Creating a disc image from an iso file

I have a samsung Bluray player that requires and update. I downloaded the file (which is a zip), then expanded it. It is an iso file. I need to create a disc image (not a simple burn to a cd) in order to update my samsung player. How do I do that? Disc Utility?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The ISO file is on my desktop. I didn't understand how to get it to show in DU, but when I hit BURN, a navigation window opens...thank you.

Unable to create Disc Image from DVD

I get the following error when trying to make a copy of a family wedding DVD. I'm using Disc Utility and creating the image as a DVD/CD master (.cdr) file. It gets to about 3/4 of the way and then gives the following error.
The internal drive is a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K05

I do not know what that error means. However, if you open up the Disk Utility & go into it's Help Menu & in the search field type duplicating a CD or DVD. There you will find detailed instructions on how to create a disc image from a DVD.
Good possibility your answer may be found there and/or there may have been something you missed in creating a disc image.

Can iDVD create disc images from VIDEO_TS folder, and burn them?

That first question is pretty self-explanatory.
Background is this: I've downloaded some video folders/files from forum/torrent trading websites. When finished, I have a VIDEO_TS folder, often an EXTRAS_TS folder as well. A while back, I downloaded the app DVD IMAGER to create a disc image. Yesterday that stopped working effectively, so maybe I need to re-download, but I was wondering if there's just a better way? I also downloaded the app called BURN, but can't see yet how that creates disc images.
Once I create that disc image, I need to burn it, and I was using Disk Utility for that. I'm really looking for some help and advice on the best way to perform these processes.

Disk Utility 'Disk Image from Folder' looses file create date?

I have been working on creating backups that maintain the files' create dates. I have found the following anomoly using Disk Utility.
If I create a Disk Image From Folder, the create dates of all files are changed to be the same as the last modify dates. Not what I want.
If I creat a Blank Disk Image, and then using Finder to copy the files to the Disk Image, the create dates remain unchanged.
I can then burn the backup CD's with the Disk Image and the files' create dates are maintained. So, future restore from the backup CD will contain the original files' create dates.
Does anyone know if Disk Utility's Create Disk Image from Folder is supposed to loose the files' create dates? What other file attributes are being lost? Mac OS X maintains all of these attributes, and create dates via Finder copies, I would expect the Disk Utility Create Disk Image from Folder to do the same.

To follow up on this post, I know at least part of the answer. The difference between the two becomes clearer if you read the documentation (man pages) for hdiutil and asr. Image 1 will be created in file mode, whereas image 2 will be in block mode, ie bypassing the file system. Image 1 will consist of a series of files, whereas image 2 will contain a series of blocks, mirroring the original layout of the hard disk.
Technically the latter should be faster to restore (in block mode), although Apple recommend the first procedure (see man page for hdiutil). I haven't seen any evidence that images created in block mode can be mounted or restored, although you might be able to burn such images to a optical disks if applicable.
As I've pointed out in another thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1508199&tstart=0) I believe that this functionality should not be offered in disk utility, and I consider it a serious bug.

Problem in unattended installation of Windows 10 OS image from its ISO

I am trying to install unattended Windows 10 OS image from its ISO by unattended.xml. While doing it windows boot screen get stuck at windows setup screen where it ask input for Language, TIme format and Keyboard input method. For same
process if I use windows 8.1 ISO for installation it works fine. From technet I come to know that Windows 10 has NT DISM version as 6.4 and 8.1 has 6.3. But I am not getting how I can make these change in my automation..
We are creating a FLP file which includes (unattended.xml and few other files)and then specify that file to Vmware workstation Windows 10 image floppy drive and Windows 10 iso to DVD drive and then booting the VM.
Same process works for Windows 8.1 OS unattended installation but it is getting failed for Windows 10.

Creating an installation DVD from CS4 download files

Greetings! Has anyone managed to create a functional installation DVD(s) from the downloaded files of CS4 Design Premium. After extracting the files, which folders have to go on which DVD? I have both WIN and MAC and would like to install these from DVD.

Thanks for all the replies!! Gosh. Robert: Adobe support apparently told "cosmicone37" that "you can't create an installation DVD from the downloadable files. The only way to have a DVD installable version of any of the suites is to go through Adobe Support and get the DVDs through them." As stated by me, this is simply not true. Read below. Mike: The images I see kicking around on torrent sites have been made from a trial download. That is certain. They say so explicitly. Try69: Thanks for the input. Yes, storing them on a DVD at least frees up the HDD space. But they are of no use unless copied back to the HDD each time one wishes to alter the installation etc. So I don't consider this a solution to the question Brad raised. Brad... et all... Here is the answer. These instructions are for the master suite. 1) In your DVD-DL burner software set up a new project. 2) Call the disc ADBEMST4 3) Using the free 7-Zip program (google for it) extract the contents of the ADBESTAMCS4_LS1.7z file you have downloaded. 4) You need to edit the setup.xml file which is in the \Adobe CS4\Payloads folder Make it like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Setup version="2.0.138.0"> <Driver folder="AdobeMasterCollection4-mul-trial"/> <Media> <Volume> <Name>ADBEMST4</Name> <Payloads> <Payload folder="Acrobatcom-fr_FR"></Payload> ... snip (see note) .... <Payload folder="AdobeMasterCollection4-mul-trial"></Payload> </Payloads> </Volume> </Media> </Setup> NOTE: I have removed all but one of the payload lines because there are too many to post here. But on every payload line you are changing from: <Payload folder="Acrobatcom-fr_FR">Adobe CS4</Payload> to <Payload folder="Acrobatcom-fr_FR"></Payload> (as an example taken from the first payload line) Do that to every line. You are simply removing the "Adobe CS4" text. Or download the edited xml from here: (only valid for 10 downloads as I am not a rapidshare user) http://rapidshare.com/files/160301059/Setup.xml.html 5) Back to your DVD project. In the root of the disc you are creating, place all the files and folders in the \Adobe CS4 folder you ended up with after the extraction. Don't copy the \Adobe CS4 folder itself, just everything in it. So you'll end up with something looking like this: http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/8144/step5rh4.png (image not from me, just one I found whilst researching this) If you want the extra files to be included (as found in STAMCS4_Cont_LS1.exe) then extract these with 7-Zip also. Copy the resulting files to your disc project. If you don't need the additional languages, then don't add them to the project. You may already be going over the limit for DVD-DL... so check on that. 5) In your project put the new/edited setup.xml into the \Payloads folder. Remove the setup.xml already dragged into the project first, or overwrite it when you drag in the new one. 6) Burn 7) Install 8) Enjoy If you have any questions let me know. The .jpg file is getting created, but the data in it is very absurd, like yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Please help me in this matter.

How to create an Average Image from Gray Scale (8 bits) JPEG Images

I�m trying to create a mean image from 9 JPEG Images, but this mean image has lots of "noise", is distorced, and doesnt�resemble at all the original ones.
I need this mean image so I�ll correlate each of the original ones to find out the best image I�m going to choose ussing NCC (normalized cross correlation coeficient).
When I use setRGB(x,y,rgb), it returns diferent "images" according to the number of zeros, for ex.: rgb = 028028028 is different from 28028028 and from 282828. I can�t find a way to work it out.

How do I create a JPG image from a clip

I need to create a jpg image from a movie clip. Is making a freeze frame the same and creating a jpg?

A jpg image is saved by FCE in a new file, while a freeze frame in FCE is a still picture used for a sequence in a project, but not saved separately.
To make a jpg, position the playhead in the timeline on the frame you want to save and Export/Using QuickTime Conversion and select Format: Still Image.
You are asked for a file name.
To make a freeze frame, position the playhead in the timeline on the frame you want to reuse within the project and Modify/Make Freeze Frame. This leaves a new still in the viewer: you can drag it to the timeline, drag it to the browser, etc.. - However this does not create a separate file but stays embedded in the project where it is used.

The user immutable bit (uchg) is the same as the Finder lock, as described above by X423424X. It's a weak lock, with only a warning.
The system immutable bit (schg) is more powerful. Once is set, the item cannot be deleted in Finder (even though Finder will ask for your password and may give you the impression that it can trash it; it will end with an error).
I set it in Terminal, thus
$ sudo chflags schg my_encrypted_disk_image
and unset it also in Terminal
$ sudo chflags noschg my_encrypted_disk_image
(Note that, when you unset the system immutable bit, the change won't be reflected immediately in Finder, but the item can be trashed nevertheless.)

Figuring out how to extract images from a PDF file

Hi,
I'm trying to write a small app that extracts all images from a PDF file. I already wrote a nice parser and it works good but the only problem is that I can't quite figure out from the reference how to decode all images in a PDF file to normal files such as tiffs, jpegs, bmps etc. For now I'm focusing on XObject images and not dealing with inline images.
From what I understand so far just by trying and looking at open sources I figured that if I see a XObject Image with a DCTDecode filter, taking the stream data without doing anything to it and saving it as a jpeg file works. But doing the same to FlateDecoded streams or CCITTFax didn't work.
What is the right way to properly extract the images?

In general you have to
* decode the stream
* extract the pixel data
* use ColorSpace, BitsPerComponent, Decode and Width to unpack pixel
values
* reconstruct an image file format according to its specification
There are no other shortcuts. The DCTDecode shortcut (which doesn't
work for CMYK JPEG files) is just a piece of fantastic good luck.

Select clip in timeline and place the playhead over the frame you want to save as a JPEG. Open the share window ( Button on far right of tool bar) and select 'Save current frame'. If you don't see that option click on add destination and select the Save current frame choice. It will be added to your share options.
