Could anyone help me how to create access control for the new view ?

Access control with JSP

We have been working with a design company to design our website HTML. However, a portion of these HTML files need to be password protected, all of these files are stored in one particular folder called "/tools". The problem here is that these files should only be accessible if the user has logged into the site, and the design firm has given all of these files an .html extension, which means that they will not be able to run embedded JSP code.
From what I understand, if I want to create access control in these .html files I will need to rename them all to .jsp and then update all the links to these files to use the .jsp extension. But the design firm is telling me that their other clients never needed to do this and were able to use JSP to control access to the folder itself. They said that it is possible using JSP to prevent access to a particular folder on the webserver, and that anybody without a valid login or session who tries to access the files in the folder can be redirected to the login page. All of this can be achieved without having to insert JSP code into the password-protected HTML files and renaming them with a .jsp extension. Is this true? We want to avoid doing this because there are a lot of HTML files and links that will need to be changed if we rename the files to .jsp.
I'm still a relative beginner with JSP and have never heard of any functionality which allows JSP to stop a browser from accessing a particular folder on the server. Am I missing something here? Is there really a better way of doing this without using JSP code?
I have thought about putting the folder in an offline location and then using a controller JSP/servlet to check the user's login status and then read & display the HTML file from the offline folder. But I am not sure if this is really an efficient way of doing this.

You can set up a servlet filter in the web.xml. That lets you intercept every single request to certain areas of the app, and modify/redirect it if necessary.
Example: This sets up a filter that runs on all requests to the "/tools" directory:
In web.xml:

Creating SOD matrix with the help of Access control default ruleset

I am creating the SOD matrix for the existing roles of CRM and HR modules. As I am the security consultant therefore does not have the functional knowledge about the conflicts for CRM and HR transactions. My question is can I use the function/actions/risks conflicts provided with the Access control 5.3 default ruleset. We are not using Access control for these systems, so I want to know whether I can take the help of AC 5.3 default risks to create the SOD matrix based on it.
For e.g, like H001 default HR risk, I would make sure not to assign PA30(maintain HR data) with the PA03/PA04(maintain personal control record) as this will result in the providing conflict "Modify payroll master data and then process payroll".
Once I have the SOD list based upon AC 5.3, I can consult the Business approver/auditor to verify and modify as per the business requirement.
Maybe I am thinking the wrong way, please provide your inputs so I can work on it. Any help appreciated.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that you need to build a rule set that reflects the customers real business risk!
What you build there will influence the way the customer will be able to continue work, assign access and perform control activities. The input HAS to come from the business!
You can use the SAP standard risk definitions as a starting point for discussions, and the HR functions are an excellent building block to identify the transactions and necessary authorization objects that allow users to perform the actions.
But the real challenge is to identify the risks as perceived/accepted by the business!

Create user menus in hierarical tree with access control

Hi All,
I am facing problem in populating user menus in hirarical against user access control.
I have table of menus in which i populate data as:
Menu
- Sub Menu 1
-- Form 1
-- Form 2
-- Form 3
- Sub Menu 2
-- Form 4
-- Form 5
-- Form 6
Now I have created hierarical query as:
SELECT -1, LEVEL, menu_name, NULL, id
FROM menu_opt
START WITH parent_id IS NULL
CONNECT BY PRIOR menu_id = parent_id
and menu_id in
(3, 4);
Note: where menu_id 3 = Form 1, Menu_id 4 = Form 2.
If I allow only menu ID 3 and 4 (not parents menus) then Hierarchy should be completed from top to bottom. What change i have to made to achieve my target?

Sorry, it's very unclear what you want to do.
Whenever you have a problem, please post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for a little sample data, and the results you want from that sample data.
Say which version of Oracle you're using, e.g. 11.2.0.2.0. This is always important, but especially so with CONNECT BY queries, because every version since Oracle 7 has had significant improvements in this area.

If you can show the problem using commonly available tables (such as scott.emp or hr.employees, both of which contain trees) then you don't need to post any sample data; just the results you want and an explanation of how you get those results.
For example, I think you're asking something like this:
"I want to show the hierarchy in scott.emp, but I only want to show certain nodes and their descendants. For example, if I ask for 'MILLER' and 'SCOTT', I would want to see

SharePoint Provider Hosted App (401) Unauthorized Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The Azure Access Control service is unavailable

Hello,
I'm attempting to get a SharePoint 2013 Provider Hosted Application working in a brand new SharePoint environment. I've created snapshots of both my dev and the sharepoint environments along the way and have meticulously documented every step of the
way. I've followed these instructions (among many other resources found along this journey) :

Upon package and publish of my application to SharePoint, I get a 401 Unauthorized error. I use Fiddler to obtain the SPErrorCorrelationID to ultimately obtain the following ULS Viewer Output. Please explain how to fix if you're able.
Please Note: I was under the impression that a Provider Hosted Application does not use the Azure Access Control service, so I'm confused as to why my system is attempting to make this connection?
Also Note: I've used a self signed and godday obtained certificate to successfully f5 debug my basic web.title (out of the visual studio 2012 box) sharepoint provider hosted application... so I know my certs are good.

Yes, actually - I was able to resolve it.
However I don't know how, unfortunately. I suspect it was because I needed to have the names of the certificates, defined during the certificate registration (to sharepoint) process, different.
I have a complete document that shows step by step instructions on the exact process I took to complete the provider hosted application creation, deployment and publishing. It was a daunting task, but I finished it successfully.
If there's a way to send private message on this forum, please do so and I'll respond with a way to obtain my document.
NOTE: I'm not all impressed with the way this forum works. This is supposed to be a Microsoft resource and I'll be damned if I ever get a response to highly technical questions. Completely lame. Boooooo Microsoft.

Access Control up grade from 5.2 to 5.3

Hi,
One of my client have
1. Earlier Access control 5.2 was installed but only FF are configured and is in use.
2. After some time Access Control GRC 5.2 server (front end) have some problem so they have
installed 5.3 to front end level
--no back end patch was updated
--no connector are created.
Now the situation is as follows
Front end -access control 5.3 -
Back end -RTA is access control 5.2(they are only using FF)
No connector are created
From this situation how can we take it forward to access control 5.3.
I have following question
1. can we update back end to 5.3 and start configuration --what is the impact?
2. Do we need to take back up of table FF as client is using only FF.

5.2 RTA will not be compatible with with GRC 5.3 RTA .
So best would ne to upgrade your backend RTA to 5.3 and SP level shoul;d be in Synch with level of SP of front end i.e SA P GRC 5.3 .

Issue while enabling Access Control for a Coherence server node

Im trying to enable access control for a Coherence server node, using the default Keystore login method shipped with Coherence. When i start the server i get the error "java.security.AccessControlException: Unsufficient rights to perform the operation". Please see below for the sequence of steps I've followed to enable access control. I just need to be enable Authentication (not authorization) at this stage

Did you create the weblogic domain with the Oracle Webcenter Spaces option selected? This should install the relevant libraries into the domain that you will need to deploy your application. My experience is based off WC 11.1.1.0. If you haven't, you can extend your domain by re-running the Domain Config Wizard again (WLS_HOME/common/bin/config.sh)

How to use "access control - administrator" in SQL

I have a report with checkboxes to select records for delete. Non administrators can only delete a subset of the records. So for some of the records I would like to hide the checkbox if the user is not an administrator. The checkboxes are created in the select statement.
I would like to know if there is a function that I can use in SQL that will tell me if the current user is administrator or not. I'm using the access control list.

Is Compliance Calibrator the same as GRC Access Control?

I have been asked to look at Compliance Calibrator and am getting confused about what functionality is offered. I have done the basic e-learning course for Compliance Calibrator (GRC200): this was all about separation of duties etc. Fair enough. But I also have a Document called "SAP GRC Access Control" which talks about the same S.O.D compliance functionality but also talks of "roles triggering workflows", "users creating roles", "automated approvals for roles" eg:
"SAP GRC Access Control streamlines access requests by filling each request automatically with user identity information from a lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) directory or HR database, thereby eliminating the need for user intervention. Approvers receive an e-mail with a direct hyperlink to the request inside the application, where they can easily view and approve the request. The application then checks for security violations before updating accounts automatically."
None of this was covered on the Compliance Calibrator course, so what product offers this? I can see another product by Virsa called Access Enforcer but have no info on this... can anyone enlighten me?

What is better for security? WPA2 or Access control

I have a Airport express and 2 computers; a Mac and a PC.
When it come to securing your wi-fi connection so you don't get unauthorized clients on your network.
What is better
A- Just using encryption like WPA2 or some other password based system or
B- Just entering the "Airport ID" (MAC) of the computers I want to authorize in my network on the Access control panel.
Seems to me like the later is easier on the clients since they don't need a password or anything, It's completely transparent for the client. And I believe encryption slows down the connection a bit and create overhead for the computer. But maybe I don't have the full picture of the situation.
Is there anybody who can illuminated this subject for me?

WPA2 is virtually uncrackable only really vulnerable if you use a real word as a password.
When using access control, MAC addresses are sent unecrypted can be read and spoofed and therefore do not add any security.
Unfortunately "Closed" networks, MAC access control lists, and reduction in transmission power are all more "feel good" security rather than real security. All these various approaches are dated and mistakenly lead to overconfidence.
WPA is your friend if you value wireless security.

1. HRMS에서 Security Profile을 정의:
a. HRMS Management responsibility 선택
b. HRMS Manager> Security> Profile로 이동
c. Security Profile이 정의되어 있는지 확인 (OM responsibility 혹은 Site level로)
d. 만일 아직 setup 되어져 있지 않다면 Operating Units를 입력
e. 저장
Note: 만일 위 d step과 같이 새로운 security profile을 생성하였다면 concurrent program 'Security List Maintenance'를 꼭 실행해야 한다.
그렇지 않으면 multiple operating units가 OM forms의 LOV에 나타나지 않을 것이다.
이 program은 multi-org access를 validating 하기 위해 사용하는 table에 data를 생성한다.
Navigation: HRMS Management> HRMS Manager> Processes & Reports> Submit Process & Report> Security List Maintenance
2. MO Profile Options setup:
a. MO: Security Profile - 이 profile setting은 MOAC functionality를 활성화 한다.
b. MO: Default Operating Unit - 이 Operating Unit는 OM forms과 report에서 default가 될 것이며, 이를 clear 하거나 변경하기 위해 LOV를 사용할 수 있다.
Keep the MO profiles in sync:
MO: Security Profile은 site와 responsibility level로 setting 할 수 있다.
MO: Default Operating Unit은 site, responsibility, user level로 setting 할 수 있다.
Application이 원하는대로 동작되지 않는것을 발견하면 이 profile options의 setting 값을 확인한다.
3. OM setup:

Tools -> Preferences -> Database -> Filename for connection startup scriptNot the most flexible approach, so I'm not sure if it is appropriate for your application, but just a thought. You might create distinct connection names with different start-up scripts for each org_id.

File structure and Multi-user access/control

Hi All
Currently evaluating RH. Our plan is to use RH HTML with RoboServer and either SourceSafe or Team Foundation for source control. We will be producing the "printed" manual (PDF) and publishing online help (hopefully html via RH server) from the single source layout
Given that we will edit content in RH's XHTML editor, I'm not clear on when we should create new files or the granularity of multi-user access. We have 17 apps and I plan to use a master project and merging (because we need to link to related topics in other apps).
I'm really not sure what should constitute a file in RH. First off, is access controlled at the file level?
I want to have multiple authors editing the same manual at the same time, so do I need to break the manual into multiple small files (currently it's a single word doc)?
If I do break it into multiple files, what's the best approach: 1 file per topic (or is this a requirement)?

First off, is access controlled at the file level?
Not sure what you mean by that. In source control, you can check in/out ever file independent. Sometimes dependent files will be automatically checked out, for instance images used in the css when you check out the style sheet.

That be the idea. Anyway, it's not a good idea to have an entire RoboHelp project in a single topic. You probably want to cut up your contents into the small chunck: topics.

In RoboHelp a topic is a HTML file. RoboHelp doesn't force you to split up content into one or more topics. If you are creating help for the web, you want the information to be organized in relatively small chunck so users can quickly scan through it.

Not sure what you mean by page breaks. As RoboHelp creates HTML files, there are no page breaks such as in paper manuals. When you create a PDF, you combine the topics you need into a single document.
If a PDF is required for you, you may want to consider not using RoboHelp for your sources. A PDF created by RoboHelp is useful for internal use, but it never seems to get good enough to give to customers. Personally, when a PDF version of a manual is required, I create the manual in FrameMaker and link or import the book into RoboHelp. You can also link Word documents, so you may want to play around with that before deciding whether to use Word, RoboHelp or FrameMaker for your source.

Access control - Restricted access not working

I have an application I have created an Access Control administration page in. I have set the application mode to 'Restricted access. Only users defined in the access control list are allowed'. I have defined two users one with administrator and one with edit privileges. I have a third workspace user who is not listed on the access control page.
I have added the authorisation scheme to the tabs, pages and page items I require. This appears to work fine if I change the privilege of one of the listed users to 'view' the items disappear and cannot be accessed.
The issue I have is that the workspace user who is not listed can still log into the application, and has the same access as 'view' privilege. My understanding is that the 'Restricted Access' application mode should prevent this user from accessing this application as they are not explicitly listed?
Have I missed some set-up, misunderstood the meaning of 'restricted access' or is it some sort of bug? I am assuming I have missed some set-up somewhere.
PS This is APEX 4.0.2 on 11g

four users have been defined :
control_admin
control_edit
control_view
control_na
The first 3 are defined on the access control page available on the user_admin tab when you login as control_admin user.
user control_na is not listed but can still access the application.
password for all users is : demo1234
