Creating an .mp4 with h.264 encoding in Compressor - how???

In FCP I can choose Export - Using QuickTime Conversion, then choose MPEG-4 as the file type and go into Custom settings and tell it to use H.264 as the Video Format (encoder). I can also click the Video Options button and tell it to use the Baseline profile instead of Main, and AAC Low Complexity audio.
These are the requirements for the website I create content for.
What I want to know is - how can I make a preset in Compressor that has these same settings? When I choose MPEG-4, if I try to change the encoder to H.264, it completely changes the file extension to .m4v which is not what I want. I also don't see options for setting a Baseline vs Main profile.
Can this be done??

That sounds frustrating. Have you tried manually changing the file extension after using h.264? This may work depending on how your deliverables are used. Just a thought.

It's just a view that shows you everything that's in your other albums and events in one place...

iTunes application can only convert files to .WAV, .MP3, Apple Lossless Encoder, AIFF, AAC.

1080i H.264 encoding in compressor????

Can someone tell me how to make a 1080i H.264 QT in compressor. The inspector window only goes up to 720p. I've searched this forum, but haven't really found anything helpful on the topic.
I did make one exporting "QT conversion", but the options to control the data rate seemed more limited there.

Compressor and DVD Studio Pro only support progressive (and possibly only up to 720p at that). Here is the info from apple:

Which version of Premiere? CC does not include Encore, but you can download the Encore CS6 from your account. As it is part of Premiere CS6, I believe you would need to download and install Premiere/Encore CS6, and then you can uninstall Premiere CS6, leaving Encore CS6 installed.
If you have Premiere CS6, then you already have Encore CS6. In either case, from Premiere, use File > Export > Media to open Media Encoder. For FORMAT, choose "MPEG-2 DVD", then choose an appropriate preset from the list. For instance, if editing with 1080i, then you might choose NTSC Widescreen High Quality. For 1080p, then use the Progressive version, etc.
What is your source video format? If starting with HD, then check the box at the bottom of AME for Max Render Quality, it helps with the scaling.
Hit EXPORT at bottom and it exports two files, an .m2v for video and .wav for audio. Open Encore, start a New DVD project, and then File > Import > As Timeline and grab both those files for import. From there, I recommend finding an Encore tutorial, too involved for me to type it all out here.
Hope this gets you going at least, but search online for tutorials, there is plenty of good, free stuff out there

The data is in form of video footage.
The Mac player warns of missing codec to allow the preview.

After Effects render constraints for .mov with h.264 codec maximum dimensions 2000px x 2000px?

Is there anyway I can create .mov container with h.264 codec with dimensions 3840px by 1080px? When I try rendering from AE it lowers dimensions to under 2000px. Same thing happens when I try to save as from Quicktime. Programs I have access to are Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Media Encoder, and Final Cut.

Yes, It does seem to be mutliple LDCs. They asked for a final output video as 3840x1080. The requirements are this and they finally sent this display.
Basic Requirements
Ensure the resolution of the file (width and height in pixels) matches the specs provided exactly, even small deviations can result in poor quality playback or no playback at all
.MOV animations must use H.264 encoding
We recommend 15fps (frames per second) for animation
File size should be roughly 1 Megabyte per second or less, i.e. a 10 second .MOV file should be 10MB or less.

I have a tremendous amount of family video on DV tapes. I have a small fraction of them on my system as .AVI files, but I would like to have most if not all the collection with VERY good quality. I am interested in converting them to MP4 with H.264, but am confused about all the options.
For example, what data rate should I use, what image size, etc. My souce is 4:3 aspect ratio. QT gives so many options it is overwhelming. Do I want to restrict profiles to baseline or main?
Any general advise would be greatly appreciated.

Please Help - Very strange problem with internal String encoding

I created a file in one-byte russian encoding cp1251 and declared String literal with 2 letters:
String str = "ab"; //attention! ab - two russian characters
After I got bytes from it - str.getBytes("cp1251") - it returned 2 byte's array.
Now I created a file with UTF-8 encoding with equal content and suddenly:
After I got bytes from it - str.getBytes("cp1251") - it returned 4! byte's array. Why?
I need to get a one-byte encoded arrays (cp1251 or koi8-r) but getBytes ALWAYS returns two-byte encoded arrays.
It is very strange: cp1251 is always one-byte encoded, but .getBytes("cp1251") returns two-byte on each letter. Why? Please help.

I did not read a string from a file. I created 2 .java files with different encodings (cp1251 and UTF-8) and compiled them, telling compiler with -Dfile.encoding=*** to read them correctly. While execution java interprets two looking equal in editor strings as different objects with different .intern() representation.
Why java consider source .java file encoding while creating internal representation of String object and creates from looking equally in editor strings two DIFFERENT Unicode representations. And it is impossible to convert one representation to other - impossible to get two equal byte[] arrays.

How to create an employee with a specific effective_start_date with api?

I'm trying to create an employee through the hr_employee_api.create_employee (R12 Apps)
In Forms, if we want create it in a different date than sysdate, we use the "Alter effective date" screen... what this does is to copy into global.g_session_date variable the value we set.. and I suppose that this date is what api takes as sysdate to create an employee with desired effective_start_date.
But.. how to set it through Plsql procedure that call to create_employee api? p_per_effective_start_date is an out parameter... But after following the code through internal apis.. I didn't get to find where is that value set...
Any ideas?
If no one is passed, it's set to sysdate.. but what we want is to set this date to one specific...

sorry for a "quick" conclusion...
Although the session date wwill be set inserting in fnd_sessions.. the effective_start_date returned ..continues with the value of hire_date.
I've checked the screen behavior and it inserts directly into PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F (when we have a "normal" employee, not CWK) through per_people11_pkg.insert_row1 procedure.
So.. is there anyway with create_employee api to create an employee (CORRECTION p_datetrack_update_mode) with hire_date different from p_effective_start_date??

I created a broacher with a template using pages but am unable to save it in JPEG. I tried saving as a pdf then using preview save as JPEG but it did not give that option??

I have created a boucher with PAGES using a template. How do I now get that teplate to JPEG?
I tried convertong it to a PDF then saving , but I never got an option to save as JPEG.

ORA-02348: cannot create VARRAY column with embedded LOB

This error message I get when I try to create a table from my schema file which has a (sub-) element of type CLOB.
In my XML document I have an element which needs to become declared a CLOB (because it's > 4000 bytes), in my Schema I define it's element node like:
<xs:element name="MocovuState" xdb:SQLType="CLOB">
I can register this Schema file but when I create the table, I get the error:
ORA-02348: cannot create VARRAY column with embedded LOB
Does anybody know how to handle this ?

You need to use the xdb:storeVarrayAsTable="true" schema annotation so that unbounded elements are created at schema registration time as nested tables. Varrays can not contain CLOBs/BLOBS. Use the schema annotation xdb:SQLType="CLOB" to tell Oracle XMLDB to use CLOB storage for the element. See your schema below:
P.S. XMLSPY is invaluable as it supports Oracle XML Schema annotations.

Create a notification with reference

My requirement is to create a notification with reference to another notification.
How can i do that ? I tried to use BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CREATE but I faced 2 problems:
1. I didnt know where to give the reference notification number
2. I am getting the error: "Partner maintenance: Manadatory function AG was not maintained for object"

Creating a document with hyperlinks to a glossary

I am creating a document with hyperlinks to a glossary. How can I permit my reader to return to the page that the hyperlink originated on? Thanks!

The last time I did this I put each glossary term on its own (much smaller) page, then created a link to return to previous view that covered the entire page so no matter where they clicked they would go back to where they came from. Or you could create a button that jumps to previous view. Of course this only works when each glossary term is linked just once. If the same term is used on different pages you link them all to the glossary but the link on the glossary page will only return to the first instance.
