Creating a iPhoto Book

I went brain dead and forgot how to delete a page from my iPhoto book that I am creating.
The instructions are not obvious to me.
Thank you.

To delete a page from a photo book:
Books require an even number of pages. If deleting a page creates an odd number of pages, iPhoto automatically adds a blank page to or deletes a blank page from your book to keep the page count at an even number.
Open the book project. The book pages appear in All Pages view.
Press the Control key while you click the page that you want to delete, and then choose Remove Page from the shortcut menu.Note:   You can also delete a page while viewing a page spread.A message appears asking if you want to delete the page.
Click Yes.

What resolution are the photos? What size are the photo frames are you placing them in? Are you getting the yellow low resolution warning triangle on them?
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.

  • Is it possible to add additional fonts when creating an iPhoto book?

Is it possible to add additional fonts when creating an iPhoto book?
I have some additional fonts that would add a lot to the overall appearance of my i Photo book but cannot find a method for installing them into iPhoto.
    Thanks for your assistance.

Use the Edit ➙ Shot Fonts menu option to bring up the Fost selection pane.
From there you can select any font you have installed on your Mac.

    Barbara,
If no one answers here there is an iPhoto forum. You can locate it by clicking Apple Support Communities in the upper left of this page then in the search field type iPhoto.

  • Finding Hidden PDF files created by iPhoto/Book

early last year there was a discussion concerning the hidden high res pdf files created by Book in iPhoto. I've searched for it with no luck. I want to use the pages I create in Book for Quicktime Slideshows, as I did then. Is this still possible with iPhoto 6 and if so does anyone know where they are hidden now? I did right click on the book and save a pdf of the book but the res does not seem very high.

It's been a while since you guys were on this topic, but here's my 2 cents.
Wanting to see a PDF of my book to check on some text wrap issues, I did click "buy now" last night and cancelled as soon as the book was done assembling and iPhoto started the upload. Didn't receive an e-mail thanking me for my order, so I figured things were fine.
This morning, I discovered a "pending transaction" to Apple on my bank account, and I am currently waiting to see if it will actually go through or not. When calling Apple Customer service, they told me my credit card was probably "pinged" because the order was started, but the charge may "fall off" because the upload was aborted. If I wanted to know for sure, I had to e-mail iPhoto support (calling wasn't possible), and could expect a response within 48 hrs. Well, within that time frame I will be able to see for myself what happens with that charge, but in the meantime the amount is deducted from my balance. So for anyone out there wondering what happens when you click "buy now," there you go.
The good news is, I did get the desired PDF file. I compared it with the file that "File>Print" generates and the only differences I see in a quick comparison are:
    - File>Print does not include the blank pages (inside covers and back page), so I end up with 55 pages instead of 58, and the file size is slightly smaller (46.6MB compared to 47.2MB)
    - File>Print's PDF shows 792x612 dimensions (under "get info"), compared to Buy Now's 797.76001 x 617.76001. I have no idea what that is about. Maybe a bleed or something?
    Hope this helps someone.

  • I created an Iphoto book...can I move the files

I created a book in Iphoto at work. I want to move this book/file to my computer at home. Has anyone had this happen to them? Is there a way to do this without recreating the book?
    Thanks

    Jonathan,
Old Toad likes to do this for each of his books, which he burns to DVD in case he wants to reorder in the future. It is a good way to ensure that you don't accidentally remove or edit a photo that would adversely affect the book.
Here's another cool tip from Old Toad. When the book is done he chooses Print. Inside the Print menu are PDF options. He does a "PDF to iPhoto" which makes a PDF of each book page, then imports them as jpegs into your library. Then he uses those jpegs in iDVD to create a slideshow version of the book, which he gives along with the book to the recipient. (Now I see you read this idea in another thread. Sorry, I didn't mean to repeat myself.)
I run my library from an external hard drive (it's too big for my mini's internal drive) and back up that entire drive to another external drive. I haven't yet felt the need to divide my library into multiples. I like that I can access all my photos from the same place, so all are available to me when I create a project like a calendar or book. A disadvantage to keeping multiple libraries is that only the most recently opened library will appear in the Media Pane of the other iLife apps (iMovie, iDVD, etc.) On the other hand, I have opened an old book to find a few photos missing. I had to go through the book and restore all the photos to it, and I still don't know why they disappeared from the book because they remained in my library the entire time. Fixing the book was easy enough, because I had the paper copy as a reference. So I can see how keeping a book and its library on DVD would be a great extra safety net. Of course, backing up the entire library is essential. I think Apple's answer to this is Time Machine in Leopard, and not with any feature of iPhoto itself.
    Regards.

  • Anyway to create an iPhoto book with text & no image on cover?

Would like to create a book with text only on the cover and no image. The only options with text require an image as well and as a result the pdf preview shows the square designated for an image (when no image provided). Any help/suggestions appreciated.

    Hi Richard,
In this community, "It cannot be done" means "It cannot be done with Pages '09."
The document in question was, obviously, produced using an application oter than Pages.

  • I have created an iPhoto book in Australia, but want to pay for it and have it delivered to NZ.  How do I do this please?

I have a photo book that I have created here in Australia, of my cousin's wedding.  My uncle in NZ wants to pay for the book with his NZ c/card and have it delivered to him.  I can't seem to change the delivery address to another country.  What are my options?
    Thanks,
    Trudi.

Billing Address and Shipping Address must both be in the same country.

  • Hi, I'm creating an iphoto book and need more design options.  Someone said I had a program called "Keynote" on my new imac.  Is that true, and if so where is it?    Thanks    e is it

Hi, I'm creating an ibook in iphoto and need more design options.  Someone said there was a program called "Keynote" on my new imac.  If so, how do I find it?

This application is very well available, just not preinstalled on your mac.
It costs $19 dollars on the Mac app store and is worth every penny.

  • Creating iphoto book and can't seem to view/ work on only one page at a time.

I am creating an iPhoto book and can't seem to view/work on only one page at a time.  The Navigator, that allows you to focus on a part of the page is actually 1 1/2 pages in size so 1 1/2 pages are in view when trying to work on one page.  What am I doing wrong or how can I fix this.  It is very distracting viewing half of a previous page when trying to create a new page and write a story to go with the related pictures.

My Navigator seems to be to large.  It covers 1 1/2 pages while in the training information it shows as the size of one page.  Is there a way to adjust the size of the Navigator?
You can hover the mouse over the left border of the Navigator - then the cursor will turn into a resize cursor and you can drag the border and make the Navigator panel smaller by enlarging the source list.
Or drag the lower right corner of the iPhoto window and shrink the appliaction window. This will only make the navigator smaller - the source list and information panel will stay the same size.

  • Using other apps to create iphoto book

I want to use indesign to create an iphoto book - just to give me some more control over text, layout etc. What are the dimensions of the page in the softcover book?

one thing I forgot to mention is that I'm in Australia and my only option is to burn the final pdf file to disc and post it off to the printer. While this could be seen as a hassle - it does allow me the added luxury of using other software to produce the book in - giving me additional options on layout etc. What I want to know is how much I should allow for the binding on the page. I have printed out pages on a dummy copy I have made in iphoto and the print comes out at 20 cm x 14.8 cm - which is a bit smaller than the 8 x 6 spec they mention on the specs for the soft cover. So I'm assuming that the additional .5 cm is for binding the book?

  • The page layouts for a book created in iPhoto are blank. How do I get the original book back?

    I have a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X, version 10.7.5, Memory 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3, Processor 2.53GHz, Intel Core 15. iPhoto '11 version 9.4.3.
I created an iPhoto book using iPhoto '9 in 2010. I bought the book and now want to buy another book. When I went to iPhoto, I discovered that all of the pages are blank. In the thumbnail for photos in project, the photos that I used are checked. Now I see that other photos for different books also show in the "photos in project" panel. Should I delete these foreign photos? How do I get the original book pages/layout back? Help! Patnd

Do you have a back up?
If not you're into using file recovery software like  File Salvage - you can download a free trial and it will scan the disk for you and tell you with might be recoverable. Actual recovery will require that you purchase the app. There may be many files with the same or similar names. Always recover the largest file size.
There are other such apps. Search on Macupdate or the App Store
