Creating a customized Cancel Button

I have a page with 2 regions.
The 1st region has several text items and 2 buttons that are displayed conditionally.
When the page first renders, Button A is displayed. The user then enters a value in one of the text items and clicks Button A. This displays the 2nd region. Button A then disappears and Button B appears.
But I want the user to be able to start this process from scratch, i.e., have Button A appear on the form once again, with the form ready for him to enter another value in the text item and click Button A This is essentially just a Cancel button that returns the form back to its original state when the app was first entered.
Can somebody please tell me how to do that?

Hi Prohan
You can add a button to a page that clears the cache of any page. What I think you are asking for is a button on page N that redirects to page N and also clears the cache on page N.
To do this create a new button through the wizard and specify the page to re-direct to as the page you are adding the button to. When you've created the button you'll also have a branch created on this page for the button. Select the branch and in the Clear Cache section enter your page number.
Alternatively, if you only want to clear some of the items on the page then create the button as above and leave the Clear Cache field empty. Instead enter the fields you want to clear in the 'Set these items' field and only enter comma's in the 'With these values' field. For example, to only clear fields 1, 2 and 3 enter
Set these values - P1_ITEM1, P1_ITEM2, P1_ITEM3
With these values - ,,
Hope this helps.

  • How to create a custom query button in Portal?

    Hello,
    I have a requirement.
    In the portal form developed on a table, I have a EmpCD field which is a LOV. when I select a empcd from the LOV, I want to display that empcd details like EmpName, EmpDept, etc. Is is possible to auto-refresh the page with this condition?
    Or, if this can be done with a custom button on the form, that is, if a user select the empcd from the LOV and then press this custom button, then on this, it gets the desired values from the underlying tables and displays them as labels on the portal form page.
    Any help would be desirable. I am trying this for the past so many days but without any luck. I tried searching the Forums as well as Metalink but could not get anything.
    Thanks.
    Saabir.

    Hi John,
    You can add a new button from the "Formatting and Validation " section by clicking on the FORM+ at the top of all the table fields.You can not do your own where clause as the query is made which includes all the columns of the form as shown on the form .
    for your own queries what you van do is that you can leave the field blank if you do not want that field to be added in the where clause.If you want to add the field to the where clause you can use operators (against each field in there text boxes) to make your own where clause.More operators support are supported in the
    latest version.
    Hope this give you some Information regarding your doubt.

  • How do I create an input box with a cancel button that will end a loop in my script?

    I have been working on a script for my client and I am having trouble getting it to work properly. I stole most of the code from the PowerShell Tip of the Week "Creating a Custom Input Box". I also took someone's code for the Show-MessageBox function.
    I have slightly modified the original code with two parameters and an additional text box. The first field is for an e-mail address and the second is for an employee number.
    I need to know how I can get a Do Until loop to recognize when the cancel button is pushed and break the loop and effectively end the script. The work happens at the end but perhaps I need something added/modified in the InputBox function.
    I want the script to check to see if anything has been entered in the second text box. If empty it displays a message and calls the InputBox function again. Then if there is something I use elseif to check to see if it matches my RegEx (digits only). If
    it doesn't match it will loop and call the InputBox function again.
    This all works fine. The problem I am having is that I cannot cancel out of the form. I'd like the loop to continue until the second box matches my RegEx or Cancel is clicked. Clicking cancel doesn't break the loop. I need to know how I can stop the loop
    when cancel is pressed. I've seen Stack "Overflow: PowerShell Cancel Button Stop Script" but I don't think this will work in a loop.
    Any help would be awesome. As a note, I DO NOT want to use the VB Interaction stuff.

  • How to create a custom control of a button where the look will be applied to all others but not the Boolean text?

    Hi all
    I would like to create a customized button as a master so that if I change the look of the master all other buttons will change too.
    I have done this with a custom control as a "strict type def" otherwise the look will not change BUT If I do this as a strict type def I cannot change the Boolean text anymore which should be different on every button.
    How can I create a master control of a button where the look will be applied to all others but not the Boolean text?

    Steve Chandler wrote:
    I don't think you can do that. I just looked and as I suspected the Boolean text property is read only for strict typedefs so you cannot use property nodes to change the text.
    As a workaround just make it a typedef. When you want to change the look open the typedef and make it strict, make your changes, then make it non strict again. You will have to update the Boolean text again for all instances. Kind of a pain. Maybe this is something for the idea exchange.

  • How to create a custom Button in a SNP planning book

    Hi Experts,
    I created my own Planning Book and Dataview in SNP with 3 Key Figures: KF1, KF2, KF3. Now I want to create one my own button with Macro so that when I press that button, the Macro will run to calculate: KF3 = KF1 + KF2.
    I know that I can drag this Macro to one of default events like: Default, Level Change, Start. But actually, I want to create my own button so that I can handle the event as I want.
    My question are:
    1. How to create a custom button on the toolbar of SNP Planning book and writing macro for the button?
    2. Please give me any document, material teaching about writing macro and relating to my above scenario.
    Thanks very much!

    Hi,
    Access the transaction "/n/sapapo/advm". In the list select your planning book/ data view and click 'Start Macro Builder' button.
    In the Macro builder screen, drag and drop your macro from Macro depot to the work area.
    Right click on your macro name and select 'properties'. In the pop up, next to the Assigned Push button field, there is a button 'Choose'. Click that. It will display all the available icons. In standard system, it displays more than 1000 icon. Choose any one icon which is suitable for your macro function. Close the pop up and save the macro. This will assign a push button to your macro.
    In the Planning book tool bar, you can see the selected icon in the header tool bar. Just by clicking that icon, you can execute the macro interactively.
    And I don't know whether we can include/design our own icon. But there are already 1000+ standard icons to choose.

  • Blank row added after cancel button on create page

    Hi All,
    I have a create item page where I insert items into the item table in the database.
    On press of the cancel button on this create page, the control reaches a itemlist page with my old search criteria and result but with a new blank row added to it.
    Anybody know what's wrong?

    Sorry, I misunderstood your previous question. When the cancel button is pressed. I am using pageContext.forwardImmediately with parameters to forward back to my search page. Then in the search page controller I call the AM initQuery method to run the query. My initQuery method has the following code,
    StringBuffer whereClause = new StringBuffer(200);
    Vector parameters = new Vector(3);
    int clauseCount = 0;
    int bindCount = 0;
    setWhereClauseParams(null);
    if ((Program != null) && (!("".equals(Program.trim()))))
    whereClause.append("PROGRAM = :");
    whereClause.append(++bindCount);
    parameters.addElement(Program);
    clauseCount++;
    if ((PId != null) && (!("".equals(PId.trim()))))
    Number PIdNum = null;
    try
    PIdNum = new Number(PId);
    catch(Exception e)
    throw new OAException("AK", "FWK_TBX_INVALID_EMP_NUMBER");
    if (bindCount > 0)
    whereClause.append(" AND (P_ID = :");
    else
    whereClause.append(" (P_ID = :");
    whereClause.append(++bindCount);
    whereClause.append(")");
    parameters.addElement(PIdNum);
    clauseCount++;
    setWhereClause(whereClause.toString());
    if (bindCount > 0)
    Object[] params = new Object[bindCount];
    parameters.copyInto(params);
    setWhereClauseParams(params);

  • How do you create a custom control which has several buttons?

    Can you do this in LabView?
    I want to make it so that one button will disable or switch the value/state of another. (Think minesweeper). I can create the logic in a subVI, but only if I have access to the property nodes of each of the buttons.
    I want the front panel of the main VI to have the buttons on it, and I don't want the buttons to appear in a separate window.
    If I place all of the buttons individually on the front panel of the main VI and pass their references to the subVI, I end up with tons and tons of variables in the main VI block diagram. It works but is very very messy.
    I tried to create a custom control with a cluster of buttons in it, but I can't seem to get at the individual property nodes. Is it possible?
    (*sighs* I wanna Class!)
    Thanks in advance
    jen

    Hi Jen
    Yes it is possible to get the individual property nodes of controls that are in a cluster.
    You have a property Controls[] in the property node of the cluster, so you get an array of control references. You just have to extract the single references to access the controls.
    I attached a screen-shot, which shows this possibility.
    Hope it helps.

  • Creating a dialog box with OK and Cancel buttons without OADialogPage

    Hi Experts,
    i want to create a dialog box for Delete Confirmation means after clicking on delete it should pop up a small dialog box with OK/Cancel buttons
    and need code for the same to handle the buttons.
    i have created with OADialogPage but its showing in a complete page but i want to show those buttons in a small box.
    Plz help.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE.
    Thanks
    Raja.

    Hi,
    I have not tried using javascript in destination URI as suggested by Mukul.
    I have tried the below code for opening a page as dialog box.
    You can try it for your requirement by creating a dialog page of your own, say XXDialogPage (with OK and Cancel button)
    StringBuffer l_buffer = new StringBuffer();
    l_buffer.append("javascript:mywin = openWindow(top, '");
    String url = "/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?page=/xx/oracle/apps/fnd/dialog/webui/OADialogPG";
    OAUrl popupUrl = new OAUrl(url, OAWebBeanConstants.ADD_BREAD_CRUMB_SAVE );
    String strUrl = popupUrl.createURL(pageContext);
    l_buffer.append(strUrl.toString());
    l_buffer.append("', 'lovWindow', {width:500, height:500},false,'dialog',null);");
    pageContext.putJavaScriptFunction("SomeName",l_buffer.toString());
    In dialog page's controller, you can forward it to the page onc ethe user selects OK or Cancel.
    Pass the selected value back to the main page and further you can use it for deleting.

  • StandardView button is being selected in the ribbon even user clicks on Datasheet view of a library created using custom template.

    Hi,
    We have an issue with one of the library created using custom library template. Eventhough user selects Datasheet view from the ribbon it's showing Standard view button as selected. However content is being correctly in the grid view. Can some one help me
    in sorting this issue.
    NB: Functionality is working as expected with library created using OOB document library template.
    In the above screen shot Datasheet was selected.but Standard View was highlighted.
    Is that something should be done in schema.xml file?
    Thanks,
    Venugopal

    Hi Venugopal Pulagam,
    This seems a weird issue, based on my understanding, it is not caused by SharePoint. I haven’t seen that there is settings in list instance schema file can effect this to happen.
    To narrow down this issue, would you please check whether this can be reproduced in other type of browser?
    And as this only happens for this specific library, please create a new list based on the template, check the result.
    How you create the list template, please share the steps to reproduce the issue.
    Thanks,

  • Create custom Edit button for list on SharePoint 2013 page

    Hi
    I have a custom list which holds contact information such as name, telephone, address.  I am displaying the custom list webpart with using a custom view on the site home page which only shows name and telephone.  It should only
    have 1 item so 'New Item' is not needed.  However I still need to be able to edit the item.  If I click 'Edit' on the list view on the home page, it will open a quick edit box only showing name and telephone.
    How can I create a custom button on the home page that will open the custom list item form instead?  Therefore all columns will be editable and I can remove the "New and Edit" toolbar from the webpart.
    Marc Collins www.QGate.co.uk

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to open the custom list item form.
    Per my knowledge, there is out of box method to achieve it.
    After you insert the web part to a page, you need to edit the web part and change List Views as below, then it will remove the "New and Edit" toolbar from the webpart.
    In the page, if you click the web part , the ribbon will appear. After you select the item and click Edit Item, the edit form with all fields will be displayed.
    Thanks,

    Thanks in advance.

    What you are asking here is something complex enough that nobody is going to explain it to you in one forum post. We are talking about creating your own custom button component. I would suggest you check out the book [Filthy Rich Clients|http://www.amazon.com/Filthy-Rich-Clients-Developing-Applications/dp/0132413930/].

  • How to create a navigation bar with custom made buttons?

    I'm used to work with a similar program as Muse. In there we can create a single button and link them together into a navigation bar. I have tried all sorts of tutorials but none of them is discussing this possibility.
    To summorize. The idea is to create a button in photoshop and to use this as a theme to build a navigation bar. Possible or not and how? Thanks for assistance. Rgds Rufin

    Hi Brad,
    Thanks for your reply.
    No, not really. I used to work with XARA up till now. And being an Adobe Cloud user I think it a bit silly using two different systems. In XARA I can create a custom button and turn them into a navbar. For your information I include a few links to sites I created with Xara and I would like to know if I can create the same type of navbars with Abobe Muse. I already found out that all the other functions are available and some work a lot better in Muse, but I’m stuck on the navbar issue. I know I can create a button in Adobe PS and use it in Muse. But I didn’t manage to figure out how to create a navbar in Muse on basis of a button created in PS.
