Creating albums on iPod touch

Within my Camera Roll I can add a photo to a New Album. I don't want the photo in the camera roll after I place it in an album. I can't delete the camera roll pic without deleting the album pic also. It this the way it will always be??????
Thanks

Only by syncing the photos to the iPod. Although the photos are show in both places when you create an album there is only one copy of the photo on the iPod.

  • HT1351 Only want to see sync songs/artists/albums on iPod touch (not the whole library in iTunes). How to do it?

I only want to see on iPod touch songs/artists/albums manually selected for sync (not the whole library in iTunes). How to do it? Not sync titles appear in grey colour...

So if I understand you correctly, you want to be able to sync only certain songs, artists, and albums correct? If so you can configure this set up from under the iPod's Music configuration tab in iTunes as described in the Syncing Automatically section in the Apple support document you linked in at the top of the page.  Note that you cannot select only certain songs, but you can set it up to sync selected Artists, Genres, and Albums.
If the tab and its configurations are grayed out, it is likely because your iPod is set up for manual management, meaning the manually manage music and videos option is enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab.

  • How do I sync the playlists I created on my iPod touch to my iTunes on my computer?

How do I sync the playlists I created on my iPod to my iTunes on my computer?

By syncing. The users manual says:
New and changed playlists are copied to your iTunes library the next time you sync iPod touch with your computer, or via iCloud if you’ve subscribed to iTunes Match.
You have to sync, not manage music manually in iTunes.

  • How to import events created on my iPod touch iCal into my computer's iCal?

    Hi,
I have an iPod touch and and MacBook Pro; I find that the "sync" that occurs between the two, via my iTunes application, seems one-way (from my computer to my iPod). I would like to have events created on my iPod (while out and about) to be added/adjusted into my computer's iCal; essentially, why is the sync between the two devices not a mutual exchange, and how can I change the import/export settings?

By syncing. The users manual says:
New and changed playlists are copied to your iTunes library the next time you sync iPod touch with your computer, or via iCloud if you’ve subscribed to iTunes Match.

  • Can't select calendar with creating event on iPod touch

Hi everyone - Thanks in advance for your help!
    Here's the deal:
I have 4 calendars on Google Calendar. I use google's "Calaboration" to push those calendars to apple ical on my macbook pro. Those calendars then show up just as they should on my ipod touch. All that works like a song. Couldn't be happier.
To be clear, those are the ONLY 4 calendars I use. I have not, and don't plan to create any others in ical.
HOWEVER, when I try to create an event using my IPT, it will not allow me to select which of those 4 calendars I want to use. I can see the field where I would do so, but it's grayed out. Instead, it creates a 5th calendar called, creatively "calendar" and puts the event there.
The new "calendar" shows up in ical on my MBP, but of course does not sync to google.
What's worse, I can't even change which calendar I want it to show up on in ical on my MBP.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think I solved it unless someone knows a better way (likely). I went from manually manage to auto sync. That drastically increased my free space. Apparently that made the "keep only newest episode" command go from itunes to the ipod.
Once my space was freed up I went back to manually manage so I could use smart playlists again.

  • Problems creating playlists on iPod Touch

Besides the issues of the ridiculous DRM, when I synch my new iPod Touch to the "registered" computer, I am unable to create playlists, on the iPod, to sort the music with. On my other iPod (the "classic" version) I can create new playlists by either clicking on "file" then "new playlist" or the "+" sign at the bottom of iTunes with no problems; not so with this newest iPod Touch.
Instead all these features are "grayed out" and unusable on the iPod. I'm hoping someone has a resolution to this and can help. Thanks.

Upgrading to the 3.0 software has an answer for you.
I've been asking this same question of how to create video playlists on an iTouch since I first tried to sync my iTouch (1st gen), and all of my personal videos/playlists, with iTunes. A simple alphabetical list under Movies is not what you would expect from such a cool handheld video player - and Apple, but that's all that you got. I read in another thread in this forum that other video iPods had video playlist capabilities, but not the iTouch. What an oversight - bigger than no cut and paste in my opinion.
But if you pay the $9.95 for the 3.0 software JUST for finally getting your iTouch to recognize and play your video playlists, know this - it stinks. It's definitely not a fully thought out and developed feature - which is probably why it doesn't make any of Apple's marketing hoopla about 3.0
It's not a fully thought out feature because you go to your Music button/tab to view your video playlists. Duh? - the Music button?, why not the Videos button? Your iTouch with 3.0 sees them as just another music playlist. You don't even get the little video screen icon with your video playlist. You finally get that icon when you select the video playlist - if you named it well and remember which playlist to select. Oh well, at least the iTouch is *FINALLY SUPPORTING video playlists* - just go to your Music library to find them.
If you want to use your iTouch as a fully functioning video player to quickly access your personal videos and show them off, let me know, I'm working on an app.

  • One computer: Can i create two identical ipod touches?

I have an ipod touch that I have been happily using with itunes on my PC. I just bought a second used ipod touch that I would like to be an identical duplicate (same apps, same songs)
Is there any way to do this?
    thanks,
    ant

hmm. i really appreciate the help, but im still stumped.
the "auto sync" option in the 'summary' tab is greyed out. this may be because the 'sync apps' has not been clicked yet.
when i click 'sync apps' and 'yes' the alert that says that all apps on the ipod will be replaced by apps in itunes- it then gives me a new layout with only a third of my apps. it looks to me like if i do this, and then sync, it will delete a ton of my apps (super bad!).
too scared to try this, i then unclick 'sync apps' and then unplug and replug my ipod whereupon the unsynced original app list on the ipod comes back up.
    what am i missing?

  • How do i delete an photo album created in my ipod touch

i created an album but i was unable to change the name of the album so then i created a new one then i found out that i cant delete any of the new albums created? what am i supposed to do to delete these albums?

If you have iOS 6, you can click 'Edit' button on the right top corner. Then you will see a delete icon next to your album. For Camera Roll, Photo Library, and Last import albums, you have to connect to iTunes and delete them manually.

  • Unable to tranfer album to iPod touch 4th Gen.

My iPod is up to date on software (6.1.6). When I sync my computer library to my iPod it is quick and everything is transferred except for one album (The Very Best of Matisyahu). When I view my device's contents from my computer I can see it in the list but it has an open circle next to it as though it is loading with the name in grey letters. I have attempted to transfer it through a playlist and the playlist appears on my device but is completely blank. I have searched through other questions and tried everything that has been suggested and nothing has worked. My computer is a windows if that matters and runs the latest version of iTunes.

Assuming the songs play in iTunes on the computer
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • ?move app-created files from ipod touch to standard usb stick via pc

    Hi,
I would be grateful if anyone can help with this question:
    How do I
backup app-content-files-I-created to a standard usb stick
which may involve locating where they are on my pc
remove app-content-files-I-created from iTunes and from my pc
(the app in question is the adorable DM1 by Fingerlabs)

App data is included in the backup that iTunes. The backup is located here. Yu can copy to USB stick and then delete the file from your computer.
Where iTunes backups are stored on your computer
The folder where your backup data are stored varies depending on the computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your periodic data-backup routine.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac:~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
Windows Vista and Windows 7:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press theReturn key.
