Creating a 'dotted line' from a 'solid line'?

In Pages one can draw a line, and then choose to have it solid, or dotted, or a series-of-strokes (with a click). Is there anything comparable in Motion? I'd love to be able to turn my solid line into a 'dotted line' or 'series-of-strokes' with a single click.

Can you create a To Do from the Subject line of an email?

Does anyone know if it's possible to create a To Do from the subject line of an email in Mail?
Here's what I'm trying to do. I open a mail message, then I can highlight any text in the body of the message. When I do this, the To Do button becomes enabled. If I highlight the subject of the message, the To Do button remains disabled.
Is there any way of doing this aside from highlighting text, then changing the text?

How do i create a database template from the command line?

Hi,
As part of implementing a backup and recovery strategy for a client (including disaster recovery) I want to automate the creation of a database template From an Existing Database (Structure as well as data) via a script that will run every night.
The background to this is that we will also be using RMAN to take backups of the database concerned but the client does not want to wait while an RMAN backup is restored and so wants an additional level of insurance in the form of a ‘standby’ clone database.
The idea is that nightly we will run a script that creates a database template from the Existing Database (Structure as well as data) and then transfers the 2 files involved e.g. DB_data_included.dbc and DB_data_included.DFB across to a standby server where they can be used to recreate the database in the event of us needing to after e.g. a complete server failure.
So I have a couple of questions about this that I would be very grateful if something could answer for me:
1)     Is it possible? That is, can a database template be created from some utility by supplying a series of parameter=value pairs on the command line?
2)     If yes how do I go about it, what utility do I use (the emca utility?). and what parameters do I need to supply on the command line to create the template?
3)     The intention is that the script to create the template will run in the early hours of the morning when no-one is using the database but what state does the database need to be in when the template creation script runs i.e. up, down, mounted and does the creation of a template affect the state of an already up database i.e. if I kick off the template creation script and the database is up will it switch it into mount mode or anything like that? My concern here is that I want to make sure I understand exactly what is going on so that no users or connected external systems are affected?

Firstly thanks for you reponse.
However, I don’t agree that dbca only creates empty databases otherwise why does the option to create a template from an existing database (structure as well as data) exist in the dbca wizard?
I have performed a test case where I have a created a database template including data on one 10g server. I have then used the files generated to recreate that database on a separate server. When the new database is started it is an exact copy of the original. So it’s not empty at all , it’s exactly what the client wants.
So I don’t agree that I’m gaining zero.
Why is this approach doomed to fail?
There a number of reasons why I “just set up a proper standby database”
1.     Time – I’m on a customer site in a tight engagement where the customer wants maximum value for money. I don’t have standby database skills and the customer isn’t willing to pay for me to learn on the job so please understand the tight circumstances I’m working in.
2.     Availability – As far as I know the client is running 10.2.0.3.0 standard edition. Correct me if I’m wrong but is standby db available in that edition. Where do I look to check V$OPTION.
On the RMAN duplicating a database front it’s an area I haven’t used before but I will take a look at it.
Also please revisit the context of my original posting where I state

Sales order : Creation of VBAP main lines from VBEP schedule lines

Hello , I am working on SAP sales order interfacing with legacy system. This is the scenario where legacy system orders will come to SAP system for availability check. I mean , the legacy system sales order are replicalted in SAP system. and the availability check runs for it in APO.
Based on the SAP system stock availability , the sub item or sub items ( schedule lines) will be created in the sales order. Here is one example of partial quantity availability.Below example shows that sap system has received a order of quantity 100.
SAP stock available is only 20 for 29th may. Another quantity 80 will be available on 30th May.
So system will create two sub items or two schedule lines.
But when I save the sales order the sub-items lines should be converted into main item lines as shown in the below example in after save.
I tried this developement by using MV45AFZZ. User exit - SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE. But I am not getting right results.
I short , I would like to have single schedule line for one item line. And if there are multiple schedlue lines then for each schedule line one item line should be created automatically by the system

Create muliple TO Putaway from Inbound Delivery line tiems

Hi,
Let say, we want to create TO just for three first line of Inbound Delivery XXXXX using VL06I
In the item view screen we have selected one 3 line item
we ever been done it for several times, but TO created was not follow our need although we have already tick some certain lines only.
TO was created for all items as mention on one inbound delivery.
Its also happen whenever we want to create TO by put a PO # only and we put tick remark on some items on some inbound deliveries.
System will create TO for all items on that nominated PO #.
Bascially we want multiple TO for one IBD

Please check the Reservation Tables RKPF and RESB for the Linkage with other documents.Also you mentioned about Inbound Delivery Item? Shall I think that it is nothing but Material Document (inbound Goods receipt), in that case check the Tables MKPF and MSEG of that. You will find the Reservation Number in MSEG table through which you can link RESB table.
So now Write a select Query for MSEG and RESB tables.

AutoCreate is only creating a PO with 1 line from a 3 line Req

Hi to All,
I have my purchasing team running into this problem.
There is requisition that has 3 lines which are the same item description quantity by different price. So when we AutoCreate it picks up the first line and times it by 3.
Thus giving the following error message when trying to approve the PO:
"Line # 1 Shipment # 1 price does not fall within price tolerance"
How do we have AutoCreate pick up 3 lines and and place all 3 lines on the PO.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

how do i make this happen

How do I prevent preflight from converting my dotted lines to solid lines?

I am working on a booklet and at the end I have a notes page with dotted lines to keep the weight down, but when it goes through preflight, it changes my dotted line to a solid line that is too heavy. Is there any way to prevent this? I have to convert the files to B+W so I tried using Digital printing B+W and convert to grayscale, but both turn the dotted line to a solid line. If I use a color mode in the preflight, it won't change the line to solid, however then I can't get everything else to black and white. What do I do!?

Here is another way to convert to BW: (Acrobat X) Tools> Convert colors> Output intent- convert colors to output intent> Grey gamma 1.8

I would like to know how to create an alias (for a file, not a command) from the command line. I don't want to use the ln command, as an alias has more interesting features than soft/hard links... Is there an Apple specific tool to do this?

The only straightforward way that I am aware of for creating a "Finder" alias from the command line is using AppleScript via 'osascript'. Of course, it's not really a command line solution since the "Finder" has to be running. Anyway, something along the lines of:

Well the Green dotted line shows that you have functional wireless connectivity with the computer, however not all wireless devices are displayed with the dotted green line.
But basically the solid green line shows for the functional wired connection.

Problem while reading a line from a file

I am facing a problem while readinga line from a file ,
line contains some french characters due to which it skips sequence, returning invalid record in a variable
e.g 'abcdefghÛLasasa'
Starting Point of Û is 9 and if
V1:=substr(''abcdefghÛLasasa',9,3)
result is v1='ÛLas' which is invalid
can i anybody help me out in resolving this problem

Deleting line from Order

I had an order in SBO. It was synchronized do NP. Then i made an shipment for just 3 lines (5 lines in order). i deleted one line from order (this line was not on the delivery document, it will not be delivered).
In next synchronization i have conflict:

Is there possibility to synchronize order with deleted line (after shipment)

Hi Lukasz,
This is a known bug.
During synchronization, all line items are deleted and readded if the order is updated. If there is a delivery document already in place prior to the update, the delete of the line items will cause this error.
This is fixed in 2007 sp0 p3.
There is currently no fix for 5.9.
At the moment, the only way around this is to delete the shipment and shipment detail for this order in NetPoint.
You can then edit the delivery document in B1 to get the shipment to synch back to NetPoint.

Single ink line =single uniform traced line in Live Trace? Nope.

I'm using AI CS5 and I'm trying unsuccessfully to get a Technical Drawing result with ONE single traced uniform-thickness line from a single scanned drawn line in a Photoshop file. I am trying to NOT get a calligraphic line that runs thin-blob-thicker-blob-thin again, then becomes two parallel hairlines, then goes back to thick-thin. It may look hand-drawn and artsy; that's fine, but it isn't what I'm hoping for. I want a single standardized 1pt path with no double (supposedly outlined) sections. That's all I can get using the furshlugginer "Technical drawing" setting. Is that normal? If so, boy, have I got a feature request for Adobe! I realize that there will be occasional corners and feet that will become traced blobs that I will need to lop off, and I can handle that, but how do I draw a single line, scan it, then, in Live trace, achieve a single uniform line, like most of the actual, real, technical drawings I have seen? Or do I have a problematic copy of CS5?

Your point was well made, plus two more: Set the Max line width wide enough so that no blob or corner exceeds it, e.g., 30pt is around a quarter of an inch; if I set the line width max at 30 pts I'm likely to wind up with a clean, uniform 30pt line without blobs, from which I can simply assign a thinner weight, such as 1 pt. The other tip is to blur the original raster line slightly, so as to suggest a centerline, blurred at its edges; Live Trace will zero in on the phony "centerline". Is there a "use centerline" setting in Live trace? I seem to remember that there was one in Autotrace and in Streamline, but I'm unable to find one in Live Trace. Frankly, the value of the "options" presented in the Live Trace pallet isn't particularly obvious. I looked through the Illustrator Classroom in a Book, and was told to "experiment with all the options", but not how to get any particular result. In the end, the settings can be used to get the results I was looking for, but I had to do some serious digging, without much help from the documentation. I would think that getting one traced vector line from one raster line would be a natural place to start. Guess not.

[CS] Basic brushes create dotted lines instead of solid

I just received an almost-new Wacom CTL-470 tablet from my father yesterday, so naturally I began fooling around with Photoshop line drawings and simple art.
The initial problem I discovered was that, oddly enough, the basic brush tools, when dragged, would not create a solid line. It would only create a dotted line, the spaces between dots varying with speed of the pen against the tablet.
If I dragged the pen slowly enough (very... very slowly), it would create a kind of shaky line, which was just dots very close together.
Naturally I thought it was the tablet's fault, but upon trying to use the mouse to do the same function, the problem persisted.
I use Photoshop CS and I didn't change any settings at all today.
I have some things that friends wanted me to do for them, and this problem is starting to irritate me as I have no idea where it came from or how to get rid of it.
I would also like to know how I can use my tablet to create a tapering effect with my pen pressure. The "pen pressure" setting in the Brushes menu seemed to have no effect.
I have never experienced this problem before and I would like help as soon as possible. Thank you so much in advance.
Here's an example of the issue, both in large brushes and a smaller one in the background.

Look under Brush Tip Shape and look at the spacing settings or that spacing is not unchecked. (the default spacing is usually 25%)
For tapered strokes set the Size Jitter under Shape Dynamics to Pen Pressure, then the size varies depending on how hard you press the pen on the tablet.
