Creating animations in AI

Hi Guys,
Previously, with the version of CS6 I had, I could create animations with "exporting to web devices" and making a swf file, and setting the swf to apply the layers. Now with CC, it  doesn't appear that I have that option there. Not sure why. I've played around with various other options, based of of researching the board. I tried messing with "swf presets" under the edit menu. And as you see, my options were grayed out. I know that AI isn't really a animation program, but can anyone help me here? I really liked the simplicity of creating layers that represented my animation.

  • Create animated gif s?

Is there any such thing to create an animated gif? Something like a javax.imageio.ImageWriter implementation?
It should be a simple routine for putting some 3 to 5 Images together and publish them...
    Thanks in advance,

Gif4J Library (http://www.gif4j.com) is the best solution to create animated gifs. Supports ImageIO and much more.

  • Creating animations with transparent backgrounds?

I'm running into some problems when using After Effects to create animations with transparent backgrounds for Keynote...
I use animated gifs and short quicktime movies with uniform backgrounds as source files, use color keying to take out the backgrounds, preview them to see if they look OK, render the results as RGB+alpha, and... they don't show up as transparent in Keynote. They work in Powerpoint, however. I've tried outputting as .mov, as .gif, as premultiplied vs straight alpha... no joy. Can someone explain (or point me to an explanation) of how Keynote differs from other programs in its handling of transparency? What am I missing?

Using a TYPE_INT_ARGB BufferedImage worked beautifully. I had played around with Image for hours, but it never occurred to me that BufferedImage would be needed. :)
    many, many thanks,

  • Creating Animations with Project ROME

Have you seen the animation clips (Create New > Animations > Anim Clips)?  If so, this is just the tip of the iceberg of what you can create yourself!
You can animate just about anything you create or bring into Project ROME! So, we want to know if you've created an animation yet and have anything you could share. If not, can we inspire you with a challenge?
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we thought it would be really fun to create animated Thanksgiving e-card invites. Begin brainstorming ideas for your animation and start using the tools to see your animation come to life!
Don't hesitate to post your wonderful creations to the Exchange. Tell us about your process, what you loved and if you ran into any problems. Good luck and have fun!

I created an animation/presentation project for students "Shapes_Project1" and posted to the ROME template exchange and to edexchange.adobe.com. It is designed to show students the function of the transform panel and how simple shapes can be changed and animated. It also gives the students an opportunity to create pages to demonstrate their understanding. Let me know what you think.

  • What are all the different methods/tools for creating animations that work in IBA?

I've been developing HTML5 animations in Sencha and attempting to use the HTML widget in IBA.  It's not going as seamless as I was hoping, and I was wondering if there are better methods/tools to create animations for IBA.  In my opinion, the primary limitation is not in Sencha itself, it's more in the widget functionality in IBA.
I want the entire page to be an animation and drive the user experience, basically.  Currently in IBA, the widget allows for successfully importing an HTML5 animation, but in more as a complementary role to the page instead of the primary content.
    Any ideas?

Thanks Fabe - I agree 100%.  However, in order to make fully dynamic books, animations can play a great role in bringing a book to life.  (Admittedly, I may have to just build an app for what I'm trying to do)
    Anyone else have any thoughts?

  • Whats the best adobe software to create animations?

    Hello,
I am  Graphic Designer not up to the date, and I was wondering which is the best program to create animations; graphics, 3D, etc.
I would really appreciate your help. I am first time checking into a great and interesting community.
    Thanks,

    Hi WildInk,
If you're not very techie I'd probably stick with Photoshop and continue to create animated gifs for web banners. You could also create stuff in Flash but I'm thinking Photoshop would be better for you. The process would be the same in Photoshop CS6 as CC.
This kind of stuff would still apply

  • How i can create animated slide show?

How i can create animated slide show to my web sites listed bellow? Is Adobe PS suitble for it ?
    My websites are

You knowladge will help me to develop my sites with attractive slide show
    Thank you

JJMack covers some possibilities, predicated on the embedded player in your Web site.
You might want to look at another pair of Adobe programs, that work well together: Adobe Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements. They are available in a bundle, and, if you do not have Photoshop Extended (up through CS 5.5), or Ps CS 6, or Ps CC, they cost MUCH less.
One can create the SlideShow in the Organizer (sort of like Bridge, but with some differences), then can Send to Premiere Elements for final editing, such as the addition of Narration, or a Soundtrack. From PrE, one can then output to many, many different formats for linking to the player on the Web site.
Now, if you have Ps Extended, Ps CS 6, or Ps CC already, you have video-editing capabilities, but some of the output options (and even Import options), will be limited.
If searching for a program (or bundle of programs), then the Elements duo will do exactly what you need. Also, both of those programs have their own, very active forums, so you will have two communities to offer you support.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Layer position resets when creating animations

I'm creating an animated gif from a video clip (cinemagraph). In order to acheive the effect I need, I need to move each layer with the move tool to get an object to stay in the same position. I have gone through layer by layer and used the move tool to move the contents of each layer. When I play the animation I see the layers in the position I put them in. As soon as I stop playing the animation the contents of each layer snap back to their original positions. I have tried using the lock tools (both lock position and lock all) but they don't make a difference. Can anyone tell me why layer positions would reset when creating animations and how to get it to stop?
    Thanks for any help.
    Eric

It seems from your answer that you're thinking I'm just moving one frame and expecting the rest of them to move automatically (but I'm not sure if that's what you are saying). I have gone through and moved each frame individually and then locked each frame's position individually. When I play the animation and then stop it the layers move back to their original positions.
I'm also not sure if you're thinking I'm expecting that when I move one image off the layer it will affect the next layer. That's not what I'm expecting. I'm just repositioning the image on each layer to get a particular object to stay in one place (the camera was moving while shooting), so I'm dealin gwith each layer individually.
    Thanks

  • Creating animations that will import into FCP

What are some program options for creating and manipulating objects like squares, rectangles and circles that will be used for creating animations to be imported into protions of FCP projects. The final output will be DVD's. Director MX2004 works very well for creating the animations, however when converted to a QT movie and imported into FCP, the animations look like a copy of a VHS tape. (Export settings were component video.) The animations are not acceptable when viewed on both a TV and NTSC monitor. Is anyone successfully using Director for such an application? I would certainally appreciate any suggestions.
    G5 2 X 2   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   G4 15" Power Book

I agree about the material that is coming out of Director being the problem.
The fundamental questions is "is Director capable of this kind of output?"?? I was hoping someone would tell me "this is how I did it" or "It is impossible using Director". All I know is there was some animation from Director in at least top movie a couple of years--I don't remember its name. So someone was able to get animation out of Director good enough for the film industry!
As for other questions you posed. The vector graphics I need can be created and manipulated as I need in Director. The whole project could be done in Director and outputed as a cross platform "projector" from a Mac or PC version of Director. However, there some issues with keeping things "in time" using Director. Using Director for the whole project is "plan B".
With regards to your other questions. In short, I want to animate some very detaliled shop type activities that are hard to video and understand. The animations will compliment the video and will show/simplify concepts needed to learn particular shop skills.
I want to make and market a series of DVD on these shop activites. Yes I know it is not a small project. I have been working on problems relating to everything from copyrighting to the insurance/liability aspects for several years. I also have the hardware & software to make DVD "demos" and examples to "show and tell". Now I need some help getting the stuff to do what I want/need!
FCP is the best option for "putting together" audio, video and amimation before making a DVD.
    Thank you for your input.

  • Workflow for creating animations for web (Creative Suite CS6)

    Hi,
I was wondering about what the best workflow is for creating animated videos for the web (say, YouTube) once the project reaches the "computer" stage (i.e. story, look etc. are all decided).
Is it best to use Photoshop, Illustrator or Fireworks to draw everything if the software to animate these drawings is After Effects?
The project I'm talking about is as of yet hypothetical but would be relatively short (90 seconds) and simple as I don't have much experience with this at all - hence my question.
I've been looking around for a good set of basic tutorials but can't really work out how to go about this from start to finish using the Adobe Suite.
    Thanks!

size is mort important than format. I prefer PSD files, but png, tiff, tga, even jpeg if you do not need transparency. Just make them big enough that at some point in your composition they are scaled to 100%. IOW, if you are drawing full frame animation cells for HD they do not need to be any bigger than 1920 X 1080 pixels. If you are going to scale them up or move in on some details then the area you are going to be pushing in on needs to be 1980 X 1920.

  • Photoshop CS3 Standard - creating animations HELP

I am afraid that the new CS3 Standard that I recently purchased does not have any animation possibility in package. AM I WRONG? Please tell me I'm wrong. I have used old versions of Imageready and found it was great. Can I create animations including remote animations for web using the CS3 Standard package??? It doens't have Flash or Fireworks in it or if it does, I can't find it.
Which is the best software to use for web animations including simple and remote and drop down menu animations???
    Gina

There are ways to do nearly everything that ImageReady did but some of them are pretty convoluted.
There are literally thousands of forum postings about this inconsiderate act of Adobe and a few blogs which give detailed instructions on how to get around its absence in CS3.
The easiest thing is to keep or re-install CS2!

  • Creating animations from jpegs

I need to create animations fron a set of jpegs. I can layer selections in photoshop; create symbols in Flash, although When I open a multi-layer psd in FL,  don't always get multi-layers in FL. More importantly, what graphic/symbol formats are required for the typical animation techniques (eg, different tweens, bones, puppet). Can't seem to find this info anywhere. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ron

with classic tweening, use vectors.  to convert a bitmap to a vector in flash, select it, click modify, bitmap, trace bitmap.   with motion tweening convert your bitmaps to movieclips (right click, click convert, convert to movieclip).

  • Best way to create animated icons?

What software/tutorials can I use to best create animated icons similar in style to the ones at this link:http://vimeo.com/58445870

This can be done in After Effects.  But you'll need a firm grasp on animating in After Effects.
This is a tough project, regardless of what software you use.

  • Load/import images into layers to create animated gif in PE4

I'm trying to make an animated gif using Photoshop Elements 4.0.
I have numerous images (photos) that I need to insert into separate frames of one image.
(photo1, photo2 ..... photo10 - all combined in layers to create the frames of the animated gif)
I can open each photo separately, copy it, go the the animated gif image, create a new layer, and paste the image into the layer to create a frame in the animated gif.  This is very time consuming.
Does Elements 4.0 allow for just opening/importing the separate images (photos) into the layers (frames) of the gif direclty?  I remember having software that came with Macromedia Dreamweaver 4.0 in 2000 that made this simple and straight forward.
