Creating a title for RSS feeds

Hello-
I have a podcast and have made a website for it using iWeb. I went to iTunes to submit my podcast, but later found out that my RSS feed for my podcast has no title in the blue section at the top of the screen.
How do I create a title for an RSS feed (it should be the same whether or not it's a blog or a podcast) using iWeb '08? By title, I mean the words in the blue bar at the top of any RSS feed. My website is http://web.mac.com/rafaelsands/GreatCommercials_Podcast/Great_Commercials_Podcast/Great_CommercialsPodcast.html and the RSS feed is feed://web.mac.com/rafaelsands/GreatCommercials_Podcast/Great_CommercialsPodcast/rss.xml
Besides no title in the blue bar, I also noticed there is no source link on the right hand side.
All help is appreciated. Thank you,
Rafael Sands

I am having the exact same problems, any help or ideas would be very much appreciated.

  • Why is it when i create a title for FCPX it looks blurry?

why is it when i create a title for FCPX it looks blurry when i create it using a 1920 x 1080 setting?
it looks clearer when i use 720hd but its not as crips as i would like or expect.

It's just the approximation created for the Viewer.  The Viewer is not the end all of your image quality.  Render it, export it, what does it look like at 100% (no larger) viewing?
Also, be sure you size text with the Font Size control, not the Scale control.

  • [U8.1][Xaml] Different Layout for RSS Feed items.

    Hi everyone,
I created a simple RSS Feed reader using App Studio, and now I`m modifying it to my needs on Visual Studio. Its awesome!
Now I would like the items of my RSS Feed source to have a different layout from each other based on the Author or Date the feed item was fetched. I think that it could be done using some conditionals but I don't exactly know how.
If anyone could help me with that, that would be awesome.
Keep in mind that I have just started playing around with app development on Windows and try to be as clear as you can on your instructions.
    Kind Regards.

What code do you have for the source items? I assume it is some type of ItemsControl (ListView, GridView, etc.) and you can set the
ItemsTemplateSelector to choose between different layouts based on the bound object's Author and Date. See the
    DataTemplateSelector class documentation and the
How to group items in a list or grid page: the ItemsTemplateSelector works essentially the same as the GroupTemplateSelector demonstrated in that article.
If you want to know if and how this can be done within App Studio please check in the App Studio forum.

  • Safari vs. Mail for RSS feeds?

From reading Mac Help, I see you can use both Safari or Mail for reading RSS feeds.
As I understand it, the advantage of using Safari is that you have to use Safari anyway to subscribe to and actually read the full articles, so it would seem to make more sense just to use Safari.
However, the advantage of creating a special RSS feeds mailbox in Mail is that you can have all the feeds from multiple blogs appear in a single mailbox as they are posted, instead of having to load up the feeds for each site separately in Safari.
    Is this correct? Thanks.

    Correct.
I prefer to use Mail to manage, and if/when I want more, I follow the link via Safari.

  • How can I create a Title for the worksheet in Discoverer Plus

    Dear members,
I am using discoverer 4i Plus to create workbooks. I am not finding an option to insert a title for the worksheet. In Discoverer Desktop we have a separate option to insert or edit a title. I am not sure how can we create titles in Plus.
    Any suggestions.
    Thanks
    Sandeep

    Hi,
I am not able to login to Discoverer Desktop Using my Applications username. My Desktop Version is 4.1.37. The same username works in Discoverer 4i Plus and i can create workbook there.
I went to Tools--->Options--->Connections and checked the option connect to both standard and application EUL's and while i am logging in i checked the small box which comes in the login screen. I do not know why this happening.
I am also able to login as the database user in Desktop but not as an application user.
I want to login into desktop as an application user and create a template workbook which has title and then assign that workbook to a particular responsibility since creating title cannot be done in Plus.
I am not sure what's going wrong here because the Desktop works for database user but not for an application user. Any comments are highly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Address Book Photo for RSS Feeds, in Mail?

    Hi,
Does anybody know how to get an image to show up for an RSS feed instead of the square box with a silhouette of a person?
I really the new Apple Mail feature that places a photo of the sender in the mail message pane list. It works great for email. Can I get this to work for my RSS feeds, too? Ideally, Apple Mail would just use the logo, if one is designated, in the RSS feed itself, which many feeds have.
    Thanks,
    ohioguy1978

I'm getting the same behavior in 10.5.1 with Mail 3.1.

  • Safari mangles url for rss feed

I have a local test 'domain' on my 10.4.11 system. That domain name is cvwa without any dots. This has the ip address of localhost and/or the ip address of the internal network (like 10.0.0.8). Urls like http://cvwa/default.shtml work perfectly on both Safari and on Firefox. However, if I use http://cvwa/tryrss.xml, Safari first, briefly shows feed://cvwa/tryrss.xml (as it should) but then immediately changes to http://tryrss.xml/ which, of course does not exist. Firefox has no trouble with it and correctly handles the feed. Further, if I put the same xml file on the outside with a complete domain name like www.cvwa.org, then both Safari and Firefox correctly deal with the feed. Is Safari broken or am I doing something bad? The test feed is http://www.cvwa.org/tryrss.xml if you think the xml is at fault.
I have turned proxies off completely for this test but it is the same on or off.
10.4.11, Safari 3.1 (but behaved the same just before the recent update to Safari)

Go to your blog and click on the RSS button in the URL window of Safari to view the rss feed.  Then copy the RSS feed page's URL from the URL field at the top.

  • Album tag for rss feed?

Hi there, I'm quite new to RSS feeds and was wondering if anyone could tell me the itunes tag to change what appears in the "album" field when a podcast is downloaded. Or if anyone knew of a complete list of all tags that are available -- I've already checked the Apple spec page.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Sorry, I've been away for a long time and it seems all my "newly added material" to posts has been reset.
If you're doing a podcast, true, iTMS overwrites the Album tag with the name of the podcast album, and the Genre tag with "podcast."
The other tags remain the same.
I don't like it either, since we do different series within our podcast, and would like to give each series an "Album" name. I can understand why Apple does it the way they do, though, it reflects where the episode comes from.
You may wish to send feedback to Apple about it here:

  • Computer storage for rss feed / podcast?

Can you use your computer storage say a external hard drive as your podcast storage? Instead of using a website?
If so, how do you get a RSS feed to make it all come together?
Basically you use your computer as the storage & host.

It is technically posssible to do this by setting your computer up as a web server. However I don't recommend this. Firstly, it's quite a technical process on which I can't advise (and as you have Windows you won't get advice on it in these forums).
Secondly your computer has to be running all the time. Thirdly you must have a permanent IP number - many ISPs change it from time to time precisely to prevent you from doing this because of bandwidth considerations, or charge extra for it.
Thirdly most ISPs provide a much lower upload speed than download speed, which could make your episodes very slow to load.
Fourthly this could consume considerable bandwidth and if you have any sort of cap on it you could hit it quite quicky.
And finally your ISP may very well not allow this, so you need to check with them as if they don't you are likely to be disconnected in short order.

When I check the feedvalidator link I see "Congratulations!
    This is a
valid RSS feed." (I don't see the warning anymore) so I think
    the
validator might have a problem and not your feed.

  • Mail 5.2 keeps asking for RSS Feed

For the past couple of days, Mail has been asking me on a regular basis to "Specify the URL for a feed". When this happens, mail steals focus and presents me with this dialog box:
I've no idea why this is happening as I've never used Mail as an RSS reader. I checked the sidebar and found 3 feeds (the Apple Hot News plus two others including the one listed in the dialog box) which I must somehow have added accidentally in the past. I've deleted all the RSS feeds so there's no longer an RSS category in the sidebar, but every so often, up pops mail with this same request.
I've gone into Mail Preferences, set Default RSS Reader to "Safari" and Check for Updates to "Manually" but I'm still getting the request.
I can't work out what has changed to trigger this behaviour.
    How do I stop it?

Safari 6.0 no longer supports RSS.  Mail is trying to take over RSS duties.  Mountain Lion drops RSS feeds entirely, including Mail.

  • Safari keeps asking for Name and Password for RSS feed

Safari version 4.0 (4530.17) keeps popping up a window asking me to "Enter you Name and Password to update the RSS feed". the message continues - " To update the RSS feed "http://mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom", you need to log in to the area "New mail feed" on mail.google.com. Your password will be sent in clear text".
This only started after the last Safari software upgrade a few weeks ago.
What is this? I did not sign up for any RSS feed. I keep selecting Cancel but it pops up every few minutes when Safari is open.

Try removing all the preference files for Acrobat, see my list in Re: Acrobat 9 Pro requires admin password every time it opens?.

  • App rejected for rss feeds?

My app has been rejected for using rss feeds, Apple says " We found that your app contains features that may infringe on rights owned by Various News Stations, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines".
My app allows user to select location and or topics and then displays RSS feeds from relevant publications (newspapers, magazines, TV News stations).
Does anyone have experience of this? There are dozens of rss readers out there, including many that pull from news sources. I find it hard to believe that everyone has the "documentary evidence that you have the rights to use this content" which apple is asking me for.
Does it make a difference if you link to their website as well as display the feed itself? Seems crazy since I thought hyperlinking was what the internet was all about.
    Any advice gratefully received.
    Thanks
    Martin

Law in this area is still in development. Originally, linking and reposting was perfectly fine. Now, people are getting sensitive about it. Your feed could conceiveabley violate the terms of use for a web site by removing ads from the feeds, for example. The "Wild West" days of the internet are coming to an end.
Apple isn't saying you can't use feeds, you just need to prove you have rights to them. Contact the sites you want to use and ask.
