Creating a "SHAKE" effect in Edge

Does anyone know how to create a "shake" effect in Adobe Edge. I'll use furniture as an example. Basically I want the user to shake the ipad, and a random pile of furniture shakes to create a nice, set-up room. I found a shake.js file to upload to the .html file. But I haven't figured out how to set the events in Edge, so it specifically shakes the furniture.
THANKS!

I meant the person casting his own shadow on other things. For casting a shadow ON your subject, I'd use emboss or many other good macros that are out there to make a feux Z (or depth) map, luma key that and plug it into iDisplace (with the shadow shape plugged into the left side of the node) so it looks like the shadow is conforming to ripples in clothing and details in the face. Then either use that new mask shape as a faded black bar layered over the subject or use it as a modifying matte in a Brightness node (best used when combined using KeyMix instead of just plugging it into the side of the Brightness node)
Edit: I thought back and Z-map isn't the correct term for what I did there, the term I was looking for was contour map or bump map

  • Create a rollover effect with an avg with edge animate

    Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to create a rollover effect (i.e. get my social media icons spin or drop shadow or change color) when I hover over them, I know how to do it with CSS 3 but I think it will also be useful if I learn how to do it with Adobe Edge Animate. I appreciate your time.
    Thank you.

  • Wind Shake Effect Around Z Axis

I would like to create a "Wind Shake Effect Around Z Axis". I have a image of the leave in vertical position standing on its stem and would like it to have an appearance as if it trembles in the wind.
I applied Wiggle effect. However it wiggles/distorts in all possible directions but the Z axis. What would be my course of actions/direction to try to emulate a slight rapid shake around the Z axis in the front veiew.
In other words you look at the leave and see its right edge coming at you and left edge away of you and then in reverse. Pritty much like skewing in 3D with exception of X and Y axis.
I use AE CS6 on Windows.

    Thank you for your reply.
Looks like I will need step by step direction as I was not able to successfully implement your suggestion.
    Here is what I tried.
    1. With the Wiggle Gelatin effect applied to my "Leaf" layer and 3D turned on I clicked "P" on the keyboard which opened Position in under layer's "Transform". Holding down "Alt" I pressed stop watch on the Position and entered your code:
        seedRandom(index, true)
        leafJitter=wiggle(3,30);
        leafJitterZ=leafJitter[2];
    I got this error message:
After Effects warning: Class'Array" has no property or methid named '2'
        Expression disabled.
        Error occured at line 3.
        Comp:'shake leave test'
        Layer:1 ('Green2')
        Property;'Position'
    2. Same as all of the above, but I selected "Position" under "Effects" of the layer and got this error message:
After Effects warning: expression result must be of demension 3, not 1
        Expression disabled.
        Error occured at line 0.
        Comp:'shake leave test'
        Layer:1 ('Green2')
        Property;'Position'
    3. I deleted the Wiggle Effect all together and applied you three lines of code ot Position. This produced no results.
Please let me know where I messed up or you need more specific info on my set up?

  • Creating an infinity effect

I'm trying to create an infinity effect with my background layers and have no idea how to do it. My animation is reasonably simple...a camera tracks into a text layer. I have placed two gradient layers in the background as a floor and a wall. The floor has a rotation of 0 degrees and the wall is minus 90. My problem is that where both layers join there is a dark line and I want it to appear seamless. Does anyone know a way around this?

Everything I tried left a fairly defined horizon line, except for one:
Use the same gradient for the floor as you did for the back, and reverse it's order so that the two edges match at the same color (you can manipulate the floor gradient afterwards to change in the direction of the viewer.)
Easiest thing to do is create the back wall; create the gradient effect. Set the Anchor Point at the bottom edge. Duplicate the wall. Rotate the floor 90 degrees on X. Position in space; scale accordingly.
Go back into the floor shape gradient and change as needed – anything but the edge color that contacts the back.
You can't use a light. So fake one. You can add an oval shape behind the main subject - large feather value - a color blend mode like Add (turn down opacity to taste.) You can use a Reflection on the floor.
The effect will be seemless... but also a lot more work achieving a balance.

  • Creating a "stamped" effect

There is an effect that I am trying to accomplish, so far all my attempts to create this clip have not turned out the way I wanted.
First I will explain the effect I am looking for, and then I will explain how I tried to accomplish it.
In the scene I have a character singing on stage. At one point I will freeze frame the image and a title will “stamp” on the video with a very quick earthquake shake effect.
I created a freeze frame and also the Image I want to be stamped on the video. I started with the Image very large and within a few frames I key framed it to the size and location I needed it. For the shake earthquake effect I am having trouble reaching the desired effect. I tried a slight up and down key frame movement on the video side. But it was not the effect I was looking for.
How would you create this scene? What filters or transitions would you use if any?
Any tips or ideas would be appreciated.
    Thank you

This shouldn't be that hard to do but I'd do it in a separate sequence so you can either nest it or render it and reimport it.
Deconstruct the real world activity of stamping. A hand holding a large rubber stamp arcs down and slams onto a piece of paper on a table. The impact is in the direction of the energy imparted by the motion of the stamp. If your stamped title is zooming into the shot form behind the camera, the scene will, in reality, be thrust away from the camera. A slight reduction in scale. you can't do that unless you slowly add a bit of scaling to the shot before the freeze.
Linear movement will take place over about 15 frames. You will need, say, three randomly placed keyframes, one for a change in the X axis, 2 for changes in the Y. This makes a total of five keyframes because you will need the start and stop positions.
You'll need a lot of motion blur to sell an earthquake effect.
    That's where you start.
As noted earlier, there are earthquake filters, some are free..

  • Trying to create HTML5 Video Playlist in Edge Animate - I can't get it to work. Please help!?!?

    Hi All,
I am creating an interactive site through Edge Animate and am in the process of trying to create a HTML 5 Video Playlist to function within Edge Animate.
    Current Process - Example:
I have 3 videos that need to be played on a certain page.
I created a symbol and dragged the videos to the stage and hidden them within that symbol's timeline.
I then use thumbnail images in a side playlist to either .remove(); .hide(); a video and .show(); the next.
However when I do a hide / show option, the video continue to plays in the background if I don't also create an if/else statement to pause it.
My concern with pausing it is that it will continue to load and dramatically slow down the load time of the site.
    References:
I found this which looks very helpful but don't know how to add this to edge composition.
    http://demosthenes.info/blog/909/Create-An-Automatic-HTML5-Video-Playlist
Please help or put me in the right direction to create a playlist would be hugely... AMAZINGLY.. helpful.
    Thanks,
    Jason

    Hi Joe,
Thank you so much for your help on this one. It is hugely appreciated!!
I have been working frantically to implement your solution to get this working. I used the 'change src' method.
I have added all my code below in case anyone wants the solution in the future.
Could you please help below as I am now totally stuck with the <track> and 'event listener issues' !!
    Issue #1:
I am having major problems with loading the 'closed captions' track element.
Everything I click for the video to change source / to the next video, the closed caption track adds to the video and doesn't 'unload' the previous one. You then end up with multiple different subtitle tracks on the video screen
    - The closed captions / subtitles are not showing up in Google Chrome either?
    Issue #2:
I can't get the event listener in edge animate to work for 'playing' and 'ended'. Can you please help and point me in the correct direction??

  • How do I create this particle effect?

I am pretty new to After Effects and I'm getting to grips with all the particle effects and have managed to create some cool looking animations, but I'm trying to create the particle effect as seen in the image link below. Can anyone tell me how this is done, and what plug-in (if any) would be used to create something like this? I can't get anything I do to look like this. Thanks...
    http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/5001/particleskf1.jpg

Create the custom particle in Photoshop or a separate comp. Drag the custom particle into your main comp, turn its visibility off, set Particular's particle setting to "Custom Particle", and choose the new layer as the source.
Create a camera for the comp and turn on "Depth of field". Experiment with the settings until you get the desired effect.
Personally, I'd use two Particular layers for that look, one for the larger particles and another for the smaller ones.

  • How to create the droste effect in photoshop cc 2014?

In the past you could use pixel bender to create the droste effect, that is what I have found out from the internet.
But how to create that effect today seams non existent on the net!
    Can any one help?
    KR,
    AJ

Right.  Pixel Bender is gone.  It was an experimental filter available from Adobe Labs but never made it into an actual product release. As of CS6, Oil Paint filter was introduced.  It's not the same thing but more like a shaved down version of Pixel Bender.
Look at Filter Forge.  They offer a 30-day trial.  Disclaimer:  I've never used it myself.

  • Creating a water Effect using AS3

    Hi There
I have created a water effect in Adobe Flash using AS2,

Please see the attached code I have used to create the water

I am looking for somebody to help me change this to work in
Action Script 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are maybe talking about the cursor tooltips? The
one when you pause over a link a little box pops up
with the link or name of the link? Maybe?
If so, iweb can't do this. It make the default
tooltips the name of the link. You can edit it to
whatever you want by changing the "alt" tag in the
    html.

  • Tutorial on creating a Sparkle effect

    Hi all,
I'm trying to create a sparkle effect in which i have a small video on top of the main video.  The small video has a circular matte so it's in the circular shape, and I want the border to have a sparkle effect.. as if it is a star or something.  Can someone point me to the proper effect or a tutorial?
    Thanks

There are tens of thousands of tutorials for After Effects, many are rubbish, but you get what you pay for. The problem is finding something that is a precise discrition that you can understand of exactly what you think you want. You can look up sparkle and you will eventually find out that what you really are looking for are particle tutorials. Then you may discover particles are really complex. Really. Isn't there an easier way?
CC Particle Systems II, under Simulations, will create sparkle particles from within a shape.
