    Steps to follow to create WAD in WEB Template in 3.5 or 7.0 u2026u2026..
    Go to All programs and select your web application designer
    Select the button to create a new page in WAD
    Select the chart and place in the layout
    Next goto Data provider Target and select your query
    Give your report name in the given data provider screen
    Select your query in History/find/Favourites/Infoareas button
    Select your query in this screen and click OPEN
    Now we can see the data provider is assigned to the chart.
    To edit the chart you have to right click on the chart
    After right click on it we will find another screen where we can edit all the settings
    In this screen we can find NEXT click button to change our settings
    In this screen we can state the tasks (Title, units, values, range)
    In this screen we can change our background /validity/color
    In this screen we can add values to the chart
    In this screen we can add validity/positions/order/axis types to the chart
    In this screen we can change the global settings/and overview of the chart.
    This screen shows that we have customized the chart successfully
    After successful creation of the chart we have to save the chart
    Save your chart in your favorites by giving the description and technical name in the given block.
    Now execute your WAD by selecting the execute button
    The BEx Web Application Designer is a desktop application for creating Web applications with BW-specific contents. Using the BEx Web Application Designer, you can create an HTML page that contains contents such as various tables, charts or maps. This HTML page (Web application) provides the basis for not only Web applications with complex interaction, but also for Web cockpits and iViews.

  • Creating a WebI template

    Hello,
    I'm wondering if it is possible to create WebI templates in BO 3.1... I know that it was possible to create them in BO R2, but I cannot find the documentation...
    Any ideas? Do you know where that documentation is? Do you know if it will be the same for 3.1?
    Many thanks,
    Bea

    Hi Beatriz,
    I think inserting an image into the report header from .xml is not possible however we can insert an image into the roprts as Skin from .xml file .
    Below are the stteps to implement this into the BO reoprts.
    Here are the steps for an Internet Information Services (IIS) .NET deployment:
    1.     Add the .jpg or .gif to the images directory: <installation drive>\Program files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5 \Images
    This step must be completed on the server that hosts the Web Intelligence Report Server.
    2.     Create a backup copy of the defaultConfig.xml file located in the <installation drive>\Tomcat55\webapps\AnalyticalReporting\webiApplet\AppletConfig\
    3.     Open the defaultConfig.xml file.
    4.     Search for this section:
    <!-- Settings Default Skins background per report element type -->
    5.     Add the following case-sensitive lines:
    <KEY VALUE="cell_skinXX,report_skinXX,section_skinXX,bloc_skinXX">
    <SKIN NAME="Skin_name" TYPE="tile">
    boimg://File_name.jpg
    </SKIN>
    </KEY>
    6.     Save the file. Close all browsers.
    7.     Restart IIS.
    Here are the steps for a Java deployment using Tomcat:
    1.     Add the .jpg or .gif to the images directory: <installation drive>\Program files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0 \Images
    This step must be completed on the server that hosts the Web Intelligence Report Server.
    2.     Create a backup copy of the defaultConfig.xml file located in the <installation drive>
    Tomcat55\webapps\AnalyticalReporting\webiApplet\AppletConfig\.
    3.     Open the defaultConfig.xml file.
    4.     Search for the following section:
    <!-- Settings Default Skins background per report element type -->
    5.     Add the following case-sensitive lines:
    <KEY VALUE="cell_skinXX,report_skinXX,section_skinXX,bloc_skinXX">
    <SKIN NAME="Skin_name" TYPE="tile">
    boimg://File_name.jpg
    </SKIN>
    </KEY>
    6.     Save the file. Close all browsers.
    7.     Restart Tomcat.
    NOTE     The XX identifier is the incremental number for each added image.
    The Skin_name identifier is the name to appear in the pick list.
    The File_name identifier is the name of the file in the images directory.
    Hope this helps.

  • BEx WAD - Creating a Web Template with Chart and Table

    Hi All.

  • Use web template to open a report from a menu

    Hi all,
    I have created one web template where I have a role menu that shows all reports that are available to the user. When the user clicks on one of these reports, the report displays in a new window. So far everything is working fine.
    But, I have also created another web template and I want the report that is displayed in a new window to use this template. How do I do this? I have been looking at the settings for the Role menu, but can't find anywhere to put the template name...
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks and regards,
    Tove-Mette

    Hello,
    yes you can use the publish function, but only to add new entries.
    In Transaction pfcg (not in WAD or BEx) in SAP GUI and then select your role at the tab "Menu" you can add/remove/maintain/organize your menu.
    just click on a menu entry and take sth.like edit.
    Then you will see a link if you didn#t find the string &template_id= the system will take the standard template (Tranaction spro), and you can easily add or change this parameter.
    Hope that helps, please ask if you need further explanation.
    Regards

  • Regarding upgrade of web report\web templates functionalites BW 3.5-BI 7.0

    hi all,
             I m working on a Upgrade study from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 for Web Templates,web items and java scripts.
    Below is the scenario of the client system:
    New web templates are created from the 6 master web templates available for publishing to a custom Portal (created using BSP and hosted on the WAS). TOOLBAR and FOOTER are custom web templates used in all Master Templates and contain various JavaScript functions and footer code respectively.
    TOOLBAR provides the Toolbar, header and buttons functionalities in the Master Templates via the contained Javascript functions. FOOTER displays the date and time of issue as well the logged in user.
    FOOTER1 and FOOTER2 are web items derived from FOOTER web template. They have different set of web item properties and are used to create web templates used through the custom Portal.
    It is observed from BW Tables that out of 100 unique Web Templates available in the system, 90 are using TOOLBAR template and 95 are using FOOTER template.
    No external Javascript .js files are used in the Web templates. Most of the Javascript functionality is contained in TOOLBAR and no other custom javascript in master templates. However, there are some derived web templates where custom javascript is contained.
    Following is the process to create custom Web Templates in development server that are eventually transported to QA and Production:
    1)     The appropriate master template is identified and saved with new name in developer role.
    2)     Dataprovider is added to corresponding web items.
    3)     From the library, properties are transferred from master template to the custom template.
    4)     Report title is added in HTML tab.
    5)     No changes are needed in the Web Templates Properties except change of value in  “Show Jump Target in” field to the portal Frame ConPortal or _self in case RRI is to be used.
    6)     Some properties like Title, Width in Pixel, Affected Data Provider, etc. needs to be adjusted. Changes can be done to web items seen in Overview tab except the FOOTER and TOOLBAR web items. These web items are saved as reusable components in Library.
    7)     After all the changes the web template created is transported from development server.
    To summarize, all master data for creation of web templates like reusable master templates, web items in library, web templates containing Javascript code are stored in dev. server. Custom web templates created from these are transported.
    I want to validate the sequence of migration as below:
    Following sequence has to be followed for the Web Templates and Queries Migration in development BI 7.0 Server:
    1)     Migrate the Individual BEx Queries first and perform functional testing.
    2)     Migrate the TOOLBAR template manually (create as new in BI 7.0 Toolset) and FOOTER template automatically (using Migration Tool).
    3)     Manually migrate the JavaScript code in TOOLBAR. Please refer to section ..for more details.
    4)     Migrate the library of reusable web items, if any.
          (What to do if web item is custom or is not supported in BI 7.0)
    5)     Migrate the Master Web Templates manually (create as new in BI 7.0 Toolset) and automatically (wherever possible) and perform functional testing.
    6)     Migrate the custom web templates automatically (wherever possible) and manually, if automatic migration is not possible. Perform functional testing and data provider binding.
    7)     Perform jump target binding wherever applicable.
    8)     Transport custom templates, TOOLBAR and FOOTER to QA and Production subsequently.
    Also i have the following questions:
    1. How to migrate functionalities accessed thru web templates like jump queries, general navigation blocks with filter, table interface, and are data providers automatically linked to web items or have to be done manually post migration.
    2. Do we need to migrate the library of reusable web items also.
    3. After migrating the master  web templates and javascript containing templates to BI 7.0, can we migrate automatically the custom webtemplates derived from master templates and containing the custom javascript that is now avaialbe in BI 7.0, will they pick up the custom code automatically.
    thanks in advance
    Regards

  • Error in saving Web Templates

    I am currently seeing a problem in creating new Web Templates in Web Application Designer in SMD. The error occurs when a Web Template is newly created or when an existing Template is modified but clicking the OK button in the error dialog screen allows you to proceed with saving the template.
    Message Class      Message Number   Description
    RSBOLAP               014                     Transformer exception while transforming
                                                             BEx Web Templates
    RSWADMDERR1     090                     Java-Stack check found incorrectly
                                                             formatted templates
    Is there any known corrections/ implications in regards to this error? Thank you.

    Check and make sure BI and Portal connection is configured. Use note 917950 for  checking this.
    Also make sure you have the latest WAD SP level (Sp 12)

  • Dynamic Web Template Override in an  IView in the portal

    We have successfully copied and changed the default web template for displaying queries in the portal and it works fine.  We also use BI planning and would like to use a different template when a planning query is executed.  Does anyone know if there is a way to override the default template for a query on a case by case basis?   That is, when creating the web template IView, can an alternate web template somehow be specified in addition to the query or is there any exit that provides this type of control?

    Hi,
    sorry, this is no solution - but I can confirm the problem with anonymous service access. Maybe It is helping a little bit enclosing the problem.
    It occurs regardless of authentication mode of the accessed service from iView. It happens with all system objects (web services and other PCD Systems). This problem is regardless of the Web Service or system authentication method. For auth services we tried user mapping - but doesn't work like with non-auth. services.
    I can confirm that there are no problems running the same config with an authenticated portal user.
    Technicaly the anonymous user is a authenticated user too, (J2EE_GUEST). He is logged in automatically during portal access with the browser. It seems there is a restriction in handling the anonymous group.
    There is a other 4 week old thread on SDN, relating to the same problem (unsolved) "an XML element was malformed" error with anonymous user
    I keep looking for a solution.

    choose the radiobutton screen based application and enter the transaction code and hit enter.
    once the service is created, right click on the service name and click create Template, enter the program name (it will be defaulted from the transaction) screen number and hit save.

  • Parameter REPORT for the Report Web item in the Web template is empty or mi

    As DP_1 Type Query_view_Data_provider, I have assinged a Query Designer Query wich works fine, if I execute it as QDR.
    The entry Query_view_Data_provider makes sense for me, but what do I need to maintain for the type "Filter"?

  • ABAP Interface for Web Template Design

    Hi BW Gurus,
                         I have report published in the portal through BSP. Please some advise me what are the ABAP class files so that I can design my portal reports.
                         I am sure there are few class files where I can design the portal reports. Let me know your important help....
    Thanks
    Ganesh Reddy.

    Ganesh,
    CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE is used to customize the web templates in BW3.x.
    the way I understand the data flow to web templates work is :
    Query(s) --> Web Template class --> HTML --> <CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE - this class is optional >
    This works only for Web templates though - as for classes that are used in web templates - create a web template and then assign the same to a request - you will find the classes available under that request under PHIO or something like that.

  • Error when loading Web Template from Web Dynpro

    Hi Experts,
    I work on a BI ABAP server. I'm trying to integrate a BIApplicationFrame in my ABAP Web Dynpro application.
    First, I created a Web Template (named ZTPL_Z0AFSD_C01_Q0001) with Web Application Designer and I can run it from there. It works fine. The address looks like :
    http://pwdf2927.wdf.sap.corp:50300/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=ZTPL_Z0AFSD_C01_Q0001&DUMMY=2
    In my BIApplicationFrame in Web Dynpro, I give the server name (and port), the server type (ABAP) and the templateId (ZTPL_Z0AFSD_C01_Q0001). My application work and the BIFrame try to open the following address:
    http://usciq75.wdf.sap.corp:50010/SAP/BW/BEX?CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=ZTPL_Z0AFSD_C01_Q0001 ...
    I receive the error:
    Error loading template ZTPL_Z0AFSD_C01_Q0001
      Notification Number BRAIN 276
    So, it looks like that the server is found but my Web Template is unknown for Web Dynpro. Did I forgot a step after the creation of the Web Template that would 'activate' it and make it visible? Why the two Web Address looks so different?
    Thanks for your answer
    Davy

    Hi
    Check
    Re: JCO$Exception:  RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE in WAD Template
    Also make sure that you have installed 0ANALYSIS objects from Business Content->Object types -> BEx Web Template and choose all 0ANALYSIS objects and install the same.
    Hope this helps
