Creating a New Virtual CU in iw32

Hello,
When I try to create a new Virtual CU (VCU) in IW32 the characteristic fields are already populated with the characteristics of the previously created VCU.
But when I save the VCU the characteristics aren't saved with it so when I went back into the order I got errors relating to the characterstics.
This is only happening occassionally.
Does anyone know where this is happening? I've tried debugging and checked the IWO10012 enhancement.
Any suggestions?

This is definitely becase of exits or BADI's which implemented some functionality to update VCU in IW32.
I hope some code may not be cleared in exit: IWO10012 or in BADI: IWO_UI_USEFLEX.
For time being you can deactivate these two enhancements and try again. Good luck.
Best Regards,
Dara.

    hi all
i need some help creating a new virtual host under tomcat 4.1.18!
    that's what i do:
i'm using the web configuration, reacheable by typing "http://localhost:8080" and then clickign administration
    i create a new host
    name: www.class-site.it
    application base: webapps\class-site
    then i create the context:
    document base: webapps\class-site
    path: /
    and nothing works!!!
    anyone could help me?
if needed i can also post the server.xml file
thanx in advance for your help
    sandro

    It should look like this
    <Host name="myvhost.com" debug="0" appbase="/my/path/to/webapps" unpackWars="true">
    <Context path ="" docBase="ROOT" debug="0"/>
    </Host>
This should be inside the <Engine> tags. You should be able to access a page by going to
    http://myvhost.com:8080/index.jsp
Obviously you need index.jsp in /my/path/to/webapps/ROOT/index.jsp

  • Error when creating a new Virtual Machine from VMs and Templates

I try to created a VM from a Template. On a Step 1.5 (Install VM components) and falid. This is a error:
    Error (10659)
Cannot run Sysprep on virtual machine SRV2k8test because the template does not have a virtual hard disk attached that has been generalized.
    Recommended Action
Specify a template that has been generalized and then try the operation again.
    we expect your help.

Sorry to dredge up an old topic - but got some really weird behavior.
I knew that I had to sysprep the vhdx's before bringing them into a template. I've done this (verified twice), and I still end up with the error list at the top of the thread:
    Error (10659)
Cannot run Sysprep on virtual machine SRV2k8test because the template does not have a virtual hard disk attached that has been generalized.
    Recommended Action
Specify a template that has been generalized and then try the operation again.
    we expect your help.
I am running SCVMM 2012 R2, and things were actually running smooth as of three days ago. Templates built before then are still working and can be deployed with no problem.
However, building a new template today gives the above error when testing the deployment.

Since Ubuntu is not officially supported for /on Oracle VM, I'm afraid you're kinda stuck on your own...
But why not use one of the freely available Oracle Enterprise Linux-distro's or even one of the host-templates made by Oracle? These work for me, incl. the Oracle 11g-database.

  • Cannot create new virtual network adapter on logical switch team

I am currently moving from Hyper-V 2012 to Hyper-V 2012 R2 and in turn I have just installed SCVMM 2012 R2. I am using SCVMM 2012 R2 to create some NIC teams which I have done no problem in the past with SCVMM 2012 SP1. Now we have everything set up just
like we did in the past and it seems to create the NIC team just fine. The problem is when I try to create a New Virtual Network Adapter, when I click the button, it immediately says:
VMM cannot create the virtual network adapter. Either there are no VM networks associated with the network sites that the uplink port profile "Logical Network Name" Connects to, or the VM networks associated with those network sites all use Hyper-V
    network virtualization.
Now I've checked and the VM Network is assigned to the logical network that is associated with the Network Site that contains the host I'm working with. I've also tried disabling Hyper-V network virtualization but that didn't change anything and I thought
that it's always enabled on 2012 R2 anyway.
I would like to gain network connectivity to this team at least for testing purposes and we also are planning on building a Hyper-V cluster. Were some new restrictions added in 2012 R2 to prevent creating virtual network adapters in this scenario or am I
    doing something wrong?
Any information would be helpful. Thank you in advance for your time!

    Hi Sir,
Glad to hear that the problem has been solved , thanks for your sharing .

  • Hyper V: No Option to Create New Virtual Machine

After selecting my local computer as the virtualization server, there is no option to create a new virtual machine. When I right-click on my server, I only get "Remove Server", "View>", and "Help"
in the drop-down menu. According to the tutorials that I've watched, this is where "New>Virtual Machine..." should appear. What am I doing wrong?
    My machine:
    Win 8.1 Pro, 64-bit
    Intel Core i5-3470
    RAM 8192
    Graphics: GTX 660

You need to enable Virtualization under CPU / Advance settings in your BIOS.  Your motherboard must support hardware virtualization in order for this feature to be available in the BIOS. If you don't see this option then, your hardware (motherboard)
    is not compatible nor support.

    Dear All,
I've two audio devices and I would create a virtual audio device with the input channels of both of them. I'v read that it's very simple. But when I click on the "+" button in the "Audio/Midi Configuration" application I'm not able to create a new virtual device. Both of real devices work perfectly.
My account is a system administrator.
    Help me, please!

Great! It was hard, but now all work fine!
    I removed these two files:

I am attempting to move a current vm in one virtual network to a new virtual network. I am at the step in the process where I will create a new virtual machine with the disks of the deleted VM from the original virtual network. I am unable to choose the
new virtual network name under Choose Affinity Group or Virtual Network. It is not listed.....Any advice???? I am able to see the virtual network lsited on the portal under Virtual networks

    Hey,
Did you follow all the processes in moving to a different Network?
Here are two links to aid you:
    1. You can do it via GUI:

  • Hyper-V 2012 R2 creating a new vhdx and copying from a source vhdx will physical file size reduce?

    Hi,
    I'm running Hyper-V 2012 R2 as part of Server 2012 Essentials.
As seems common from other threads I've read I have created an expanding VHDX with a maximum size too large (almost the same size as the physical disc it lives on). Although there is only around 350GB of data in the VHDX, the actual file size is approaching
    900GB on the host.
I'm using the "Add New Virtual Disk" wizard to make a new VHDX to replace this massive file. I want the contents of the old VHDX to be copied to the new one so in the add disk wizard I selected the option to copy the contents of my new disk from
    the original.
So my question is: the source VHDX is 900GB, the data inside the is around 350GB. What size is my new VHDX likely to be? Is it likely to reduce to nearer the actual data size?
I'm asking because I'm currently running this operation to an external USB drive and it's painfully slow - going to take hours to complete. If the size isn't going to reduce I may as well cancel it and look for a better option.
    Any comments appreciated.
    David

I am assuming that you are using dynamic virtual disks for your VHDX (they can be dynamic or fixed).
And, it is usually some type of transaction, backup agent, of the like that causes this type of behavior.  Some action that requires a cache on disk that is later deleted.
There is a shrink action that can be done, but that will not optimize fully.
The way to fully optimize is to mount the old virtual disk and create a new virtual disk and mount it, and then copy the contents from one to the other.  This lays the files out in a nice orderly way, without anything being written to the end of the
virtual disk causing it to expand strangely.
Over time, if you are still using the backup agent (for example) that got you into this situation, you will be there again.

  • Is it possible to create a new VM network on Ethernet adapter eth0 ?

    Hello,
I am installing a VM environment with 1 VM Manager and 2 VM Servers (version 3.2.2).
All three computers have only one Ethernet port, namely "eth0".
Since there is no "eth1" in all computers, there is no "Available Port" in the wizard when creating a new virtual machine network.
Therefore, I am not able to create a virtual machine because I cannot create a virtual machine network.
My question is: can I create a new virtual machine network on "eth0" ?
I know eth0 is reserved for management network, but is there a way to create additional networks on the same Ethernet adapter "eth0" even if it is already used?
Thanks for your response in advance.

    Hi,
In your case, you can use the same bond0/eth0 to group all the five networks (Management, Virtual Machine, Storage, HeartBeat, Live Migration)
    So,
    Select the Networking tab.
    Edit
Network Channels: Select ALL network functions:
              • Server Management
              • Live Migrate
              • Cluster Heartbeat
              • Virtual Machine
              • Storage
Then create your MAC Adress, and enjoy your self
I hope this can help you

  • (Solved) Issue with 2012 & 2012 r2...Creating New Virtual Desktop Collections Fails

Hi all, thought I would share a fix I found out after hours of pulling my hair out.
If you get the following error when creating a new RD Collect: "The virtual desktop must be in a stopped state: Could not identify the state of the virtual desktop. Ensure that the RD virtualization host server is available on the network and
the virtual desktop is shut down"
ENSURE your RD Connection Broker and RD Virtualization Host are both either 2012 or 2012 r2.  I was unable to create new VD Collections until I moved my Connection Broker from a 2012 box, to a 2012 r2 box. (My RD Virt Host is 2012 r2.) Once I did that,
    everything worked fine.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your good sharing.
I think it will help the people who have the same issue.
    Have a nice day.

  • New Virtual hard disk wizard hangs after creating new vhd from huper-v manager on windows 7

New Virtual hard disk wizard hangs after creating new vhd from huper-v manager on windows 7 workstation.
Windows 2008r2 hosts the hyper-v server. I can create VMs and VHD's when connecting to the server locally with the hyper-v manager.
The issue arises when I try to connect to the hyper-v server from my workstation which runs windows 7.
I have installed  The Windows6.1-KB958830-x64-RefreshPkg.msu that was suggested for windows 7 sp1.
I can connect to the hyper-v server, create vm's but  I cannot create vhd's  the gui just hangs with no errors in event log or on screen.
The files are there on the hyper-v hard drive but i suspect they are just created by windows as they are written and are not valid.

I've had just the same solution. Both did Hang Fixed size and flexible.
    Two parts were taken:
1 - KB939820 for Windows 2003 server based domain controllers
2 - disable using IPv6 on your NIC
Result - both types of VHD's are created normaly.
    -----Infrastructure----
Windows 2003 Domain upgtraded to 2008R2
    Windows Server 2008R2 Hyper-V - virtualisation clustered
    Windows 7 Pro - Hyper-V management

  • Create a new web application, how shall I update the file server.xml

    - <server-root>/newApp/WEB-INF
    - <server-root>/newApp/WEB-INF/classes

<!-- PersistentManager: Uncomment the section below to test Persistent
    Sessions.
saveOnRestart: If true, all active sessions will be saved
to the Store when Catalina is shutdown, regardless of
other settings. All Sessions found in the Store will be
loaded on startup. Sessions past their expiration are
    ignored in both cases.
maxActiveSessions: If 0 or greater, having too many active
sessions will result in some being swapped out. minIdleSwap
limits this. -1 or 0 means unlimited sessions are allowed.
If it is not possible to swap sessions new sessions will
    be rejected.
This avoids thrashing when the site is highly active.
minIdleSwap: Sessions must be idle for at least this long
(in seconds) before they will be swapped out due to
    activity.
0 means sessions will almost always be swapped out after
use - this will be noticeably slow for your users.
maxIdleSwap: Sessions will be swapped out if idle for this
long (in seconds). If minIdleSwap is higher, then it will
override this. This isn't exact: it is checked periodically.
-1 means sessions won't be swapped out for this reason,
although they may be swapped out for maxActiveSessions.
If set to >= 0, guarantees that all sessions found in the
Store will be loaded on startup.
maxIdleBackup: Sessions will be backed up (saved to the Store,
but left in active memory) if idle for this long (in seconds),
and all sessions found in the Store will be loaded on startup.
If set to -1 sessions will not be backed up, 0 means they
should be backed up shortly after being used.
To clear sessions from the Store, set maxActiveSessions, maxIdleSwap,
and minIdleBackup all to -1, saveOnRestart to false, then restart
    Catalina.

To use servlets u have indeed to update your web.xml...Well I'm not sure this is relevant to your case anyway.
You have to add a <servlet> element to this file.
    Something like this:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>blabla</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>blablapackage.Blablaclass</servlet-class>
    <init-param>...</init-param>
    </servlet>
Now this may not solve your problem. Make sure you refer to your servlets using their full qualified names.btw, just to be sure, what is your definition of "servlet"? (i mean: any java class or only javax.servlet.Servlet)
