Get user comments from Service Manager 2012

    Hi all,
For some Service Manager customizations, I want to "export" the user comments from incident tickets to an email message. I want to do this with Orchestrator.
I was thinking to create a runbook with the follow components:
    - Get Incident
    - Get relationship (Related class = Trouble Ticket User comments)
In the last activity "send mail", I want to add the user comments. But I can't find the user comments from the Published data. (see print screen)
Know anyone of you if it is possible to get the user comments? If Yes, How to do that?

    Hi!
Yes, it is possible. "Get Relationship" does just exactly that, it only gets the relationship between the Incident object and the Trouble Ticket User Comment object. After you have retrieved this, you then need to get the actual related object.
To do that, you Get Object, the class you want (in this case Trouble Ticket User Comment), then make sure you add a filter to search for the "Related Object Guid" from the published data of the Get Relationship.
Make sure you select the "Related Object Guid"! It is a very common mistake to choose "SC Object Guid", but that is just the guid of the relationship...not the object you want ;)
A bit tricky to understand at first, but easy enough after you get the hang of it.

  • Could not connect to Orchestrator web service - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials

I am trying to set up the Orchestrator Connector for Service Manager, when running the test, I get the error
<h2>401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.</h2>
<h3>You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.</h3>
The account I am using is the system account for Service Manager. I have added that account to the local admin group on the Orchestrator server as well as the Orchestrator admin group. But to no avail.
Now when I am logged on to the Orchestrator server locally with my account, I can access the Orchestration Console with no problem, however when I try to connect to it remotely using my account, it will not accept my credentials. I need to sort this out,
    can anyone help?

I found the solution, using the IIS Manager I changed the Windows authentication providers by moving NTLM above negotiate.

  • Not Possible Create Database Connection to Essbase From Web Analysis Studio

    Hello
It is not possible to create a database connection to Essbase cluster from Web Analysis (WA) Studio. The following error message is displayed:
"Unable to retrieve the list of available databases"
    And the detail:
[1033] Native: 1003 Error: Create connection failed [For input string:
    [ApsServer=, OlapServer=[HOST];]]
Foundation Services, Agent, Financial Reporting and Web Analysis are enabled.
As additional information from EAS can seamlessly connect to Essbase server.
    The EPM version is 11.1.2.2
    Please help. thanks
    regards
    Rodrigo

    Hi ,
For creating a WebAnalysis database connection, please make sure you do the following :
    1. Verify if you have Essbase client installed on the WebAnalysis server.
    2. Check if the path of adm drivers are mentioned in the system environment variable -> PATH entries.
    3. Try giving the Essbase server name instead of the cluster name when attempting to create a connection.
    4. The error 1003 means it doesnt seem to create a connection with the server and while attempting it fails.
Make sure you have all the parameters mentioned correctly in the server details.
To get detailed information on what is causing the problem, make sure you stop the WebAnalysis service and start it from console .

  • How to create a Demand in RPA from Service Request?

    Hi All,
Could you please explain me how to create Demands to be shown in RPA when Service Request's status is set to Released.
I have done the below mentioned configurations so far.
Marked the "Resource Planning Relevance" in zitem category (copy of SRQI), created a Status profile with Released status with System status "RELE" and assigned this profile to ztransaction type (copy of SRVR).
Generally, Service Orders are referred as Demands and the released service orders are shown in RPA to assign to the most suitable and available service engineer.  But our requirement is to create demands from Service Requests instead of Service Orders.
Please explain me how to proceed for this scenario.  What are the settings do I have to perform in CRM system?
Kindly help me with your inputs.
    Regards,
    Maddy

    Hi Anais Jaussaud,
Thank you very much for your reply.
My issue now is, after setting the status to Released in Service Request and saved, I checked for the demands in Resource Planning but the released Service Request is not displayed in Demands.
I had performed the settings mentioned above in my first post.
Please help me with what is missing..

  • System & Installation Numbers are missing from Service Manager

    Hi All,
We have just upgraded a system from 2007A to 8.8 and when you start the Service Manager the System and Installation Numbers are missing. Any idea as to why?
    Best regards
    Earl

    Hi,
Please note that this is on account of Number Range Buffering in SAP. You can check for itsu2019 settings in T.Code: SNRO for Object: RP_REINR.
This is an SAP standard functionality and, there is no need to touch these settings. You can refer the below link:

  • Connecting to UCS6120 from Fabric Manager using TACACS

    Standalone Fabric Manager 5.0(4a)
    UCS 1.4(3s)
I have to log into Fabric Manager using TACACS with SNMPv3 (company network security restriction).
I launch Fabric Manger using my TACACS account which connects to all the switches in my two fabrics using the same credentials.
I can connect to all MDS9513, MDS9222i, IBM Bladechassis FC switch modules and all NX5020 switches in the fabrics. Fabric Manager cannot connect to any of the eight UCS6120 switches in the fabrics, returning a status of Unknow User or Password(Server,Client).
This, I understand, requires the creation of a specific SNMP user, which is fine. However as I am logged into Fabric Manager using a single TACACS account, I cannot supply alternate credentials to a subset of switches in the fabric.
Is there a work around for this to enable management of the 6120s in FM? or am I missing something.
    Thanks
    Mike Taylor

Fabric Manager uses the same credentials to access all systems,  these credentials will need to be valid on the UCS platform as well.  Create a local SNMP user on UCS and check.  This needs to be different from any non-snmp authentication accounts on UCS.
Note that FM cannot manage UCS.  You will be able to view into UCS but not make changes. May not be an issue if UCSM is running end host mode.  To make any changes, you will need to use the UCSM GUI or CLI or other tool for administration.

  • Unable to create JCO connections for ESS self service

    Hello SDN,
I am configuring the ESS for an EP 7.0 and a ECC 6.0(EP and ECC are combined in one instance).
I need to configure some JCO connections at:
    http://host:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcwdtools/Explorer
But i cannot create any JCO connection from there. I filled in all fields that are necessary. But I keep receiving this error messages:
    MsgServerName is not defined.
    SystemName is not defined.
    LogonGroupName is not defined.
Which is strange because I have defined the right message server. The SLD connection to the SLD is working fine. I have upgraded the SLD and the EP java stack to SP 9.0 which is the highest level.
Does anyone know the solution for this problem?

  • System Center - Service Manager Connecting with Configuration Manager

    Hi,
I have System Center 2012 R2 - Service Manager and Configuration Manager (CM) installed, and i have created a connector from Service Manager (SM) to CM which imports data from CM. the question that i have is that is there two way communication
of the data between SM and CM.
Second question that i have is if i have created some change request in the SM, will it show up in the CM as what needs to be completed.
    Thanks

    wow, that's a big question.
Service Manager is a representational object database. there are objects in the database that represent objects in your environment. Most things in service manager are either Work Items (incident, change request, service request, etc) or config items (servers,
databases, software, users, domains, printers, locations, budget centers, purchase orders, workstations, hard drives, network cards, switches, business services, etc).  there are a few other classifications, but for now, lets just deal with those two.
there are also relationships between those objects, showing how those objects interconnect. For instance, say i report a problem. in the database, the user config item object that represents me is related to the incident work item object that represents
my issue by the relationship System.WorkItemAffectedUser, Affected User.
the advantage of this approach is twofold: first, the Affect user on an incident isn't just a text field, it's actually the full object that represents me. so you can click on me and see everything about me that the system knows, and follow other relationships
to see my manager, etc. Second, because everything is related to the full object, i don't need to duplicate any info on the incident, just reference the related object.
So to address your first question, it does everything your IT environment does, assuming you tell it about it.
to your second question, it has whatever information you tell it. Here is where Connectors come into play. the AD connectors can get you Users, Computers, Printers, etc.  the Config Manager connector will get you detailed systems info, hardware, and
software (if you have Asset Intelligence turned on). the Ops Manager will get you a lot more info about the systems, Service Maps, health state, etc. And then there's
Provance makes a lot of money selling the DMP to let Orgs import data from vendors. not to mention their Asset lifecycle stuff, or Cireson's for that matter.
    TL;DR - a lot.
