Creating a load bar....

When creating the load bar or load screen...Should I create it after I set up my webpage or can I set it up first....and if i can set it up first how will I see the load in load bar in action????

Hi, I think you may want the Flash Forum instead of this one, the Flash Player Forum. Also when you open your thread, on the right side there are "More like this" that may be helpful to you.
Thanks,

  • Two crashes: one OS crash with gray screen and loading bar- help? (Stuck overseas, so you guys are it!)

    Hey everyone.
When firefox crashed last night, I figured it was just firefox being difficult, but when while using firefox my entire computer crashed this afternoon and rebooted with a gray screen, the spinny wait symbol, and a loading bar, I started to get concerned. After looking through console, I'm not sure what's caused it to crash like this so I'm hoping one of you bright people here can tell me what exactly happened. I'm running a mac book pro with 10.6.8, have no real addons on firefox aside from adblock plus, divx, memory restart, a french dictionary, and a skin I've been using forever and have also spoken to the developer in the past about. I'm also using Firefox 17.0.1. After trying to google some of the more unfamiliar/suspicious lines (mostly relating to launch agents), I typed into terminal the command to list all launch agents and received 3 replies naming adobe, divx, and google. I used terminal to delete them all just for safe measure (plus the adobe update window has been irritating me to no end so maybe it'll go away now, haha). I did three things when I tried to boot up again after the crash and the weird launch screen with loading bar came up: 1) I held down the power button again because a) the screen was weirding me out and b) I thought it got hung up again (bar seemed to stall for an unusually long time), 2) I tried to boot again and when the same gray screen came back I just figured I had no choice and had to sit through it. 3) when the bar was at about half way I pulled out my ethernet cord for safe measure in case something shady was going on. These three things are also reflected in the log below.
I currently live overseas and the nearest Apple store is over two hours away with no guarantee of a native english speaker working, so if anyone can let me know what caused the crash and if there's anything I can do about it, I would be extremely grateful. The following is my current console log in its entirety from today, including my attempted system update to see if that would improve things (which also resulted in a gray screen with loading bar later), and a really weird bit at the end that is also confusing (but possibly caused by me tinkering in terminal- not sure).
NAME is replacing my HD name, and my screen name here (caithris) has replaced my computer user name. NUMBER has replaced anything that looks like a serial number of some kind.
Thanks so much ahead of time-- please let me know if there's anything else I can share.

The gray screen with loading bar issue is a at boot fsck (file system check) that has discovered something wrong with your boot drive/partition and was attempting to fix it.
OS X is booting but can't complete, so that means your hard drive is good, just likely has been either subjected to shock which damaged data on the platters, or bad sectors (the drive is dying if after fixing it, problems occurs again), or something messed something up in the file structure.
Firefox is currently at 19.02, so it appears your background auto-update has not been occurring, which makes me suspect the machine's data is broken in some manner or you have malware on the machine blocking the updates.
Your problems are multiple, in your case I advise a complete erase and install.
1: If you have a backup of your user data on a external storage drive (not TimeMachine as it might be corrupted and compromised with malware it's just going to restore back) then your good, else you have to do this.
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
Copy your data to a blank plain jane external storage drive as you want no executable files on it when you connect to the cleaned machine later.
2: Once your data is safely copied (copy visible files manually and what you know is good, not folders that can contain invisible malware programs!) then disconnect the drive(s)
3: Next assume all writeable media is contaminated with malware and treat as so. Even if you erased it.
4: Stick in your 10.6 install disk and reboot holding the c or option key down. You want Disk Utility and you want to select the ENTIRE internal drive and MUST USE the Security Option > Zero All Data (unless your in the military then use 7x erase, do not use 35x as it will take weeks and is unnecessary)
The Zero/7x erase will do two things, do a low level format and erradicate everything (including hidden stuff and deleted files) also will map off any failing sectors on the hard drive.
5: Follow the procedure here to install 10.6
How to erase and install Snow Leopard 10.6
6: Reboot the machine twice, then once you set up the machine (using a alias of course and not allowing registration), use a secured network and IMMEDIATLY Software update to 10.6.8, if you can download the 10.6.8 Combo update on another secure machine to a (new) USB thumb drive and install it on the clean Mac, do that instead.
WiFi security issues, at home and WiFi hotspots
    https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Still run Software update afterwards as Apple might not have fully updated the combo update yet.
7: Once you machine is secure, download the free ClamXav and run a scan on the external storage drive with just your files, perhaps one or more PDF's or other files are not what they seem to be.
8: Make sure to install fresh copies of software from original sources and not from rewriteable media, update them to be current. Malware can be hidden in copies of programs.
9: Trash all your rewritable media, or use a Linux PC or Linux Mint in a virtual machine (VirtualBox) on another computer like Windows to scrub and reformat all the rewritable media before attaching them to the clean Mac. You have to make sure it's getting the entire media.
10: Once your machine is set back up, then make clones and time and date them.
    Most commonly used backup methods
If your still having problems with the machine, it's likley a failing hard drive and you will have to replace it and repeat the steps above pretty much.
Really it's best to replace the drive in the interest of security.

Macbook Pro starts up, has a small loading bar, and then shuts off after a few seconds, but the Windows bootcamp partition works fine.
The repair disc option (using install disc) failed, and the computer cannot locate the original Mac side partition. Only Bootcamp appears under options to "restore from backup" or reinstall. The repair disc options says it should be repaired but doesn't seem to know how.

    Bootcamped with Windows.
    Any ideas?

Hold c or option key and boot off the 10.6 installer disk, run DU Repair from there.
run through this list of fixes 1-8
Step by Step to fix your Mac
If it doens't work, you can recover files if you don't have any current OS X file backups, then grab what you can out of Bootcamp
Use Data Rescue installed on the extenral boot drive ($100) to read the bits of the internal (non-filevaulted) drive to retrieve OS X data files if you can't get them off manually via drag and drop methods.
Create a data recovery, undelete boot drive
If you want to clone Windows, use WinClone and another drive. However it's likely compromised, unless it something you did in Windows, like trying to create a new parttition perhaps?
Then perform a Zero Erase and install of 10.6 as shown here (on the entire drive, not only the parittions), this will give a new GUID partition table, EFI and map off bad sectors, totally fresh everything.
How to erase and install Snow Leopard 10.6
You cna use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the new extenral setup to the new scrubbed internal drive. Recreate Bootcamp and WinClone back or fresh install Windows into Bootcamp like before. OR opt to use virtual machine software which is safer.
Windows in BootCamp or Virtual Machine?
Windows 7 can write to the boot drives GUID partition map (unlike XP), this is likely why it's borked now.

  • Website with Loading Bar

    Hello All,
I have a website that I have created in AS3. Right now there is one main splash page before you enter the site (this is index.html). It's a short animation, then you click a button to enter the main website. It takes you to a second HTML page (home.html) where the rest of the website is laid out in flash.
I want to be able to have everything on ONE page, and have a loading bar precede everything. The website itself has a loader in it to display different pictures and text, and I'm worried that the amount of time it takes to load to begin with (the short animation) and to go to the actual site (the bulk of the pictures) is seriously detremental to the flow of the website.
    My questions are essentially these:
How do I put the animation in the same place as the website? Will I require a loader in a loader?
How do I make a loading bar kick the whole thing off?
Thanks for your input. Hopefully this is a simple fix that I have yet to learn. Thanks.

  • Preloader without loading bar

I'm pretty new to this. I've created a flash movie as the
header in a html/css web page. After searching extensively, I'm in
need of the action script code that will allow me to create a
pre-loader that loads just a static jpeg as the rest of the swf
loads. None of the tutorials seem to address what I am looking for.
In short, I do not need "a loading bar, a percentage preloader and
a text field that shows how many bytes of your SWF movie have been
loaded so far and the total file size" just a static jpeg that
    shows until the swf loads.
Nothing I've tried seems to work when I test it.
    Currently I have:
    this.onEnterFrame =function(){
    var total:Number =this.getBytesTotal();
    var loaded:Number = this.getBytesLoaded();
    var percent:Number = Math.round(Number(loaded/total)*100);
    myString.text = percent.toString()+ "%";
    if(loaded >= total)
    this.onEnterFrame = null;
    delete(this.onEnterFrame);
    this.gotoAndPlay("Scene 2", 1);
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

the best tutorial for preloaders is here:
    www.gotoandlearn.com
It includes a percentage and preloader bar. Since you don't
want the preloader bar, just make it without that part of the
instructions. The tutorial video will help you understand the basic
functionality behind it all which will allow to customize.
so ya, just choose the preloader tutorial, theres an advanced
preloader tutorial also, but I haven't looked at that one. You can
also download the source files from the site, but I still recommend
going through it step by step as he explains a lot of stuff.

  • Slide presentation loading bar

    Hello,
Is there a way I can add a loading bar to each slide in a
presentation? I want to create a frontpage component for a web site
using Flash CS3 Slide Presentations. I have several flash movies
that I want loaded into the presentation and then use the
presentation to let the user navigate between these movies (one per
    slide).
Where should I place the preloaders?
    1. Individual movie timelines (these movies are imported to
each slide using the UILoader component)?
    2. Individual slide timelines?
What happens to slide transition effects in each of these
    cases?
    Thanks in advance for helping,

I cannot open or run the later solutions people provided since they're all in 8.6 - too big for my lowly 8.5! Could someone down-convert a few of the later ones please?
Which ones? There were many that were posted. Since you said you are trying to make this compatible with 6.1 you won't be able to use them anyway since LabVIEW 6.1 does not support .NET.
The AxtiveX control references i've found which look(ed) hopeful are from the Microsoft Windows Common Controls 6.0 (SP4) Version 2.0 library. They are the ProgressBar (MSComctlLib.ProgCtrl.2), and the StatusBar (MSComctlLib.SBarCTRL.2). Any ideas for if i was to venture down this road or is this unwise?
The StatusBar is the wrong one to use. That's just what appears at the bottom of the window. Using the ProgressBar is fairly simple. Example.
How could I simulate a progress bar with 256 'segments' (257 sliders)*?
Either that, or is it possible to have a two-colour texture in one
'segment' where one colour at one end fades to the other colour at the
other end? By 'segment', I mean the space between two sliders.
    This
is an attempted work-around for not having much success trying to use
an ActiveX control reference for the windows progress/status bars.
    * I'm not too keen on creating 256 progress bars to replicate my current method for getting a graduated colour fill on the slider!
What is your ultimate goal? To get something that's compatible with 6.1 or to get a graduated color? Or both? The MS ActiveX ProgressBar will not be graduated, but it will work with 6.1. If you use a horizontal slide then you can create a bunch of sliders to get your graduated fill. Depending on how fast it's moving or how wide filled bar is you may not need 256 as the human eye may not be able to perceive a harsh jump in color if it's below the detection threshold.

The use of Safe Boot mode should be ventured into with some familiarity; to
understand a little more about it. There are articles, documents, information...
(Actually, some of your Snow Leopard's slow starting is likely due to it's own
way of trying to negotiate past some issues it finds, in the boot process; so
that is why a +third-party disk utility+ may help, if a 'verify' of the hard drive by
use of your native OS X boot disc's version of Disk Utility can't fix problems.)

There are other levels of access into the system, but without
some background or understanding of Terminal utility and a
grasp or feeling/experience in single-user boot, the methods
used by this process are best for GUI access for this task.
When a user can't get into a computer this way, is where
other methods of access are essential; or better tools and a
good backup clone on external boot-capable hard disk drive.
You can find Console in the utilities folder, by using GO in the
Finder menu bar, and choosing Utilities (folder) to open; then
launch Console. Several kinds of logs are reported here by
the running OS X system; those pertaining to the OS X and
all of the computer's basic running would be first to look into.
There are error logs, system logs, crash logs. See what the
system logs has, especially for date and time of the problem
where the computer takes forever to start. There may be no
log reports at all; if the system won't write them on startup.
A possibility in Directory issues contributing to this slow startup
or some damaged system startup files, exists. So, troubleshooting
may include checking the hard drive with the booted install disc's
version of Disk Utility, to see if it sees an issue, and then if it may
be able to repair the drive's issue. (not a permissions repair.)
This can be problematic, do not actually run the Installer on the
booted (hold C key on start with Install DVD in optical drive) disc
since the options and tools available there are to be found in a
menu bar and that is like a regular application window. When
done, the way to exit Disk Utility, is quit; To exit Installer, you
use the menu bar options to get and use Startup Manager; in
which you can choose to start the Mac from its hard disk drive.
If the Disk Utility can't repair a reported problem, then it may be
something to consider the purchase of a retail third-party disk
utility, such as those named. And they do require some learning
to know what they can do, and how to make them work.
The visit to an Apple genius, may be helpful. To have a complete
backup of your computer, (a clone; see Carbon copy cloner, etc)
you can restore or run/boot the computer from, is recommended.
You should check the computer to be sure it can start up in SafeBoot
and also not have peripherals attached to it, while troubleshooting.

  • Grey screen with loading bar.how can i fix this watch the video below

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRrOc7fmnEw

Ok what is happening is this.
You have corruption in your MacintoshHD partition, OS X is loading partially and runs a at boot fsck drive check/repair on the MacintoshHD partition and it's failing, why you get a stuck loading bar while trying to boot.
You booted into RecoveryHD parttion and are trying to install OS X, however it can't be installed in RecoveryHD, nor Windows/BooCamp. Those partitions are not for OS X or don't have the right format.
If you can't over install OS X over itself into the MacintoshHD parititon, which is properly formatted for it, it means there is corruption there in that partition the sructure is damaged and needs to be erased.
If the MacintoshHD partition does't appear, it's also a serious issue and the entire drive will have to be erased to recreate the MacintoshHD partition.
Good news, your drive appears to work fine. It just needs data recovery and reformatting.
This is what your going to have to do.
1: Boot into RecoveryHD and use Disk Utiltiy and OS X installed onto a blank powered external drive, you then can hold the option/alt key to boot from it.
2: If you need to grab your recent files out of the MacintoshHD partition you can do that or use Data Rescue to try to recover from the corrupted system. Also you can use WinClone 3 to clone the BootCamp partition to another external drive.
3: Once you have your OS X users files and BootCamp cloned off, your ready to erase the ENTIRE drive (disk0) using the 3x security overwrite to map off the bad areas, then format and install OS X  just like you did on the external drive.
4: Holding the option/alt key down while booting gets you Startup Manager, where you can select what you want to boot from, external drives, Windows or MacintoshHD. System Preferences > Startup disk will make it pernament.
You can't boot from the cloned Bootcamp, but you can reverse it back on and then boot from it like before.
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
    Reset your Mac
Make a bootable clone of your boot drive

Not directly from within Flash Catalyst. This is something that you can enhance by using Flash Builder. Here is a good tutorial on creating a custom preloader.

  • How can I create a status bar at the bottom of a window ?

I would like to create a status bar at the bottom of my main window similiar to "Internet explorer" has. I thought of using a tool bar but I can't see how to keep it positioned at the bottom of the window when the window is resizable. Any other ideas on how to do this the bar only needs to contain a small amout of text and maybe an icon or two.

CVI doesn't have a status bar control on UI element like the one available in Visual Studio++. The best way to replicate this is most like through a string control that is resized and positioned to remain at the bottom of the window and colored to look appropriately. I have also seen the combination of a decoration and a text message used.

  • Creating SQL-Loader script for more than one table at a time

    Hi,
I am using OMWB 2.0.2.0.0 with Oracle 8.1.7 and Sybase 11.9.
It looks like I can create SQL-Loader scripts for all the tables
or for one table at a time. If I want to create SQL-Loader
scripts for 5-6 tables, I have to either create script for all
the tables and then delete the unwanted tables or create the
scripts for one table at a time and then merge them.
Is there a simple way to create migration scripts for more than
one but not all tables at a time?
    Thanks,
    Prashant Rane

No there is no multi-select for creating SQL-Loader scripts.
You can either create them separately or create them all and
then discard the one you do not need.

  • Set Maximum size for a subpanel created with splitter bars in LV8

Does anyone know how to set the Maximum size for a subpanel created with asplitter bar? If I show one cluster in the subpanel and use the scroll bar to scroll, I can see more (blank) area than I want. I just want the user to be able to scroll a cluster within a subpanel while the cluster is larger than the view area of the subpanel. I don't want to let the user scroll outside the cluster.

I apologize for the mixup in terminology. Please read Pane wherever the word Subpanel was used.
Please see the attached VI for a description of my problem.
I would really appreciate any help with this.

  • In the new OS Yosemite, why is there a loading bar each time i turn on my mac?

I got the OS Yosemite 2 days ago, and i noticed something new. Each time i turn on my mac, there is a loading bar at the bottom of the screen after i enter my password. It takes like 20 seconds to load, but it can be quite annoying. Anyone else have this problem? ( i have the macbook pro 15 inch, mid 2014 )

Open Security preferences and be sure the option requiring a password is unchecked. Or open Accounts preferences, click lock icon and authenticate, click on Login Options button and configure your account for Auto-login.
