Im new to apple and to imovie...i just started editing a wedding video and i really liked the themes and trailers preset on imovie! but is that all the themes that come with imovie? or can you get a wed theme for imovie 11? please help me! thanks!

I don't know if anyone can help but we have our wedding video on cd. We would like to share with family but no one has disc drives (We have an iMac) . Is there an easy way to put onto a usb stick? Have tried just the drag and drop but that doesnt seem to wok.

If the wedding video is on DVD it would have to be converted to a Quicktime movie; if you have permission to copy the video from the person who created the video, (the person who created it owns the copyright) you can use MPEGStreamclip.

No iDVD
If there is no iDVD on Your Mac (and it's not on newer Macs as Apple discarded it) then You need a program that can do this.
Your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs - BUT DVD as Data-DVDs not as Video-DVDs - they need a program to be encoded and STRUCTURED as such.
• Burn - Very simple - Just for doing a plain Video-DVD

• iDVD is part of the boxed version of iLife'11 and can only be bought outside Apple as on Amazon and e-bay

Help! Wedding Video Emergency!

I just finished making some final additions to a wedding video that I have been working on for over a month. I sent it to iDVD and left the laptop on when I left for work so that my husband could burn it for me while I was gone.
I got a call at work saying that it was missing some files and couldn't burn. When I got home this morning and tried to pull up the iDVD project, it says, "missing clip 03.dv, missing clip 13.dv, and it keeps going..saying it is searching for the files and that the movie will not play properly without these files.
What happened? It was fine when I left it last night! What can I do to fix this? I have to somehow get this video to DVD for the bride and groom!

Yes, I think space is an issue. But this is kind of strange...I pulled up the individual movies (I've created each portion of the wedding as an individual movie (rehearsal dinner, pre-ceremony, reception, highlights montage, etc). When I pulled them up and then re-saved them, it seemed to be fine. I burned a copy and it appears that everything is back to normal now! I don't get it, but I'm happy about it! Thanks for your help. If I run into more problems, I may try your suggestions!

IE: to make the videos play consecutively in the order i want without stopping after each video and gong back to the list.... this is what i have had to resort to make it work....what i want to do....is be able to make a playlist of videos on my iphone 5....take my apple tv to friends houses and with wifi....set up apple tv and play videos at the party and not have to stand by with the remote and find a new video to play stopping the music between the songs/videos....very annoying....and have spent over 4 hours one day and an hour and a half today on the phone today with a sr. advisor with apple and they have no clue.... this seems sooooo simple.... please somebody that really knows how to do this....i will be indebted forever...............

Let's be clear on one thing here. The manual setting is an iPod setting, not an iTunes one. So, once you've set it to manual (and you appear to have done that correctly), then you can connect it to any number of computers without changing that setting.
"The grey thing occurs on one pc only"
This is the thing that I don't understand, if your iPod is set to manual, then it shouldn't happen on any computer. If you connect the iPod that is set to manual to this pc, and then click on it in the source listing, then you would be looking at the songs on the iPod, and they should not be greyed out. When you connect to the "other pc" under these same circumstances, they are not greyed out?

How do I create a complete video program for 6 hours of event video?

I have used Premiere Elements 13 to create 10 Projects of individual presentations recorded in HD during a 6 hour conference. The chair of the conference wants a complete video record that could be given to participants. The totality is too large for a DVD but might fit on a large flash drive to be given to the participants. Each Project is a record of an individual presentation. I know how to create the individual videos of each presentation with Premiere Elements 13 and I can create DVDs. Multiple DVDs seem like a logistical problem and not everyone has Blu-Ray. I would like to have a menu like a DVD to take the viewer to any one presentation or to start at the beginning. The final product does not need to be HD but should be as good as possible.
This seems beyond what Photoshop Elements can do. Is it? How do I create the finished product?

In Premiere Elements 13, the burn to products are the only end products with menus. The webDVD (flash file with menus)
has been discontinued in Premiere Elements 13.
How much of your HD source Timeline content can you fit on a DVD double layer single sided disc destined for DVD-VIDEO Widescreen on that DVD disc?
As a rough guess-estimate, when you have the disc in the burner tray, look at the burn dialog Quality area's Space Required and Bitrate just before you would hit Burn button in the burn dialog ("Fit Content to Available Space" with check mark next to it.)
The DVD double layer single sided disc is labelled 8.5 GB/240 minutes. In reality that 8.5 GB is 7.95 GB.

URGENT help needed in creating external xml video plalist. Please help!

I was given an assignment to create and external video playlist using an xml file. I have never used flash before, know nothing about encoding and all that was given to the class in terms of instuctions was a short tutorial that has no resources for troubleshooting. We were given everything; the external playlist file equipped with the video skin, the video list, actionscript that loads the xml and the xml file. We were told that all we need to do is change the names of the videos in the xml file to match the names of our videos. I did that. We were also told we needed to "name target", but we were not informed on how to do this. I have tried everything, visited every tutorial and I cannot figure out how to get this damn thing to work. I cannot even get flash to load the xml file. PLEASE HELP.

I tried placing the full address of the xml file in, along with the file address of the videos, but again it did nothing. Everything is located in the same file, and the videos in a sub file in that file. I tried taking out the sub file and putting all the videos in the same file, but it did nothing. I am sure it's something very simple, but like I said I have NO experience with this whatsoever. I am SO lost and DESPERATELY need help. PLEASE someone SAVE MEEEE!

It might be a crossdomain.xml problem.
Please make sure that the server hosting the xml allows the domain where the swf is hosted.

May have something to do with whether or not the URL can be reached while building your widget. I've got a video on the web. When I enter the URL into the field for the video object and click to another field, the URL is replaced with some text indicating that it is accessing the video then updates itself to displaying just the name of the video file.
It shows just fine in preview and I can see the full path to the video when I export the widget so it should work for you.
Is the video accessible from your Mac while you're laying out your widget?

How to create a long video only consisting of noise effect?

Hello,
this goal might seem strange, but the purpose is to fight a "burn-in" effect on a plasma tv.
The only way I found to apply the noise effect is to use an adjustment layer in combination
with a video file, but this limits the duration of the effect to the duration of the video and probably
leads to a composite of video and effect. Is there a way to create a long video only with the noise
effect?

Check the TV. Most plasmas will have this feature built-in. If by chance yours doesn't, you can pick up the Disney WOW: World of Wonder [Blu-ray] for about $30. It has such a test pattern (and you can calibrate the TV to boot).

Burning our wedding video to i DVD

I'm editing our wedding video which will be about 2 1/2 hours long. i usually export it as a quicktime movie which is great quality. i think a dvd will only hold 4.7 G of footage. I know this is going to be a lot more a high quality. how can i reduce the size of the video so it still has somewhat good quality and fit all of it on a dvd? i'm running FCP 4.5 HD on a G4. thanks

If you're looking for some extra advice rather than hearing the same thing x number of times, whatever you decide to do media/length-wise I would suggest you export from Final Cut using Compressor as an MPEG-2 VBR 2-pass (not to exceed 8.0 max) with .ac3 audio to achieve the best quality.
With your current length you might be able to squeeze it into one single-layer using a bit rate of about oh... I'd say 3.5/4.0 or so. You'll definitely loose quality with that bit-rate though...
The reason you want to export using Compressor is because MPEG-2 is the delivery codec used on DVD's. When you Export as a Quicktime (or any other format other than MPEG-2) and bring that into iDVD, DVDSP any other DVD authoring program, that DVD authoring program is going to compress the file to an MPEG-2 for DVD delivery. Some DVD authoring software compressors are decent, others are not so much - but Compressor is probably the most reliable within reason. And since you are gonna end up w/ an MPEG-2 sooner or later, there's really no point in exporting it as a Quicktime so that you can then compress it as an MPEG-2. Just do all of your exporting in one step with Compressor.
Export at night before you go to bed because I have a feeling it's gonna take a while for the compression. Man I love my Mac Pro!
