Creating an event calendar with Muse

I have a client that wants an events calendar.
We want to use MUSE to build this calendar and have it updateable by the project manager on the client side.
I followed some links to a Business Catalyst forum article that talks about this issue. I read it thoroughly, and logged into Business Catalyst as suggested in that post (see link here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5077545#5077545#5077545)
Once inside of Business Catalyst I got overwhelmed, and generally confused. I don't know which product does what, I don't know what I need and I don't know how any of it works.
For example, let's hypothetically imagine that I bought the "webMarketing" package at $18.88 USD / month. Will that allow me to place calendar modules onto pages inside of MUSE?
Ideally any upgrade via business catalyst will allow me to create blogs and calendars. I need to keep costs down and be able to give access to the client's marketing team to manage the calendar once we've finished with it.
Eventually the client will want to build a community forum - not sure if there is a business catalyst tool that will help us do that, but if so it's something we would like to be made aware of for the future.
Anyway, again: I am having a hard time figuring out what to do to get event calendar creation via MUSE.

Create iCal-iCloud calendar with applescript

I am trying trying to create a new calendar with Applescript in my iCloud account. I've tried using the following:

but it creates it On My Mac. I've tried searching for a way to do this but can't find anything.

That seems to be possible with GUI Scripting:

I'm not able to create a iphoto calendar with the correct birthday entries.

I use the latest Iphoto version and OS X 10.9.
I tried to create a calendar in iphoto that includes all birthday information of my family. Unfortunately I'm not able to do this.
I tried two differnt ways to get the information into the calendar.
First of all I' tried to use the option of the calendar to get the information of my contacts and it partly worked. Some dates were missing and I was not able to modify or add additional birthdays in the calendar. I checked my contacts and the information was there but not shown in the Iphoto Calendar.
Therefore I have to get the information into the calendar in a different way. For that I created a new calendar in ICal and created for each Birthday entries.
I select the option in the Iphoto calendar to show the new calendar in iPhoto. But the result was worse than with the first solution. Only few entries was shown in the calender.
Do anybody have an idea how can I solve this issue.

Do the birthdays (from Contacts) show correctly in the Calendar app? Sometimes there is a formatting problem with the date string in the Contacts. If the Birthdays do not show correctly in the Calendar.app, try to delete them from Contacs and enter them again, and check, if they now are showing correctly in Calendar. Quit both Contacts and Calendar.
Then restart iPhoto, and in the "Settings" for your Photo Calendar disable the Birthdays option, and then turn it on again.
Any changes you do to the birthdays in Contacts may only appear in iPhoto Calendars after Calendar or Contacts wrote their databases, and iPhoto will read these databases, when you enable the "Birthdays" option. Toggling this option on and off will ensure, that the new Contacs info will be read.

Creating a ecommerce website with Muse and BC

I would like to create my site in Muse, then add a catalog in with business catalyst but i don't know if i will be able to continue editing the site in Muse once i upgrade it to webcommerce plan in business catalyst.
I also would like to know how it works when i integrate the catalog in Muse. Do i add a HTML code in a page in Muse then the visitor will be able to navigate in the catalog in the same Muse page? What are the steps to follow to implement a catalog in a Muse website?
I already watched some tutorials but never found specific answers.

Hi there, Do a bit of a forum search as there are a few topics on the Muse and eCommerce already.
You can kind of do something but Muse is more of a beginer tool to build basic websites for graphic designers. Its not really a web building tool.
There is a lot to eCommerce and you need to really understand BC, its modules, UI design, HTML, CSS and Javascript to implement eCommerce on BC correctly and get stuck in with coding.

How to create an event marker with durations of upto 10mins

I want to record the time of an event, occuring on the acquired data or a user generated keyboard event, since the start of a recording sessions. A typical session of record will take 10-15 mins. The timer need to start as soon as the recording is initiated and run without overflow till end of recording.
So my two problems are:
1. How do I create a timebase for the counter so that its TC duration will be atleast 15mins and at the same time be able to detect 10ms event.
2. How do I connect the above timebase to 2nd counter, which will read the time of event, and read the count value and store in an array when an event occurs.
Any help or guidelines to approach this problem will be a
ppreciated

If you are using Labview to do that, you can take advantage of the shipping example named "Measure Buffered Period.vi". You can set that counter's source to be the 100K interanl time base, and route the events line to that counter's gate pin. At each event, the counting number will be stored at the buffer, and you can keep reading those numbers. as you know the frequency of the timebase, the elapsed time will be the counting number you read, times 1/100k. As you probably don't need much accuracy on the 10minutes counter, you can do that opeartion by Software, and stop the while loop after that time has been reached.

How to create a group calendar?

i am sorry but this is one more question on wiki-group-calendars.
*In short:*
I am not able to create a group calendar with the wiki frontend. the calendar that is created with a wiki is owned by the admin of the wiki. So it is always a personal calendar that cannot be shared in iCal.
LONG:
I want to create a group calendar that is viewed and edited through iCal.app and the web service. Apple´s "wiki deployment" guide says on page 57:
+"The web calendar allows you to easily schedule events for yourself or your group. ...+
+There are *two types of web calendars: personal and group*. You can send and receive event invitations through the personal calendar but not through the group calendar. Also, *while anyone in a group can create or edit events in a group calendar*, you can edit only events in your own personal calendar or event invitations you send to other people.+
+The web calendar uses iCal Server to store events and invitations. ..."+
But there is not mentioned how to create a group calendar. The calendar created with the wiki web-frontend belongs to the admin of that particular wiki. This is why the calendar data ist stored in folder named with the UUID of the wiki admin. Also the alias "http://server.fqdn:8008/principals/groups/mygroupname/" which i provided in iCal turns into ..._uids_UUID-of-the-wiki-admin and only the wiki-admin can access this calendar in iCal.app.
My research on this topic reveals that there were in issue that should be resolved in 10.6.4 (that is running on our Server). So, again, how to create a group calendar?

You said "you need to go to the wiki page and add the wiki's there...." What is the "wiki page" you mention? Is that some place I go to via the browser or the Server Admin tool?
I went to http://ical.mysite.com/ical/ and logged in as the Directory Administrator but didn't see anything resembling what you described.

PHP MySQL Event Calendar that's DW friendly

I've tried ExtCal 2.0 and I'm not satisfied. It's loaded with
features, but I want something that I can use my own page layout
template and drop in the calendar page code. DW can't preview
ExtCal pages properly in Design view to edit. I know PHP MySQL
reasonably well but I'm looking for something to automatically
generate the month/week/day views automatically. I'm rambling here
but anyone have any suggestions?

I have been looking for a replacement for the old InterAKT
calendar extension. Adobe killed it whwn the bought InterAKT. I
need an extenstion that will help me create an event calendar for
my CMS websites. Or, I have to keep a copy of MX 2004 around just
to edit those pages.
If anyone ever finds a good calendar extension for creating
dynamic event calendars, please let us all know!!

see any options in Elements 11. Can I do it with a template?

That I don't think you can do with the template in create. But if you google for "photoshop calendar template" you'll find a bunch of other choices that you just open in Expert mode like any other image and go from there.

Public Event Calendar

How can I make an Event Calendar publicly accessible (i.e. users can see the events posted without login) while having the remaining calendars accessible to REMOTE_USER (protected by SSO)?
I don't want users to be able to add an Event Calendar with global agenda open to their favorites, I want to make it available via URL without login.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
It works here.
Control-Click the event and select 'copy'. Click on the calendar you want to paste the event to, so it is highlighted with a grey background. Then select 'paste'.

Issues create quick events with GMT timezone in Calendar.

Hi All,
I have the following issue. I live The Netherlands but for my work I work with the UK. As they are in GMT and I am in CET I regularly create an event with GMT time in mind.
I also use Quick Events a lot. So I click on create quick event and I a type i.e. blah blah 9PM GMT. So far so good. So in this case 9PM GMT is 10PM CET.
However and I am not sure of this, but pretty sure, after the move to summertime the GMT moves two hours ahead. So the event at 9PM GMT now shows as 11PM CET.
Is anybody else having this issue?

your opinions.They're not opinions. They're facts, backed partially by the code I already posted, and more by code I've been dealing with for a couple of years.
Although I can parse the date & time data by using
the dateFormat as what you describe, I believe one
Java API class shall take care it.I don't know what you mean by this, but Calendar is not the appropriate class here.
The reason I want to preserve the user's time zone is
for user respective. I can ingore the time zone and
present the date data with the server machine time
zone configuration. This approach is not good for a
user. Some in Europe, for example, wouldn't want to
the time in the Pacific time zone format.You're not understanding what I'm saying.
The user tells you his TZ. He has to at some point, else you can't support TZ-specific input and display. You save that with the user profile, not with each date.
So I register with your site, and I tell you my TZ is GMT-8 (US/Los Angeles).
Later, you want to record what time something happens. You only need to look at what time it is on the server. You store that Timestamp. When it's time to display that to me--like to display the time I posted a message--you get the timestamp from the DB, and then you format it with a DateFormat whose TZ has been set to "US/Los Angeles" or "PST" or something. It will be displayed correctly.
If you want to ask me what time something happened, and you're assuming I'll be entering it in my local time, then you take the string I provide--say "2006-04-09 11:04"--then you parse that with a DF that has its TZ set to "PST" or whatever. What you save to the DB is a Timestamp created from the Date you got from the parse().
By storing a Date or Timestamp, you're not losing TZ information. You're storing the point in time at which something happened, later, when you're ready to display that, you convert that point in time to the relevant TZ. No information is lost.

TS3999 When I creatae a new calendar it copies all the events in my existing calendars. How can I create a calendar with no events in it???

How can I create a new calendar (e.g. Yoga) that doesn't have all the events on my other calendars (which all appear to be synced with each other)? I just want a blank calendar to start with.

Can't select calendar with creating event on iPod touch

Hi everyone - Thanks in advance for your help!
Here's the deal:
I have 4 calendars on Google Calendar. I use google's "Calaboration" to push those calendars to apple ical on my macbook pro. Those calendars then show up just as they should on my ipod touch. All that works like a song. Couldn't be happier.
To be clear, those are the ONLY 4 calendars I use. I have not, and don't plan to create any others in ical.
HOWEVER, when I try to create an event using my IPT, it will not allow me to select which of those 4 calendars I want to use. I can see the field where I would do so, but it's grayed out. Instead, it creates a 5th calendar called, creatively "calendar" and puts the event there.
The new "calendar" shows up in ical on my MBP, but of course does not sync to google.
What's worse, I can't even change which calendar I want it to show up on in ical on my MBP.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think I solved it unless someone knows a better way (likely). I went from manually manage to auto sync. That drastically increased my free space. Apparently that made the "keep only newest episode" command go from itunes to the ipod.
Once my space was freed up I went back to manually manage so I could use smart playlists again.

Is there a way to create a new Calendar that replicates all events

Is there a way to create a new Calendar that replicates all events from a subscribed calendar ? Mobile Me is great but my most important Calendar is technically in the "Subscriptions" category so it doesn't get pushed to me iPhone. I want to create a new Calendar and have it just automatically copy all the events from the subscribed calendar and keep up to date with that one.

I subscribed to a Holiday calendar that I also wanted to be published, and the only workaround that I found was to export the calendar, delete the subscription, and then import the calendar.
This obviously will only work with a subscription that is not often updated/subject to change.
