Creating a 'pop-up' video media window

Hi ,
I'm new to Indesign and trying to create a video gallery (as part of a DPS app for iPad) using a large image as a background with numbered hotspot buttons. I would like each button, on release to pop-up a window that plays a video. However, I would like a close button too to hide the window. Has anyone managed this?

I did and although it all works on the desktop Adobe Content Viewer - on the iPad various issues appear.
1. The close button isn't hidden (until triggered) when it should be and is always visible. I'd rather it appeared from the tap on the hotspot.
2. The video appears sometimes, but maybe thats because the hotspot that actions the appearence of state 2 for the video and the close button is quite small... not sure.
3. The close button doesn't hide the video at all even though its set to change the video state back to 1.
I may have decided to try and do (for my first project in Indesign/DPS) things that its not ment to do, but its such a shame - a pop-up hotspot video gallery is quite a nice feature that may have been overlooked...

Can I create a pop up video in PDF

Hey there guys. I have a ebook I have just created and it is educational material. What I want is the 1 1/2 hour video to be above the book while they can turn pages according to what I am talking about. I have created the video file FLV and have the book ready to go. I know I can have them open the video themelves and place it there ... but my feeling is that there are allot of people that don't understand simple moving of open windows and will never get it right. I want it to be an easy open one file and it's all there kind of system.
Is it possible to have a floating video placed above the PDF or better yet a seperate framin in the PDF that does not change when the pages are changed. If not I will do the old fashion way and use html and embed the PDF and video in two frames. But I hate to have to do that ... one PDF would be great.

P.S. I have created the eBook in inDesign so if that helps happy for hints if it's not done in Acrobat.

Cannot be done. You might get away with having a flash video on each page that would open up when the page is turned. The flash video could be embedded into the pdf for hosted on the web or local server.

Create "Pop Up Video" graphic?

Does anyone know how to create a "pop up" video graphics as used in the pop up video classics of days gone by? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

But be prepared for the learning curve on Motion. After several years, I find it opaque and insanely frustrating compared to After Effects.
Creating the bubble effect isn't all that difficult, there may even be several elements in the Library that will adapt easily. The hard parts, the parts that will make you animation elegant and cool, are tweaking the keyframes or behaviors so the movements are non-linear and have some Looney Tunes-like class and personality to them. That is a far more difficult thing to do.

Opening a video in Windows Media Player

How do you open a video in Windows Media Player?
The video I'm trying to open in Windows Media Player is an
avi file.
I noticed that in the Authorware 7 book, it says to simply
add a
wmp after "avi". For ex: myvideo.avi.wmp
It then says to place or import that file onto Authorware
(the flowline).
However when I play it to view, it does not open in Windows
Media
Player. Can someone help me with this problem?

Creating a stationary pop up video on a web page- Help

I am working on a web site for my company and we specialize
in creating a lot of internet videos. I really want to create an
effect where one of our videos can pop up on top of our web page
with a transparent background and play through without moving as
people scroll. The model I am using is on jokeland.com for a better
idea of what I am talking about. Any help would be greatly

It is a hard one.. laptops with small drives are a pain.
What you need is a home media server.
Some people use a PC running itunes for cost.. but that is nothing like as good as using a Mac mini.. they make great little HTPC device.. you can plug in large hard disks and store all your files and media. And share it with the network.. Read up apple's instructions on home sharing.

For cost you can buy a mini from 2011 or 2012.. I would not recommend earlier ones.. the advantage of 2012 is they have USB3 ports. But you will pay more for them.. new mini is not as useful.. they have soldered in memory and you cannot upgrade.. the old mini was the most easily modified mac in the whole range. Uses little power and can be bought for a $300US for a good one second hand.. maybe less.

Creating a pop up window on button click?

How would I create a pop up modal window when a user clicks on a print button within an interactive report. This window would then display a message with a confirm or cancel button. If they click on confirm the page prints out and if they click cancel it takes the user back to the report
Is this possible? if so how is this achieved?

The confirm dialog is a native dialog in the browser. It will display a message and it has an ok and cancel button. Running it in javascript will prompt the user with the dialog, and the return value will be true or false depending on the button clicked.
You don't need any extra page whatsoever.
var r=confirm("Press a button");
if (r==true)
x="You pressed OK!";
else
x="You pressed Cancel!";
}This would prompt you with a small dialog, asking "Press a button.". Clicking Ok or Cancel will return true or false to variable r, which in this code is then tested.
You could shorten it up to
if(confirm("Do you want to print?")){
//execute print code
};Alternatively, if you are on version 4.0 or higher you can use a dynamic action for this. Set the action to fire on the click of a button, and as a true action you can choose the confirm action, which then lets you display a text.

I also try to create a pop-up window en use the following coding:
if vbak-kunnr = '0000000484'.
Call function 'POPUP_TO_INFORM'
EXPORTING
titel = 'pop-up'
txt2 = 'pas op'
txt1 = 'pas nog een keer op'.

endif.
This pop-up only has to appear for customer 484 and this also happens. However the pop-up stays on the screen and I cannot continue with the order. What part in my coding is wrong or wat is missing?

How to create a pop up window with text information?

Hi experts,
I am a newbie in LC and I have created a form to be sent to the vendors by our buyers. Everything seems fine except the Accounting Manager would like to include our Financial Details in the form. I would like to simply create a pop up window with the information which will be activated by pressing a button. I have tried to create an invisible button and a visible button to achieve this but didn't succeed.
p.s. I have no javascript background but slowly learning. I would appreciate if anyone can assist me to complete the task.

Thanks for replying. What I need to accomplish is to have another page of information with all the financial details on the pop up window and the vendor has a choice to print it out or not. After the form is filled out, it is to be sent back to our buyers. So instead of me inserting a 2nd page with the information, I would like to hide it unless someone presses a button to show it.
I have found something like making 2 buttons, one is invisible with all the information on it and the other one "visible" to activate the invisble button. Didn't work at all.
Also another question is after the vendor insert the digital signature, it automatically asked to save (which I found out why from help) and then it opens up the email and sends the form as XML. I will need it to send as PDF, possible??

website and awhile ago I saw a cool effect which someone did on
their site. Basically what I would like to do is when I click on a
link in my page a pop up or a window opens, NOT A BROWSER, a stand
alone window appears on top of the page where the link was clicked.
When this window opens the page behinds dims to highlight this
window. Then inside this window images or video could be placed.
Apple also has this on their site where when you click on an image
of one of their computers a window opens to reveal a bigger image.
Their window also gives off a drop shadow on the page behind which
is nice. I am not much of a coder so any help would be much
appreciated. Another thing, would it be possible in this pop up
window to say if you wanted to view images that at the bottom of
this window was a slider with images and the main image above this
and as you click on the images in the slider they fade in above but
full size?

Where u want to call this POPUP.
u can call the popup in INITIALIZATION tab and in PROGRAM LINES also.
eg.. create program lines--> call the FM
data: V_SVAL type sy-ucomm.
CALL FUNCTION 'ACE_POPUP_WITH_4_OPTIONS'
IMPORTING
ANSWER = V_SVAL.
when u call the smatform the popup will be displayed automatically

When I pushed a button, this pop-up window has to appear. There will be a slide control and a picture from a camera in this window. Is it possible to make appear this windows while main VI Interface continue to run ? How can I do this ? Thank you for your answers.

Here you go. This is simple example. Maybe not the best way, I am just
beginner in LV and still not comfortable with data flow that much. I prefer
events, so I would change this to use Event Structures.
When you click on OK button on SliderMain, it opens Slider.vi. Now both
windows are open and you can interact with both. Now if you click on OK
again with Slider.vi open, you run into problems. Only thing I did was
change VI properties of slider.vi, mainly window appearance.
