Creating a simple OS via Oracle Manager

I have created an Oracle Server and an Oracle manager in 2 VMWare servers to test the process prior to building the physical systems.
I have imported the iso into Manager and tried to use these to do the install, although I can't see how the 5 CD set from Oracle will work.
But anyway, when performing the install I get the following error

Your environment is not supported definitely and you had better install your Oracle VM server to a separated physical system.
From your error message, it looks that your Hardware does not support Fully Virtualized Virtual Machines. you may try to use paravirt, instead of hvm to create a PV guest.

Create subfolders under Inbox via Exchange Management Shell

Hello. I 'd like to create a standard set of subfolders under the Inbox for some dozens of users. I tried the command below:
New-MailboxFolder -Parent Tony:\Inbox -Name
Personal
(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335113(v=exchg.150).aspx)
which is supposed to create the subfolder "Personal" under user's Tony Inbox. But the problem is that while I am an administrator and possess full access to his mailbox I can't execute this command unless I am logged into Exchange as the real ...Tony.
Theoretically there must be some way for the administrator to impersonate Tony and execute the command. ?
We have an exchange 2013 on premise and would like to do this via a script for mass deployment. Any ideas are welcome.

I believe you need to use EWS to do something like that. I did a quick search and found this script where someone else has already done the work. Probably worth a shot :)

Create AP payment via Cash Management

Hi all,
In EBS 12.1.3 i try to create an AP Payment via Cash Management Responsibility. But when the forms redirects me where i should create the payment - one of the field/BANK_ACCOUNT_NAME/ is populated by default with strange value. I suppose it should take the value from bank_account_name in the cash header. Instead of this it takes value for another bank/i'm unable to find the logic of taking exactly this bank account.../
For example :
In Cash - Bank acc name = A in Payables - B,
In Cash Bank acc name = C in Payables - D
and so on...
Any ideas? Maybe some settings for creating AP Payments via the Cash Management responsibility?

I would suggest that you read the "APEX User's Guide" first. It has detailed instructions for creating a form using a wizard. You can download the PDF at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32472_01/doc/appdev.300/b32471.pdf.
In the PDF document, go to section "Creating a Form Using a Wizard." After you read the documentation, if you still think you need help, please post a request here and I will be glad to rephrase the instructions for you.

Unable to create a test via Content Management via Content Administration

I am unable to create a test or survey via Content Management via Content Administration because insufficient privileges message. I create the folder and enter the test information for creating a test and then I after I click apply. I get message “You have insufficient privileges for the current operation. Please contact your System Administrator”.
The System Administrator viewed the profile being tied to the responsibility and thinks there is no problem. Somebody please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you add the main "Learning Administrator" role (UMX|OTA_LRNG_ADMIN), it will include all child roles for the Administrator, including the Learning Content Administrator, Learning Catalog Administrator, Learning Enrollment Administrator, Learning Finance Administrator, Learning Resource Administrator, and Learning Setup Administrator. If you don't have all of these roles, there are functions you will not have access to under the Learning Administrator responsibilities.
The "Learning Instructor - Update" role only allows users that have the Learning Instructor Self-Service responsibility to update enrollment statuses for Learners that have attended classes that they are set as a resource for and won't impact the Administrator functionality.

Oracle Management Server Service not created

Hello,
I created a Management Server Repository using OEMCA and an existing SID. According to the details displayed at the end of the wizard I assume that the process was finished successfully:
(NT-Service OracleOraHome81 ManagementServer is started...
Disconnect from oms@instancename....
Returning to connection system@instancename...
Process finished.
Yet the Oracle Management Server Service can not be found in SERVICES in the control panel...and therefore can't be started manually.
I have OS-Administrator Privileges.
I use Oracle 8.1.7 on WinNT.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i am trying to install oracle management server using the the option "create new repository "on a system on which oracle database is already installed .after installing oracle management server "configuration assistant appears .the second option is to select a database repository .
first of all can i select the database that was prevouisly installed on my system
or do i need to create a new database before installing oracle management server. but as i did not install any database for oracle management server before i am trying to select the database that was previuosly installed on the system but i gave me a tns error that it could not resolve the service name .after that i noticed that the oms listerner was up and registered . i am trying to stop this listener and start the database listerner so that it may not give me this error.can some one help me out configuring oracle management server on a system creating a new repository

I suggest you to create a different database for the OMS repository. This database can be used for other tools that may require a repository, such as recovery manager.
On the connectivity issue, I suggest you to verify your listener is up and running and it doesn't need to have the instance registered, as of course, it is a new instance. Make sure it is started. For additional troubleshooting on the connectivity issue, you may post the specific tns-12XXX error message displayed.

I'm facing the same issue as user#####.
Your workaround does not work ; when I deploy manuelly the ear file, with a new weblogic-application.xml, I get the same error.
Does that happen a lot ? :p

"Discovery failed to null" error message when starting up Oracle Management

hey folks,
i am trying to get the Oracle Enterprise Manager to work and i get an error message. Here is what i've done so far.
1. Installed Oracle service. It is started (under Start>...>Services it says "Started").
2. Created a Listener for the Oracle service via Net8 Assistant. It is also started.
3. Created a Service Name in Net8 Assistant listening to the above mentioned Listener. When i tested it, it said "test successfull".
4. Created an ODBC Data Source via the ODBC Administrator.
5. Created a repository for the Oracle service using the Enterprise Configuration Assistant.
so now i am trying to start the Oracle Management Server and when i click on "start service", a command window opens and the following is on it:

Starting the Oracle Management Server...VXA-3008 : Starting OMS Services, Wait.

The OMS is now started and ready."
where xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is the name of my machine. The status for the OracleManagementServer under Services is "Started", but when i go to the Oracle Enterprise Manager console and try to log in, it just locks up.
any ideas?

if you are getting connection to the OEM you have to choose if you get connect in STANDALONE MODE or OMS MODE.
if you choose the first you have to get connection as a
user that has granted sysdba role
if you choose the second you have to get connection as a
user called sysman or another user stablished for the repository.

Importing vm created on vm server in vm manager

Hi all,
I have created a vm with virt-install on the vm server.This only created a hardisk image file at the location which i specified as /OVS/running_pool/vm_name and one configuration file in /etc/xen. when i try to import this vm in the vm manager it gives error as no vm.cfg found.(i already have few vm created through vm manager).
Do vm created thru vm server be imported via vm manager?

I had similar experiences and this is what we did:
1. Move (yes move, not copy) the configuration file created by virt-install (by default in /etc/xen/<your_virtual_machine_name>) to /OVS/running_pool/<your_virtual_machine_name>/vm.cfg
2. Import the virtual machine into Oracle VM Manager:
* Resources Tab
* Virtual Machine Images
* Import
* Select from server pool (discover and register)
* Choose your server pool
* Sharing - set as Private
* Pick the virtual machine from the drop down list
* Select the O/S version
* System user/password
* Console Password:
* Enter a description of tha machine.
* Import it
* Once imported you then need to approve it
3. You should now be able to see and control the virtual machine from the Oracle VM Manager main window.
