Creating an image rollover when text is rollover

Hi all,
I'm trying to create the following:
I want certain words in the text to trigger an image when
rolled over.
Will Captivate 3 allow this? I've done every type of rollover
box etc.to get the image to appear when the text is rolloever over.
Any suggestions if this is even possible?

There is a zoom feature of Captivate. You click Insert >
Zoom area. You then end up with two different areas on your slide.
One is where you place focus. The other will contain what you want
to zoom in on. The difference between the two in size determines
how much magnification occurs. For example, if you have a really
small zoom area and a really large zoom destination area, you are
magnifying a great deal.
You will probably find the results a bit less than
satisfactory, as the zoom destination will not present the cleanest
image. It will grow quite fuzzy and sort of pixellated. Because of
this, you may wish to create your own "zoomed up" image and use it
inside the Zoom Destination area. When you double-click the area,
you should see a button that allows choosing the image to be
"zoomed".

As the title points out, I'm trying to create an image from unicode text via command line. I tried...
convert -pointsize 48 -size 400 caption:测试用 text.png
But that results in question marks for the Chinese characters. So searching around online I discovered that I needed to specify a font which could display the characters. The characters show up just fine in Firefox, KDE, Kate, Terminal, etc so I know I have a font which can render them. I thought it might be DejaVu but this also resulted in question marks...
convert -font /usr/share/fonts/TTF/DejaVuSerif.ttf -pointsize 48 -size 400 caption:测试用 text.png
Any ideas?

DejaVu doesn't contain those Chinese glyphs at all, so please don't blame ImageMagick for not rendering them.
So, Firefox, Kate, Terminal and the others you stated to use DejaVu, if encounter these characters, fall back to some other fonts to render them. These fonts are, however, not vector, but bitmap fonts. (This can be seen if you increase text size (Ctrl++ in Firefox): the Chinese characters don't change, they remain of their inherent size.)
Actually, e.g. /usr/share/fonts/misc/18x18ko.pcf.gz definitely contains the three example characters, so the mentioned apps may use this font as fall back.
Apparently ImageMagick doesn't handle bitmap fonts (I'm not sure), so you won't be able to hit your original target. Anyway, since you tried to parse "-pointsize 48", you wouldn't be satisfied with the font size.
Your only choice seems to be using the above mentioned CJK-approved TTFs.

How to create an image that when scrolled over automatically scrolls between 3 image

What i am trying or rather what i want to achive is, when an image is scrolled over it automaticly scrolls between 3 pictures and when it is rolled off of goes back to a specific image. How do i do something like this i know its going to have to be a javascript item, but how do i do it?

Can't create system image in windows 7

I am in Backup and Recovery and I am trying to create recovery disks for my new Pavilion 500t-205t. I see create ISO image. When I click on that it starts a swirling circle and nothing happens. I want to put my recovery disks on DVD and does not come back and give me that option. What is going on?
Also, when I try and register my product it tells me to try later. Is Product Registrations down?

Your computer might have one or two options for creating recovery media. Use the option that works best for you. See this:

May I suggest you use Macrium Reflect Free to create an exact hard disk image to an external hard drive. It creates an exact copy of your OS, programs and date to restore your computer in the event of a disaster. I personally make one once a week and has saved me me a lot of headaches when I had problems. Don't forget to create the rescue disk from within the program.

Do not download the trial version and select custom install to avoid having crapware.

Why does my image disappear when I create a slice?

I am trying to create a simple rollover where the font size is changed when the mouse hovers over the link. When I create a slice of the text area, the image disappears. Can anyone tell me why and how to correct this? I have viewed several tutorials, so I am confident that I have created the 2 states properly and am applying the slice correctly, but for some reason the image disappears in both states when I do.

Distiller missing text and image links when saving to pdf

Not sure if anyone has experienced this issue before. Basically I create artwork 1up in indesign CS3 and print as a postscript file "print ready settings" then create a pdf through distiller 8.1.2. After this I then imposition the 1up PDF back into indesign (using the pdf as a link and then step and repeat it) then I print the new imposed artwork as postscript file again and distill it as a PDF ready for offset printing.
Most time this process works like a dream, but every now and then distiller doesn't want to process the file correctly and images and sometimes text have dropped off the final imposed PDF file. It doesnt notify me of any problems when distilling. As you can imagine working in the print industry this is VERY SCARY
As i am using a common 1up pdf link the imposition should be correct, (all the pdf linked images should be the same anyway) Is it a memory issue, or a bug in distiller perhaps.
Im running a Mac with OSX 10.4.11 with 2Gig of RAM.
If you would like to see a sample of the issue let me know.
Any help on this would be awesome.

Working in a pre-press environment we obviously prefer to print from pdf files (as opposed to using supplied native art). As a result I am always receiving pdf files from external clients who have saved their artwork from indesign to pdf format, so Im not sure what the real difference is between me imposing a supplied indesign/pdf files in indesign vs me imposing my own indesign/pdf files in indesign. (aprt from perhaps going through distiller twice)
i can see what your saying though and for years i have been using the cut and paste and step and repeat method but recently changed my workflow for a few reasons
- I noticed that by printing a 1up pdf and relinking the file back into my indesign imposition the final imposed pdf was lower in size
- if a client made a change to the artwork after imposing (which always happens) all i had to do was make the change, resave the pdf 1up link again and update the link and it did it for me and saved me from step and repeating all over again,
- whenever the job was printed again in the future i could use the same procedure, resave as 1up pdf again and update the link.
- plus i knew that if i was using the one link all my step and repeats would be exactly the same each time (and i didn't have to worry that a graphic that hadn't been selected/grouped correctly and would drop off when step and repeating)
.....and for sure it probably is a slightly longer way to impose a job for print but it saves me half the time on the next print run, and i can use my imposition file as a template for similar jobs also.
I have found the workflow i use works fine, apart from these rare hiccups which i can get around by resaving the pdf again anyway, but what Im really worried about is the times this error presents itself and doesn't notify me that a problem has occurred.

Text frame rollover states in lightbox display comp widget trigger area no longer working in V 3.0

I had text frames with rollover states placed into the trigger area of lightbox display composition widgets
The rollover on the text worked fine, and then when clicked the lightbox composition widget opened
However this morning I updated Muse to the latest version 3.0 (which I was prompted to do) But now all these text frame rollover states no placed into the trigger areas of my lightbox dispslay composition widgets no longer work throughout my entire document
The lightbox will open when I click the text, but the rollover effect will no longer work
Is anyone having the same problem? Is there a way I can fix this? I was supposed to send the site to a client this morning :\

Yes. I'm having the same type of trouble with a site I'm updating for a client. I haven't updated the site since before version 2.0.
But now that I've upgraded to version 3.0 my rollovers and linking for the rollovers don't work. Very strange. I too need to get
the site posted ASAP. Please someone help us on this subject.

InDesign CC 2014 very slow performance when dragging images and changing text.
Running on 2010 Macpro 2.4GHz. 8GB RAM. Any solutions? I've read through many forums on this and tried several fixes.

Have exact same issue on my Windows 7 machine. Resetting preferences is a workaround.
So I start InDesign whilst holding down these keys.
Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Cmd + Ctrl + Opt + Shift (Mac)
Whilst inDesign is usable again with this fix- I have to do it every time so it trashes all my preferences so NOT GOOD long term fix. Otherwise InDesign freezes and can only be stopped by forcing a quit.
I have manually deleted the preference files and I have created a brand new admin account - but still no luck - will be onto support tomorrow

Setting Lightroom's preview size to larger than screen resolution is guaranteed to slow things down. I have a dual monitor system whith Lightroom showing the loupe on one screen and the grid on the other. The screen sizes are 1920x1080 and 2560x1440. Following your practice for previews would bring my system to a crawl and I have an entry level workstation.All my previews are of standard 1024x768 in size. The only delays in viewing come when Lightroom is asked to display an image where there is no preview. Once the preview has been created, browsing is near instantaneous.
I beg to differ! The reason is that a preview can be used for any size, which is smaller than that of the preview. Scaling down a preview can be done with little or not loss in quality compared to getting the full resulution and scale that down. Scaling up is not possible.
In your case, you will not use the previews of 1024x768 at all for full screen display. Instead you will force L3 to create bigger previews the first time you open the photo. You could try this by generating the standard previews for new imported photos before you start browsing. Then try to browse. You will probably get the "Loading" message, which indicates that the preview was not used and another one with higher resolution will be made. Then try the same experiment, setting the size of the standard preview to 2048. If, and only if, the size of your display area is not more than 2048 pixels wide and you display a photo in lanscape orientation, you will be able to browse without delay after generating the standard previews.
If I understand your setup correctly, you display the photos in a window of 2560x1440 pixels. I suspect that only 1:1 previews could be used for that. I think Adobe should increase the maximum size of the previews to a value larger than 2048, so that you are not forced to use only the 1:1 previews.
I agree, that when the previews have been generated, browsing is near instantaneous.

When exporting to HTML in Adobe Muse. It doesn't create a image/images folder when exporting.

When I export to HTML to upload the site on FileZilla, it doesn't create an images folder.
It did it before and thought it was just the 1 saved file, but then I tried the other websites I have done and it is doing the same thing.
It creates everything from text and the widgets but everywhere where there are images, is just blank.

I'm sorry you took my post as an attack on the Adobe staff. I was not passing judgement on the questions the staff asked, or the lack of additional staff response when they went unanswered.
Rather, I was expressing surprise/disappointment that the COMMUNITY did not provide any additional comments in a whole year.
It turns out there a several other threads (which is where I got the clue about the issue that I was having).
BTW, in my case I did move the images to the assets folder, and re-linked them. However, I guess Muse keep track of the fact they were in the images folder originally and consequently did not subsequently export them.
I would think an option for a fresh/full export (as is provided for the FTP) would be a good enhancement to Muse.

When I return the external to the MacBook, all images appear in browser rectangles. What's happening on the iMac?

You may have a problem with the permissions on your external volume. Probably you are not the owner of your library on the second mac.
If you have not already done so, set the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag on your external volume. To do this, select the volume in the Finder and use the Finder command "File > Get Info" (or ⌘I).
In the "Get Info" panel disclose the "Sharing & Permissions" brick, open the padlock, and enable the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag. You will have to authentificate as administrator to do this.
Then run the "Aperture Library First Aid Tools" on this library and repair the permissions. To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the ⌥⌘-key combination while you double click your Aperture Library. Select "Repair Permissions" and run the repair; then repeat with "Repair Database". Do this on the omputer where you created the library and where you can see the thumbnails.
Then check, if you now are able to read the library properly on your iMac.

If you want to rearrange images in random order you can try an AppleScript:
retrieve a list of selected images from Aperture
shuffe the list properly
create an album in Aperture and add the images from the list to the album (make sure that the album set to be orederd manually)
Here is a sample script that shuffles the selected images and displays them in random order in Full Screen Mode:

How do I create a icon that when clicked will open and maximize an image file? I have tried to use the simple image widget with maximize upon tap/click - however I am can only size the image really small and put on the page. I'd prefer to have a graphic that when clicked it simply opens up the image. This is for a very simple question/answer book. The user is suppose to look at a picture and locate something. I want to put an 'Answer' graphic on the image and then the user can click the 'answer' graphic and it will open up the picture with the answer identified.
Is this possible?

Have yiu tried the PopOver widget? You can drop an image into it, maximise the image and the widgets window...But, you cannot get it full screen.
With iBooks Author, you either learn to use what is available within the app, or look online for third party widgets to purchase which suit your project.

That depends on why it won't open. Most of the time it means the file is corrupted and unlikely to be recovered. If you saved it right after adding or copying a LOT of layers - then it might just be the layer limit and we can attempt to recover it.
