Creating a How-To Repository

What is the best solution for storing How-To's - blog, wiki, other?

There are multiple ways you can achieve this. This depends on your requirements. If you want your how-to section to be updatable by multiple users then go with the Wiki site approach. Where you will be creating pages for each How-To and different users
will be updating the content as necessary. You can connect multiple wiki pages easily if you go Wiki route.
If your how to section is not going to be updated by multiple users but if users are allowed to comment on this how-to section then go with the Blog site.
SharePoint 2013 also introduces new Community Sites. Those might be useful for your requirements as well.  You can read all about these new feature here.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219805.aspx
You can also use a simple custom list to build your How-To Section.

As I said earlier it all depends on your requirements but I have provided few options for you.

  • Creating the DB Control Repository to the EBS...

    Hi,
I want to create the DB Control Repository(OEM web-version) into the EBS system. Is the Document Id: 278100.1 the appropriate doc...????
Note: I use EBS 11.5.10 and DB 10.2.0.4
    Thank you,
    Sim

    Sim,
This note should be enough (as stated above). However, you may also refer to the following note (though it is for R12, but it does also work with 11i since your database version is 10.2.0.4) for some other reported/knows issues that you may encounter when enabling OEM DB Control.

  • Is there a way to create a local package repository

Is there a way to create a local package repository without technically being a mirror.  For example, setting up multiple AL box's on my network and having them grab all the latest packages from one AL box?
    Thanks,
    Craig

What you most likely want is an ABS tree of your own, containing only the PKGBUILDs of those packages which you want to be included in your repository.
You should already have heard of the gensync program. In short, the parameters are the root of PKGBUILDs, sorted in subdirectories (ie. like the ABS tree), the intented name and location of the repository database file, and the directory containing the binary packages.
Let's assume you downloaded the current ABS tree to your hard drive, as well as all matching (same version as in the PKGBUILDs!) packages from a mirror, but you don't want the reiserfsprogs package in your repository. To achieve that, you must remove the /var/abs/base/reiserfsprogs directory, and may optionally remove the binary package, too. Since gensync analyzes the ABS tree you supplied as a parameter, removing the subdirectory of a specific package will cause this very package to not be included in the generated database. Assuming your packages lie in /home/arch/i686/current, your gensync call would look like this:
    gensync /var/abs /home/arch/i686/current/current.db.tar.gz /home/arch/i686/current
If there are any discrepancies like
      - PKGBUILD, but no matching binary package found
      - PKGBUILD and binary package versions do not match
      - permission problems (writing the db file must be possible)
    gensync will gladly complain.
Otherwise you should find the db file in the place you specified. Keep in mind that the name of the db.tar.gz file must be equal to the repository tag in the pacman.conf to use the repo.
To make sure the db contains the right packages; use
    tar -tzf current.db.tar.gz | less
to list the contents. Every package has it's own subdirectory including the metadata, which is rather obvious considering the file's generated from such a structure in the first place.
The binary packages along with a correctly generated db file are all you need. Make the repository directory containing these files available through FTP if local availability doesn't cut it for you, edit your pacman.conf if needed, and use it!
Adding packages works similar; All you need to have is the PKGBUILD in an ABS-like tree (it doesn't have to be the official tree; gensync doesn't care where the files come from. Just stick to one subdirectory per PKGBUILD, and you'll be fine), and the matching packages somewhere else, run gensync with the appropriate directories, and cackle with glee.
    HTH.

  • I added a photo from camera roll to a created album, how can I delete that photo from camera roll and still keep photo in album

I added a photo from camera roll to a created album, how can I delete that photo from camera roll and still keep same photo in album?

You can't. It doesn't work that way.
the new album that you created doesn't contain a copy of the actual photo. It contains a pointer to that photo. If you delete it from the camera roll, you will delete it from the album that you created as well. Albums that you create on the iPad in the Photos app are for local organization only and cannot be transfer or imported to your computer, because there really are no photos in those albums

WHenWhen I export a pages document as an ePub file the result is a blank locked text edit file on my desk top not an ePub file as previously no problem creating. How do I fix? HHD

Try adding .epub to the end of the name.
I assume you are aware that to open an .epub file you need a special app, not TextEdit or Pages, right?

  • Creating a File-Based Repository HELP!

I am trying to create a file base repository and have 2 10g setups join it. I can create the respository on server a and get server a to join it without any problems. When I try to get remote server b to join it says it cannot find the repository. THere are no firewalls involved the machines are on the same subnet. If I do a netstat -l on server a it does not list the listen port that was stated in the getrepositoryid command.... What am I missing?

What I am really interested in is calling STORED PEOCEDURE in DB, not the one that attached with report. What good about this is that the procedures can be shared by FORMS and REPORTS. REPORTS call the procedure with select statement.
    Thanks.

My ipod is stuck in permanent shuffle. It won't play albums or my playlists in the order that they were created. How can I fix this?

Do yo have Shuffle turned on?
    - On the Now Playing screen on the right hand side below the scrubber bar are crossed arrows. That is the Shuffle control. Tap it until it is white for no shuffle
    - There is also Shake to Shuffle in Settings>Music
    If still problem:
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • HT4623 I need Genius update to create playlists, how do I get it?

I need Genius update to create playlists, how do I get it?

Yes, your problem is that the only version of pages now available from the App store is Pages 5.0.1. (the version you will have had before is Pages 09 (coded 4.x.x)).
To download (free, as you already 'own' Pages) you need Mavericks.  Follow sberman's advice, install Maverics, then you can download Pages for free via the App store.
Good news - files created in Pages 09 will open with Pages 5.0.1
Bad news - Pages 5.0.1 is seriously cut-down compared with 09 (to enhance compatibility with the iOS version).

It is asking for your computer administrator account password to make system changes.  You "should" have an administrator account password.
