Creating Administration Groups using custom Target Properties?

I've added a Target Property "Usage" to my 'host' Target type.  I would like to use this property when creating my Administration Groups.  When I try to create my Administration Group hierarchy, the only Target Property's available to use are the default ones (Lifecycle, Location, etc).  Usage does not show up.
Is there a way to make this work or is this just a limitation of OEM?

Hi Timothy
Typically you want to create user groups for functional areas or grouped reports/queries. You can enter as many users as needed into a user group and only those who have the checkbox next to their name in the user group screen will have authorization to create/modify queries in the infosets where the usergroup is assigned. If you are creating 2 usergroups with the same users and authorizations then that is redundant but if the list of users is different or the authorizations may change then it would make sense to have 2 usergroups. You should have some naming convention to follow when creating the queries but the Z prefix is not required.

    Hi Veera,
    Actually you are getting a warning message where one of two things could have happened. Either you specified an incorrect zone name or one of the zones has not been fully booted. It's likely that you haven't booted the zones, so please follow this:
    zoneadm list -iv
    If zone1 or zone2 are not running then boot and configure them
    zoneadm -z <zone> boot
    zlogin -C <zone>

  • Creating user groups using SQ03.

    I am going to make a change to a already existing query 01 in the user group /SAPQUERY/AM. I am not a query expert, in fact this is the second query that I am modifing. I am reading some documentation that the first thing that I have to do is create a user group. from what I am reading, the user group will contain the users that are allowing to modify queries. Since our users do not use this tool, I am the only one that creates and modifies queries. I think I am going to create a user group and that my user-id will be the only one in the group - correct? will I create one user group and and queries that I make changes to in the future user this user group or do I create user groups based on the users group that are defined by SAP. example - If I am changing a query in /SAPQUER/AM  and in /SAPQUERY/AU - would I create 2 user groups  1 for AM and 1 for AU or would I create only 1 user group and use it for both queries.
    After this, I think I have to copy the infoset (SQ02)and the query (SQ01) to custom names (names starting with Z) and then attaching the parts to the new user group.

  • Using Custom Targets with Monaco Profiler??

    Does anyone know how to use custom RGB or CMYK profiling targets and import them into Monaco Profiler to build color profiles?
    I usually use Bill Atkinson's RGB targets and build RGB profiles with my driver using ProfileMaker, but want to build some profiles using Monaco Profiler. Monaco generates its own targets, but they are massive and use 3 to 4 times as much paper. For example, I can print Bill Atkinson's 1728 patch RGB target on one 11x17 sheet of paper. A 1728 patch target created from Monaco Profiler requires three 17x22 sheets of paper!  That's 6X the paper.  Besides, I already have saved measurement readings from MeasureTool for over 20 papers, and would like to avoid reprinting and remeasuring.  (This is for a Canon iPF6100 printer).
    I know this has been done before, but the targets have to be sequenced and reformatted properly so they will import into MP, and I don't know how to do it. Bill Atkinson has a script to do the conversion, but unfortunately it is Mac only, and I'm on a PC operating WinXP Pro.
    Thanks in advance,
    Lou

    I used to use Monaco, but have not for a few years now.  But, if I recall correctly, I thought you could trim the amount of swatch patches down if you wanted to in the user interface.  I used to use an xRite spectro and would read as many patches as possible ( the thinking was, the more the merrier ).  It seemed to be fairly easy to name and save the final .icc profile and then import it into Wasatch RIP in the calibration process.  But, when Monaco printed the patches, I remember they recommended all profiles and settings turned off in the RIP ( so, in theory, there were no adjustments made to the RAW prints which were then read by Monaco where it created an adjusted .icc profile which then could be used in the RIP ).  However, there was one profile made before the prints from Monaco and that was for Ti ( total ink ) which could then be setup in the RIP.  Not sure about the Canon, but I was profiling an HP 5500.  Once I was done with Monaco, the .icc profile I created via Monaco was then imported into the RIP where I could set my individual RGB and CMYK parameters.  I did many, many different variants in every conceivable scenario, but got the best results setting RGB and CMYK in the RIP which were based on the application color settings.
    But, I do not think it wise to use custom RGB's or CMYK's in the Monaco Profiler and am not sure you can.  This would defeat the purpose of doing a custom .icc print profile, in my thinking.  Perhaps I'm mistaken and you can apply custom RGB and CMYK profiles, then I would think you'd turn them off in the RIP.  Again, it's been a few years since I used Monaco, but I'm pretty sure they recommended not to use any profiles when printing the patches.

  • Create Dynamic Distribution Groups Using Customized Filters

    I am looking to create a new Dynamic Distribution List.
    Example:
    DL - United States Users ([email protected]
    In AD we have the 'Office' field filled accordingly, which contains the attribute USCA___ or USIL (US,California,etc or US, Illinois,etc).
    I was wanting to try creating these using this command/script;
    New-DynamicDistributionGroup -Name "DL - United States Users" -RecipientFilter {(RecipientType -eq 'UserMailbox') -and (Office -eq 'USCA*')(Office -eq 'USIL*')}
    Assistance here please:
    1. What needs to be added in that line so that only certain users can email to it, rejecting all others (i.e. The Helpdesk or Corporate Communications)
    2. Is there a way to specify the SMTP address you want it to use?
    3. Is there a way to have it only add mailboxes that are enabled in AD so disabled mailbox user accounts wont be added?
    Thanks in advance everyone.

    Hi,
    We can use the following command to create a Dynamic distribution group:
    New-DynamicDistributionGroup -Name "DL - United States Users" -RecipientFilter {(RecipientType -eq 'UserMailbox') -and (Office -like
    'US, California' -or (Office -like 'US, Illinois')) -and (UserAccountControl -ne 'AccountDisabled, NormalAccount')}
    Then as what ED says, we can use the Set-DynamicDistributionGroup cmdlet with AcceptMessagesOnlyFrom or
    AcceptMessagesOnlyFromDLMembers parameter to specify certain users who can send email messages to this dynamic distribution group. And use PrimarySMTPAddress parameter to specify the primary return SMTP email address for the distribution group.
    Hope it helps.

  • Error in creating a group using createItemRequest

    Hi Preston,
    I am using createItemRequest for a creating group.
    The code is as follows:
    gwWB.createItemRequest oCreateAddBookEntryReq = new gwWB.createItemRequest();
    gwWB.createItemResponse oCreateAddBookEntryResp ;

    if(oCreateAddBookEntryResp.status.code == 0)
    string sNewAddBookEntryID = oCreateAddBookEntryResp.id[0];
    createItemResponse is returning Status code as 0 and the id field for group as null. When i see the group in the Address Book , a message box pops up that the group cannot be opened.

    I'm confused at what you are trying to create.
    Some of the fields are only available on a
    system address book entry. You can't create a
    system address book group from SOAP.
    What does the SOAP trace look like for the
    the create item request and response and
    when you try to get the group after that?

  • Create Routing Groups using BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE Limitation?

    Hi all,
    I am doing a conversion for the routing groups for PP. The routing groups include sequence, operation number, material assigned and component allocation.
    In this project, the BOM size of the material is super huge, thus to ease the conversion. I have used Function module to download the BOM structure and then allow user to maintain manually the operation and sequence. After that I will use BAPI BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE to do the conversion.
    And I manage to get all operation, sequences, material assigned and component allocated. However, I face a problem as the BOM size keep increasing and same material BOM might be assigned to different header BOM at the same time. Thus, key field such as level and path is important for the input.
    Note: Please check the order path in CA03, the technical name is STPOB-WEGXX1 with attribute type DEC length 4.
    In my case, the Order Path is more than 99... around few hundreds....  But the issue is the order path field used in the BAPI_ROUTING_CREATE: BAPI1012_COM_C-ORDER_PATH is only has attribute type NUMC length 2.
    Either I get a short dump by passing in the order path, or I might miss out the some component allocation using the BAPI. Anyone faces this before? Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Best regards,
    Vin

    Hi Vivek,
    I got this reply from SAP.
    ORDER_LVL and ORDER_PATH need not be filled, but PATH has to be
    filled with the KANTE values.
    The logic to calculate path value is the same as the kante value.
    (PATH)
    A (N) 0
    -> B (P) 1
    -> B1(N) 1
    -> B2(P) 2
    -> C (P) 3
    -> C1 (N) 3
    -> C2 (P) 4
    N- normal item P- phantom
    Note 305919 details this.
    However, it quite confuses me as I read through sapnote 305919 : It seems like what is been replied from SAP does not really correct.
    Symptom
    You want to create component allocations to phantom assemblies using batch or direct input. In order to uniquely identify the phantom assembly, you must enter the level and the path. This note describes how the SAP System assigns the level and the path.
    Thus, I will continue to check with SAP. I think this is the inconsistency of the database and the BAPI, correct me if I am wrong.
    Thanks a lot.

    Vin

  • Cannot create data source using custom third-party driver

    Hi,
    I've just installed Weblogic Server 10.3.6 and I'm getting problems creating a generic data source using my own third party jdbc driver which I had no problems doing in Weblogic Server 10.0; this is what I did in 10.0;
    before starting server i put my driver jar file (and any jar files it needed) in the lib folder of the domain user project which weblogic appends to the classpath during server startup
    inside weblogic console -
    1. first page - provided a data source name and jndi name and selected 'other' for database type
    2. second page - selected 'other' for jdbc driver
    3. third page - deselected the global transactions
    4. fourth page - provided database name, username, host name, port, and password.
    5. fifth page - provided driver class, url, database user name and password (didn't bother with the test)
    6. Selected target server
    I then saved and activated changed and was done.
    This what I did for 10.3.6
    did the same thing I did for 10.0 before server start up
    inside weblogic console -
    1. first page - provided data source name and jndi name and selected 'other' for database type
    2. second page - selected 'other' for jdbc driver
    3. third page - deselected the support global transactions
    4. fourth page - here's where things are different - page only asked for database username and password, which I give.
    One this page I get a criptic error saying 'errors must be corrected before proceeding' - no other message as to what these errors might be either in the console or the cmd window of the server. I tried making changes to the provider authenticiation of the security realm but no luck. I tried following password creation requirements, I even tried proceeding to the next page without entering anything on this page, all no luck. I have no idea what's going on.
    Hope someone can help.
    Sam.

    I've fixed the class issue but am struggling a bit with SQL Server authentication. I'm running in mixed mode (originally set to Windows authentication but I've modified the security setting), I've enabled TCP/IP and Named Pipes, I've created a user (who I can log in to SQL Server Mgmt Studio successfully with), but still get a connection refused error.
    Any insight? Thanks.

  • Managing Monitoring Templates Based on Target Properties (not Administration Groups)

    I understand how to create administration groups, based on a hierarchy of target properties.  In addition, I've assigned monitoring templates to these various groups with limited success.
    But I would like to be able to setup different monitoring templates, metric values, compliance configuration, etc based on the target properties themselves and not just the hierarchy.
