Creating an executable - Also setting up DB and ODBC with it

Hello,
I have just completed my project and would like to make an .exe out of it. I know there is a jar file in the dist folder.
I'd also like the executable to setup my access database, setting up the odbc connection.
Is this possible? Some kind of install wizard??

You need Mountain Lion (10.8.2 or higher) and iPhoto '11 (9.4 or higher) or Aperture 3.4 to get shared photo streams on Mac.
Another option to transfer them is to either import them to iPhoto using your usb cable, as explained here:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, or to us an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to your Mac over your wifi. (PhotoSync will also transfer albums, not just photos from the camera roll.)

Help, kid set restriction code and forgot it. she also set up her icloud thing with a typo'd (therfore nonexistent) email. I tried to make the email exist but "live" is no longer an available domain...have more info but no more characters...

Can't restrict an app because there is a restricton passcode that no one knows. Can't reset phone without it. Can't reset it in apple id mangement because she did a typo in her email address when setting the phone up. I would just create that email but "live" is no longer a usable domain. What do i do? Oh and the phone was given to her by someone who was getting a new phone so there is no warranty or insurance or anything of that nature.

I create a new calendar on My mac and share with my wife's mac. She accepts the sharing but the calendar doesn't show up on her Calendar or her iPhone.

I would point out that I did say...
Of course the Contacts List has to have people listed in it.
The Error seems to be that you have not even got an My Card.
The OS when the computer is brand new and you set up the first Admin Account should create at least once Card entry for the Address Book/Contacts which has the Head and Shoulders icon (the My Card)
The does presume the the first account on the Mac doers have a person's First name and Last name to work with.
Of course not everyone sets things up this way.
Anyhow
To Check the Contacts List open the app.
Go to the Preferences.
Go to the Accounts section.
This should list at least two "accounts
One is for Syncing with iCloud and the other is for storing the Info on the Mac itself
In System Preferences > iCloud you can only set up one Apple ID to be the iCloud ID.
If you do or have changed this you may have extra accounts in the Contacts > Preferences > Accounts

Best Way to Set up Wired and Wireless with Junction Box

I have searched but not found my exact situation. I have a cable modem in a junction box in the laundry room. I have wired ethernet access in three rooms. I would like to set up a wireless network. If I use a WRTG54 wireless router inside the junction box, what kind of wireless signal would I get? This would be the easiest, but I don't know how good the signal would be with the wireless router mounted inside the box.
My second option would be to have someone wire another phone outlet somewhere in the house and use a wireless access point at that location (I already have a WAP I can use).
The third option is to use a regular router in the junction box and then use a wireless router in one of the three rooms, which would be wired to one computer and also serve as the wireless access point. Does this work?

You can set-up your wrt54g router along with your modem and use an access point(wap54g) in repeater mode and use it to connect all the wireless devices across your home...

Blinking folder with question mark and a new hard drive: also installing Mountain Lion and 0 with a line through it appears please help?

Okay so my harddrive failed in my 13" Macbook I used to have a WD scorpio black 250 gb for a while. I upgraded to a WD scorpio black 500 gb 7500 rpm hard drive. Okay so I installed the harddrive and ran my friends startup disc to learn that grey face discs are specific to that computer. The start up disc ran fine (minus the error stating it could not install OSX because its specific to another computer) and I looked in disc utility after installing the new harddrive and it said verified. I lost my startup disc and did not have another one. Using a friends mac I created a bootable USB drive with mountain lion on it, I plug it in and it comes up and when I choose to start up on the harddrive a 0 with a line going throguh it appears. If I do not start up with the USB or my friends startup disc then a blinking folder with a question mark appears. So my question is what could the problem be if a startup disc runs on a new WD harddrive and says under disc utility that its verified but the 0 with a line through it appears after I try to boot it with a flash drive containing mountain lion? WHats the issue here im completely lost now

Sounds like some sort of power issue and now your drive is not working.
You'll have to take this to Apple for repair.
You should read this if you don't have recent backups of your data off the machine.

Create summary file as part of export and send with photos via ftp?

I've looked this forum quite a bit tonight, but I'm under a tight deadline, so I'm going ahead and posting. Excuse me if I'm asking something that is answered elsewhere in the forum.
I need to add a step to a custom FTP export plugin that will generate a summary file of the export, including some user input information.
Can anyone point me to a specific tutorial or sample for this type of thing? This would be something similar to LR/Transporter, but need to be included in the same plugin, not as an extra step by the user (i.e., it could be a post processing action, but can't be another whole plugin and step for the Lightroom user).
Essentially being able to generate either an XML, CSV or general text file that would be FTP'd along with the photos, with custom data written into that file that would include data provided by the user in custom dialog during the export process.

Please Help, Setting up router and AirPort with port forwarding

If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
I have a DSL Router supplying my internet connection, this is then connected to my AirPort Base station and distributes my internet connection to my two Macs and my two iPhones. Everything is working fine, however I want to forward some of the ports and I cannot do this since the base station is in bridge mode. If I take the AirPort base station out of bridge mode it gives me an error that say's Double NAT.

I don't believe this to be true. Isn't port forwarding done on the router and not the AEBS, as it is not a router?
Go into your DSL router by typing the routers address (found in the network pane in system preferences) into your browser's window. This should take you to your log-on page on your router.

Creating a mirrored raid set with a hard drive that already has data on it.

I have a hard drive that I keep my photos on, and want to create a mirrored raid set that includes this drive, with its data, and another drive. How can I do this without erasing the drive with my photos on them? I am running 10.7.5 if that matters.

Creating a Mirrored RAID reformats the drive and loads a substantial RAID driver and some tables onto it. When completed, the drive is inherently a member of a RAID set, and will continue to be so even if moved to another Mac.
because of this, you cannot create a RAID directly on a standard drive that contains data already in any reasonable, risk-free way.
To amplify what The Hatter has said above, Mirrored RAID is not Backup. Mirrored RAID only increases mean time to repair to keep a drive failure from becoming a Data Disaster. You still need a Backup. Mirrored RAID does not protect you from deletions from user error, crazy software, or "just because".
I run a mirrored RAID in my Home Server, which contains all the Users files for everyone in the Household. And I also recognize (after being burned by it) that Mirrored RAID is helpful, but not a sufficient Backup by itself. I back up the Users Drive automatically to an External drive using Time Machine. [So what I am advising is not just theoretical, I am living what I am advising.]
With WD Black 1TB and other very good drives in the under US$100 range, there is really no reason NOT to invest in several drives for such an undertaking.

Setting computer time and date

After removing the battery from my Powerbook G4 to send to the dealer for the battery exchange program I have had problems setting the computer date and time. It has reverted back to 1 January 1970. I have been into system preferences and changed the date to current date and time - have done it both manually and also ticked box set date and time automatically but when I shut computer down and open again, it reverts back to the date 1 January 1970. Can anyone help, please?

To set the date and time manually:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Date & Time.
Click the Date & Time button.
Deselect the "Set date & time automatically" checkbox if it is selected.
Click today's date on the calendar and drag the hands on the clock to the correct time.
You can also set the date and time using the up and down arrows, or by typing over the current date or time.
Click Time Zone and follow the onscreen instructions to choose the correct time zone for your geographic region.

How do You create menu buttons that move up and down with a remote?

I have six menu items that are linked to their proper locations. When I simulated it a Hand moves over the proper choice then when I click there we go.
But on the DVD simulator you can't navigate. I thought maybe I would bring in one of the templates to use their buttons I can't get my images to replace theirs. Any help appreciated.

In simulater I then use the remote control and CANNOT navigate through the buttons
I stop Simulator and then use Auto Assign Buttons Now Command, then relaunch Simulator and get the remote control to work
Make sure to link the button to the track you want to go to.
I thought the issue is that you cannot navigate the buttons with the remote control? If you only have one button on the screen, it will always be selected (Yellow in your project as described)
If it is flashing Megenta and nothing happens, it means a target has not been set (or somehow you are targeting the menu again)
So the only two condiitions you will see is yellow or magenta.

How do I create an executable with arguments that executes once and terminates

I'm just starting with LabView, so I'm sure this issue has been address somewhere already. I just can't locate the answer.
I am running version 6i (I may be able to get 7 or 8).
I need to create a command line executable program with parameter input that executes only once and then terminates.
This is for instrument control (sets the signal generator frequency, level, RF on/off and arms the Trigger). I have written a simple VI that works from within LabView (programs the instrument when the Run button is pressed). I have further managed to perform an Application Build to create an executable however, the application continues to run, waiting for the Run button to be pressed. Also, I need to know how to pass parameters to this executable (freq, level, RF on/off, trigger arm).
This executable will (eventually) be called repeatedly by a Matlab file.

I'm not sure I understand you problem with the Run button. If you set the execution mode to Run When Opened from VI Properties, it should execute once whenever it's called. I think that when building an executable, it changes the property to this if it's not already set. If the application does not have this set, it will not be running at all. I'm assuming that you are talking about the Run button on the toolbar and not a run Boolean that you've created on the front panel.
Since you have the app builder, your other option is to create a DLL. If you can call a DLL in Matlab, then that would probably be simpler.

How to set the duration of each pic in a slideshow (and also how to pan and zoom)

I have about 30 pictures I would like to add to a slide show.
When I add them the duration for each picture is set to 6 seconds.
I would like this changed to 4 seconds.
But manually changing the duration of each individual picture, one by one, is a slow and tedious task.
Is there a way of changing the duration of all my pictures at the same time, from 6 seconds to 4 seconds ?
Or can I change a setting so that when I insert my pictures the duration is set to 4 seconds instead of 6 seconds ?
As for the pan and zoom, I have seen the pan and zoom effect but this has a black border around the pictures as they zoom in and out.
For example, when zooming in the picture starts small with a black border all round the edge.
When zooming out the picture ends small with a black border all round the edge.
Is there a way to pan and zoom starting with a full screen when zooming in, and ending with a full screen when zooming out ?
Thereby not showing any ugly black borders.
My Nokia N73 phone can do it !
You can view the pictures as a slide show and when it pans and zooms it looks so much better because it does not show any black borders.
The picture ALWAYS fills the screen even though it is panning and zooming.

If you go to Edit/Preferences, you can set the default duration for each slide. This will affect only those photos you've imported into your project AFTER changing this preference.
You should also turn off the preference for Scale to Frame Size, so your photos do not fill the screen. (And, for efficiency's sake, make sure your source photos are no larger than 1000x750 pixels, per the FAQs at the top of this forum.)
You can also set the duration of each slide by selecting all of the stills you want to include on in your slideshow, right-clicking and selecting the Create Slideshow option.

Yes I wrote AspectRatioSelection to take the document orientation into consideration an use the ratio you set orientated to the documents orientation. So an action to crop Landscape and Portraits for a 4X6 paper would be easy to record. You will notice the dialog has two numbers fields not a Width and Height fields no orientation is implied. Its companion LongSidePrintLength.jsx the let you set the correct print dpi after the aspect ratio crop.
I did create a plug-in where you could specify an absolute aspect ratio that also had an orient option to work like AspectRatioSelection. So with that plug-in you would able to crop a landscape to a portrait and portrait to landscape. Hover the image composition changes so much when you do often you can't get an acceptable composition. The dialog also became hard to describe well for me. I program better then I do English. The orient check box made width and height meaningless and the aspect ratio not absolute and wasn't easly explained. This is what it look like.

The way it works biased on you documents orientation. If your document is wider then tall it landscape if it taller the wide it a Portrait. If It square the plugin defaults it to Landscape.
So it makes no difference if you set 4 and 6 or 6 and 4 or 3 and 2 or 2 and 3
Landscape and square document will see landscape selection with a or 3:2 aspect ratio selection or path the is either rectangle or oval
Portraits documents will see a Portrait selection with a 2:3 aspect ratio selection or path the is either rectangle or oval
