Creating a Profile in Mail

Using XP on a HP. When trying to send photos through e-mail, the instruction say to create a profile in the control panel, mail. Do not know what to put in that field. Thanks.

Hi,
The application sends the photos via the default mail client that has been set in the system. So you need to create a new eMail account. For that go to Control Panel->Mail -> E-Mail Accounts.and create a new account.
Also, you can modify the email settings in PSA itself in Edit-> preferences -> EMail , here you can mention the email client to be selected for sharing photos.
Thanx.

    As all of the msuic came from your computer in the first place it should still be there.  Is it not?
    EVERYTHING on your ipod should also be on your computer and should be included in your regular backup copy of your computer.
    Make sure that everything is on your computer.  You can transfer itunes purchases from the ipod.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases.
    When everything is on your computer, then it can be synced back to the ipod after updating.

  • Profiles, Certificates, Mail, and SSL

    Strictly speaking, I have an iPod Touch 32G with iPhone software 2.2 (5G77a) for this problem. Expect my problem is exactly the same as for an iPhone.
    iTunes synced my email account information just fine for a work POP3 account, work Exchange account, and gmail via IMAP. But not for my personal FreeBSD-hosted IMAP account which uses Dovecot and a self-signed certificate generated with the script provided in Dovecot.
    Have been using this configuration for years with Mail.app. Every year I generate a new certificate and prior to MacOS 10.5 used to move it into "X509 Anchors" or some similarly named place with Keychain Access.app.
    First problem resolved was my FreeBSD machine was named "opus.local" in my DNS. Tcpdump showed the iPod was trying to find it via mDNS. Reconfigured my internal DNS server to use .home rather than .local. Had to make new certificate for Dovecot and reconfigure Mail.app on my Mac Pro.
    Now dovecot complains to FreeBSD's /var/log/maillog that the iPod connected via TLS but "Aborted login (no auth attempts)". The iPod says "Cannot Get Mail: The connection to the server "opus.home" failed." Tcpdump shows dovecot sending the certificate. The console in iPhone Configuration Utility only says:
    Wed Dec 24 21:55:18 unknown MobileMail[37] <Warning>: ERROR: The connection to the server "opus.home" failed.
    So after much study I have created a profile and "Shared" it using iPhone Configuration Utility version 1.1. Put my .cer in Credentials, emailed it to a working account, then the iPod complained about not having a Mail profile and rejected the whole thing.
    Made a profile including mail with IMAP via SSL on port 143. iPod installed this one. Didn't work. Viewing the profile on the iPod showed port 993 was selected, not 143, and being a profile it was locked against change.
    Tried emailing the .cer file only. That succeeded in installing a certificate after deleting the previous profile. The iPod created a profile which only has my certificate, but is still not communicating with dovecot on opus.home.
    Watching the communication with tcpdump the two exchange a good number of small packets before the iPod gives up.
    My self-signed certificate is RSA with a 128 byte public key (1024 bits).
    What am I doing wrong?

    Worked on this for weeks before posting. So after posting the above I disabled SSL on the mail account on the iPod. Enabled "PLAIN" authentication in Dovecot for non-encrypted sessions. And was able to download email.
    Then I went back and re-enabled SSL. Checked email and finally got the message about the certificate possibly not secure (its self-signed).
    Disabled the non-encrypted PLAIN in Dovecot, and everything still works!
    There is something about iPhone 2.2 software that doesn't work with a self-signed certificate until after some traffic has moved through the account.

  • HT201304 How do i create a profile for my iPad. so i can have a profile and my children can have their own profile?

    I need help with reating profiles on my ipad. Can someone please tell me how you creat profiles. I would like one profile for adults and one for chidlren.

    You can't create different profiles or user accounts on the iPad. It was not designed that way. It was designed as a single user device - no matter what you see in the TV commercials.
    You can use passcode lock the iPad, you can set up restrictions in order to prevent purchasing of apps, prevent changing mail accounts, dsiable using FaceTime, using Safari and you can age restrict some content as well in the restrictions.

    Hi ,
    I need to dynamically create preflight profiles depending on the analysis of the document. I am using Adobe's C++ SDK to access the Adobe Acrobat Pro X as a server to perform the actions I need to. Maybe I failed in my search for the function to create a preflight profile. Is there any other SDK to create the preflight proflies within the Adobe Acrobat environment.

    Hi,
    As discuss above , we have to create the XML response  ,before that first you have to
    GetConfiguration() details of existing virtual network.

  • LoadUserProfile() creates a profile with Chinese characters on a remote system

    Hi,
    I'm working on an application where LoadUserProfile() is being used to remotely load a user profile on a machine. The token being passed to LoadUserProfile() is obtained from LogonUser().
    When doing this only with a Domain Admin user which is added in Active Directory, it creates a profile with Chinese characters in the C:\Users\ folder of the remote machine. Note that this happens only when logging in for the first time with
    this Domain Admin account remotely on that machine.
         // code:
          PROFILEINFO pi;
          memset((void *) &pi, 0, sizeof(PROFILEINFO));
          pi.dwSize = sizeof(PROFILEINFO);
          pi.dwFlags = PI_NOUI;
          pi.lpUserName = (TCHAR *)strUser;   //strUser is the User name, and it shows correctly here when debugging
          if (LoadUserProfile(hToken, &pi))
    //It is actually successful, and comes here when debugging.
    Although the name shows up correctly when debugging (remotely), why is it creating a profile with Chinese characters on the remote machine?
    TIA,
    Jy

    CreateProfile won't load the profile.  You need to use LoadUserProfile to load the profile, and you need to query for a roaming profile path to put in the lpProfileInfo parameter if you want to include that as well.  You need a token for a
    user to call LoadUserProfile, but not a profile handle.  LoadUserProfile will populate that for you before it returns if it was successful.  See this excerpt from
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb762281%28v=vs.85%29.aspx:
    Upon successful return, the hProfile member
    of PROFILEINFO is
    a registry key handle opened to the root of the user's hive. It has been opened with full access (KEY_ALL_ACCESS). If a service that is impersonating a user needs to read or write to the user's registry file, use this handle instead of HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
    Do not close thehProfile handle.
    Instead, pass it to the UnloadUserProfile function.
    This function closes the handle. You should ensure that all handles to keys in the user's registry hive are closed. If you do not close all open registry handles, the user's profile fails to unload. For more information, see Registry
    Key Security and Access Rights and Registry
    Hives.

  • Can't create a profile or find newtwork

    I have a WRT300N and a WMP300N card with 3 computers in my house. My bro's computer is wired. My sisters has one WMP300N card and works fine. My Computer was working fine I used it this morning then I lost my connection and my linksys wireless network box was greyed out and it couldnt find the network to connect to. After trying a few things I decided to uninstall and re install the WMP300N card and I did so now the first thing that pops up is Create A Profile. But there is no network being found and i can't click anything other than exit. Any Idea what to do? I know I've solved this problem in the past. And my sister's computer still works fine and has access to the internet. Any help would be appreciated thanks

    Check the Wireless network settings from router ... Install the CD ... once it will show you settings to create the Profile .... Use the same settings as to configure the Profile .....
    Reboot the computer after installtion .... see if it shows connected ....

  • How do I create a rule in mail that only applies to flagged messages?

    I would like to create a rule in mail that would delete messages of a certain age, but I need to keep some messages safe. I would like to be able to flag these or put them in a mailbox and have a rule making messages with those flags or mailboxes safe from being deleted. Is that something I can do? Thanks!

    You can create a local mailbox and move the messages you want to keep there. I don't see any kind to rule you can make to move a flagged message, so you would probably have to do it manually, unless you can use other criteria to identify messages you wish to keep.
    If you're using the server settings in mail to determine the age before deletion, the local mailboxes would be safe from that deletion. You can set to store messages on server for up to 30 days before deletion. This will work for IMAP accounts, but don't apply to the inbox. Just to the other main mailboxes such as Sent, Trash, etc.
    If you create a rule to delete messages after a certain age (outside of what the servers would do automatically), I think it would only work on the inbox if at all, but not sure. If it were applied through all, it would delete them from the local folders also.
    You can create a smart mailbox and input certain criteria such as flagged, age. You could exclude any mailbox that you don't want to include, such as local folders, by adding that to part of the criteria. You would have to delete the messages manually as they accumulate. This would be useful when you save a lot of mail, but say you only want to keep messages less than a year old. This would help you instantly see messages that meet your deletion criteria without having to manually check messages for age.

  • I can't get firefox to open. Try creating another profile as suggested in another answer, and it says that firefox has crashed, how do I get firefox working?

    I had to restore my computer to a previous restore point. When I tried opening firefox 4.0, nothing happened. Frustrated, I tried removing the program, but ran into the same problem: nothing happened. I went to Processes in Windows Task Manager, and firefox.exe was not running. Tried using the suggestions to create another profile, and entering the command into run brought up an error saying that firefox has crashed.

    OK - undo the changes you made to DEP.
    Open Firefox - take a screenshot of any message that appears and post back here

    Just define the following coding for your button...
        ls_button-text     = 'Outlook mail'.
        ls_button-tooltip = 'Outlook mail'.
        ls_button-on_client_click = 'javascript:window.open ("mailto:email@email?subject=CRM","mywindow1","width=100,height=100,scrollbars=no,menubar=no");'.
        ls_button-page_id  = me->component_id.
        ls_button-enabled  = abap_true.
        APPEND ls_button TO rt_buttons.
        CLEAR ls_button.
