Go to Table T554S select your absence Type and check the maximum 999 and minimum duration it should be blank or 000

Actually I don't know how your system is configured.
However, the error you're receiving seems you have assigned the absence type to a quota type.
Please go to your counting rule and check whether Deduction rule - absence quotas - within entitlement field is filled.
If yes, get the deduction rule value and go to
SPRO Time man- Time data rec - Absences - Absence Cat - Abs counting - rules for counting (new) - deduction rules for abs quotas and check the quota type in here.
If there is a quota assignment in place, before creating an IT2001 you need to create a IT2006 for that specific time period.
Or, you need to delete the quota assignment via two config steps mentioned above.

Don't know if your question has been resolved, but check the leave cycle date types on IT0041 and IT0001 and IT0007 should all be aligned.

Error when creating absence quota IT2006

Hi all,
When entering leave request through ESS for this pernr, I am getting an error message which reads No quota available for this pernr.
But when I was creating absence quota IT2006 I got an error message 'No validity interval for key 1 50 10'.
If I bypass the message, even though I type some constant in the number field for any absence type, when saving(or when clicking the green colored tick mark) its getting defaulted to zero.
Is there any IMG configuration missing? Please provide some idea on this.

The guess the reason for the quotas being automatically assigned zero is that, these quotas would be defined in such a way that, they can only be generated and not input. Please refer to the table V_556A_B, and see what is being entered against the quota there. Enter it as No Generation for you to be able to enter quotas in the IT2006. If you have enabled the "No Generation" then you wouldn't be able to enter data in IT2006.
The reason for the error is that, you wouldn't have specified the date interval in which the Absence Type can be deducted. Please check that too.

Error msg in create absence quota during hiring.

Hi guys,
when i hire a new employee the create absence quota displays the following error.
"No validity interval for key 2 32 17"
i know that i need to add the new entry in the view Base Entitlement for Absence Quota Generation
(V_T559E)
my problem is that i dont know exactly what the key means
i think that is
2 is for Employee Subgroup Grouping for Time Quota Types
32 i dont have idea
17 the rule for QUOMO
any ideas?

Please check tabel V_T559D. Looks like this error was caused by no validity period setting.
2 is for employee subgroup (check table V_503_E)
32 is for personnel subareas (check table V_001P_I)
17 is for vacation quota type

Unable to get the list of Approvers in Create Absence

Hi folks ,
We upgraded our ERP system from 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.3. After upgrade , we tried creating an absence as part of testing on the R12.1.3. Entered all the neccessary details, moved to next page (Leave Application : Review ) and found that NO approvers are listed in the Approvers region.
Could any one please help us in fixing this issue.
This is an critical item for us , as this self service request is used widely in our daily by many users.
We would request your solution as soon as possible.

Yes I had a look on the function and process names. We were using a custom proc name and the same has been inherited to the upgraded instance too.
I compared URL parameters of the Current 11i ( production , in which it is working fine ) and the R12.
Both are using the same Proc name and Function name.
Do I need with any AME setup changes for this particular workflow request ?
FYI : All other self service request are able to get the approvers list excpet Create Absence.

Error while creating absence

Hi,
I have a user that is supposed to join company on future date: 15-07-2010... The record has been succesfully created in Oracle HRMS but when i try to create an absence (HR Manager -> Absence) for the user from 15-07-2010 to 30-07-2010 i get this error message:
ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-06512: at "APPS.HR_PERSON_ABSENCE_API", line 876
FRM-40735: ON-INSERT trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-01403.
Can anyone tell what could be the problem? Can I create an absence for future dated user (i think it shoul be possible)?

If in the absence form, you have date tracked to the future date and entered Absence which is not of Sickness type, then you should be able to enter the absence.
1. Make sure the Element link for Absence Element created is valid for the employee.
2. Absence Category is not of type Sickness.

Issue while creating Absence Quota for one employee

Hi Friends,
Our customer has a weird issue. When time evaluation is run, One Absence Quota type (Leave in Bank) is not getting generated for Only One Employee.
This leave type has been updated with quota in IT 2006 after running PT60 for all other employees in the PA. The issue is only with one employee.
This absence quota is assigned "Increase" in table V_556A_B (Permit Generation of Quotas in Time Evaluation)
Can any one please suggest how to generate the missing quota for this employee. Thank you !!

Leave in Bank Absence type which is valid for 2014 is missing in IT 2006 instead This absence quota valid upto 31.12.9999 is present.
Current requirement is to remove the quota which is valid upto 31.12.9999 and replace the quota which is valid upto 31.12.2014.
I have checked for some PERNRs with same EG/ESG/PA/PSA combination. They have the absence quota valid upto 31.12.2014 Only.

Can you check below two things which can be cause of this error:
1. The link definition of the non-recurring element which is tagged with this absence type, as a best practice this should be an open link. If the link definition and the assignment eligibility is not matching then you may receive this error.
2. If you have defined an accrual plan for this absence type,then check if the accrual plan recurring element is been tagged to the assignment for which you are receiving this error.

Create absences on non-working days.

Hello Time Gurus,
I have a scenario in which the employees can record absences on a non-working day.
The scenario is as follows-
I have a Work Schedule -
Sun(working) Sat(working) Mon(working) Tue(off) Wed(off) Thu(off) Fri(Working)
The working days have a planned working hours of 9 hours and off day has planned working hours of 0 hours.
I have two sets of employees (ESG) - Salaried and Hourly.
The hourly employees should to be able to record absence on non-working day (non-working for me includes the public holidays as well).
I have set the input checks for the absence type OFF on non-working day. I am able to record absence but with 0 absence hours, even though I input some absence hours...the absence hours turns zero because of the planned working hours maintained as zero on non-working day.
How can I achieve this?

How can I now configure so thet the hourly worker on non-working day...can record some absence...
how will we overcome the planned working hours as zero abd convert the same to working using the sleection rules for daytype....
I still don't understand why you want to put an absence on non working day.
Suppose the first week of Jan is as below in period work schedule 01.01 to 07.01
NORM NORM NORM NORM NORM OFF OFF
NORM will have 8 working hours and OFF will have zero working hours. Suppose say that 03.01 is a public holiday.
In DWS NORM planned hours will be 8 hours but still due to day type rules it will be a holiday(non working day) day type = 1
So now 03, 06 and 07 are all non working days for both salaried and hourly class.
Now do you want that for hourly employees these days should be considered as working? and the same days should be non working for salaried?

Warning Message in Absence Page

I have a requirement detailing the Following Scenario in Oracle HRMS R12.1.1
1. User selects Create Absence Entry
2. Selects Paternity Leave
3. Create the Leaves and Click the Submit Button
4. A warning Message should be issued to the User (Asking him to submit the Child Birth Certificate)
5. This should be a warning message and if the user clicks the submit button once again, he should be allowed to submit the Leave.
I have extended the concerned class in the Page and added the Warning Message.
However when submitting the leave in the Application, the Warning Message is displayed, but it does NOT allow the user to proceed.
The code is as follows:

Absence Quota creation during Time evaluation - Orgnaisational Assg change

Hello Experts,
I have one emplyee for whom the Transfer action has been run - his personal subarea has been changed from 1633 to 1654
obviously the ps grouping for time quota type changed form 35 to 40.
so function QUOTA is creating different quota for this employee than what there exist right now for infotype 2006.
so during time evaluation below error is comming.
    Error entry no. 83 Error when creating absence quota
    A complex application error has occurred

The reason 'error no. 83' occurs in RPTIME00 is because function QUOTA
is trying to generate a quota type which does not exist for the employee
on a specific day. It must have existed some time before. Normally,
the function QUOTA displays an error message concerning the
non-existing quota types. In this case, the 'error no. 83' can only
occur in the following scenarios:
1. If you deleted a quota type that was to be generated
2. If an employee has an organizational reassignment to a personnel
   subarea or employee subgroup which have different groupings for quota
   types and for these groupings the 'old' quota type does not exist.
Function QUOTA checks to determine if the quota types to be generated
are valid. If the quota type is not valid anymore (see reason 2) then
you will get a warning message.
"the problem in these situations was the following:
RPTIME00 is trying to generate a quota for a validity interval
(defined in table T559D) during which the employee belongs to two
different groupings, due to the transfer.
In your case the quota type should be generated with a validity interval
that begins before the employee's organizational change.
Unfortunately, for the time between the validity begin up to the
transfer of the employee there is no entry in table T556A for this quota
type.
or check the config of this quota running Rptquota_check in se38
Therefore, it is possible to solve the problem by defining a dummy
quota type for the 'old' groupings of the employee (table T556A).

Function Module BAPI_ABSENCE_CREATE for creating leave request.

Hi Experts,
I am using FM BAPI_ABSENCE_CREATE for creating leave request. I am passing all the data into this as import parameter. When i am executing this return table gives statement EPG184Employee/applicant is not locked yet
Please let me know what i have to follow.

1) HR_EMPLOYEE_ENQUEUE'
2) BAPI_ABSENCE_CREATE
3) HR_EMPLOYEE_DEQUEUE
Functionality
Using this method, an Absences infotype record (2001) can be created.
Notes
Messages are returned in the RETURN parameter. The parameter documentation contains the return codes and their meanings.
The key fields used by this method are described under the parameters.
This method can only be used if the ENQUEUE method has already been called up for the business object EMPLOYEE. For more information on the ENQUEUE method, please see the documentation on the function module BAPI_EMPLOYEE_ENQUEUE.
Note: Create absence
Caution! This API method only writes the Absences infotype (2001). It should no longer be used as it can lead to inconsistent time data. Instead, please use the corresponding 'ManageCreation' API method for business object BUS7007.

Carry forward absences

Can someone pls guide me how to carry forward absences. I am trying to configure in IDES 4.7 version. Time Management Status is 0. I have gone thru various threads in the forum. But still i am not clear how to go abt it. I shall highly oblige step by step solution for the same. Pls help me

as suggested by you i generated the quota for the 2010-2011. In IT 2006 i generated the quota from 01.04.2010 to 31.03.2011 & the number is 12 instead of 1
whn i run PT_QTA10   the screen displays :
Validity Period : 01.04.2010 - 31.03.2011
the table shows both the quota for year 2009-2010 & 2010 - 2011 :
