Creating a static link for an hdd in an lvm?

One of the HDDs in my lvm has its "Advanced power management level" too low. I can't run a script to change it since you know the hdd name changes, and uuid is only for filesystems and not individual hdds.
Whats a way I can get a static link to the hdd?

Creating a Database link for a user

Hello All,
I am trying to create a database link for one of my users.
When I create it as sysdba the link gets created in the SYS schema which tells me that my syntax is working/fine.
But when I ALTER my SESSION and set my CURRENT_SCHEMA = <USER_NAME> I get ORA-00990: missing or invalid privilege
So I tried granting the user CREATE DATABASE LINK, CREATE PUBLIC DATABASE LINK, and DROP PUBLIC DATABASE LINK.
Same error.
Any ideas what I am missing?

I have tried creating an external attachment i.e URL link for a workorder by triggering a custom FM by exporting business object type , order id ,realtion type , title and link with return parameter as a message .
But i'm not being able to create URL link for workorder using the custom FM.
Kindly please suggest some solutions regarding how the URL link can be created using an FM instead of manual creation.

...the search scope is used to subset the SGs and DGs. The search scope itself shows expected results. The search scope filter used is: /Group[Type='Security' or Type='MailEnabledSecurity'][(Domain = 'DomainX') or (Domain = 'DomainY')]
Tried the following, with the GUID being the resource ID from the search scope for security groups:

are you talking about redirect URL in search scope ? FIM will automatically add the searchtype querystring
for custom groups search scope you can use :
~/IdentityManagement/aspx/groups/AllGroups.aspx
and configure you search scope to use the same UsageKeywords as for the security groups
and restart your IIS server using the command "IISRESET"
in your case if you want to create navigation bar link to your group-type search scope use may use this format:

How to create a download link for video file?

Hello guys,
I know this is not a question directly related to OS X, but I just can't find a solution. So I was hoping that some of you might know the answer, or could recommend further reading.
I have .mov video files (video footage) on the server. I would like to make these files accessible for download, via link.
So I am wondering .... how can I create a link, which would allow people to download .mov video files from the server?

The question is, where is the server?
Is it on its own static IP? If it is not, it likely is on a DHCP configuration.
For those with DHCP, I recommend http://www.dyndns.com as a workaround, otherwise the links given will have to change as often as every hour!
Is it on a router, or does it have a firewall turned on in its sharing preferneces? Routers and firewalls block direct access from the outside. You need to setup the web sharing access on your router or firewall before someone can access it via the web.
Is the .mov file saved via Quicktime? You would also need to provide link on your page to http://www.apple.com/quicktime so that it may be downloaded by those who don't have it. If it is another format, you'll need a link to whatever format it is.
HTML for putting the video right on the page is usually controled by the EMBED function. That's covered here:

Otherwise a simple hyperlink to the file will do, once you have an open web sharing port on a static IP or dyndns controled domain.

Create an internet link for a PC in an apple environment

I am a complete beginner, bear with me. I have an ibook G4 and a G5 both running Tiger 10.4.2 and linking to the internet via airport extreme. I am trying to link a PC so that it too can access wirelessly through the airport and have the ability to print to 2 printers also in the apple loop. I have set the PC up with wireless 802.11b & 802.11g software but cannot get it to connect. The PC software is asking for a network key but I don't know where this can be found? Additionally do I need to adjust any Apple settings?

Creating PDFs with links for web searches

Hi everyone. That title is not exactly the problem I'm having, but it's a good start.
We have found that Firefox/IE/Chrome search our PDFs quite nicely, but when the link is clicked in the search results, all that happens is that the PDF opens to page 1. Users have to search again to find what they're looking for. Perhaps that is just how such a search is supposed to happen, but it seems that I've seen somewhere that a PDF opened to the page with the search term on it.
What can we add to the FrameMaker source files or the PDF (before it's posted to the web) to ensure that a search link takes the user precisely to the text being searched for? We're TCS3 with unstructured FM but might soon be, um, strongly encouraged to switch to the structured version.
I've looked through the FM and Acrobat forums for an answer, to no avail.

That would be my guess. Search engines probably cannot search many PDFs in the raw at all (you don't have to turn on much security to turn a PDF binary into an encrypted mess). But if the PDF allows reading and/or printing, they can render the whole thing, and index what's displayed. The named destinations may not be recovered in that process, plus, you're not always assured that there will be an ND nearby everything you're indexing.
Adobe might even provide some APIs that would allow deeper linking into PDFs as a search result, but it may also be that few enough have useful NDs that it just isn't worth the bother to look. NDs inflate the size of the PDF, so many publishers don't turn them on (we don't, and probably won't, until we need deliberate deep linking).
If you want the info to be accessible like a web page, you multi-flow to HTML or a similar non-atomic format as well.

TimeMachine won't create hard links for replacement drive if not connected

With TimeMachine, I backup two external drives (let's call them drive A and B). Recently, drive B broke and I restored the data on a replacement drive and gave the volume the same name as the broken one had. I made TimeMachine aware of the fact that this new drive corresponds to the old one by using the "tmutil -a associatedisk" command as described here: http://pondini.org/TM/B6.html
When TimeMachine started the next backup, it did not perform all full backup of the new drive, though still way more than it should. So far so god.
The problem is: if TimeMachine performs a backup while the new drive (the replacement of drive B) is not connected, it does not create the hard links for it. Drive A is not connected either, though hard links for it show up in the Backups.backupdb folder for this backup.
If the replacement drive is connected the next time, TimeMachine will perform a full backup of it ... most likely because the previous backup does not contain any hard links.
Is there a way how to fix this?

Et voilà 1: The first time, TimeMachine backed up only about 0.5 GB ... which is a fairly reasonable value that is likely due to the changes on the internal disk, not to my external replacement disk where about 170 GB are eligible to be backed up.

FYI, there are ways to tell what was backed-up. The log messages show how much was copied from each drive. The widget in #A1 of Time Machine - Troubleshooting displays the backup messages from your logs.
In addition, see #A2 there for a couple of apps that will show the details -- which files were backed-up.
Et voilà 2: When TimeMachine performed the next backup while the external drive was not connected, the hard links for the external data were created in that backup.
Double yay!
To my understanding, I don't understand why renaming the drive makes a difference if TimeMachine uses the UUID of the filesystem.
So I guess there must be a bug somewhere as "tmutil associatedisk" should fix the connection -- no matter what the drive name is.
There must be some other connection, some vestige of the name left over somewhere.
I filed a bug report to Apple! :-)

You need to be able to take information from the row in the table and use it to define the report you are going to. How I would do it is a) create a QBE report on the table.
b) Define the link to call a FORM you build based on a procedure, taking as parameter(s) the data from the row that defines the report you want.
c) In the procedure on which you based the linked to form, take the parameter and use it in some way to construct the name of the destination report and then
d) call this report from the procedure using dynamic PL/SQL and the constructed name.
e) If you don't want to see the actual form that is based on this procedure add the following code to the section '...after displaying the footer' of the PL/SQL code exits area:

How do I create a downloadable link from an Interactive PDF file created out of InDesign CS6?

Hello,
I created an Interactive PDF file out of InDesign and would like to make the large file a downloadable link and share it with the user in an email. I do not want to use DropBox or GoogleDrive.
The company I contract for has their own site - do I insert the file into the site or can I create a separate link for it?
I will be recreating these presentation PDF's constantly, so I would like to know if there is a simple way to create this link for files in the size of 7-12MB.
Any ideas on downloadable links? I do have flash - but rarely use, perhaps load the file out of flash?

How to create a Tab Link in the existing view

My requirement is to make one view as Tab Link.
You must have seen in many existing IC Web screens, there are multiple tabs in the view area and you can toggle between the views by clicking the tab links.
As per my requirement, in the component ICCMP_BT_INR, in one of the views i need to create a tab link for the view Questionnaire which is part of different component ICCMP_SURVEY

I quite certain that you can do this but it is lot of work. You need to create navigations links in run time repository, create plugs, create viewset with views. And then mostly important you need to call appropriate plugs, navigations. I am afraid I can not explain every thing step by step but definitely it requires lot of details and work.
However if you can see some existing examples then you will get an idea. One good example I have worked on is IUICMIO_MAIN and IUICMIO_METER. In this when MIO_ACCOUNT is called in MAIN, it will call two tabs from IUICMIO_METER dynamically.

Can I make a web link for Imported PDF forms?

I imported a PDF form onto formscentral. When I click the distribute tab I do not get the same options as if I created the form on formscentral. Can I create a web link for my imported PDF form?

Hi;
No, the Import PDF feature allows you to save a new version of your PDF form that has a "Submit" button that submits the data back to FormsCentral which is available for you to view, analyze and manage on the View Responses tab. It does not provide a "web" version of the form.
In order to make the PDF form available online you will want to create a link to download the PDF and instruct users to fill it out using the free Adobe Reader (or Acrobat), you do not want to allow the PDF to be opened inside of a web browser as that will not work for most users. [CS3] Custom Data Links for InCopy story

Hi,
I want to create custom data links for InCopy story.
I am retrieving incopy story from the database and importing it on the document. I have created custom data link as shown in the samples but if I open the indesign document in InCopy I get message - no incopy story found - galley and story view are not avaiable.
Also when I import InCopy file it is also added in Assignment Panel. I want to handle check-in/check-out on my own.
Is there any special thing for creating InCopy Data Links ?
