Creating a new domain tree under the forest

Hi
I have one primary domain and one additional domain at moment so I want to create a new domain tree under the forest however during the configuration it gives me the below message ?
the last time I installed without tick marking "Create DNS Delegation" option I had a lot of issue in replication and in DNS between my forest domain and this new tree domain.
my main question would be:
1- how to resolve this ?
2- how to create a manual DNS delegation in Parent zone.?
please suggest ?

Hi greeMann,
This is an expected behaviour and it can be ignored.  The error message occurs because this is the first DNS server so there is not a DNS server available to create the delegation from.
If you are not concerned that people in other domains or on the Internet will not resolve DNS name queries for computer names in the local domain, you can disregard the message and click Yes.

  • Creating new Domain by Copying the existing domain

    Hi,
Is there any way to create a new domain by copying the already existing domain directory and pasting it to another directory in same machine or different machine.
Can anyone suggest me the configuration file that needs to be updated for new domain name.
    Thanks

When you mention "Before posting on forum I have tried this option. I tried again but no luck." do you mean you tried pack/unpack or template approach and this did not work. Or did you just copied domain folder and renamed and start the new domain and you got errors. Copying domain may not work 100% (not in the long run). But pack/unpack or template approach should work pretty much without any errors.
As mentioned, I would recommend template approach or pack/unpack. You can provide the internal details and risk factors involved with hard disk copy of domain folder and renaming approach to the client. If domain copy approach works, then bea/oracle would not have come up with approaches like pack/unpack or template approach at all in the very first place. Copying domain folder and renaming may still work, unless you do all regression testing that includes cluster scenario also and all usecases.
I would still recommend for pack/unpack or template approach to copy any existing domains.
Just incase if your domain is like Portal Domain and if you deploy portal applications on this domain, then copying domain will just not work. Every domain is very tightly coupled with ldap files and db tables for any Security Visitor Entitlements and Delegated Admin roles. If its pure weblogic server application, these things will not come into picture. But for Portal, we do have something called Propagation Tool to migrate portal app from one domain to other domain. But still the domain cannot be copied and renamed.

  • Adding new domain controller under tree domain

i have one forest root domain is ABC.com and one tree root domain under this forest is DEF.com ,
i want to add a new domain controller under tree root domain in windows server 2008 r2? i need steps and DNS configuration on forest or domain level
    Thnx

If you want to add an additional domain controller to a domain you should promote the new dc with the primary dns in the nic settings of the new dc pointing at the current dc and once promoted you should point the original ip address nic settings to
the new dc.  I am making the assumption that you are using AD integrated DNS.

  • How to Create one more SOA-INFRA under the same domain in weblogic server

    Hi All,
Can anybody can guide how to create one more soa-infra under the same domain. In order to maintain my composites to be deployed into
different domains, I need to create one more soa-infra and deployed all the composites under that one.
Please let me know if any demo is available for this activity to be gets completed.

    Hi Vijay,
There are several composites which needs to be deployed and maintained in the server. So, we I'm trying to maintian
by deploying composites into 3 different SOA-INFRA's so if one is not accessible, we can look into it and others can access the
composites from another SOA-INFRA instead of creating domains.
Let me know what will be feasible way to perform this activity.

I created a new apple id because the previous one no longer exists as an email (domain had to be cancelled). I keep seeing the old one pop up in my iPhone for which I don't remember the password. How can I get rid of it??? Or how can I reset the password if the email doesn't exist??? I also tried answering a question (my date of birth) but it says it's wrong.
I'm really frustrated with the apple id!!!
    Frustrated!!!

In one of the help pages for managing your Apple ID (http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40), it shows two separate sections, one for Apple ID and one for Primary Email address. When I go to manage my Apple ID, I see only a single section for both. Can the two be 'separated', especially when you face the situation of having to discontinue your email address for some reason?
I also noticed that when navigating to Apple ID Support Communities, it shows my nickname 'dishdy'. How and when did I insert this? In the current sequence for creating an Apple ID I don't see this. In my current profile I don't see this.
In any case, I have freed myself from my previous Apple ID (@artemis.it) on my iPhone.
    Thanks for your help.

  • How can I edit my website from another computer? and how can I create a new website next to the one, I have already? Can anyone help, please?

How can I edit my website from another computer? and how can I create a new website next to the one, I already have? Can anyone help, please?

Move the domain.sites file from one computer to the other.
The file is located under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.  Move this file to the same location on the other computer and double click and iWeb will open it.  Remember, it is your User Library that you want and not your System Library, as you will not find iWeb there.
Just create a new site on the same domain file and it will appear below the other site.  If you want them side by side then duplicate your domain file and have one site per a domain file and they can then be side by side.

  • How do i create a new domain?

Is there an easy way to create new domains for WL Server 6.0? There
doesn't seem to be any tool that allows me to do this. Does that mean

Here are a couple of points to pay attention to in addition to the doc
    pointed by Kumar:
    1. you MUST copy fileRealm.properties initially when you create a new domain
in the domain subdirectory under config in bea.home.
    2. Initial password for the starting servers ( admin or managed) will be
same as default system password ( system password for the domain from where
the SerializedSystemIni.dat and fileRealm.propeerties were copied. You can
start the new domain's admin server and change the syetm password. Next time
you will start admin server or managed server in new domain, you will be
    using the new password.
    3. If you change the system password through console, and you were using
password.ini, you must change the password in password.ini file also. If you
specified the password in startup script, you must manually change it to new
password. If you were not specifying the password in password.ini or in the
startup script as -D property, then as always, you will be prompted for
password, and you can specify the new password.

    Hi ,
I have to create a new domain in BPEL PM . We r using BEPL PM 10.1.34 over weblogic 9.2 .
I do not want to experiment in the server environment , so i would require some documentation to guide me.
Please give me the link to the docuementation to create a new domain.
    Thanks,

I assume you are not talking a WSL domain, you are talking about a BPEL domain.

  • Create  a new domain in wlserver6.1

    Hi,
I have weblogic 6.1 installed on my pc. i have created couple of ejbs and i run them
from the mydomain domain they work fine.
i want to create a new domain and make it up and running. i have got a documentation
from bea which says details for create a domain using the gui/admin console.
i tried that it creates a domain and adds a directory in the config directory of
bea/wlserver6.1. but when i try to run the domain alone it doesnt work.
can anyone give me some documentation for creating a new domain
    thanks in advance
    regards
    kamal

Make your domain and server names different - currently they are both
named 'kamal' and WLS doesn't like it. Error message is a bit cryptic.

  • Creating a new domain using WLST

    Hi,
I am trying to write a WLST script to create a new domain without using an existing template. (Similar to the first option of "Generate a domain configured automatically to support the following BEA products" option when using the domain configuration wizrd). I found the createDomain command but am not able to see an option to create a domain without using a template. Does anyone know if I can create a domain without using a template? Here is the command and its syntax.
    createDomain(domainTemplate, domainDir, user, password)
Can I skip the domainTemplate section to create a new domain without basing it on an existing one?
    Thanks.

You might be able to use configToScript but you would have to be connected.

  • Cannot create a new domain in WSL70

    Hi,
I have follow the procedure of create a new domain from the guide, but I cannot find
the the input field "Crete a new Domain in this repository"
    Pls see attachment
    [Microsoft Word - WLS70.pdf]

Make your domain and server names different - currently they are both
named 'kamal' and WLS doesn't like it. Error message is a bit cryptic.

  • How to create a new virtual host under tomcat 4.1.x?

    hi all
i need some help creating a new virtual host under tomcat 4.1.18!
    that's what i do:
i'm using the web configuration, reacheable by typing "http://localhost:8080" and then clickign administration
    i create a new host
    name: www.class-site.it
    application base: webapps\class-site
    then i create the context:
    document base: webapps\class-site
    path: /
    and nothing works!!!
    anyone could help me?
if needed i can also post the server.xml file
thanx in advance for your help
    sandro

    It should look like this
    <Host name="myvhost.com" debug="0" appbase="/my/path/to/webapps" unpackWars="true">
    <Context path ="" docBase="ROOT" debug="0"/>
    </Host>
This should be inside the <Engine> tags. You should be able to access a page by going to
    http://myvhost.com:8080/index.jsp
Obviously you need index.jsp in /my/path/to/webapps/ROOT/index.jsp
    Hope that helps

  • Exchange server-Removing a Domain Controller from the forest

    Hi Guys,
I need some help on removing a faulty domain controller from the AD forest. Here is the scenario:
    1. The FSMO roles have been seized to a new domain controller already.
    2. The old one is non-functional and is down for ever.
I know the steps would be doing a meta-data cleanup And then remove some of the DNS entries related to the old server. But the real issue is:
    > I have Exchange 2013 running in one of the machines configured in the Forest, which was migrated from the old Domain controller. I then set Exchange listening to the new domain controller.
So, my doubt is, if I delete the old domain controller and do a metadata cleanup, would it have any effect on the exchange server? The Exchange machine acts as an additional domain controller as well. Its a production environment and any
change that affects Exchange would cause a big loss. Looking forward for your valuable suggestions..
    Regards,
    Nash

    Hi Ed,
I don't have issues with the AD on the Exchange server. Eventhough it is configured as an AD, Exchange is pointed to the main working domain controller, which is a different machine. I just want to remove the traces of an old domain controller from which
I transferred the FSMO roles to the new domain controller. The old  domain controller is completely down and hence I can't do a conventional 'dcpromo' on it. So just planning to do a 'metadata clean up' for removing the non-working DC from the forest.
So, In essence, I just want to know that, if I do a metadata cleanup, would it affect the Exchange server in any way?
    Regards,
    Nash
