coul anyone plz tell me how to create a logical system in step by step approach.

Start transaction spro.
Select SAP Reference IMG.
Expand the node Define Logical System. Choose Basic Components, Application Link Enabling, Sending and Receiving Systems, Logical Systems

In client 000 go to transaction scc4. There you create your new client for sap netweaver abap trial version for BI?
Here, can you give me steps to create a logical system with client 001 using tcode scc4.

     First log on to SAP R/3 server connections Go to SCC4 in R/3 & in Scc4 BW server. A screen opens in that logical name of the system would be opened in both (R/3 & BW).
     Take notepad in it save .R/3 & BW logical names go to R/3 & click SM59 to create R/3 connections click then a screen opens gives BW logical name in RFC Destination option & give connection. type 3 & give some description & then press enter.
     You will get another screen under it then at target host gives BW server name we will get it from BW logon change ID, IP address option & give the system no. The system no go to logon pad just drag it then you will see the name.
     Then click on log on securities go to log on give BW server details like No, client user Password. Then save it then click test connection tab if there are errors then it gives yellow color if they are no error the whole thing come as white.
     Then click on the Remote Logon then we go to BW server give RFC SM59 & click create. Then give the server name which is at the bottom right corner give it then give the no, name, password in logon Security save it & test connection & then remote logon.
     R/3 - B W - R/3
     Logical connection source system connection is used to transfer the data from R/3 to BW. Go to BW system& click RSA1 go to source system option go to top to the source systems right click on it. Then click create then a screens opens then.
     PC Flat file , DB  Database
     Select the option manual then a screen appears RFC Destination, Logical source name then click OK then it goes to opens other screen save it test connection then remote login then it go back to the then a screen opens then click only activate.
     BW  RS1  SOURCE SYSTEM  CREATE MANUAL AUTOMATIC CELL
     R/3  Test connections login  back  replicate method  active data R/3 Source system you will able to.

From R/3 to CRM create one logical system for CRM client 300.

Suppose i create one logical system for CRM in R/3 TO CRM scenario for client 300.another user wants to work on jdbc to CRM client 300 for this he wants to create another logical system for client 300 it is not possible,so,it is ok if he assign same logical system when he was working for CRM client 300 when he wants to create business system for CRM in JDBC to CRM.

Hi,
Business Systems are te logical system name for a CLient in the SAP.
These can be reused again for different configuration scnario that you must have created for different interface.
All you need to do is assing the Business system to your configuration scenario and Communication channel to the same.

Can't create a logical system

Hi
Just created a system copy and can't create a logical system. I get an errror message change and transport system not configured and then action terminated in transaction BD54. I don't need a transport system.
Can anyone help me with this

What I usually do after a system copy regarding to the transport configuration are:
1. Call SE06. There are some dialog boxes to delete the current transport configuration, answer with 'Yes'. Means delete it.
2. Call STMS and attach the transport to the transport domain or create a new domain. If it is a standalone system, sandbox for example, I create a virtual system and link the transport as DEV - PRD transport system, where PRD is the virtual one. So, the transport requests will be transportable. Otherwise there will not be cofile and data created when a transport request is created. This is not transportable.
3. Call SCC4 and assigned the logical system.
4. Schedule BDLS to run sometime during the night in background.

Need hlep! The issue about creating a logical system!

Hi all,
When I create a new logical system, and T-code is BD54. My user profile is SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW. The system pop-up the Warning message as follow:
You are not allowed to change cross-client customizing.
I have looked it into

Hi Feng, Welcome to SDN.....

SAP_BC_BASIS_ADMIN - Assign this Role to your User name in SU01 and then try creating Logical system, Also check the Client setting in SCC4(such as the client Role, Cross-client object changes...). Hope this Resolves your issue.

How to create a logical system DEVCLNT110 at RSA1?

This logical system is only for this system/client only.
In other words, it is NOT point to any other data source. I want to define DEVCLNT110 at DEV/110.
I know how to do it in SALE or BD54. Now I want to know how to do it at RSA1.

In RSA1 you need to create a new Source System using the logical system name.
And then do source system mapping.

Creating logical systems in EP7

hello,
We have created a logical system that conects to a backend. All portal iviews point to this logical system.
We have to change the properties of the logical system but before do this step we need to proove that works correctly without changing the final users preview.
So we should create a new logical system and duplicate all iviews to point to this new logical system and to prove them.
But We prefer not to duplicate all portal content... Is other way to do this????

SAP* or DDIC being unable to create logical system in SAP PI 7.1

greetings !
I am not a basis person.
I had freshly installed PI 7.1. I was finding that I am being unable to create new logical systems . I tried logging to both clients 000 and 001 using sap* , ddic , and pisuper . pisuper does not even have the authorization to execute SALE . SAP* and DDIC can excecute SALE but unable to create or assign clients.
I reinstalled my system from scratch thinking i must have errored on something, as creating clients is a very simple task. but even the new PI 7.1 gives me the same problem.
is something wrong with my installation , or there are additional roles/authrizations I need to assign to a user.

Besides PISUPER other users are also created some of the are PIAFUSER, PIDIRUSER, PIRWBUSER etc. Every user has a specific purpose in a PI system. For activities like creating logical system etc. own id's should be used.
There are couple of guides out there which explains in detail the purpose of all the users in PI system.

Creating and assigning logical systems foe connecting BW to R/3

Hello ABAP Pundits,
I have to connect R/3 (sender) to BW (reciever). So I guess, I need to create logical systems in both BW and R/3.
So does this mean that I have to create two logical systems on R/3 and two logical systems on B/W ?
Do I need to do assignement of these newly created logical systems on both R/3 and BW separately ?
Pleae elaborate...

ERROR- "Creating Logical system through BD54"

I need to create a new client as a copy of an existing client. Before that I need to create a Logical System through DB54. But when I am executing the T-Code BD54 the system gives an information popup saying u201CChanges to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permittedu201D and there is no new entry tab in BD54. What can be the solution?

Now when i am clicking on start immediately/schedule as backgroung job the following error appears. I have created the RFC also and its working properly. 600 is the newly created client.
RFC destination for client copy in systems with Financials Basis
(FINBASIS) component.
The system could not find any suitable RFC destination for processing
for client 001.
This note also appears if an RFC destination was found but this does not
work.

The partner profile to be maintained in we20 (in backend systems -ECC/CRM etc) should be based on logical system for the sender.
For ex: Src (File) -> PI -> Tgt(ECC)
In SLD you have created Technical System(TS) and Business System(say BS) for Src. Also a Logical System name (Say LSNAME) is associated with BS.
In ECC, goto tcode - sale, create a logical system of name LSNAME. Now goto we20 and create a partner profile of name LSNAME. Provide the message type of Idoc in the required place.

I installed the BW in the system.but i cont login the BW system.Its shows error message'system ecc client 001 as no logical name.Naming takes place through assaignment to a logical system you must have to create another logical system before you can do this to continue,now assaign the logical system to this system and client'.Please tell me the answer asap.

Take help of basis team to create logical system and assigning also you can check in sm59 your system is working or not.

Error-logical system not created in client 001

Hi Experts,
When I was trying to delete the application from Administration Client its giving me the error "Logical system not found on client 001"
I created the Logical system in 001 but still same problem...
Did I do anything wrong during the installtion??
Can anyone please help me

Logical Systems in Business Services

Hi
In Business Service creation, for Adapter Specific Identifiers, the parameter for the Logical System. It is only possible to assign one logical system to one Business Service ?.
i.e. to do
MyBusServ1, Z_LS_1
MyBusServ2, Z_LS_1
is not possible ?
When trying to assign Z_LS_1 to MyBusServ2 I get the error that Z_LS_1 is already assigned. Is there a way to circumvent ?, I do not want to create two logical systems in R/3 as the IDOCS types submitted by the Business Services are the same.

Sarvesh - The Business service is the sender of the information \ IDOC. If I remove the Adapter specific config then how will XI know what Logical system to apply to the IDOC ?.
Jaishankar - I am creating two IDOC's in SAP. MATMAS and PORDCR. The input file are coming from two different source systems. lets say sys1 and sys2. Both of thse for clarity are created in my scenario as Business Services. sys 1 creates MATMAS and PORDCR IDOC's int he syatem, sys2 creates PORDCR IDOC's in the system. As sys1 and sys2 are related in that they created the IDOC's as part od the same project then I would like to collect in the same partner profile in SAP e.g. Partner Profile ZPP_IDOC with IDOC types MATMAS PORDCR that serve as input for both systems. Logically I would assume that I can assing the logical system ZPP_IDOC to both the adapter specific parameter in both sys1 and sys2.

I have a SQL server which is defined as a Business system in my landscape. It is sending records to ECC 6.0 which makes it a JDBC to IDOC scenario (inbound IDocs)
First question is do I have to mention a logical system name for the SQL server Business system too ?
Second question is do I create a Logical system in the ECC system (BD54/SALE) for the SQL system or would it be for the client of the ECC system itslef?
Third question is do I maintain partner profile configurations in WE20 for the SQL business system or for the ECC business system?

Yes, In SLD You have to specify logical system name of the SQL server business system while creating SQL system.After importing business system into Integration directory,in Adepter-Specific Identifiers you can see logical system name of SQL server business sytem which you defined in SLD.

Yes,You have to create Logical system in ECC system for SQL system(Logical system name must be with the same name as logical system name you have given in XI SLD in previous question)

In WE20 You have to maintain partner profiles for SQL server Logical system
For example: If SQL server Business system name is SQLDEVBS and logical system name is SQLDEVLS
In ECC you have to create logical system as SQLDEVLS and
Partner profiles for SQLDEVLS in WE20.
