Creating an online booking system

What started off as a simple website for a coffee shop has turned into a web design project to rival Holiday Inn's Room Booking system.
First off, I am a complete newbie, the website for the coffee shop is being built using Muse, and my clients are happy to host with Business Catalyst. Last week they spring on me that they are also offering alaternative therapies with two treaments rooms on site. They now require a booking system for 6+ different therapists using 2 therapy rooms.
The client needs an online diary, which all the therapists can remotely view (from their homes or other treatment sites) so they can check availability of the rooms at the coffee shop and book where appropriate. None of the therapists are on site all the time, they will only be on the premises when they have a booking.
The simplest system I can envisage is customers email the therapists requesting a call back through the website, then the therapists go to the online calendar and book liasing with the customer themselves.
The client is currently using Google Docs, it is unclear what is actually wrong with this system? they say it's because people are using different devices!!! I need to clarify this.
Thrid party appointment booking software is expensive, a cheaper option would be to use BC and use the WebCommerce package, BUT depsite me trial testing it, I still cant see how it works. I need a simple interface, literally a VISUAL online slot booking system where the therapist can see a block on the calendar filled in. (I cannot be sure how IT savvy these therapists are!) it needs to be simple. Can this feature be created using BC? If so how?
Perosnally I don't see what is wrong with a book, pencil and telephone.

Creating an online help system from FM files

I have been tasked with converting a 340 page user manual in
FrameMaker into RoboHelp in order to create an online help system.
I have imported all the FM files into RoboHelp. Each Project
file is a chapter from the FM user manual and each topic is a
subchapter.
Many of the images crossed over successfully. However, many
came across blurry and others didn't come across at all, instead
appearing as a small red box.
I have been unable to figure out how to get the images that
did not come across into RoboHelp.
After compiling and viewing the primary layout - it looks
pretty good (at least to me). The font and styles in RoboHelp are
the same that were in FM.
I am VERY new to RoboHelp and have learned FM primarily
through trial and error with some outside instruction.
I need help in getting the images into RoboHelp and some
advice on whether or not I am on the right track with my online
help system.

One of them contains thousands of pages mades in Framemaker,
the other one is going to be made from scratch.

Online Booking System - Tutorials (Java, ADF, JSF)

I am working on an Online Flight Booking System. The preferred technology is Java, ADF, JSF etc. I am familiar
with JDeveloper, however I would like to know if tutorials/videos on similar systems are available. Many commercial
airlines have professional booking systems that use a train stop control to show the current process step.
Also interesting to know would be how the template pages are created that populate the data dynamically from the
db. etc.
Any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Online Booking Schedule System

Hi guys,
I've been trying to figure out if there's a way in creating an online booking system for appointments. What I want is to set certain time slots of the week, for customers to book in a time for meeting. For Example, Monday 9am-10am , 11am - 12pm, 3pm - 4pm...etc and when a customer books the time 9am - 10am, then that time slot will not longer be available to book.
I've been reading a few discussion threads, but they don't seem to have been answered. Any help would be great. Thanks

Online Restuarant Booking system

Hi!
I have just designed a website for a restuarant and now they won't to put an online booking system on the site.
The company who provide the system say they can give a line of code which I can embed into the website.
How do I do this with a Flash website because it's not HTML. What would the Action Script be?

Online Hotel Booking System

Hi All,
I used to hang out here quite often a while back (normally in the Java Programming section) and would pay quite a lot of attention to threads, maps and data structures.
I want to put together a simple online hotel booking system as my own pet project to get a bit of expereince in JSP and web technologies -
I ve picked up an Oreily book on this toic but does anyone know where I can find an example online hotel booking system which I can use to learn from? I m pretty sure these types of apps have been written in the past but there was not much on Sourceforge
Any ideas?

The server doesn't know what a booking is - how could it do anything for you? Your problem is also not about code synchronization - it is perfectly valid for two people to process a booking at the same time, it is only not valid to process the exact same booking at the same time.
Me - I'd pretend that there is no such thing as two people booking the same slot at the same time - until the very last moment where you actually commit the booking to a particular person. One of them is going to be first and that's the winner, in the other's case before saving you'd check the database if it is already taken and then inform the user that he/she's out of luck. The stupid and easy solution that is also quite safe.

Should i use flash to create/edit an swf interactive online book?

Hello I'm new to Flash; as Indesign limits what I can do in terms of sound for interactive swfs (specifically I need an mp3 player/controller that would allow a reader to control a number of sound files from any page of the swf), would flash be a suitable program for creating such a book? The aim is to upload the final swf to a website for viewing online.

Just a follow up if you don't mind... My main issue is with an mp3 file I placed in indesign, opting for a floating controller; the problem is that the controller is huge and the file stops playing on page turn, and I can't change either of these things from indesign. Can I make these changes in flash or flash builder while preserving the swf document as it is? Or should I restart the project from within flash? Ideally I'd like to use indesign to create ebooks with interactive audio, and edit them in flash to give them an interactive transcript feature that indesign can't do. Is this a reasonable workflow?

Cannot create Kodak Photo Book with Elements 8

I'm trying to create a Kodak Photo Book with Elements 8. My system gets stuck in an eternal loop at the initial CREATE stage:

Only resolution I can think of is to go back to Elements 7

Can you please tell me your online services location. To find that out, you need to go to the Organizer. Go toEdit>Preferences>Adobe Partner Services. Click the "Choose" button for location and there you will find your online services location. It should be US & Canada for Kodak Photobook services to work.
Also can you please let me know whether you are trying to do this in organizer or Editor?

How to get Apple ID and password that is different to iTunes store account which I have already activated and completed contracts, tax information and bank information I want to create a Paid Books Account use apple ID

I was given this address from the Apple customer support team.
I have an active existing iTunes store account and use the same Apple ID for signing into my iTunes Connect Account that distributes Apps.
I have created some books using the iBook author and in order to distribute content on the iBookstore I have been told electronically that I need a new Apple ID and password that is different to iTunes store account which I have already activated and completed contracts, tax information and bank information valid until 2013?
I want to create a Paid Books Account using the same email address, tax information and bank information. This has been most frustrating, as I cannot get passed the sign in section and there is no contact person I can speak to. I was of the understanding the iTunes connect account and the Developer programs which I paid good money for is all what I needed to be paid for selling iBooks on the iBookstore???
I only have one email address and wish to also use it for the Paid Books Account. I have books ready to be exported and published.
I am also having trouble locating and downloading iTunes Producer. I understand I need to have the Paid Books Account active to access the iTunes Producer program. Please help.

If the apps that are on your son's iPad were purchased under his Dad's Apple ID, then signing your Apple ID onto the iPad will not help you with updating those apps.
Also, if the iPad was sync'd with his Dad's iTunes library, then hooking it up to your computer/iTunes library, will require you to reset the iPad, and everything that was loaded under the other Library and Apple ID will be wiped out.
Can you provide a little more info about what was set up under which Apple ID and what iTunes library the iPad was sync'd with?

How do I register as a developer in the Online Source System?

Im trying to add an ABAP program to SAP BW, and I get this message:
You are not registered as a developer.
Please register in the Online Source System (OSS).
In the OSS you will receive an access key.
I have no idea what this means. How do access the OSS and do this? I have done various searches on SAP's site and I've not found anything useful.
Is there any shortcut I can use to get this access key and proceed with work? I'm on a tight deadline?

Complicated Query Problem - Booking System

I am currently developing a hotel booking system for my University final year project and am having some serious problems with my queries to calculate room availability.
I felt the best method to calculate room availability was to first calculate which rooms were already booked for any specific queried dates and then to subtract those results from the list of total rooms. That would then return which rooms were available on those dates.
My first query successfully calculated which rooms were already booked using my test dates which were rooms 1,3 & 5. This result was stored in a temporary table. The second query then obtained the list of total rooms (1-10) and from this subtracted the results in the temporary table (1,3 & 5) which should have returned 2,4,6,7,8,9,10 as the rooms available. However, it returned the rather strange result "2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10"
It seems to take each result from the temporary table individually, subtract it from the total list of rooms, return the result and then move on to the next value in the temporary table. Which is why '1' is missing from the first 9 numbers, '3' from the second 9 and '5' from the last 9.
If anyone can help me solve this problem or suggest alternative methods I would be most appreciative.

you haven't got a join in your second query
SECOND QUERY
SELECT rooms.room_no FROM rooms, roomsoccupied
WHERE
rooms.room_no != roomsoccupied.room_id;will return rubbish because you have created a valid view of your data with a sensible join.
try something like
SELECT rooms.room_no FROM rooms
WHERE rooms.room_no NOT IN (SELECT roomsoccupied.room_id FROM roomsoccupied);instead, which I believe should give you more meaningful data

I was wondering if I can create a User Registration System in Adobe Muse? I do NOT use Dreamweaver, and I know Dreamweaver can do it. I am not a coder, but there are plenty of tutorials online for me to follow step-by-step. I just can't seem to find anything for Muse.
Since Muse has Insert HTML, I was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to create a User Login and Password protected page.

Building an online inventory system using Oracle fusion

I am developing an online inventory system which is my college project and I don't know where to start
But I have collected materials and learned some about the inventory but I don't have knowledge about jsp/jsf or simply j2ee much. And I saw videos of the jDeveloper, Oracle ADF and many good stuffs
So can anyone guide through it, just a little
I am not asking to build the project. I just wanted some opening, where to start
And i have built a database in oracle .
And gone through some tutorials provided such as "Building Fusion Web Applications" available on cue cards.
I have understood the framework a little but i don't know where to start
Build UI or Business Components or else or a login page .
I have login details set to the database but i don't know how to implement in ADF Security.

I have gone through the referred documents and also done an example about the ADF Security from Cue Cards.
But i want to know something about the Security about the adding Users.
How can we add, drop and edit users from within the Fusion application or a web application, as for now as in the example we create the users and roles by using the jDeveloper.
To be clear, like in any other webpages like in a mailing websites or any other.
As in my program, i want the function to add, edit and remove users through the application.
I also had written similar comment in Shay's blog and he directed some good thing but I couldn't get to the point.
Is there any example or tutorials for this ?
