Creating a square border in LR5

Is it possible to create a square border in LR5? If so, how? So far I have only been able to create a white border with rounded corners.

In the Library module, select the photo you want to have a border, then switch to the Print module.
In the Template Browser on the left side of the application, select a Single Image template the correlates to the size you want the photo to be, such as 4 x 6 or 8 x 10.
In the Image Settings panel on the right side of the application, select Stroke Border. Specify a Width of the desired size (such as 10 points) and click the color swatch to choose a color, such as white.
In the Print Job panel, choose Print To > JPEG File. Specify the resolution and other options (sharpening, JPEG quality, etc.).
Click Print to File.
Try the given steps and let know if that helps!

Create a white border around round object

Hi there,
I am a relative newbie to photoshop - I am trying to create a border around a logo that has rounded edges. I have used to stroke tool and it creates the border. However, when I try and save it and use it it still has square edges.
How do I get rid of the square edges and make sure that you only see the rounded border?

Images are created with square pixels and so all image formats are either square or rectangular.
What you need to do is create a transparent background for your round logo with border.
Then you need to save it in a image format that supports transparency. (hint: jpegs don't support transparency)
Quick way to do this is double click the background layer in the layer panel to unlock it. (assuming you only have 1 layer?)
Then select the area outside your logo that you want to make transparent and hit the delete key.
You should see a checkerboard pattern. This pattern is only to to show you that this area is transparent, it won't print as a checkerboard.
It also depends on how the image is being used as not all applications support transparency.

Can I create a page border using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

I'm making a certificate of completion and would like to create a page border. Is there any way to do this is Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

If what you want to do is scale a page down to a smaller size, Acrobat doesn't do that, not directly anyway. I think there are plugins for Acrobat that can do this.
if you're desperate and/or don't want to go to that expense, there is a hack available in Acrobat that can get you there. If you've added other interactive elements (links, bookmarks, etc.), you'd have to recreate them. Post again, preferably in a new topic (since it doesn't apply to this one), for more info.

How do I create a new library in LR5 with photos from LR3 and older computer?

I want to take photos I originally imported with LR3 on an older computer and creat a new library in LR5 on my new computer. I want to throw out all old metadata, folder names and keywords and start from scratch. How would I go about this. My photo library is on an external drive. Thanks.

I guess I hadn't thought about the fact I'd lose my edits. I have just a little experience with LR. I've realized that I did not organize and cateorize my photos in a useful way when I first created the library and want to start over. Perhaps I should just plug my photo drive into my new computer and go through photo by photo resorting them and reentering keywords and folder names. If you have any suggestions on how to best to this, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Mail shows a capital A in a square border character for each character in all links in most html emails.

If I copy and paste a block of these characters into TextEdit, I can see the correct verbage with links intact. Using OSX 10.6.8, all software updated. What's up with this? Still using mobileme, could it be related to that? This just started two days ago. Old emails are now displaying this way. Actually, an email from the White House goes the other way; the entire body displays as blocks of capital As (inside a square border) and the links display correctly.

Close all running applications. From an administrator account, open the Terminal app and enter the following command. You can also copy/paste it from here into the Terminal window:
sudo atsutil databases -remove
Terminal will then ask for you to enter your admin password. As you type, it will not show anything, so be sure to enter it correctly.
This removes all font cache files. Both for the system and all user font cache files. After running the command, close Terminal and immediately restart your Mac.
If after that the problem returns, then Lucida Grande itself is damaged and needs to be replaced.
That's fixed with reinstalling the OS.

Create an inset border Cs6 Photoshop

I cannot seem to figure out the steps to create an inset border, I used Windows edit for the example of what I desire.
I would like to shown the steps to do this in Photoshop CS6 Please.

What I want... I used Edit in windows Paint to achieve this but one would think this should be as easy as Stroke and inset.. But I could not get it to work?

In Photoshop, you would start with the Marquee Tool.
I would move the Marquee cursor to where I want the border centered, and holding down the Option/Alt key, drag out.
When you have the Marquee where you want it, use Edit > Stroke, where you can set the color and width of the stroke, and where around the marquee you want the stroke to go.
As in your illustration, guides are best for placing your border. Having it on a separate layer gives you more flexibility.

That was probably done in a vector drawing program like Adobe Illustrator.
You can probably get something close to that in Photoshop using the Polygon Shape Tool. Set its side for how ever many bumps your want (say 32?).
Set it to Star, Smooth Corners, Smooth indents with 10% or so indent sides?

Red square border prevents continuous vi execution

i see a red square border in my vi diagram and whenever i press the run continuously icon,
the vi executes and then stops at a particular node at this point i have to press the
pause/continue button or sometimes i have to press the step out button.
i havent specified any breakpoints and the vi show no errors during compilation.
i have tried many things like disabling debugging ,checking the vi for breakpoint etc..
but none of them seem to work ,the red square border still seems to be there.
can u specify some way to remove this . am i doing anything wrong ? please guide me ..."

The red square border is indeed a breakpoint. Just select the breakpoint tool and point to some blank space inside the diagram. If the cursor is an empty (not filled in) stop sign then there IS a breakpoint there. Just click and the red border should go away and the cursor change to a filled stop sign. Give it a try and see if there is a breakpoint there.

CP5.5: Creating a custom border

Hi, everyone,
Is there a way to create a custom border to appear beneath the playbar? I'd like to show an agency seal and classification markings. I assume there is more to this process than just creating the border and dropping it in the directory where Cp5.5 keeps the borders.

Your best bet is NOT to muck around with your publish templates first. Try edting an already published HTM file to achieve the result that you want, and then ONLY once you know you have a solution, edit your publish templates.
They're located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5\Templates\Publish
In order to pull this off you (or someone else you know) will need to have knowledge of how to program HTML and CSS.

How can I create a white border around figures that are in an image? (CS 6; examples+image included)

I have CS6 and am wondering how to create a white ("comic style"?) border around figures in an image, as in the examples below. I don't wish to include the black shadow of the border, just the white part.

I researched for quite a while but could find no instructions. It would be very much appreciated if someone knows and would be kind enough to share the technique! Thank you.

If you make the image a layer (opposed to Background)...
You could Select the blue with the Magic Wand as Semaphoric says, then fill with white. Then choose Select - Modify Selection - Contract, and mask or delete the remaining pixels. The Contract operation will give you a nice border the size you choose.
For extra credit, you could use Refine Edge to make the selection more accurate.
