Creating a multipage pdf in photoshop CS4

I've just upgraded from CS1 to CS4, and previously you could create a multipage PDF easily under the File>Automate menu. So how do you do that in CS4? The feature has been moved somewhere. I dont want two seperate A4's I want to learn how to create one document consisting of 2 pages.
Thanks
AC

I most certainly would like to see the output to multi-page pdf feature re-included back into the file menu. For generic brochure type jobs, through to concept art presentations, and (Game) design documents, I really appreciated having that feature. It worked. Smooth.
Bridge on the other hand, is shovelware. It lasts 3-4 seconds before locking up indefinately, and its a product of Adobe's ability to make fancy applications that dont really do anything useful, its NOT my workflow, and nor do I want it to be. I don't see the point in starting up another application, to do something that was always done well, from 2 maybe 3 clicks in the file menu.
I really dont expect to swallow the cost of upgrades to find that I've had essential tools removed, and substituted for the joke that is "Bridge".
Isn't this obvious? If its not broken don't fix it.

  • How to edit a PDF in Photoshop CS4

    Hi there,
I'm having some real trouble trying to figure out how to edit a PDF in photoshop cs4. So i need to edit/change text, move things around, that type of thing.
    I work in Windows.
Could someone give me a bit a low down on how this is done?
    Much appreciated,
    Victoria

You can open them but you will totally rasterize everything.
PDFs are not intended to be edited. They are a final format but as
mentioned you can use Acrobat for some minor text edits or use it to
extract the images to Photoshop for further editing.

  • Creating a .pdf in photoshop cs4 different than earlier versions

    Hi. In PS CS4.
I am trying to make a .pdf to send to a printer. I do not know if the printer as CS4. Eventually I will ask, but..
I made a pdf in Photoshop, basically using the High Quality print settings.
Normally, when I open a pdf in Photoshop that was made in Photoshop I am able to see the layers, adjustment layers..etc..
I tried opening this .pdf in Photoshop 7.0 & it had asked me to rasterize it with that dialog screen, although I did have Preserve Photoshop Editing Capabilities checked. I am not sure why it did that.
What do you do for people that have earlier versions?
    Thank you.

not much you can do about it, the Preserve Photoshop Editing Capabilities only works when opening it in Photoshop CS2 or newer

  • Multipage PDF back for CS4?

    Hi guys,
I know that I should be asking this in the Photoshop forum, but you guys are so much nicer and knowledgeable.
I downloaded the optional plugin zip from Adobe, but it does not include PDF presentation. In our workflow, we open a card template (PSD) and populate it with the clients images and text. These are double sided/creased cards, so in the past we would simply choose automate/pdf presentation and choose multipage pdf and be done.
With CS4, we have to save the files to our desktop, then open bridge, select the files, click on output and change the settings to create the pdf.
As nice as the new output module in bridge is, we work in a production environment and this is really slowing us down.
I know that we could just keep using CS3 for these tasks, but I would love to find a solution in CS4.
    Any suggestions? thanks

Are you still on an earlier version? From what I have seen, simple contact sheets still can be made in bridge.
The only difference I see is the sheet is saved as pdf, instead of jpg or other raster type.
As a pdf it can be printed from any program that can load a pdf, which is what you would do with a jpg anyway. The benefit though is the pdf is totally editable in illustrator.
BTW, I am using CS5... OH also it will do multipage pdf's
Edit: Playing with it a bit, I did find a major drawback. It does not do a picture package.

  • Multipage pdf in photoshop cs5

    Hi out there!
I've upgraded from PS CS2 to CS5 - now I'm missing the option to compile multipaged pdf out from PS. I know for sure that bridge will compile psd's to one single pdf but bridge seems not to embed fonts used in a psd. And yes, I know that PS is imaging software and not a layout program. But why is that feature from CS2 replaced that ugly way in CS5? Thx for your replies!

Yes, the latest versions of Photoshop have less than desired PDF capabilities.
Depending on what you need done, Bridge may be an alternative. I've never had trouble with Bridge not embedding fonts and as a check I just created a psd document with 7 fonts and the pdf of that file ( via Bridge CS4) looks just fine. I also just used Bridge to create a multi-page pdf document from several psd files, with each psd file having numerous different fonts, and all was fine. Maybe you have a font management issue on your system.

  • Create multi-page PDF with photoshop CS3

    Hi,
I have created 8 A4-sized PSD documents in Photoshop CS3 and I would like to create a single PDF document with 8 pages.
Is there an easy way to do this?
I would really appreciate any help that people can offer, as I am stumped!
    Thank you in advance,

    FILE> Automate PDF presentation
add open files or point it to your folder of files
after you hit save will be a dialog box to choose options
make sure to make the proper selections for quality, based on your purpose
a PDF made for commercial printing will be large
If you want to put it on internet or email you need to select the setttings
    for web based doc
OR you could open acrobat and create a multipage document
I think the default is 8.5x11
(not sure) but if you have unusual size paper
make sure to change the page layout to that

  • Creating a transparent GIF in Photoshop CS4

I am new to Photoshop CS4 and I'm finding it a bit of a 'challenge'.
I would like to create a transparent GIF of my signature, so that I can put it into various documents.
My signature is on a white background and is written using a blue ball point pen and is scanned in as a colored GIF file.
Despite having Googled how to do that I am completely stumped.  They talk about using the lasso tool to draw around my signature (which I do) and then they say press the delete key.  Well, on my iMac NOTHING happens!
Can anyone offer me a simple tutorial (for the Mac) that can walk me through creating a transparent GIF file of my signature?
    Thanks,
    Peter

Load luminance or the channel with the best contrast by command-clicking the appropriate channel in the Channels Panel
It seems hard to make it more clear …
Command-click (hold the command-key pressed while clicking) the composite Channel’s icon (or any of the other channels’ if you should deem them preferable) in the Channels Panel.
    This should load a Selection.
I would like to create a transparent GIF of my signature, so that I can put it into various documents.
Where do you want to do that anyway (Photoshop, some layout-software, a browser …)?
Because depending on that using a file-format of fairly limited features like gif could seem inadvisable.
the problem I have with Photoshop CS4 is that when I enter the help system it goes to the web and give me help for Photoshop CS5!!!!
You should be able to download the Help as a pdf here:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408379.html
If psd doen’t mean anything to you you should look it up.

  • Creating a multipage PDF that prints 2 booklets side by side?

Hi I am a designer with NO pre-press experience and I need some help!
I am trying to print a booklet that is set at 8.5 x 7 as a 2 up document on 8.5 x14 paper. My problem is that I don't want the booklets to print consecutive pages (right now they would print 1,2 3,4 5,6 etc.) I want them to print side by side so that when the sheets are cut we would have 2 completed and collated books.
I know that I could just duplicate each page and print that, but I am wondering if there is a quicker way to make this happen? We have over 100 different multipage PDFs to print so I'm looking for a lean way to get this done.
Is this possible? Do I need to purchase pagination software?

When I need to do this I generally make a file set up as a single page (8.5 x 7, in this case) for easy design, then create a second, non-facing doc at two-up size (8.5 x 14) and place the pages from the first file int the second tow times so I have two copies per page. I use the Multi-page importer script for this: InDesignSecrets » Blog Archive » Zanelli Releases MultiPageImporter for Importing both PDF and INDD Files

  • Incorrectly coloured text when saving to .PDF using Photoshop CS4

I am using Photoshop CS4 on Windows 7, and have designed my own business card.
When saving to .PDF to send to printers I am finding that a small section of text is saving with a white section to it, for example out of the 3 lines of text on the card the bottom left hand corner of the & sign I have in the design is coming out white, the rest of the text is a golden colour.
I have tried searching on this forum and on google but can't seem to find anyone with my actual problem so unsure where to go.
    Any help much appreciated.

Question 2. OR, since I cannot do that, how do I move an image from a

  • How to create a multipage PDF with same template but dynamically varying data?

    Hello,
I need to create a multi-page PDF where I need to use the same template but dynamically varying data.
    Eg Scenario:
    1. I have data for 5 material in my ABAP program.
    2. I have a PDF template in SFP which has a 2 page structure.
    3. Based on the number of materials (5 in this case), I need to generate a PDF which will have 10 pages (2 for each material).
    4. the generated PDF should be like the one shown below:
    e.g.  MATERIAL_PDF (pdf name)
          |  Page1(Mat1[View1].data)
          |  Page2(Mat1[View2].data)
          |  Page3(Mat2[View1].data)
          |  Page4(Mat2[View2].data)
          |  Page5(Mat3[View1].data)
          |  Page6(Mat3[View2].data)
             .. and so on...
    Thanks,
    Aniket

Isn't it just by setting the two pages into a form ( like an subform in the content ) and put the settings in a proper way?
There is this setting, that the masterpage comes up everytime the pagecount is done.
    Example
    Page 1 3 5 --> Masterpage 1
    Page 2 4 6 --> Masterpage 2
And the designview with the flowing data, you can do it by scripting to get to the next page after the pos is finished.
Unfortunaly I do not got a system atm, so I hope the explaination give you a clue, where to search.

  • Create an exploded graphic in Photoshop CS4?

    Hi,
I am a new photoshop user...  I have a small image that I'd like to add a "tail" to and then add on to another graphic.  The smaller graphic is actually a screenshot of a section of the larger image.  My goal is make it into an exploded view of the larger..  Currently I've added a shawdow to it.  Is their an easy way to dress up the smaller image in Photoshop or should I stick with simple effect, such as a shadow?

Actually, I should probably have described my ask, as creating a magnified view...
I found a procedure on how to do this in Photoshop and used... And have ultimately decided that I am getting better results in using a combo of PowerPoint and Snagit...
    Thanks for responding!

What magic wand do I need to take 3 JPEGS and put them into a Preview document and save it as a single PDF with 3 pages? This used to be real easy in Preview but now I don't have a clue how to do it.

    From Preview Help:
Move a page from one PDF document to another
    Open both PDF documents.
For each document window, click the Thumbnails or Contact Sheet button, in the View control in the toolbar.
Drag each page’s thumbnail image from its original document to the other document.A rectangle encloses the other document’s thumbnails when you drag over them. If you don’t see a rectangle, the pages won’t be included in the PDF file, but they do appear in the other document’s window.
The page remains in the original document and is copied to the other document.
I didn't try the procedure, so I hope it works for you.
