Creating a User Group to publish to all devices in BES... can it be done?
I want to be able to create a contact group to send a text message to all members. I see where I can manually add a group in my BB device and add contacts. Can I do the same from the BES Manager and deploy to all devices. There is an option to create groups, but will it sync or be available to the device on a lookup?
Unfortunately, the devices do not sync to the mail system (Groupwise) address book. There are some customized ways to do this, but nothing that is supported by RIM and Novell.

I am trying to simply replicate a peice of text in photoshop so that it is pixel by pixel exactly the same as what I would see in a webbrowser with some text from a css/html based webpage.
Sorry, you can't (without copying text from a browser).
Part of the problem is that every browser renders text differently.
And part of it is that many browsers currently render with an anti-aliasing style that Photoshop doesn't support (color edges).
Then there's the lack of kerning in browsers and ....
We've been thinking about how to replicate browser font rendering, but it's not nearly as easy as it sounds.

Then Generate the Infoset
Now Assign the infoset to user group
Now goto SQ01 and Click on Other user group Button and choose Ur user Group.
Then in the USer group select Ur Infoset and then create Ur own Query and save this.
Now select the infoset query and goto More functions under Query menu and Generate report name.
Now Create a transaction code for the report name generated.
Now use the Tcode.
Hope U have got the basic idea of creating Queries.

Migration Assit , PC to MAC - The migration was successful, but I don't know where the files are. It says they're under a different user, 'owner' . I tried to access via sys pref/system/users&groups, but it asks for a password for owner which I don't have. What must I do to access my files?

Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu. Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow instructions in the dialog window that will appear.

The guides all say when using the iCloud photos are shared across all devices. Why can't I see my photos from my iPhone on my iPad when it settings on both devices the iCloud for photos is on?
When you enable Photo Stream on your devices, only new photos you take or import to those devices will be automatically added to your Photo Stream. Existing photos won't.

I have 3 systems - 2 were 9.x (AS10g R1) upgraded to 10.x (AS10g R2), 1 was installed as 10.x. On the two upgraded systems, after a Portal user logs in (with administration privileges), navigates to the "Administration" tab and clicks either the "Create New User", "Modify User", "Create New Group" or "Modify Group" links, they are prompted for a username and password again. On the system installed with 10.x, this does not happen. Submitted iTar was unresolved. Has anyone seen this before?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

Here you specify the users who should be authorized to run the query. A user group is always associated with a Functional Area.
Go to the menu path Environment => User Group. Give a user group name in the screen that comes next.
Specify the sap logins of the users whom you want to authorize for using the functional area and click on the Create button.
Use the menu path Assign Functional Area to assign the functional area to the user group.
Save the user group and back out of the screen by clicking the Back button.
Note: One user group can be assigned to any number of functional areas with logical database or without logical database.
The final step is to create the actual query.

I am logged in as authenticated user,in workgroup manager, and am trying to create a new group so I can restrict VPN access to the users I would add to this group.
Can't see a 'new group' button. There are already 3 groups, staff, admin and 1 other.

Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
Please login on other well worked Lync client from other computer with your Lync account to test the issue.
Please also use another well worked Lync account login your Lync client and test the issue.
You can disable your Lync account from Lync Server Control Panel and clear all SIP related information from AD, then re-enable your Lync account from Lync Server Control Panel to have a try.

How do I create a login "user group" in Tiger.
I'm trying to create a login user group and assign individual users to that group for permission privileges.
ThxThe easiest way to set Groups, Users, Rights etc, is with Sharepoints...

How to create a JavaMe library that runs on all devices?
I have the Java ME 3.0 SDK. If I start a Java ME project (Midlet) I have to choose a device that I'm developing for. While I want to create an 'Engine' library that runs on any device. This library won't use any device specific libraries. So if I make different midlets for different devices they can all use the same generic 'Engine' library.
I've googled a lot on this already and did quite some reading in the documentation of Java ME but didn't find any info on how to do this. I found a way to convert Java projects to midlets with the J2ME plugin for eclipse, but then I'd have to reconvert my Engine project to midlets for every device I want to support every time I make a change in the code of my 'Engine' library.

Retrieving User groups and email for all users in a group
Hi Everyone,
I need to create an ADF application to retrieve all the groups in OID, the user would select a group and it should list down all the email addresses in that group.
Can you suggest what is the best way to achieve this. My main concern is how to retrieve groups and email addresses from OID. I was unable to find APIs for it.

Is there a way that administrator install the extension and make this extension available for other users in multi-user environment(e.g. the Windows 7)
Dreamweaver had this capability many releases ago, but it has been dropped, so it's no longer available.

How to ensure the SSID matches in prod/dev when creating native users/group
I am running into trouble when I migrate business rules projects-I lose any security assigned to native groups because the SSID in the open LDAP in DEV for that group is different from the SSID in PROD for that group. Is there any way to sync them up now?
Also, for any new groups we create, how do I create them in both environments with the same SSID? I know I can create the group in PROD and use cssimportexport to create the group in DEV, but they end up with different SSIDs

V 9.2.1 using Active Directory and Native DirectoryWe are using 9.3.1 so I don't know if this switch is available.
I export the prod ss security with the following switches which gets me all my native groups with sids, and the children of those groups.
export.internal.identities=true
export.provisioning.all=true
export.delegated.lists=false
export.user.filter=none@Native Directory
I hack the file to remove anthing I don't want and then use the import utility to import it twice. First with a properties file that does a delete.
import.operation=delete
The first run fails right after it deletes the native groups I think because deleting the group deletes the children.
The second properties file has this switch
import.operation=create/update
After this is complete you can have DBA do a schema export/import to the target environment. After bouncing planning in the target environment you go in and update the application settings to have the correct shared services server and re-register with shared services. A "Migrate Identities" ensures that you are in synch. The planning security should still be in place on all objects that had security.

WebDAV didn't create 'www' user & group, should I create them manually?
According to the manual this should happen automatically when WebDAV is activated. Should I just go ahead and create the www user and group in Workgroup Manager?
Drop to the shell (launch Terminal.app) and issue the command +id www+ and see if you get a response akin to +uid=70(_www) gid=70(_www) ...+ or if you get a +no such user+ diagnostic.
If the former, the user is created. If latter, whoops, problem.
WGM can show these identifiers if set appropriately, but it doesn't show these (by default) below some value.
(IIRC, users with UIDs below 500 are hidden? It's changed once or twice over the years, and you can look it up as easily as I can.) -
Hi everyobdy. Mac Newbie here.
I have migrated my files from my old windows laptop to Macbook Pro using the Migration assistant.
All seemed to work Ok, but it appears I have also migrated my old user profile. My Mac now has two users, one has the files, one doesn't.
Do I need to delete a user, or can I combine the two? If so, how?

SteveI would suggest logging in to the user account that has the files and deleting the one that doesn't. You can change your visible username later if you don't like the old one.
As to why such a thing would happen, i don't know.
