Creating a transfer in Fixed Assets addon

My fiscal year is 01-Nov-2009 to 31-Oct-2010. My asset has acquisition date 01-Nov-2009.
According to SAP help, you cannot book a transfer for an asset that was acquired in the current year. "If you want to book a transfer for an asset that was acquired in the current year, you have to create a new asset and change the acquisition date of this asset to last year".
Therefore, I created a new asset by duplicating an old one which had acquisition date 01-Nov-2009. I now want to change the acquisition date to 31-Oct-2009 for my new asset. How do I do this?

Created a new one since nobody was able to answer this.

The BFFramework.dll error message has been known to occur intermittently for some installations. The Add Ons seem to get 'confused', especially after an upgrade.
The steps provided below should resolve the issue:
    1. Uninstall the Add On
    2. Delete the 2005 SP1 version records for Addon Framework and Fixed Assets in BFEXTDBVERSION
    Goto:
Business One -> Tools -> User Tables -> BFEXTDBVERSION

    3. Logout of Business One
    4.Goto C:\WINDOWS\system32 (for WinXP) or C:\WINNT\system32 (for Win2000)and delete the following files: BFFramework.dll, BFLogger.dll and BFLogger.tlb

    Hi,
Actually they are not going to standard reports as Revaluation amount we are creating User defined fields and that needs to be fetched to the report. As well they want original cost, depreciation original cost, Revaluation amount and depreciation on revaluation separately..
As per my understand system will provide one cost and the depreciation on that.
So, can somebody help me in guiding me..
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,

  • Standard report to check total cost (WIP) or before transfer to fixed asset

    Hi All,
Is there any standard report to check total cost work in progress (WIP) or cost before we transfer to FXA (fixed asset)
    Please advice.
    Thank you.
    Nies

    Hi,
You can use the report RKA_SETTLE_TABLES_COMPARE for finding the WIP awaiting settlement. You need tp pass object number for executing this report. For getting the object number, you can use report:RKACSHOW.
If useful, please close the posting.

  • Fixed assets addon - question about items...

    Hi,
Does an asset item has necessarily to be inventoried ?? If so, this is not logical to see them in the Audit Report.... what do you think about that ?
    thanks,
    Luce

    Hi Luce,
Stock Audit report is for all stock items which can be found in 'Inventory-> Item Master Data' in the company.
When you define a new fixed asset in fixed assets module,  Financials -> Fixed Assets -> Fixed Asset Master Data, the fixed assets will not be shown in stock audit report because the asset is not a item in item master data.
When you define a assets class from Administration ->Setup -> Fixed Assets -> Define Asset Classes, the asset classes are defined as items and appear in the item master data. Consequently, some items in your system represent asset classes. Using items enables Fixed Assets to be integrated easily with the Purchasing and Sales modules in subsequent versions of Fixed Assets. This integration means that you can, for example, purchase assets using the purchase order and incoming invoice processes.
If you manage the fixed assets on assets level, not classes level, there will be no stock transactions for these assets classes and the assets classes will not be shown in stock audit report.
On the other hand, if you make some stock transaction on these assets classes in Business One core module, the assets classes will be shown in stock audit report.
I hope this anwsers your question.

  • Knowledge required for Fixed Asset Addon

    Dear Experts,
Please help advice or confirm on the following.
    1. In SBO, there is Posting Periods, in FA, there is Fiscal Year. Is it true that whenever you create a Posting Period in SBO, the equivalent will also be created in FA's Fiscal Year list?
    2. What is the impact if our setting for FA depreciation in Administration > System Initialization > Company Details > Depreciation Calculation is by "By Monthly Basis", and the Fiscal Year is set as 1 Fiscal Year instead of monthly.
    3. Can the Asset History Sheet be viewed with selection criteria from 1 Fiscal Year to another Fiscal Year? or can it be viewed only for 1 Fiscal Year at a time.
Much Thanks in Advance for your advice!
    Warmest Regards,
    Chinho

    Dear Jimmy,
    Thanks for your reply.
To answer my own question after a conversation with SAP Support:
    1. In SBO, there is Posting Periods, in FA, there is Fiscal Year. Is it true that whenever you create a Posting Period in SBO, the equivalent will also be created in FA's Fiscal Year list?
    >> Yes, whenever Fiscal year is created in SAP, Fiscal year in FA is also created automatically. However, take note that if you update Fiscal year in SAP, Fiscal year in FA will not be updated. And if this update happens, we will have to raise a support ticket to ask SAP to fix database.
    2. What is the impact if our setting for FA depreciation in Administration > System Initialization > Company Details > Depreciation Calculation is by "By Monthly Basis", and the Fiscal Year is set as 1 Fiscal Year instead of monthly.
    >> If the Fiscal year type is by "Year", then the FA Fiscal year type will also be by "Year". Therefore, a setting of depreciation calculation "By Monthly Basis" will render the depreciation value not be correctly updated.
    3. Can the Asset History Sheet be viewed with selection criteria from 1 Fiscal Year to another Fiscal Year? or can it be viewed only for 1 Fiscal Year at a time.
    >> To view Asset History from 1 fiscal year to another fiscal year. Make sure the Fiscal years' status which you wish to view must be set to "Active".
    Much Thanks!
    Warmest Regards,

  • Mass Transfer of Fixed Assets through Backend

    Hi All,
I would like to know how Mass Transaction Number in the Mass Transfer Form gets generated...can it be done similarly through submitting request from backend...
I have observed that when we press the preview button on the Mass Transfers form it generates with the sequence of Mass transfer id and gets populated into the FA_MASS_TRANSFERS table...
Can we acheive this through the backend?

Actually, all I want to know is how the FA_MASS_TRANSFERS is being updated/inserted...If any one could answer this question I guess I can take it from there..I looked everywhere the form and also the report could not find a clue..

  • Transfer of a fixed asset to a WBS

    Hello Everybody ,
    I need your help.
A new scenario has come over here and i am not getting how to implement it in
    SAP .
    Scenario is :
    1. We have a fixed asset at cost center .
    2. Now the asset is need to be replaced .
    3. We settled new asset at that cost center .
    4. Old asset needs to be used in a project.
    Problem is :
Client is required that old asset that was replaced, should be transferred to a new  project or WBS where the asset final cost
(including depreciation) should consume the budget from the WBS .
    Example:
Asset cost along with depreciation is say Rs 50000.
We transferred an Asset to a new WBS where budget is defined 80000.
So as asset gets transferred , remaining WBS budget value should be 80000 - 50000 = 30000 means old asset value should get expensed by WBS .
Then later on we can settle the asset along with the AUC of WBS.
    Conclusion:
We need to transfer an fixed asset that is not in anymore used in that defined cost center and need to be replaced and after replacement it should get transferred to a WBS where WBS budget value would be reduced equal to asset value along with depreciation and later on we could transfer it to a cost center where asset is required.
    Thanks,
    Jagjeet Sandhu

    Hi Sunil.
Thanks for your valuable response .
    But issue is bit different
    Scenario is :
We dont have to make asset as an scrap.
    Ex:
We have to take the same asset to another WBS without making scrap and the current asset value should be expensed from the defined WBS budget .
How the asset at cost centre would be transferred to WBS and should be capitalised again at new WBS .
    Kindly share the procedure .
    Thanks & Regards

  • Purchase Order and Fixed Asset Module.

    Hi all,
I want to print my purchase order of fixed asset for record purposes.  But the thing, I can't link purchase order or any of A/P documents to my fixed asset.
Meaning, if A/P invoice has been added into the system, it will not update my fixed asset master data.
Therefore, I have to use PO for printing, since there's no way to print Fixed Acquisition as a document. By doing this, i need to maintain both Item Master Data and Fixed Asset Master Data with Fixed Asset items, which i find tedious.
Is there a solution for this, like perhaps there's a way to copy info from PO to FA acquisition, or Posted A/P Invoice that contains Fixed Asset item will be linked to FA Acquisition, or perhaps there's a way to print FA Acquisition (like a PLD) that i am not aware of?
    Please do help.
    Thanks upfront!

    Hi Kevin,
I am afraid to inform you that the print layout function is not
supported for Fixed asset transactions such as acquisition.
As you mentioned, if you want to use it as PO document, you will need to create PO in business one since no integration is realized between Purchasing in business one and acquisition in Fixed asset addon.
If you think this will have critical impact on your business process, please post your requirement in our SAP Business One Product Development Collaboration.

  • SAP B1 Fixed Assets query

    Good Morning,
Could someone please comment on whether the SAP B1 fixed assets add-on would accommodate the following two issues, which one of our Accountants has requested?
    (1)     We are introducing a restoration provision policy that creates a restoration asset and could increase/ decrease the book value of this asset on a yearly basis.  I am looking into the practical issues of booking this and whether the SAP fixed asset register can cope with regular changes in the value of a restoration asset (both up/down).
    (2)     Adding in terminal/residual values for existing assets.
    Thankyou,
    regards
    Kelly

    Hi Kelly
This response may be a little late, but I hope it helps.
The SAP Fixed Assets add-on is very thin, not very deep, and very European (both vernacular and accounting).  For some US clients, it may not work because of shortcomings with GAAP and/or Federal Tax compliance.  I have known this for several years.
SAP asked me to develop a full-featured Fixed Assets addon several years ago.  I have been in the Fixed Assets commercial software business for over 30 years, and developed the solution now offered by Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains).  Our SAP Business One add-on product is now available for both Versions 2007 and 8.8.  It is written using the SAP Business One SDK, so it integrates fully with SAP Business One and has the same look-and-feel.
From a function-feature perspective, it is desinged to exceed the accounting functionality of mid-market products such as FAS (from Sage), QBE, and even Dynamics GP.  It also provides considerable capabilities for managing Assets (Maintenance Contracts and Service Requets, Lease Accounting and Tracking, Physical Inventory, Custodial Control, Component Assets, Property Tax, etc.).
The respondant in February was correct - with the SAP addon you can do what you asked, but you have to jump through a hoop to do it.  With our B1-FAM addon, you not only can do the things you need, and do them in a very straightforward manner, but will have choices reagrding the best way to do them.  Plus, you wil have a comprehensive solution that works as it is supposed to in the US.
Feel free to vist our website at www.B1FixedAssets.com.
    Best of luck
    Joe Lewis
