Creating a page (a) small size (b) no browser toolbar

This question is very elementary but I just want to get on
with my project, not do a major self-education exercise!
I want to create what I call a "definition window." That is,
when a site user clicks a link to. for example, get a definition of
a word, a small window pops up, big enough for a definition, and
with no controls at all except to minimise or close the window - in
particular, no browser toolbar.
I can find examples on other websites, but either they don't
give a "view source" possibility, or the source doesn't tell me how
to do it.
The key thing is that the window opens in a small size. Lack
of browser toolbar is desirable, but not essential.
Any clues how to do this would be very welcome.
With many thanks
Andy

  • How can I make my pages a smaller size after completing my work?

I have finished making some newspaper styled pages, however they are too big (due to poor calculations). How can I make  my pages  smaller, or to be the size I want?
    Thanks!

As DOD and Peter have suggested, Layout Adjustment is probably the way to go. You will have to do some manual adjustments, but this tool can help save you some time.
If you are using CS5 or earlier this explains the process:
For CS6 you can use the Liquid Layout menu to do this:

  • Conversion to smaller size pdf = discarding objects ?

Using Adobe Acrobat 'Combine files' from a pdf of 19 MB including a bookmark menu (to the left) im creating a pdf of smaller size (optimized).
During the conversion the message " discarding selected objects " appears.
The new file no longer has the bookmark menu which i need.
Is it possible to create a file of smaller size without losing the bookmark menu??

The PDF Optimizer is under the Advanced menu. If you are using Std, you might be out of luck -- I do not think this module is part of Std.

  • Page won't load in one browser

I've created a page that loads perfectly in every browser
except for Safari, it won't load. The load bar just stops and does
nothing. I've tried testing on various machines (both Mac and PC),

    aren't any problems with that.
Does anybody have any suggestions at all?

  • Display size of PDF created by Pages in Browsers

    Hi,
I have created a document using pages and exported it as PDF.
Looking at it in Pages (scale 100%) is fine. It prints DIN A4 perfectly.
I put it on my Web-Server and put a link to it . Except for Firefox, no matter what other browser I try it comes up huge. I know, one can change the display scale in most browsers, (can't find it in IE8) but it is a nuisance. Other peoples PDF's don't seem to do this. Has it to do with it being created by Pages or does anyone know any other reason/solution?
    Thanks
    -Paul-

Pages PDF generation is not the problem.
With the same Acrobat Reader 11.0.02 installed on Windows 7 and OS X 10.8.3, the page display resolution reported by Reader on OS X is 81 ppi, and on Windows, as 96 ppi. Simply put, the same PDF, at the same enlargement setting, would image smaller on OS X than when viewed on Windows 7.
You can test this easily. On the Mac, open a PDF in Reader. Open the Reader preferences and visit Page display > Resolution. Key in 96 ppi and press ok. The PDF image enlarges.
Browsers that still use the Acrobat PDF plugin, or use Reader as a helper application, allow the user to change the viewed PDF enlargement setting, but not the display resolution used. Browsers that offer built-in PDF viewing support (Chrome, Firefox 19) do not. I changed the Reader page display resolution preference, and the Acrobat PDF plug-in did not change viewed PDF size. Even on a refresh of the PDF. It may be hard-wired to use the system default or a calculated default -- perhaps as do the Chrome and current Firefox PDF solutions.

  • Creating small size table calendar on iPhoto 9

How can I create a small size table calendar (e.g 20x20 cm) on iPhoto (not the built-in wall calendar)?
    Thank you
    Duc

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Does your printer support 20 x 20 cm borderless printing? If so the do Print->PDF->Save PDF to iPhoto. This will create a jpg of each page of the calendar and save it to a new album in iPhoto. Then print each page to 20x20 stock with the following print settings: Paper size: 20x20 border; Print size: Borderless.
If your printer doesn't support that size borderless and you don't want a border around each page then try Old Toad's Tutorial #8 - Printing a iPhoto Greeting Card. This requires an image editor that supports layers.

  • Create coustom page size for Smartforms

    Dear All
How to create coustom page size for smartforms.

    pramod

    HI
To define a new page format, choose
    Administration -> CCMS -> Print->® Spool Administration.
Choose Full Administration and then Page Formats on the Device Types tab page. On the next screen choose Change and  Create or  Create with Reference. Fill out the fields on the next screen.
    Activating a New Page Format
Before using a new page format, you must specify it as a page format in a SAPscript form. Be careful when replacing a page format in a standard SAPscript form as the form may not necessarily fit on the new page format.
You also have to define a format and device type format for the new page format before you can use it.

  • Creating Custom page sizes

I only just bought and installed v9 std, having been using
v7, or 3D previously. After installing I found there are only a
limited number of paper sizes available so gone into printer
preferences to add new ones. Clicking on Add/Modify button brings
up the dialogue box for a new page name and sizes which I enter.
After I click the add button, I get the message "Not allowed to
modify system or printer defined paper size (a2). only user defined
paper size can be modified or deleted."
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

  • Can I create a page border using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

I'm making a certificate of completion and would like to create a page border.  Is there any way to do this is Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

If what you want to do is scale a page down to a smaller size, Acrobat doesn't do that, not directly anyway. I think there are plugins for Acrobat that can do this.
if you're desperate and/or don't want to go to that expense, there is a hack available in Acrobat that can get you there. If you've added other interactive elements (links, bookmarks, etc.), you'd have to recreate them. Post again, preferably in a new topic (since it doesn't apply to this one), for more info.

  • JDeveloper 11g:Cannot see all the content of a page, because of size screen

    Hello all!
I am developing an application with JDeveloper 11g, using ADF 11g.
I created a page (all content is in a PSL), but when I deploy the application, if someone has a small screen, he can not see all
    information on the page.
I want to know what I can do for him to descend, or turn left to see the entire contents of the page.
    Thank's,
    Nystan

It kind of depends on the layout component you are using.
A panel stretch layout should be able to adjust the size - unless you hardcoded values into its size.
You can use a panel group with layout set to scroll to enable scrolling of the page content.

  • Any experience with small size text?

I'm creating an iPhoto book as a birthday gift and want to include a time line of historic events over the past 50 years. I'm using Adobe Indesign to create the time line and will convert to a jpeg image to include in the book over two pages.
My smallest font size will be 7pt Ariel. Has anybody had experience including text in an image at a small size, and if so, how well did it reproduce? I can print this out on a laser printer at home and it prints perfectly well, I'm not sure if the print method Apple uses will reproduce text in the same way. At the end of the day I can insert the pages by hand with the laser versions, but curious to know if the iPhoto book printers can save me the hassle.

Hi, Tony. Printing the document directly from InDesign and printing it after it's been converted to a .jpg file may yield radically different results, particularly where very small text is concerned. Create a sample document using the font and size you intend to use in the book, then save it as a .jpg at various resolutions and print each of them from Preview on your own printer. This will give you at least a rough indication how high a resolution is needed for the compressed and rasterized type to be legible. Generally speaking, it's a lousy idea to include type, especially small type, in any raster image. By extension, it's probably not a good idea to use a raster image as a vehicle for adding type to a book, as you propose to do, and as iPhoto's book production standards require you to do if you want to use the iPhoto book service and include your text. But by experimenting at home with resolution (and perhaps with the level of jpeg compression that's applied) before placing your book order, you may be able to make the result look acceptable.

  • Infinite loop creating new page due to column header overflow.

i am getting an error and some pages "Infinite loop creating new page due to column header overflow. " --
using report builder 9, i have a fairly simple report - that contains 4 subreports.
for some pages i get the error - it seems if there is more data than would fit on 1 page.
    smaller pages work fine.
the subreports are all simple queries and dumps....
containing page header, column header, detail sections.
page header has just a text bar of the name of the section.
column header has the field names
detail section has the data - 1 row for each row in the recordset.
